I try to shop local as much as possible. They did not have a body only of the camera I wanted, so had to go online. However, they did have the adapter for this body so I could use my current lenses. They said that they would not sell they adapter, (which is boxed and priced separately by the way), to someone who did not buy the camera at their store. Well, what if someone bought a camera kit and didnt need or want to purchase an adapter?? Now you have extra adapters. This bothered me enough to write this review. If someone is willing to buy from you, you should be willing to sell to them. I will find another camera shop to use moving forward.

Ordered a used expensive (to me) lens over the internet from here. Very impressed with their honest descriptions, speed of ordering and shipping. They even list a phone number where most do not. Yes, they answer the phone as well. I could not be more pleased in doing business with these folks. The lens I received was exactly as described. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase. I have bookmarked this site for my future photography needs.

This is an OUTSTANDING place to do business! I had a Nikon SB900 flash that wasnt powering on. I had initially gone to two other Camera stores in Grand Rapids. The clerks at both stores inserted the batteries and said, yeah it doesnt turn on you should just buy a new one its not work fixing. I was already going to Muskegon for another reason and called first because I was close to closing time. They said, we close early but we will be here. I couldnt make it that night but the next morning I stopped in. It ended up being a simple fix. They cleaned the contacts. It turned on AND there was not charge. They saved me a lot of money and in turn, they now have a loyal customer. I cannot thank them enough.

I am very happy with my buying experience and purchase. I had already picked out a camera from the store off their website, but wanted to test the zoom. The person working didnt try to upsell items to me, which I greatly appreciated. Instead, they listened to what I needed the camera for (nature photography) and recommended a bag and extra battery that would make my hobby easier. I didnt feel pushed into purchasing things I didnt need, which is very important to me. Im extremely happy with the camera, but the customer service is what would bring me back and have me recommending the store to other people.

Greetings,I brought some 8mm family films in for conversions into digital file (mp4). The turnaround was approximately one week. The video conversion was very good. However, upon reviewing the material, one of the files had music added to it, which was not part of the order. I brought my concerns to Justin, who promptly resolved the discrepancy to my satisfaction. Overall, recommended.

Had such a great experience here!! Justin was very helpful and patient with me as I am very new to photography and dont know much about it. He not only listened to me to truly understand what I was looking for but he also really explained the specs of each camera to me and demonstrated it for me as well. He also stayed after closing time to help me in my decision making process and not once did I feel rushed! Ill admit, Ive always been hesitant to visit a camera shop as I assumed the prices would be inflated and the customer service would be geared toward selling you what the owner wanted to sell... Not the case with The Camera Shop. Justin was friendly, explained everything well, and turned us on to some products that we hadnt considered previously. He explained his personal bias, but left the decision to us. Check them out regardless of where youre at in your purchasing process!

I had occasion to do business at The Camera Shop twice over the last several months, once for a purchase and the second for a repair issue. Both times proved to be great experiences. The young man with whom I worked on both occasions was very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He spent a great deal of time with me and went above and beyond to help me both with my purchase and again with my repair. The Camera Shop has been a fixture in the Muskegon area for many, many years. We are fortunate to have such an outstanding business, and I highly recommend it for any and all photography needs.

After researching Consumer Reports, and talking with friends/photographers for recommendations I knew the only place to buy a camera would be at The Camera Shop. I didnt dare risk buying my DSLR camera from a big box store (Best Buy, Target, etc). I needed to talk to someone who KNEW what they were talking about, someone who worked at a camera store because of their love of photography, not just a sales clerk at a store who just works there for the paycheck. We were both so impressed that he even remembered our names when we walked into the store after a week and a half. We had only been there once before. Just an incredible customer-focused mentality. In the end, we walked out of the store with two cameras, both set up to help us achieve EXACTLY what we wanted. He never tried to sell us something we didnt need, or guide us toward a specific product just because he sells it, but instead was focused on educating us and making sure we would be happy with the products we bought. I have been shopping at The Camera Shop for a year now and I drive 45 minutes to get individualized help with all my camera needs. I wont shop anywhere else. Justin knows his stuff about everything photography related and only tries to sell you what you need. He asks what you are trying to accomplish and gives you multiple suggestions to choose for yourself. He never pushes products or favors one brand over another. The Camera Shop offers a variety of products and brands along with a wide selection of printing options to preserve your memories. First off, having a specialty store such as the Camera Shop in your home town is luxury many take for granted. I have learned over the years as a traveling consultant that stores such as these are few and far between.I am currently a semi-professional shooter that travels the US throughout the year doing my real job and only buy my gear and get my technical advice from the team at Muskegon Camera Shop. I have been buying gear, the right way mind you, from Justin Stubleski and Jim Beebe for over 10 years now. Never have I been unable to ask questions regarding what gear is best suited for my needs, should I think of one brand over the other and what are my options financially. Photography is not a cheap hobby or profession and I can honestly say that from my first Sony midlevel entry camera to my professional a7 bodies and now my Olympus OMD system, Justin and the team have had my back every step of the way.
