This place should be a tourist destination! Hands down one of my favorite stores Ive EVER been in! Best wholesome selection anywhere Ive found in California! We were traveling towards Muir beach/ woods and found this treasure. Biggest selection of bulk goods, amazing veggie/ fruit set up, incredible food deli items very gourmet but natural. One beware... you wont find your typical junk food fair; youll have to opt for healthier choices. They also had cute displays, attractive eating surroundings, and other types of interesting items. A definite place to stop and shop if youre not fortunate enough to live nearby! A bit on the pricey side but seemed more worth it than other high quality stores. You know theyve got something when you go and feel like taking pictures of a grocery store! I HOPE Ill visit here again!
Love the store. Thanks for supporting organic farmers. Those cardamon shortbread cookies are ridiculously good. The watermelon juice was so fresh and flavorful. I always find unusual items I cant find in other stores. Its a pleasure to shop there.
Everything is Organic for one thing. You dont have to differentiate. Excellent prepared food and café/bakery. Smoothies. Natural health products and supplements. Produce. Top notch👌🏼
I love this grocery store so so much!! The outdoor fire pit is also the coolest addition I’ve ever seen on a grocery store. They have very high quality health foods and other sustainable products and herbal medicines.
Companies that make a habit out of spending money to tell lies for no reason need to be disbanded. Good Earth Mill Valley paid somebody to go on the Internet and lie that they have curbside pickup. They also paid somebody to literally physically PAINT CURBSIDE PICKUP ON THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. They did not bother to pay anybody to think about how to actually deliver that service though. They seemed deeply confused, frustrated, and full of consternation about my expectation to have them follow through with that. Then when I called from the parking lot, somebody lied to me and said hed bring it out to me at the door. Instead, he met me at the door and walked me to the farthest corner of the store to get my burger then to the other farthest corner of the store for my gelato. I ended up getting a refund for the Gelato because I didnt need it in the first place and didnt want to give irrespective people any more money.Serving the easiest mass demographic in the easiest way possible is fine. Advertising that theyre more mindful and gracious than they actually are is pretty on brand with South Marin culture. Im not shocked but Im gonna keep talking about this until Im satisfied with the influence Im emitting about it.And the burger was tolerable but not very good.
Nice grocery store, has a bakery and coffee shop inside. Also had hot gluten free cheese pizza, didnt try it. I tried their gluten free pastry, great. They also have gluten free bread. Plus lots of organic food. Place looks nice and clean also. Service was good. Great zhop.
Good store, the hot bar food has no taste though, would not recommend lunch here. They shouldnt advertise that they can make food that they honestly cannot. Worst pad Thai and yellow curry I have ever had. Could make it better at home myself
Good, bougie food spot with great sourcing and natural/organic products. Pricing is a bit high (even for Marin), but products are of great quality. Store organization leads to some rush time craziness.
Fabulous salad pizza & soup. Greg one of the floor managers in Fairfax is a ray of sun. The florist is kind & fabulous in Fairfax.Unfortunately many of us can not afford to shop there yet they have beautiful produce. It is a bit like a food museum. You can look yet not afford to buy anything.Organic food should not just be for the wealthy. No wonder one of my best friends stopped shopping at the Good Earth & buys organic food at Costco instead.Selling unaffordable organic food that many of us who grew up in Marin cant afford is heartless. We need a huge food CO-OP instead. By the people for the people. The Good Earths high prices are just not do able & their excuses for them after they bought a costly ranch on San Antonio Rd in Petaluma are just lame. Sorry Good Earth your prices make many of us unable to shop there for groceries. Dont you get that??? Not everyone in Marin is married to a movie director. I am a true believer that organic food should be affordable for everyone.
Almost Minus 1 star cause Prices are high (similar to/higher than whole foods) but lots of unique selections of high quality products- Im guessing its independently owned so competing with Whole foods & Molly Stone must be tough. Blueberry Lavender Ice Cream was great ($7.99 i think so it BETTER BE GREAT!) & Ive never seen it anywhere else.Cashier that rang me up was so perky and enthusiastic! Id go back just to have her ring me up again! She brightened my day with her positive energy!Word to Management: Give that girl a raise and treat her well- shes a treasure you dont want to loose!!!😁😁😁😁
The one star is for the quiche. Both the spinach and the mushroom leave a lot to be desired. Dont bother.
The deli sandwiches and seafood curry rice tasty very nice. I sometimes drop by just for lunch.
