My new mattress from WLH is one of the smartest purchases I made. I love the feel of my Boulder mattress. Super high quality materials and workmanship. As I lie down on it, I love the initial soft feeling of the mattress surface from the wool padding followed by the super firm support from the tightly packed cotton underneath. I went back and purchased a second mattress now that I know first hand how exceptional it is. There is nothing comparable on the market. These are truly unique.

Organic cotton mattress is the most comfortable mattress in our 4 bedroom home. I love to sleep in my sons bed due to the White Lotus Homes organic cotton, full-size mattress. For comparison, we bought a wool mattress for our king-size bed, an organic latex for our queen-size, and we have a coil mattress with organic latex/cotton/wool layered twin size mattress. There is no contest, my body prefers the White Lotus Home cotton mattress. My arms and legs and back dont cramp or fall asleep on the cotton mattress because the fibers are perfect, unlike the wool and latex. My hope is to one day replace my wool, king sized mattress with an organic cotton mattress with a boulder from White Lotus Home one day.

I ordered a buckwheat sleep pillow for my back and shoulder pain, but it didnt hold its position throughout the night. Then I got a kapok contour pillow... let me tell YOU! Best pillow ever. Recently bought the buckwool pillows. They are so different from any other pillow I’ve ever slept on! They have the firmness of the buckwheat hulls, but the wool keeps it from making rustling noises and makes the surface still feel really soft. Absolutely love them!

I have used White Lotus Dreamton futons for over 20 years and they are heavenly to sleep on! After 10-15 years when they have compressed a bit, add a wool topper and they are as good as new again. Their kapok pillows are also awesome, they stay fluffy for years :) Now that my kids are young adults, they are purchasing their own White Lotus bedding!

Wonderful products. I recommend their mattresses for chronic pain sufferers. I almost skipped an important doctors appointment (Ankylosing spondylitis diagnosis), because my back pain had improved so drastically with the green cotton and wool latex mattress. I feel like a new person. My chronic illness is still present of course, but I dont wake up feeling it every morning anymore. If you suffer from any kind of chronic pain and especially arthritis of any kind, buy their mattress.

Love this mattress!!. 10 years ago, I bought a twin sized mattress for my little girl as she was transitioning from a toddler bed to a big girl bed. She still sleeps on this mattress and it has the same feel as the day we bought it. The best, most comfortable bed pillow I have ever owned. The construction of the pillow is impeccable utilizing high quality material that is non-toxic and healthy which gives me peace of mind. Keep in mind, your head is on the pillow for over 6 hours, why not get a pillow that is a healthy alternative. I found White Lotus Home randomly online a while back when looking for flame retardant free mattresses and convinced my husband to give their products a try. I cant say enough good about this company and their products. Over the past few years weve replaced all our pillows and mattresses with 100% cotton from white Lotus home. We bought our futon from here. They make it to order, and its all constructed in America. They stuffed the mattress with organic stuffing and provided a very solidly built frame. They also have a wide variety of mattress and pillow coverings. It costs a little extra, but good furniture is always worth it. since it lasts.

I ordered two Kapok pillows, medium stuffed. They were really full so I bought another small organic case for my little guy and ended up with three pillows for the price of two! They are light, soft and just as comfy as down...we all love them! I also ordered a wool pillow but even after airing it out for several days the smell was just too strong and I was unable to return it. Kapok is definitely the way to go! Thanks White Lotus.

Much of my home is outfitted with White Lotus home products, from my mattress, to my pillows, to my sheets, and my fold-up futon and frame. Everything I have ever bought from White Lotus is beautiful and very well made. In my opinion they offer the best sustainable bedding and home furnishings out there; where else can you get something 100% organic, and made here in the US? So many things on the market that are sustainable in fact often contain flame retardants and other chemicals, or are made abroad in low-wage conditions. White Lotus offers a vision and a set of products counter to this.I have been extremely pleased with White Lotus in the past, and intend to purchase more things from them in the future. I highly recommend them!

