I visit here all the time. You can find just about anything here! Customer service is always friendly. And yes, they require masks.Just like everyone in this country, they have the right to enforce whatever they feel is best. They dont discriminate, they are doing their part to help prevent the spread of a virus.I highly recommend going there to find your antiques. Lucretias corner is my favorite. And she is always willing to help you find anything your heart desires.
This place is huge! There is a large variety of treasures to browse, and it was really fun poking around. I was happy to find a couple of things to bring home with me!
After reading the reviews for this store, I was not surprised to see that my experience was like so many others. You look forward to going to find something you love only to be met with the rudest people who own the store. Im not sure why they cant grasp the fact that the issue is them? Delusion? I found the same complaints in all the reviews. Here is a montage of the highlights from reviews. She was very angrywe were greeted with a not-so-nice womanWhat I was surprised about was how irritable the female owner was to me.Discrimination of people with disabilitiesThe store owner’s complete lack of remorse at the rude way they conducted themselves should tell you something.Sadly today’s shopping experience took my impression from bad to worse. After I politely chatted with them in one last ditch effort to break the general icinessI go to antique stores to relax and enjoy a rare afternoon to myself. At most places I go I encounter big smiles and friendly service. I usually come home with a few treasures! But at Village Antiques I tend to feel unwelcome.I have been a customer of Village Antiques for several years and have overlooked their unfriendly attitudeThe owners have always been standoffish and usually find a way to be critical or snobby about whatever it is I am looking for. I always try to engage them in friendly chat, but to no avail.I was only in the shop for no more than a few minutes before an extremely terse woman came up to meI found an item that I was interested in and turned to a woman and asked if she worked there, in a huff she reluctantly came over, it felt like I was putting her out.If she is one of the owners, well, that’s unfortunate, I think she’s lost a lot of customers during an already hard time for businesses.we were greeted with a not-so-nice womanif you must have an explanation as to why you received 1 star its because of poor customer service in the past!Unfortunately this store has almost always been a uniquely bad experience. The owners have always been standoffish and usually find a way to be critical or snobby about whatever it is I am looking for. I always try to engage them in friendly chat, but to no avail.they were very cold and rude terrible customer service again so sad 😥 the only one who is nice and kind and tends to each customer is the beautiful lady dressed in vintage with the vintage hat.The buying experience is everything. Donita is a true liability to this establishment. Shes curt, unpleasant, exudes anger, aggression, sarcasm, is rude, demeaning and contempt if you have a question or approach her in ANY WAY. Her mannerisms, attitude, body language, words and facial expressions literally exude that you as a customer are a huge inconvenience to her. If she has ever smiled at anyone, Im sure it was by accident.
After browsing around most of the store with no problem, my brother and I decided to check out the area downstairs. Half-way through looking around downstairs, a lady singled me out in front of several others angrily saying, Maam. Then she tapped her nose several times while glaring at me. After a second, I realized my face mask had fallen below my nose and I had no problem putting it back up. After I did, she promptly walked away. No please and certainly no thank you. I was left feeling embarrassed, singled-out, and everyone else around me looked uncomfortable. I dont know if it was because I am a younger woman or what as to why she felt authorized to interact with me in this way. When we encountered her again by the stairs a few minutes later, I decided to ask her what her name was, for the purpose of telling somebody up front about my experience. She aggressively asked, “Why?” and before I could say anything, she was already telling me, “so you can write a bad google review” (which obviously I decided later was a great idea). It’s safe to say she did not want me to know her name. I was getting flustered by her aggression at this point and as I tried to get words out, she just kept talking over me. I turned around and walked back upstairs at this point. As I did, we heard another person tell this woman, “you know, you could have been more polite.”I went to tell the lady up front at the register about my experience, (where several other people were wearing masks below their noses) who told me that they were sensitive about masks right now because Covid had recently hit close to home, which is understandable. However, it appears this has been a problem with others long before now. Honestly, if having a mask above nose versus not is that big of a deal, you might as well have a sign that says, “do not touch anything in the store.”Clearly, this was not a “mask issue” as I had no problem putting my mask over my nose, it was a customer service issue because of how the situation was handled. This was the first time I had been to this store and I will not be going back. If this lady is a vendor there, I would tell the store it is not worth keeping her around. If she is one of the owners, well, that’s unfortunate, I think she’s lost a lot of customers during an already hard time for businesses.Edit for response to owner: As I said, others (not just me), felt your staff member did not handle the situation properly and was flat out rude. Thanks for proving my point about your horrible lack of awareness for what good customer service is. If you are too busy to treat customers right, you should probably just close back up.