I would like to marry the cheese man there.Besides that awesome vibes and super convenient if you are checking out Muir Woods/Beach. Such a positive vibe throughout the whole place.
I wasnt impressed by the sandwich I had there. At first it was fine, but some bites were unknown crunchy. Maybe I ordered the wrong sandwich? The order took too long, and looks like they were careless to the customer. My last bite of my sandwich had a hair in it! Ick! Please give workers more bread l s, and insure better hygeine.
Beautiful store. Lots of healthy food choices for vegans and vegetarians.
Employees are not that welcoming to tourists. Cafe staff are nice. Chai Tea Latte was decent.
Good selection. A bit like a Whoe Foods used to be. Same sort of prices. The man at the cheese department was reluctant to give me service.
Anyone traveling through on their way to Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, or really anything should stop here if theyre hungry. Good portions of freshly made food, and made quickly. Will definitely be getting my Marin meals here from now on.
Got my rare flourless bread. This shop is so unique and you will find produce and special items that are not from big manufactureres. They have so much respect for local businesses.
We love this store. Its clean, the staff is always friendly and we love the food in the hot foods section.
Lady in supplement department was very helpful. Selection of supplements not so good.
Well stocked, diverse selection, overpriced. Perfect for Marin Couny
This is a great market to purchase healthier snacks for my family before heading to the beach. We can grab lunch, coffee, and anything else we need to make our beach day complete.
Nice atmosphere and an awesome cheese 🧀 selection!
Wonderful grocery store. Great selection of food and very friendly staff.
Best grocery store in the Bay Area!!! Especially for vegan options
Great to-go food; best french bagette in the bay and very good cheese assortement ! pro tip : sit down in the sun on the terrase to eat you lunch on a sunny day
If you do not stop here. You miss what CA is in the mind of most. Natural, whole some California health foods. The store is an art form of good things to eat. Snack central for healthy drives.
Im going ahead with five stars, but mainly because of trend and social pressures which want us to buy overpriced natural food. For example, we got some cookies here that managed to last a couple days in the car on our drives, and were fondly if not untruthfully referred to by us as dirt cookies. Support Local! Support Natural!
Very expensive. If you dont drive a Mercedes Benz 2020 or newer I wouldnt recommend it. The cashier was alright.
Lots of organic produce, and you can find some unique veggies. The yellow, cherry tomatoes were so sweet. There gluten free, vegan cakes that taste pretty good for what they are. However, my boyfriends smoothie from the smoothie place inside didnt taste very good. Prices are a bit expensive, along the lines of whole foods.
This place is always a winner I started with their store and Fairfax and now go regularly to the one in Mill Valley cuz thats where I live. Its so much work to prepare fresh food thats healthy and their commitment to organic sustainable quality ingredients shows and everything they make and sell. Dont miss this place theyre the best and what a lucky community we are to have such a great resource :-)
High quality firewood! Terrible selection of sausages. Fair selection of chilled beer. Can you tell we stopped on our way to Muir Beach?
Great selection of produce. Staff is super nice and they manage the crowd well.
This is a fine store with high quality foods and in fact if you get the natural organic apple sweetened cranberries theyre the best dried cranberry experience youll ever have. However I do have to mention it is an expensive store for comparisons a package of 4 oz of sliced smoked salmon is $11 here and if you go to the New York bagel shop just down the road its only $8 and if you go to Safeways its even less.
Great grocery store with killer smoothies and cafe
Good selection, Good size location. But full retail, high markup. Not much on sale. More expensive than Whole Foods on produce and same items. For example today a pint of organic raspberries was going for 3.99, this store 6.98. Beber almond milk $12.49 + .10crv 😲 Rosies organic boneless skinless chicken breast I got $5.99 at another store was $9 a pound here. It is Mill Valley though 🤷♂️.
They have a bit of everything, very good quality food.
No place like good earth. this is the most amazing grocery store you will ever ever go into. they have so many organic options like I have never seen before in a grocery store. you can feel the love when you walk in. I would make any excuse to go inside haha 10/10 recommend
Very clean store, many different kinds of clean drinks & groceries.
My go to grocery store for Sure. GE has the best produce and all departments in the stores - I visit Fairfax and MV almost daily-Have great product selection and quality. These stores are community hubs and the staff that work in each local are so amazing. Thanks GE staff!!
If you want to shop and not have to ask WHERE IS ORGANIC PRODUCE or Is it made with organic? Even all the meat is organic including the pork!
Great organic store. Expensive and yummy foods. Great for order out too.
