Spent a lovely afternoon visiting the different exhibitions. The gift shop has products for every age. We tried to grab a coffee at Verde but it was closed due to an upcoming event. There is a path to walk along the water. The Frost museum is right beside it, you can do both on the same day!

The location is wonderful. Beautiful grounds outdoors to sit and gaze at the bay and a lovely place to have a snack or eat lunch outside at the museum restaurant. The building is pretty cool, although it looks like many of the upside down trees are not thriving. We were disappointed by the art collection. Art of course is a very individual thing but for us much of what we saw was unremarkable.

I cant understand their policy not allowing photography or videography beside using cell phone (nothing to film to be honest) I will give a shot again with another exhibition in the future.

I really wish we would have went to the science museum instead.Unless youre a true art fanatic, Im not sure this place is for you. Much of the art here is too complex or abstract for the common person to understand. You must pay$15 for parking in a garage with more potholes than the entire state of Oklahoma. The facility was clean, large and well staffed with some neat places to hang out, particularly outside.

The museum is unique and interesting from the outside. The building had many points of visual interest with plants all over. The interior is open and bright. The staff are friendly and helpful. The galleries are well laid out and cohesively curated. The flow is dictated by COVID precautions but adds to the continuity of the experience. The museum presents works by people of differing backgrounds and perspectives. This broadens the appeal and deepens a well rounded visit for guests.Outdoor and indoor spaces are incredible. When you arrive at the museum you see lush plants and plenty of shade. There are spots with water views with plenty of shaded seats. There is a cafe for drinks and or food. The museum store has an impressive selection of quality items. I personally liked the vinyl sold in a partnership between Miami local shop Sweat Records in Little Haiti and PAMM. There is a variety of various artists like Clarence Reid with varying presses - some color. A neat find to help support local and take a PAMM memento home.

This museums architecture is a definite treat for the eyes, and with big open interior spaces and minimal corridors, I get to really focus on the art while still taking in how the space interacts with it.As for the art? You have some real gems in there, especially some surreal art and the exhibition consisting of black artists. However, I cant get into some of the art that requires a lengthy description for proper interpretation... but such is the deal with modern art (-_-)The live music they sometimes host at the patio is awesome too. In late 2019 I saw Men I Trust there, what a time.8/10

As a local, this was my first time experiencing PAMM and I was so pleased!First of all, big ups to those that decided to provide free entry for active military and Veterans! I’m a member but I took my parents who are proud Veterans. The staff was so nice and the exhibits were truly breathtaking. I really enjoyed “Allied with Power: African and African Diaspora Art from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection.” Amazing paintings, photography and sculptures. Thankfully, they had the collection available in the gift shop so I really only took a few pictures to post here. The day was beautiful and we enjoyed the café right after a walk around the building. Truly a wonderful experience!I like the timed entries but just wished my slot didn’t include anyone “doing it for the ‘gram” because it takes away so much of the experience and the art itself. Taking a selfie with a piece representing slaves jumping into the ocean during the slave trade is not something to giggle and throw up a peace sign for social media. Whew, chile They need to be stopped.

The Pérez Art Museum rotates its exhibitions on a periodic basis. Every 3 to 4 months expect to see a new show in addition to selections from their permanent collection. The museum is architectural masterpiece. The permanent collection contains works by 20th Century Masters such as Rosenquist, Rauschenberg, Jim Dine, Anna Mendietta and Susan Rothenberg to name a few. It’s all part of Miami World class art scene encompassing at least 10 major regional art collections. The Rubell, The Delacruz, ICA, The Margulies collection, the Lowe art Collection, FIU museum, NSU museum and the Palm Beach Museum.

Ok the collection is great and I love going there but the best part with the PAMM is the building itself and the area around it. It is always so pleasant to just sit in the covered area gazing at the view on the palm trees and the South Beach canal after the visit. Totally doable with young kids too (granted I have a membership so can keep the visits with my daughter short without feeling i should have spent more time in there). The Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is a world class cultural hub in the making. While many will be quick to complain about the art exhibits and the variety, I personally appreciate that the PAMM has opted to amplify the voices of lesser known black and latinx artists. If you come to Miami and want to get a real taste of what Miami’s art scene has to offer, the PAMM is a great place to start—the exhibits are a melting pot, much like the locals who call this place home. Aside from the exhibits, the PAMM is situated on prime real estate, so if you finish walking around and taking in the exhibits and are in the mood for a different kind of art, there is a park (believe it’s called millennium park?) located right next door where you can have a picnic by the water or facing downtown’s cityscapes. In all, the PAMM promises a plethora of local art with a view and I would recommend this place to tourists and locals alike.

Surely there are better museums, because this museum is so lacking in real art. I have been to art museums all over the U.S. and also some in Europe, and I rate this the worst. The best exhibit is a group of miniature boats hanging from the lobby ceiling. Beyond that, one large wall painting, a film about African Americans and the While the Dew is Still on the Roses werent boring or awful. Some decent photos as well.To be fair, Im not a fan of some contemporary art. My feeling is if I have to read an explanation about why a work is good, then its likely not good. A single photo of two or three books leaning on a pice of square wood did not evoke any emotion in me except to think who is the curator of this museum and why was this piece chosen? There was the seemingly obligatory mirror image geometric painting in two colors and the painting of straight colored lines, both of which almost anyone could have painted. I think the artists on display had become famous somehow in the past, and now are able to create something facile and call it art. I thought this was a waste of time.

Beautiful architecture, land and scenery. Modern spacious structure perfect for displaying art. Unfortunately the art collection is curated poorly, most of the pieces try to make a political statement and there is too much aggression in the artworks. Worth the visit but don’t expect to be blown-away. Try to get some sort of discounted fee if possible, though. It’s a little pricey for its size/variety. Also, Bank of America card holders get in for free (as we were told at the ticket counter, I don’t remember seeing this info on their website). So if you have that, make sure to bring it and present it when purchasing your ticket.I especially appreciated their Latin-American and African/African-diaspora collection, which unfortunately isn’t something I see very often in museums. That said, the museum is much smaller than I imagined and frankly, I found the narrative somewhat limited.BEWARE: parking was hellish, even though their car park is far from cheap. We were let in but given 10min to find a stop or would be charged 12$ regardless. We struggled but managed to find one. Use public transportation or uber if you can.