Loved walking through all the stores in that block. Lots of stuff I havent seen in years. Memories galore
I love this place the antiques are amazing I bought a perfume bottle and I love the scent and staff are very kind and helpful I will be coming again.
This place is terrible. Many great items for purchase but theres no need to go HERE when there are other antique stores, EBAY, ETSY, and Amazon to shop at. The people working the desk (2 elderly women) were very unfriendly and followed us around seemingly assuming we were going to steal something. There were coins I wanted to see (6 dollars of pennies) and she was pushy and not allowing me to look at them or hold onto them. She seemed angry I was shopping there. This place is seriously lacking in customer service. I fully recommend shopping anywhere but here.
This place was super nice and had items of superb quality but was a bit pricey (in part because of that). Lots of unique items youll probably never see anywhere else. The place is a lot bigger than it appears on the outside. Lots of interesting vendors who take a lot of time to create a delightful atmosphere. The furniture in the basement of the main store is to die for. If youre looking for a special and/or rare item and money is no object, this is the place for you.
Love this store could spend all day 😍
Fun place to browse. Basement, too. Antique store prices, but clean and attractive store with great variety.
Browsing an antique store is meant to be a pleasant, nostalgic experience. It takes us back to times that resonate with us. People love and cant wait to enjoy an hour reminiscing about objects theyve seen and hunt for that perfect treasure. Ive frequented Village Antiques for years. I can say Ive never had a warm experience there from staff, except Lucretia. Today was the worst experience in a retail situation that you could possibly even imagine. In a five minute exchange with Donita, I came to the disappointing realization that I will NEVER EVER NEVER enter this store again. The buying experience is everything. I cant even imagine what redeeming qualities she has that would possibly keep her husband by her side. He owns the store, how could he not see that as a customer service oriented store, she will ruin any shoppers experience. There is no over priced item in that store that I could possibly want bad enough, to endure dealing with such an abrasive person. In all the times Ive shopped in the store, you are watched like a hawk because you are not a customer, you are a potential thief. The buying experience is just as important as the treasure you are trying to find. My friend and I went in today hoping to shop, which we didnt do and were left dumbstruck by Donitas behavior. Our mistake was asking her a question. She has no customer service skills and as I stated is a liability to the store. Im a vendor in another antique store and I cant imagine this store representing me and my inventory. I just had to shake my head at the thought that there are people in this world who are truly ugly. There are so many surrounding antique stores that give the best customer service, reasonable prices and are happy to see you....and treat you that way. It isnt necessary or wise to even step foot in Village Antiques for the risk of running in to Donita..........After reading the owners response its clear they missed the message about creating a a positive buying experience. We werent trying to sell you anything but inquired if you would be interested in the things from my booth. But you already know that. That wasnt the point. Maybe there is a course in customer service where you could learn the skill set for giving a positive experience to your customers? I feel bad when people dont want to learn from their mistakes. As I stated Im always shocked by peoples rude behavior, especially when they work in a customer service oriented business. Some people cant learn or make a conscious decision to not want to learn to do and be better. Not my loss.
I came to Boise for the weekend from out of town and my cousin brought me here to shop. I found an item that I was interested in and turned to a woman and asked if she worked there, in a huff she reluctantly came over, it felt like I was putting her out. I guess she didnt really want to sell the item in the case because she directed me to a lesser quality item in the basement. I will never return to this establishment.
The lady we met with was very helpful and gave me her card said if i needed anything to call her.
Great stuff at decent prices, with outstanding service!
I have been a customer of Village Antiques for several years and have overlooked their unfriendly attitude to me and continued to return due to the good selection of antiques. As a long time antique lover, I have been to most of the antique stores in the area. Unfortunately this store has almost always been a uniquely bad experience. The owners have always been standoffish and usually find a way to be critical or snobby about whatever it is I am looking for. I always try to engage them in friendly chat, but to no avail.I go to antique stores to relax and enjoy a rare afternoon to myself. At most places I go I encounter big smiles and friendly service. I usually come home with a few treasures! But at Village Antiques I tend to feel unwelcome.Sadly today’s shopping experience took my impression from bad to worse. After I politely chatted with them in one last ditch effort to break the general iciness, I was rudely informed that I would need a face mask in order to shop there again. When I explained that I am medically exempt, I was met with zero compassion and told that they would meet me outside and was no longer welcome inside. Discrimination was really the icing on the cake.It is a strange thing to go to a store that apparently doesn’t want customers. But fortunately there are many other lovely stores in the area willing to do business with me as well as make it a pleasant experience. I regret every dime I have ever spent in this store, and will not be returning. The store owner’s complete lack of remorse at the rude way they conducted themselves should tell you something. They do not care about customer experience or treating others with compassion. Fortunately there are many other lovely places I can go to BROWSE and enjoy the antique shopping experience. I want the same thing most people want; to be treated as a valued customer.