Outstanding, great produce all fresh. Nice selection of vine.
Obsessed with this store. Wish there was one in the city
Ordered a salami & cheese sandwich on sourdough. The roll was not really sourdough - more like a whole wheat. All in all, it was just not a very good sandwich compared to other delis around.
The hot pad Thai noodles in the back of the store are the best in the bay! Add mushrooms 😍
I have higher interest working in the kitchen with my coworkers and I love working with my interest in food development scenery and its so much fun to do
The produce is really fresh at the Good Earth. I also appreciate their limiting the number of shoppers.
This is an awesome place to find all your organic needs. My favorite things here are their live culture apple cabbage krut and their organic air processed already baked chicken. They also make awesome wheat free pizza.
Great place with great people and food but kitchen often get orders wrong which is very frustrating
Good selection of products, specially the bulk items. Some items overpriced.
What an amazing grocery store!! Nothing like it! Privately owned, 100% ORGANIC and completely conscious about their choice of vendors, farmers and products. Everyone that works there is friendly, knowledgable and appreciative of this truly unique store. 100% organic deli — where can you find that? So often places like this get bought out. I’m so tired of the non organic cheap produce in the Whole Foods deli. I’m so tired of stores claiming to carry organic when only 20% is actually so. I’m so tired of grocery stores carrying produce from huge conglomerates who care little of their quality. I’m so tired of chemicals and pesticides in the food we eat. We are living in an age where farmers are being bought up by corporations everywhere. At the Good Earth —you’ll still find local farmers represented and truly caring owners and staff. They live their values, truly. They walk their talk. Highly, highly recommend.
The Good Earth manager apologized for an order mishap I had a few weeks ago and set things straight. Great customer service!
Very Impressive store. Even had a Delicious cake, Vegan, No Wheat, No Gluten!
If they had rooms I would live here. This place is about as wonderful as a supermarket can get! Salad and hot bars are amazing. Incredible baked goods too. Highly recommend
LOVE Good Earth.Someone else doing the cooking, with all the quality, organic ingredients I would use at home.Best salad bar anywhere. Try the Peruvian dressing - its so delicious.Great hot bar. Bowls, sandwiches, stir fry, etc made to order. Its a nice space to shop in with a good selection.Theres a nice outdoor patio with a fire.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
With covid measures they have made their store nearly impossible to shop. They also don’t give you the option to grind your coffee there any more. When I saw they didn’t have a grinder, I figured that they would label their packages as whole bean. They didn’t and now I wasted money on coffee I have no way of consuming. They also font make it clear how they want check out lines to work. They really need to do better about communicating with their customers.
Great place for natural and organic foods. Slightly on the pricey side but worth it. I advise customers to cook any meat purchased within a couple of days of purchasing.
Locally owned natural food grocery featuring a juice and coffee bar as well as a steam table and salad bar that are well - stocked with organic, vegetarian, and vegan selections. There is also an order-at-the-counter cafe with burritos, sandwiches, made - to - order stir-fries, and more. Fresh pizza by the slice, and prepared foods too. All the produce here is organic. Employees are super- helpful. This place hits it out of the park! Recommended.
Kale Chips from Pennsylvania?! Yes.
Great store, but not very friendly.
They have everything. Also they have a full kitchen with Mexican food, hot/cold sandwiches, pizza, flat breads, wok options, any more things. I was amazed by all the freshly made foods. This does not even begins to touch the bakery and grab and go foods.
Beautiful store. Great options. Prices are a bit high in comparison to other health food stores and staff couldve been more friendly while directing patrons during the COVID. Other than that, good experience.
Great store, lots of organic vegies, a lot of vegan and vegetarian options to go; pricy but worth it. I love their freshly squeezed beet juice :)
This is the absolute best place to buy groceries in the planet! EVERYTHING is organic. All of the meat is sourced from local, humane farms. Their prepared foods section is incredible. Their barista bar, smoothies, and pastries are delicious. Theres a fire pit and seating outside. You truly cant find a better shopping experience. I wish more grocery stores were like this!
This place is amazing! A strong rival for Whole Foods/Amazon. I wonder if this is the same Good Earth from Fairfax, the old time market from the 70s that is an iconic local market dedicated to community and sustainability up in Fairfax, CA ..... same county. At any rate, I just patronized the store for the first time and I was impressed. Deli was fantastic with lots of, and different from WF, choices. There is plenty of indoor seating and the store is large, spacious, and seems to have everything! I will go back soon, highly recommended!
