I had a few musical instruments that I acquired and I didnt know if they were worth anything. I was completely clueless, I called The Music Stop and the lady over the phone was super nice and told me to come in and they would look at the stuff and offer to buy anything if it was worth it them. The lady and the gentleman behind the counter looked at all my items and told me what was wrong with the ones that needed repairs and gave me a very fair price on my other items. I absolutely recommend them and will be back if I ever need anything musical in the future. Thank yall for being patient and taking the time to look at my items.

Staff is super nice and warm. This place has a wonderful rental program as well. You will not be upset when you go here.

The shop has nice gear, big selection of instruments, amps, effects and the like. I’m giving 3 stars because of the sheer amount of incompetence of the employees. I inquired about an amplifier that is about 20 years old and sells very regularly on the used market for 150 dollars. I asked the price of the amp at their store. The employee had absolutely no idea. So he calls the owner and the owner says it’s going to be around 1000 dollars. He thought it was a very valuable tube amp, when all they would literally need to do was a simple google search. This is the most pathetically staffed music store I’ve ever been in. If you’re going to get in this industry then you need to know what you’re doing. I ended up buying an amp for a decent deal, and I was happy they offered a military discount. I just wish the staff knew more and cared more about their jobs and customers.

Terrible treatment by the repair person. Dont waste your time going there, he hs no clue! Owner should really vett his work and manners. I will never go there again!

This is a broad spectrum instrument store that seems to have only really good stuff. The salesperson was James. Very young and patient as he explained the ins and outs of several instruments I am interested in. I wanted s decent but not top of the line 12 string and we spent a good 15 minutes messing around with a new Alvarez. I am a true researcher and had already spent about 8 hours in travel and trying different 12 strings at 4 of the top music stores in and around Murfreesboro. So, for you who want to spend an hour or so on an instrument, just to make sure it feels right, you are fully aware of what the right one feels like, and if the price is in your pocket, you buy it! Thats what happened, and it was like the end of a long journey. They had sll great quality stuff with prices that really made me stop and think. It would be wise to stop in for whatever your instrument choice might be. I bought a $729 12 string for $429 and a hardshell case for $89. All prepriced. No haggling. Great place! Great purchase!

Small shop but very organized and clean set up. Picked up a desktop microphone stand for a good price. The staff was helpful, greeted me at the door and helped me select the best stand. We will return for other items in the future as this shop suits our needs better than Guitar Center.

I had met Allen at an event where he mixed for a friend of mine so I stopped by when I was in town for an evening. Ended up killing an hour of his time ( apologies :D ) and picking up a few things. Got exactly what I needed for a good price.

I stopped in today for the first time. I asked if they carried a specific product and the gentleman apologized saying they did not. He gave suggestions as to where I might find what I was seeking. The store was clean, organized, and well lit. The atmosphere was pleasant and the gentleman was polite and helpful. Nice first impression.

Went in and the customer experience was great. I ended up not buying in the store. So when I got home I called them back and bought the trumpet. I had the best experience with this store. I stumbled in looking for a guitar for a college class I was taking. I don’t know a thing about guitars but the young lady at the store the day I came in took such great care of me. She knew the course and professor I was taking and got me all squared away. As a college kid, they allowed me to take part in their in-house financing which was great because the instrument can be expensive when paying out of pocket. A few weeks later, I returned because the course did not work out for my busy work schedule, and I did not want to keep paying for a good guitar that I would not be able to enjoy like someone else could. The gentleman working the day I returned was just as kind with me and provided a full refund for the payment I had already made. That is how you provide customer care. I will recommend this store going forward and I hope to purchase my next instrument from here! Such great quality. Thank you!

Looking online for something you dont know much about can make your head swim sometimes. Everyone has an opinion of what they think is best. Went to The Music Stop today with a general idea of what i wanted. Was greeted immediately by Matt. I told him what i was looking for. He showed me some different options and the pros and cons. Was in and out in probably 10 minutes. Just cant explain how refreshing it is to have that kind of customer service. Thanks Matt!!!

Wonderfully knowledgeable and helpful! They definitely go above and beyond. We have gone in a couple times for supplies and help on new instruments and both times they have been incredibly helpful. Today my daughter went in for help stringing her new violin and they not only helped her put new strings on it, but showed her how to position the bridge, rosin the bow and gave her a basic run down on all the parts along with giving her some great tips for maintaining her instrument. The gentleman behind the counter (unfortunately I missed his name) must have spent a good 45 minutes helping her out and showing her some of the basics and wouldnt accept payment. We ended up buying a good tuner though, based on his recommendation. Prior to today, we had been in for supplies for her ukulele. They seemed just as knowledgeable about it also. I will definitely be returning for all my supplies in the future. Apparently they have expert repair as well. Very impressed.

