Castleton one is so much better. The food at this location seems dried up like it has been sitting out all day or burnt.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had a group of over 30 and they took very good care of us.
The food was amazing. We had the meatloaf lunch special and for desert we had strawberry shortcake. It seems expensive but it is well worth the cost.
Went to have dinner here and what my husband & I like the most is they dont change their recipes like everyone else, very nice experience!
Loved it. Everytime I come in I wanted bread pudding with your lemon sauce. You never have it. Friday you did. Loved it got some to go also.
If you know what good food is, Id suggest you eat elsewhere. Fried chicken isnt prepped right, get a slice of pecan pie and skidoooodle. The food doesnt look appetizing but once youre sandwiched in the line looking at the display of food, you realize its too late now. Theres no turning back. The leftovers look at you in disappointment knowing theyre never going to be eaten.

My son and I sat down and ate there yesterday evening and he got home and around 12am starting throwing up off and on. The chicken was not cooked the food was cold. Im pretty sure we got food poisoning from the food from here.

Have not been to a cafeteria in a long time. I had the pecan crusted white fish, it was really good! My granddaughter who doesnt like fish didnt know what it was but she ate half of my piece! I will go back just for the fish. I also had a pineapple, marshmallow and coconut salad that tasted like a candle smells. Will not order that salad again. Lol.. But the restraurant was clean and the people were very friendly. I will go back.
Excellent tasty food, and the all you can eat fried catfish dinner is a generous and tasty- steal of a deal!My only complaint is that a la cart prices can quickly exceed my budget, so I choose wisely and take advantage of their specials!Nice clean facilities, and friendly associates. We bring repeat business to MCL!

I only eat at the MCL for a change. The food is not reliably hot and the freshness and presentation leaves a lot to be desired. I assume that this place will be gone as more stores leave the mall. I been to cafeterias that serve their food on hot plates and the food was great.

Came here for the first time today and was NOT disappointed!! Had no idea what I was walking into but Im sure glad I did! The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The prices arent horrible and you get great food! Would highly recommend to anyone! I know we will definitely be coming back :)

I ordered their food through doordash and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the roast beef which was cold and there was barely any roast beef there for the amount that I paid for. The mac n cheese tasted extremely fake and processed like kraft. The mashed potatoes were more like pureed potatoes however they tasted pretty good. The devils food cake was pretty good but I am having my doubts that they make it in house. Very disappointed.
Ive been coming here so long, Im part part of the furniture. Truly, Muncies only has a couple cool places to eat like this left. The rest are cookie cutter chains. The food is So clean and good. Always exactly 💯 the same. Polished tables, perfect servers and all employees are the best. Always have been a❣️

My wife loves this place from her childhood days. I am not from the area so I was looking forward to this place.Food was bland but understandably so. Meaning most places make food with little seasoning and let clients season the way they want. They stay will within that criteria.Staff was very polite and attentive.

Went tonight. Ordered 2 chicken legs. Rude worker says you can’t get 2 legs you can only get a leg and thigh. How can a paying customer not order chicken? Won’t be going back.

MCL is consistently great. The staff is friendly and seems genuinely caring. The facility is always clean. The food tastes fresh and delicious. The prices are reflected in the quality. It is a fair trade for good food and good service. The vegetable plate is a good buy. I should have asked about meat seasoning in the spinach, though.

Absolutely love this place! They have a rotating selection of food everyday, so you can always get something new. Ive tried almost everything on the menu and enjoyed it all! The staff are all friendly and helpful as well. The prices are on the higher side, but its well worth it.