I love this place it has almost everything I need but a bit pricey. If I can afford to this is my go to. Next in Whole Food, Trader Joe’s then Safeway. Good Earth has rare and hard to find times, awesome hot food and prepared food bar and counter. They have an amazing place to eat in and outside, with a fire pit which quite often has some musicians strumming some tunes. It’s local, sustainable, friendly and one of my fave spots to eat, shop and hang!
Good -vibe big natural foods grocery store with pretty great hot food bar including an area where they will fry up stuff you choose. Were lucky we have this place in the area. I always go there to eat when Im in south Marin County.
Their hot sandwiches at the deli and pastries are really tasty. i picked up a tempeh sandwich and a banana oat cake after a hike, and both hit the spot. the indoors and outdoors seating are a nice touch. i also like that they encourage people eating at the store to use their reusable plates. highly recommend stopping by here on the way to or after a day up mount tam!
Thought i was in a whole foods for a second. Very nice people great selection of things
I had to take a phone call while shopping which caused me to slow down my shopping process because I was focusing on the phone call and so I was standing in front of the strawberries for a while while I talked on the phone. Every associate is looking at me as if I am doing something wrong ? And then twice the manager came up to me and asked what I was doing and I explained I was on the phone so I just needed a minute to decide what I wanted instead of just grabbing my stuff and moving on. And then once I got off the phone I continued to shop and the manager came up again and basically assumed I was stealing and when I asked why ? He said “ because people don’t just stand around like that for so long. Obviously it creates tension” in a very acuseing tone. Being very dismissive. Like man, have you ever seen someone steal something ? Why would they make themselves so noticeable standing in the open fruits section for so long if they are trying to be inconspicuous? Anyways, this store is ridiculously overpriced and the staff makes you very uncomfortable staring at your every move. Very strange ambiance. Even though I just spent $50 on groceries with them they still acted like they wanted to stick their heads in my bag to see if I was stealing ? Very rude and passive aggressive. Super unfortunate because I really thought this was gonna be my new favorite grocery store.
Nice clean and good all around.
Great Store to pick up some snacks en route to Mt Tam
Love love love. May be a bit pricey, but standard for a local natural grocery. They have a fresh juice bar, big selection of hot bar and fresh made sandwiches and burritos. Lots of cool products and kitchenware. Big bulk section. A big inside and outside seating area. WiFi. And a fire pit outside where people hang out old school style.
Very large variety. I found some items that have been out of stock at online stores for months!
Employees were very rude to me multiple times and Tue food selections were not great, but there bread was good.
They have a great salad bar and vegetarian hot bar, with several gluten-free options. Everything is clearly marked for food allergies/sensitivities. They usually have a variety of soups, including chicken soup, chili and some vegetarian choices. Favorite spot in Marin to get organic, local groceries. It can be pricey though, so it helps to price check and compare with other stores.
Even more overpriced than whole foods. Staff is polite and knowledgeable. Parking lot is terribly designed and the spaces are too small for the standard Marin county European SUV. Do they not know who their clientele are?
The best organic market Ive ever seen! In addition to the regular products, theres a hot food bar, salad bar, deli counter and made to order Mexican and Asian stations. And fresh pizza, baked goods, etc.
I just tried their pizza in their deli. Terribly blend.
Excellence to the core.Really, the prices are so worth it here.Customer service is not a selling point, because the food speaks for itself. Many local, organic, beautiful foods. You can find niche items and only those made in smaller batches such as full belly farms goods.I love that I can find almost everything I need and that they support local farmers.
Fabulous flowers and very safe shopping experience!
Good Earth brings a lot to the plate. Friendly service, clean store, well organized. Theres plenty of variety between their hot bar and sandwich, burrito, pizza, and wok bowl stations. Lots of options for cold packaged ready-to-eat meals too. They have a very large vegan selection throughout the whole store which is very favorable to me. And I also like how they put their ready to go salads and soups in mason jars. As long as you grab one of those once in a while then youll never need to buy mason jars again!
Good produce, cheese and meat but not the place to do all your shopping.
Good selection.
Nice market and friendly guys
My go-to stop for a packed lunch on my way to Mt. Tam or Tennessee Valley. This store is always clean, incredibly stocked, and very accessible. Everything you could possibly want is there: food, personal care products, socks, scarves, cookware, dietary supplements...and clean restrooms. If I lived in Mill Valley I would shop here over Whole Foods for sure.
Love this place