The kapok we ordered from WLH was great quality! Delivery was faaaaast! Packaging was ideal & in just 2 large boxes (another place sent their expensive kapok in 5 boxes). Prices are great! If youre really lucky youll catch a sale (they have ACTUAL sales not like some places with tiny percents off). Well be ordering more from them in the future.

We have two all green cotton twin mattresses for our children. I end up sleeping with our toddler at some point most night because she is still nursing. The mattresses are so comfortable and I feel good knowing my children arent breathing in any harmful chemicals. They have a wonderful natural cotton aroma - my sons still does after nearly five years! His mattress is still in excellent shape with rotating it every couple months. I will go back to White Lotus again and again! We are saving up for a King mattress of our own.

I purchased 10 lbs. of organic buckwheat hulls in order to complete my meditation pillow project. Not only did White Lotus Home offer the best price Ive found online, but the deal was sweetened with a promo code saving me additional $! They arrived in a reasonable amount of time and the quality of the hulls is excellent. If you need buckwheat hulls this is the place to go. I definitely will order my bulk organic fill from them in the future.

I bought a White Lotus toddler mattress for my baby when she would not sleep in her crib. I initially used the mattress in her crib and she was SO much more comfortable. And it fit in the crib perfectly - snug but not too tight. Later on I moved it to the floor so she could get up by herself, and so that I could lay down with her. I lie down on it every night with her while she goes to sleep, and it is extremely comfortable to me. I would love to get more for the rest of the family, the only thing that keeps me from doing so is the cost, and not being able to see/try before I buy. I think chemicals are a huge problem in our society and love that we have options like this. I also prefer to support companies that manufacture their products in the USA, and supporting small business.

Great company with very quick response to inquiries! I cannot stress enough how important it is to sleep without chemicals. I love my bed so much! I bought an organic bed because I was suffering from sleep apnea. I would stop breathing in the middle of the night and wake up violently! Going organic (mix of latex, wool, and organic cotton) has stopped my sleep issues completely. It even brings me deeper sleep and more complex dreams.In Burlington, VT we are lucky enough to have a retailer in town so I can try all the White Lotus Home Products. My favorites are the kapok pillows and the wool wrapped latex mattress. Kapok is so soft and silky! Its a very special tree that produces an amazing fiber. I am waiting for some new guest cots to arrive that will be going into a DIY pull out couch. So excited!

I purchased a mattress from them 1 year ago. I was very excited to get the mattress and have a clean non toxic bed. Alas, the mattress quickly became as lumpy as the rocky mountains and my wife and I have endured terrible sleep for the past year. I called the company and they suggested that i purchase a topper from them, which costs more then most mattresses. I cannot stress how much suffering this mattress has cause my wife and me. I urge anyone thinking about buying from here to either spend 2 grand on the top model or dont buy from them.

We bought a conventional bed from Sleepys and the smell was so awful that I had the delivery people come back and get it. I have a sensitivity to chemicals and it caused an intense headache and made my eyes water. I slept on the couch for the next couple of nights while I figured out what to do next. I found White Lotus Home on the internet and the very next day drove down to their store in New Jersey. I was greeted by a very helpful and friendly salesperson who walked me through the whole experience. David and I love our organic mattress and our bed frame! We even bought a mattress topper, two pillows, and a duvet from White Lotus Home. Our bed is exceptionally comfortable, easy to care for and has improved our quality of sleep immensely.Our Queen size bed has handles on both sides for easy maneuvering. It is very important to both my husband and I that the bed frame was made locally. One of the legs of our bed did develop a small fracture and White Lotus Home sent us all new replacement legs! The first time I had my son try a Wool pillow he finally woke up with no more puffy eyes! I had no idea Wool was a natural dust mite repellant. He started at 5 years old and now hes turning 15 and still sleeps like a baby! So glad we tried these products and continue to use them everyday!