What a weird store! Orange amps but epi guitars. Its right on the line between a beginners shop and an intermediate musicans shop. I suspect the majority of the sales are school band kids and lessons, which is great! But its not the store for me at my age and interest level. Ill still pick up some strings or picks if Im nearby but I dont imagine Ill be making any major purchases.EXTREMELY friendly and helpful staff, however.

We just rented a flute here for my daughters band class at school, and we were impressed with how easy the process was! Everything was taken care of online and the flute was ready and waiting for me to pick up. The guy who took care of checking it out to us in store was pleasant and efficient. I wish I didnt have to drive to Murfreesboro to do anything in person, BUT it does give me an excuse to visit stores while in the area that I miss frequenting since moving here, since Lebanon has limited retail store offerings.

Weve been a customer here for over 2 years renting band equipment for our kids. I recently purchased an instrument for our son this year (over a $1,000 purchase) Service seemed to be good, so I had them do a set up / adjustment on my bass guitar. I was quoted $65 and that it included new strings. Got it back today, paid $71.43 (tax) and it had my old muddy strings on it. The answer I was given was that new strings were not included, I had been misinformed, and that they would restring it for free but I had to purchase my own strings. I dont really care so much about the price as much as I dislike being quoted something and receiving something else in the end. The answer was just, Sorry, thats what you get So child number 2 is now playing in the band and we will NOT purchase our instrument from this store. They lost another $1000 sale because of $20 strings. I recommend Concert Music Supply instead at 217 W Main St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.

Well, I traded my amp (in addition to handing over 400 bucks) for a software. The store told me it would probably come within two or three days, which I was really happy about, but so far its been 9 days and I still havent received anything. Im usually not an impatient person, but handing over 600$ to someone and then going this long without having a product in hand is kind of nerve-racking. I may use the store again, since its one of the only music stores in murfreesboro, but I will never have them order anything for me above 5$.

They were down in inventory due to the holidays but seem like they will have a decent amount of instruments to choose from when they restock. From brass to banjos. I would expect if I ever do get to buy something there they will get another star. Ill definitely have them in mind.

I wish a never went to this place ...i recently went to this store to rent my two girls.instrument for the school band and we mistake the date on the agreement slip so the start charge 2 months early then when a try to fix it the say they can do nothing about it and they give me a number to call in nj. But nobody awnser the phone i finally give up and send the 2 months rent but this is not gonna end here thats for sure hope u guys take my advice and go somewhere else......

I purchased two sound systems from The Music Stop for specific uses with my company, one of them stopped working after only 5 times of being used. When I spoke to the employee he said the salesman sold me the wrong piece of equipment for my application anyway. He was being very helpful and was going to take care of the issue till he found out it had been more than 14 days since i made the purchase then it was cold shoulder and no more help. Now I have to purchase another system for use while i wait for the chinese manufacturrer to fix mine. I will never return.

Ive gone here mostly because theyre are not that many places to go around Murfreesboro for music supplies. I have found that they are incredibly over priced! Example: I bought a Hite mouthpiece for my daughters clarinet when hers broke. I made the mistake of breaking the seal on the mouthpiece before I made the decision the very next day to purchase a completely new clarinet. When I called the store to ask about returning it, they told me that it was against the law for them to accept the mouthpiece back! LOL! I reminded them that they had my daughters clarinet for repair, and assured them that she had not even touched the new one, that I was the one that opened it to look at it....Anyway, the manager, Mike got on the phone and told me he would go ahead and take it back but said Well go ahead and eat it because we can only sell it as used. Great customer service there to someone has purchased everything for her daughters clarinet from you and hasnt even thought to look online or anywhere else....So, after being shamed into keeping it, I looked online for other things for my daughters new clarinet, and found one listing after another with the same mouthpiece for anywhere from $10.00 cheaper to as low as 50% cheaper!!!! So, now on top of being angry for the way they treated me, I feel just outright ripped off! No wonder they didnt want to take it back! I realize they would say that they cant offer the prices that are found online because they are a retail location, however, most of what I found online were music stores that also sell online! Anyway, I would only go in there again out of desperation, though I dont ever see that happening since most things can be delivered to my door for cheaper and in 2 days or less!!!!Moral of the story: Customer service is everything! Maybe had they not treated me that way, I would never thought about looking online and would actually enjoy bringing my business to the local music store!

Tried to call them seven times today and got a busy signal each time. They need more phone lines or need call waiting. If they would actually add anything to their website where we could look up availability prices etc. there would be no need to call to get a price on something. I should not have to drive across Murfreesboro just to see if they have something.

This is our family music store. We found this place last year and each time we we stop in for equipment, strings or for the kids to have their music lessons, we have always been treated like family by all the staff members. I have been to many other places that dont come close to what The Music Stop provides.