Traveled from Boise specificaly to purchase a lamp to add to my collection . Was prepared to spend more than one thousand dollars. I was only in the shop for no more than a few minutes before an extremely terse woman came up to me to ask what I was looking for, and before I could finish my answer, she angrily told me that my face mask wasnt fitted correctly over my nose. She added that there is sign on the door stating that masks must be worn correctly fitted over your nose in order to patronize this shop. I immediately left the shop as noisily as I could while checking the sign on the door, only to see that it said nothing regarding the correct fitting of masks around the nose. I will not shop here ever again, and will let friends and family members to consider going to the antique mall in Boise instead. I feel sorry for the vendors who have space here. Store management needs some training in how to treat customers.
Great Antique Mall in Nampa Idaho. Its a walk back in time ❣️
Not worth shopping here. The owners are just too rude, prices way too high and why would you want all that wood in your house?
Sweet office desk for Adams Nursery. Thank you.
Such a huge selection of antique furniture, glassware, and so much more. You could spend hours browsing. Ive been here several times and I will be back again.
Beautiful antique store!
Best antiques in Nampa
Enjoy the store clean always has new items if the older items are still there if price seems to be higher now I asked why and they said quite frankly because of the internet sales.
Lots of great things to see, friendly staff, prices were (I thought) reasonable.
Discrimination of people with disabilities. Face masks are not mandatory for all people. There are individuals with medical issues that cannot wear masks. All other shops in the vicinity had no issues with me not wearing one. Plus I entered the store during a slow time. And was refused.
Love to stroll thru yester-years items
They have so much cool stuff. The owners are awesome as well. Definitely check this place out. But caution is advised. You will spend a ton of time here, due to all the cool things. :)
This place is a little pricey (definitely an antique mall, not thrift store) but man it is enormous with a lot of variety. We were impressed with the ground level and then discovered the basement, which had just as much stuff. Its pretty well organized inasmuch as displays are not overly cluttered so if you have time to look all the way through it, youre likely to find some fun things without having to dig or anything, but not sorted by type, for example. So if you want a chair, say, youll need to walk to all the booths to see the selection, there isnt an area specifically for furniture.Would definitely recommend to antiquers, but probably not so much for someone looking for a bargain on previously owned goods.
Its was fun and fantastic. I got Felix the cat game for 10 bucks and its in good shape. best old board game ever
Nice rare items
We were referred to this mall by our friend Kris and were presently surprised. The owners were very knowledgeable, I like to think I know a little bit about antiques, and could answer all my questions. Jim was very kind to advise us on the furniture, while his wife Danita showed me around the vast amount of china and silver. I came back the next day and met another women who was fantastic, her name was Lucreta. Love, love, love her! Ask for her, she is just wonderful. You will know her, she dresses in time period clothes and always looks gorgeous. Ive been there now multiple times and have nothing bad to say. Slow down and get to know the people, youll love it too.
With a multitude of vendors and a very large store space it is easy to spend an afternoon here, treasure hunting for antiques. Most items are fair priced, and inventory updates often.
Fun spot to spend time with a friend!
I recently came here for my growing fascination of coins, and was absolutely delighted by the collection the store has! The gentleman at the counter was very knowledgeable of the items I was looking at, and the prices were certainly fair! Ill definitely be sure to come back for more coins to add to my collection, thank you!
I found some good stuff there.
Fun spot, lots of junk to some quality items too.
Great place. Nice people. Very clean
This place is amazing!
Great place to stroll and browse. Nice stores.
Great selection
I enjoy shopping in small boutiques like these. I will be back.
This is one of my favorite antique stores! You can find many unique items on each shelf! We will be visiting this afternoon (my sister and I). Cant wait!😄Oct 6, losing a few stars because I felt very very uncomfortable by one of the employees I never encountered made me feel very Very uncomfortable. She followed me around everywhere I went. Kinda ruined my day. But over all the store carries amazing and beautiful stuff.
Has so many items to look at and the place is so clean.
Ive been a repeat customer for several months, but today a gentleman working the register tried to insinuate that I stole a coin from a display. It was a very unfortunate exchange and I felt quite insulted. I will not return as a customer, which is unfortunate because the vendors here have great stuff. I have worked retail myself, and I fully understand that clerks must have keen eyes, but this gentleman today conducted himself very unprofessionally.
Literally my favorite place ever! I can spend hours in this store. The owners are so upbeat & helpful and there is SO MUCH to look at... I just love any minute that I get to spend here.
Very nice owners, good stuff and prices can be very good if you shop carefully. Bought a couple of things there and have been very satisfied with the quality.