I like MCL good. However I was there last night and could not believe the way the woman manager was treating a young girl who had gotten me tartar sauce for my take out order. The young girl was berated by this woman because she didnt see her. Isnt that what customer service is about? I said something to the other manager and he stated shes crazy and will go off on anyone for the littlest thing. I would not want someone working for me who does that. Someone needs to be retrained how to treat individuals. MCL management needs to step in and reprimand this woman. This is probably the first job for this young lady. What a lasting memory for her.
I come to MCL frequently for my lunch breaks as I work in the Muncie Mall.I have never had an issue with MCL in my three years of eating here and they always have specials going on, my personal favorite being 99 cent Pecan Pie Thursdays!I also work in the food service industry and would appreciate if ALL employees used gloves (some do some do not) to serve guests.Food is always of high quality, especially the chicken breast.Most importantly I have yet to receive bad service from the employees at MCL and they are always on top of their game assisting guests with food selections, carrying trays to tables for them, getting them drinks, and keeping the dining area clean and tidy.MCL employees have top notch customer service skills in the Muncie Mall.
The food was fresh and hot. Table server was nice, but missed a couple of things that he said he would do. Possibly a college student that is new to the job. Not a big deal.
Food is never hot, only luke warm.

I like MCL, as much for nostalgia, as I do for the food. I have eaten there hundreds of times by now, and still look forward to the next visit. A cafeteria, as such, is a lost bygone era restaurant and they still do it right! Soul/comfort food all around. Fried Chicken is some of the best, other great entrees. Many sides, salads, and fresh prepared pies, cakes, other desserts and various baked breads like the cloverleaf roll, dont forget their cinnamon rolls. Still reasonable. Great place for thefamily and large banquet seating. They cater as well.
If you want that homemade old-fashioned taste, this is for you. Food is great quality. No longer a cheap option but worth a splurge now and then.

The service behind the counter to the waitress was not very friendly or helpful. The desserts and sides were good. The meat we got was cold in the center. Disappointed since this was the first time eating at a MCL. Doubtful Ill go back.

Had the all you can eat catfish with a side of mac and cheese.The catfish was $5.65 for all you can eat which in itself is a great value.Now the side of mac and cheese was $2.45 which in my opinion is a little overpriced.Add a glass of Mt. Dew for $2.39 and what looked like a cheap lunch into a little more than I wanted to pay for some catfish....
9 minutes for fresh chicken...so worth it. This is my sister and my go to place. Always good food and we always get more than we can eat. Are the mash potatoes real? I usually get the small plate of open faced beef Manhattan but its called something else. Probably the only place in town that has comfort food and healthy food in the same place. Its cafeteria style...get a tray and pick what you want as you go down the line..they have people who come to your table to check on you...never really know how to tip because we carry our own food to our table and usually get water.
I love the veggies so that’s what I usually get to eat. My husband loves meat soooo not for him.
Great food. Beef Manhattan for the win. I bet they are still using that wonder bread, that bloody roast beef on gourmet potatoes and gravy. Dont forget some desert. I get two helpings. That strawberry shortcake and that Custard. Ahh Mane! Old fashioned cooking, I get double meat and double mashed potato. Why dont you?
Really good food. As close to a home cooked meal you can get from a restaurant. Also the staff is really up beat and kind. Just extremely thrown off by the price of everything. I came here for lunch and didn’t order there special (definitely should have). Chicken, two sides, and a drink totaled 17$.. Guys come on, down the road I can get the same meal for 5$. I understand quality of food and service raise price. But that’s crazy. I hate not giving this place a 5 because the staff was really on it, but if you don’t order the daily special you are going to PAY.

We just got dessert & a drink but have eaten there also. They dont offer VETERAN discounts but offer discounts for seniors between 2 through 4 PM during the week days not sure about the weekends.

So miss the one in Anderson! Last time I went, there was this really sweet, friendly lady named Taylour, who made me feel like she was glad I came in. The food was wonderful. Seems like every time we go there are always some young people working there who go out of their way to help you!
Just great food, I have alway left full and happy. If ever in Muncie Indiana its a great place to eat. However the price is way to high.

Its cafeteria style food. You can see your food before you get it. Good foods and great desserts.
Good home-style food at fair prices. Ive had the Turkey and the beef and both were cooked well and tender/juicy. My only issue is the quantity of food they provide. If you mentally compare an $8 plate from here versus a $10 plate from, say, Dennys, it seems like they cut the entree a bit. If you have a slightly lower than normal appetite, this is a good place for value. If youre an eater, you might just leave still hungry unless you pile on the sides and go spendy. Overall recommended.
