Ryan and Ethan were my installers and they were professional, on time, super neat, and such a pleasure to deal with. The electrician was extremely good as well but I forgot his name. I got several estimates and although the prices were all pretty similar I went with First Choice because of the great reviews. I was very happy to work with them on my installation. I would definitely recommend this company or use them again.

Had Ed and his team install the Lennox Signature services HVAC roughly 7 years ago (~2014). Great team and support over the years. Had the AC coil go bad this year, and had the Angel, replace it - there was a service/installation fee, but Angel, the technician, was great, 1st diagnosing the issue and then returning once the coil unit was available from Lennox. Angle has been also servicing the unit over the past 6 years, and is very knowledgeable and helpful. He provided us the best price and labor warranty for the class of AC we got for our house. Whole installation process was handled very efficiently and transparently. I had a number of technical queries which were answered by Eddy as well as by his technicians in a satisfactory and honest manner. I can recommend them confidently because of their professional integrity and commitment to completing the job well while offering a competitive price.

Our First Choice for Veterans and military families! We first came across First Choice when they provided a complimentary Heating Maintenance check for Veteran’s Day. The technician they sent was very professional, and did a thorough check of our furnace.A year down the line when our A/C went out in the middle of a heat wave, we turned to First Choice. They squeezed us into their busy schedule and even though the forecast threatened rain, they assured us that replacing our A/C system was a priority job and they would bring tents and get it done, rain or shine.Their customer service has been excellent, fast and efficient. With the A/C replacement, they provided a significant military discount for Veterans. We went a step further and inquired about setting up a Service Contract with First Choice, and they again offered a generous Veterans discount. Competitive pricing aside, First Choice really does a great job with their services. I never had a problem with them and would highly recommend them.

First Choice Heating & Cooling is excellent! Vaughn, the technician, arrived about 15 minutes early today and worked quickly to service our A/C (routine maintenance that we could not get done earlier due t the pandemic). He also installed a new Honeywell Thermostat - replacing one (a different brand) that went kaput after 12 years - and showed me how to use the new one. During the heat of the summer, I scheduled a repair service with First Choice. Before their scheduled visit, I was able to secure another company days earlier to address the fact that my central air was not working. They upgraded my entire system when I bought the house. They removed the original furnace and installed a new one and moved it into the attic. They also added central air conditioning to the home for the first time in 60 years. What a huge difference. This year they are adding a Mini Split to the master bedroom. Having used First Choice in the past for our A/C spring service, we again, had them come to our house a little over a week ago.Zach informed us we needed a new system as it had been band-aided as long as it could. I made the mistake of calling Gold Medal services initially to service my ac unit that went out on me. They came out and seemed more concerned of explaining all these issues that could be the problem, but never guaranteed they could fix it. Gold medal left charging me a service fee and never got my ac unit working in 90degree weather. I called First Choice heating n cooling, which turned out to be the best decision I could of made. Angel my technician came out assessed my unit and immediately knew the problem. Angel took the time to explain everything in detail in a professional manner that the common homeowner would understand. He had my ac unit up n running within the hour. I guarantee that if any future issues should arise First Choice and Angel the technician will be who I call first.

Needed new Ac unit-Eddie came out on a Sunday and was very pleasant and professional. Installed a new unit by Thursday and all seems to be running beautifully. Very happy with the service.

Terrible Service and Outrageously High Prices at First ChoiceBased on my complaint to First Choice Heating and Cooling in Metuchen, NJ… on August 4, 2021 the General Manager Ryan of First Choice agreed to provide a refund of the $99 service call fee charged to me on August 2, 2021. On August 5, 2021 Ryan called me back to renege on his offer to refund me.My complaint was as follows:I called First Choice on Monday August 02, 2021 for an AC repair. They came and charged $99 for the service call. But they said they could not return for 3 to 4 days to do the repair or 1 to 2 weeks to do a replacement. The repair would be to replace the fan motor and the fan blade. Three to four days is too long for a simple AC repair. If they were so backed up with work that they couldn’t come back for 3 to 4 days they never should have come in the first place.They later claimed the reason for the delay was it would take a few days to get the parts, but based on my past experience parts are easily available for my units, often same day or next day. When you have a broken AC or furnace it is a reasonable expectation that the service company would get the parts and be able do the repair right away.First Choice said on their Monday August 2 visit they would email an estimate, but 48 hours passed and I received nothing. I called them and then they sent an estimate for $970 to replace a fan blade and fan motor… but they said they would need to return to the house to get more information required to give an estimate for replacement. But I had clearly told them on August 2 that I wanted an estimate for both a repair and an estimate to replace the AC so I could decide which would make the most sense. But they only sent an estimate to repair.Later on August 4, after I asked why they didn’t get information they needed on August 2, they went ahead and sent the estimate for replacement anyway, which was over double the price of competitors. Keep in mind that this is a two-family house and just 3 months earlier I replaced the same AC in the other apartment and the price was less than half of the First Choice cost. I received pricing from 2 different HVAC companies just a few months earlier and both gave prices that were less than half what First Choice was asking. This confirms that the First Choice price was unreasonable being over double what other companies were charging.So, based on my experience with First Choice their service is terrible, their prices are extremely high (confirmed by their estimates vs. the actual price for the same job just 3 months earlier) and they reneged on their agreement on August 4th to refund the $99 fee.

My Lennox air conditioner was making a rattling noise. The First Choice technician came over and diagnosed that the fan motor needed to be replaced, so I ordered one online and had them replace it. The new motor did not help much, the noise is still there but the decibels are lower. The technician - who seemed to be a nice guy - then told me that the new motor was not needed and I should keep the old one as a back up. Spent a lot of money for nothing. At least, he didnt tell me to replace the entire air conditioner like another company did.

One of our two 18 year old AC units died and we replaced both of them along with both furnaces. Eds site visit was prompt and he was quick with his quotes. He also moved our units to a more concealed part of the yard and installed a humidifier. They drilled through brick and cinder block and made it all look great. The entire install went like clockwork. The team was very careful to follow all code guidelines (some of which - like not putting the exhaust under the deck, where my other furnace and water heater go - are ridiculous, but will prevent a fight with the building inspector later). I highly recommend First Choice.

Other quotes we received were costly and involved installation of duct work visible to the eye. First Choice had recently installed central a/c in our neighbors older home and were pleased with the results. First Choice responded quickly to our call for a quote. The owner was pleasant and truly listened to our concerns and ideas. He thought outside the box and provided a solution for our home that would not involve visible and ugly duct work.