Great place I will be going back soon
If you like old things at reasonable prices this is a good place to try
I love antique stuff, great customer service.
Good to find your favorite out. They are having many antique tablewares.
Not at all happy! I talked to the owner Jim Payne who said Yes we buy Antiques. I told him what I have. My Great Great Grandmothers Brass Bed of the late 1800s to early 1900s plus a antique bedroom set & many more little Antiques. I sent him pictures only for him to reply Sorry Our Inventory Is Full!! No one has these well taken care of true Antiques that I have had in MY possession for the past 50 years!! Very, Very Dis-appointmented with this company!!!!
Awesome Antique mall. Be sure to pop in for a visit if youre in downtown Nampa!
Large selection of Smalls and bigs. A little overpriced. Nicely done and well organized.
This was my first experience with an Antique Shop. There are many beautiful and unique items for sale here. A few weeks ago I purchased some items for my home and was told by the employee that I could return them if they did not work out. Today I brought them in to return them and was treated rather rudely. I dont mind the fact that they cant be returned-it was a $22 purchase. What I was surprised about was how irritable the female owner was to me. She made it very clear that the employee who told me this was wrong and I felt treated like an idiot for even thinking it was a possibility.I will probably never return to shop at this location.(I am also taken back by her responses to some of the other reviews)
Its an adorable shop with lots of lovely things. The people there are very nice and helpful.
So fun to look for special things
The nicest antique shop Ive ever seen! A must see!!
This lady yelled at my two daughters and one of them care back in and told her that she was being rude to her older sister and she said to leave then chased her out then decided to call her a little brat and cane outside and banned her just because I was upstairs and they were down stairs looking around. Pathetic change your attitude Miss
Amazing antiques! Love the vendors
My sister and I (with my service dog) stopped in to look around for some things as she was furnishing her place and we were greeted with a not-so-nice woman and told that we would have to leave because they did not allow dogs in their business. My service dog had her vest on and was acting very appropriately. This lady started demanding documentation and we explained that federal law does NOT require documentation for a service dog and she began to argue with us that it was the law to have ID and documents for the service dog and I explained to her that it was not and if she would like to call and speak to the police about it that would be fine. She then stated she has the right to refuse service to anyone and I told her yes she does, but at this point she would be refusing service due to a disability and that would get her into trouble. She was very angry. She did not want to listen when we tried to explain the law to her about the two questions she can ask, but all she was concerned about was making us leave because they had a bad experience before with dog fighting in their shop. She then turned around and walked off. We continued on our way browsing through the merchandise. Until training is done for the employees of this business for disabled rights with service dogs and her attitude change, I would NOT recommend anyone to this shop.
I was so excited to go again to my favorite antique place but the husband and wife who checked us out were so consumed with Covid and masks that it made me uncomfortable if they are that afraid maybe they shouldnt be open kind of sad and they were very cold and rude terrible customer service again so sad 😥 the only one who is nice and kind and tends to each customer is the beautiful lady dressed in vintage with the vintage hat.
Very friendly staff, fun place to look for treasures
Nice store. Do not bring your children however since they will be followed by the owner. Evidently all children are bad and break things.
If you must have an explanation as to why you received 1 star its because of poor customer service in the past! not sure why you need to go through my reviews however to find out where i went to school and then assume i like making negative posts.. is it my fault half the places i go to have terrible customer service and bad food service? It seems you needed to dig into my business to find something to go after me with, maybe you could improve yours by asking why i posted 1 star instead of coming on and going through my reviews and putting together your own story or theory- i did in fact give you reason on your FB page years ago and you never responded...so i found this and left 1 star with no comment figuring i would not waste time posting a reason again and then you come on here and fired away!, so anything i have put here is only after your comment-as for insults you do the same thing on your FB page anyway...you dont like low star reviews so you attack the people making them- i might of bumped you up to two stars if you could of had a better response that was professional- this coming from another business owner who knows the phrase the customer is always right and so is their right to fair opinion and review-p.s. glad you took my advice and commented to those with high ratings-
Best antique shop in town!
So much stuff to look at! They have some unique finds for reasonable prices.
There was a lot to see! Multiple shops.
Lovely, well curated antique store with the nicest owners!
Great variety of Antiques and Collectibles. Kind of expensive, but worth the time to search for that perfect item.
Great place, lots to see . Just alittle overpriced & half the stores inside were closed on a Monday. .
Takes you back to old times.
Really cute store but owners are up your butt when you are trying to shop is was really annoying they treated us like we were trying to steal stuff even though they have cameras through out the store
Lots of variety. Clean. Priced a little high.
Awesome!
Fantastic display
Very friendly staff
The best selection
Fun place
Cant stay out...😍
