I had a marvelous experience taking a recently acquired student model cello in for inspection to Mr. Steve Thomas violin shop. We arrived at 5pm, as early as we could, from Stockton and were warmly greeted into the shop. I was so pleased with Steves level of attention taking the time to patiently explain the condition of the instrument, how to tune it, and adjust the bridge, to a couple of novices. There was nothing majorly wrong with the instrument, luckily, but without realizing it, we had stayed well past the shops opening hours. For all his time, he charged us nothing. We really felt like family here. I wish more people did business the way Steve does. Modesto and the Central Valley are fortunate to have a little traditional shop like this one. Ill certainly refer my string player friends here in the future.

Thomas is very knowledgeable and helpful! I have bought many instruments at this shop and they are extremely reliable. If there is ever a problem they do their best to fix it giving you the best possible deal.

Incredible musical instruments!

Knowledgeable expert and able to explain what was wrong and offered various solutions and price ranges to find what we were comfortable with. Took his time examining the instrument and determined that there was something off with the bridge and is going to craft a replacement.
