Tried to get a window repaired or replaced but the man that answered apparently had a lot of business for the next couple of weeks due to the hurricane Zeta. He did not offer to take my information but did tell me to call back the next day and talk to his wife about scheduling something

I bought a $800 glass door from Metairie Glass. Im a homeowner and not an expert in glass doors. I got the information about the hinges & supports for the door - but forgot about cutting a hole in the glass door for a handle. And because the door was extra thick (and expensive), I couldnt retro-fit the door with a slip-on handle. My $800 glass door is a total loss.What happened?When I went back to Metairie, they treated me poorly. I SUGGESTED that they remind the next homeowner about the need to drill holes for handles -- but that idea was not well received.So I went to another glass store to get my glass door made again. Yes - its expensive. But I would have been willing to give the business to Metairie AGAIN if only they had shown some understanding -- and maybe accepted some little amount of fault. I wasnt looking for a freebie - as the mistake was mine also. But maybe free installation would have been nice.My conclusion: Beware of Metairie Glass. Their price was fair and the installer was very nice and competent. But they didnt lift a finger to remind me of everything needed to get an expensive glass door made properly.