BEWARE OF MOLD!Natural mattresses have a nice allure, until all that natural mold starts forming under this inferior product.Complained, and they offered a discount on a new mattress... AFTER 7 MONTHS!So I did what any respectable fix it all would do and cut the mold from the mattress and sewed back a patch... Well guess what...? A BRAND NEW mold circle has appeared.Dont do it to yourself. Thousands of dollars down the drain.Also, the other reviews about it becoming rocky and lumpy and any other adjective for things you dont want to experience while trying to fall asleep are TRUE!

(see below for update)I really wanted to love my White Lotus mattress, but after three years, its just not cutting it, and Im at my wits end.In fairness, it was very comfortable and supportive for the first 6-9 months I slept on it. However, it soon began to develop a dip in the middle from my most common sleeping position and became increasingly uncomfortable to sleep on.Despite the fact I maintained perfect care of this mattress as directed - sitting on top of a wooden slatted platform, flipping and rotating regularly, and avoiding any moisture or damage, the problem persists. I even tried intentionally trying to sleep closer to the edge of the bed, and shifting it slightly on the platform; Ive also been sleeping with a partner for the last 6 months or so, and the dip is only bigger and deeper. He wakes up with back pain and I wake up with incredibly tight hips.White Lotus IS an affordable clean bedding option, and this mattress (the Dreamton) did provide me with great sleep for a little while. I think we will repurpose it into a futon for sitting only, for which it will be comfortable in short bursts, but this mattress is simply not built for long-term overnight comfort.Im starting to wonder if Ive done any long-term damage to my body by sleeping on a slight angle and using my joints and muscles to compensate, or to my mind by compromising a good nights rest so many times. Im finally throwing in the towel; I hope I can spare someone else the same misery.**Update 8/3/2016**Per the recommendation of the owner below, I reached out to White Lotus customer service. I had initially tried to reach them through an outdated contact form, which is why I resorted to posting this review, but I was able to get in touch with their team immediately through the email addresses below. They had me send pictures of the mattress to evaluate whether the dips were due to a manufacturing defect, or simply normal wear and tear of the mattress. They decided it was not a defect, and encouraged me to beat the mattress, stand on its side, and perform other vigorous maintenance activities to awaken the fibers and correct the dip. Despite the excellent workout I got from these activities, the dips remained.After going back and forth exploring several options, we came to a resolution that I am happy with. In full honesty, I have ordered a new mattress from another supplier, but hope to repurpose this one as I mentioned above.White Lotus is a fair and honest company, and they demonstrated care and concern in my resolution process. While I would not recommend their futon-style mattresses for nightly sleeping, they are perfectly comfortable for sitting on. I cant speak to the quality of their other products, but I imagine they are reputable if the company stands behind what they make so consistently.TL;DR: Dont buy a futon mattress for sleeping here (and maybe not anywhere). Great customer service.

I am highly disappointed in the return policy and in customer service. Most other stores I’ve ever shopped at allow a customer to use a product for a certain amount of time to deterime if the item works for them and then allow free returns on items the customer isnt satisified with. White lotus does NOT. Their return policy is that they will only accept unsued pillows when returned AND the customer has to pay return shipping PLUS a 30% restocking fee. I ordered three different style pillows to see which we liked and now we are stuck with the two types that we tried out. Luckily we did not try one pillow. I had emailed customer service about returns previously and the response I received simply said that I had 30 days to return. It said nothing about the restocking fee. Now that I am ready to return I was informed of the entire policy. Sure, I should have read the policy online but instead I just went by the initial email. I would not purchase from this company again simply for the above reasons. My money will be spent at another place next time. Very disappointing!

READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BUYING!! I fear most of the reviews that are 4 and 5 stars are soon after purchasing the mattress, when the allure of having a non-toxic bed is still hot. People dont review after theyve had it for a year or two, BUT I AM!Ive owned the Dreamton Queen size mattress for 3 years now. I initially bought it because I wanted toxin-free bedding. And thats what I got, however what they fail to mention (on their website and over the phone) is that a wool mattress (or wool/cotton blend in my case) is only good as a stand-alone for people with a low BMI (like 19 and under) because its so rock hard! I have a healthy BMI of 21, but its still too hard for me. Way too many pressure points! After suffering for a year with shoulder, low back and hip pain due to its density, I called them and they recommended buying a latex topper. They were kind enough to offer it to me for 50% off, so I purchased it. The topper is only like 2 inches thick and its STILL not enough to relieve the pressure points. I had to purchase an additional 4 goose down topper and its STILL causing me problems. Think twice before purchasing this and know that you will HAVE to invest in additional toppers to make it usable. My set up, including a hand made wood frame, costs $2,700! And Im pissed cause it still isnt comfortable. The only reason why I gave it a second star is because I DO support having non-toxic bedding and I like knowing that Im not breathing in chemicals for 9 hours a night. However, I wake up feeling like crap every morning.

And so, I write this review in hopes of saving other people the hassles I have had.First, I own the Boulder mattress, King size, which I purchased in 2009 directly from the store in NJ. I sat on the beds, spoke extensively with the sales associates and went over all the details at the time of purchase (or so I thought!)Pros:- Its definitely comfortable, especially if you like a firm mattress, or are used an Asian setup.- I like the materials - I feel good that its natural materials, fire resistant and not full of chemicals.Cons:- You have to be very careful about what kind of bed frame you use. If the slats are too far apart on the base, your mattress will sink into them, creating a lumpy bed. Our slats are about 7 apart and the bed sinks right into them. To their credit, White Lotus did send someone out to fix it, which was drilling plywood to the bottom of the bed to flatten it out. My gripe: they should have told me this in the store before I purchased my (rather expensive!) bed frame. In addition, I now have to flip my mattress to get proper air circulation. Try flipping a king sized futon!- THE MATTRESS IS NOT A STANDARD SIZE. For 3 years, I thought that my handmade bed was sized incorrectly (since it was made abroad). Then one day I measured and realized the mattress is 80x80inch square. King size beds are 80x76 standard. I know that 4 seems negligible, but to this day I have trouble squishing it into a fitted sheet. I also have a lip on the base of my bed, which forces me to squish the mattress into the frame. The result is that the mattress slopes upward on the sides and we roll in towards the middle when we sleep. So annoying! Again, I might have chosen a better frame if I had been told this at the time of purchase.- I turn and flip my mattress regularly, as directed. This does keep it even, but after 3 years of flipping a huge mattress, many of the heavy string used to created the internal tufting have snapped. Also, there are only handles ON ONE SIDE. This makes it ridiculously hard to turn.FYI: WhiteLotus was nice enough to respond to my question about the size:Yes, our king size mattresses are 80x80. I understand king size is often labeled as 76x80, but sometimes youll see 78x80 or in the case of WLH, 80x80. In fact, a few of the bed manufacturers we work with make their frames at 78x80 and the two inch difference in size doesnt cause any issues because our mattresses are pliable. Another reason we make a square (80x80)But Im telling you people, beware of the king sized mattress. It is a pain despite how overall comfortable it is. Unfortunately, Im looking around for another mattress.

I had signed up for White Lotus Home emails, and received a newsletter that advertised the following;White Lotus DUMBO continues to blossom... Come visit, mention this newsletter and get an extra $20 off any purchase of $300 or more by April 30th. Thanks! Seems pretty straightforward.So, I specifically went out of my way to visit the Dumbo store rather than ordering online and purchased my mattress. When I mentioned the newsletter I was told that that special only applies to FUTURE purchases.Does that make any sense? The promotion includes any purchase and by April 30th. And it was emailed to me on April 29th. So youre telling me I would have to make two separate purchased during business hours ON APRIL 30TH to get this deal?So I suppose it was false advertising to get people in to the Dumbo store. Its illegal. And Im aware that its only $20, but its the principle that counts. I wasted my time going to the Dumbo store. Not to mention I was very surprised that the customer is always right didnt apply when the amount in question was $20. Even if you dont want to take the time to read your own newsletter, just give it to them. Its worth it for a happy customer.You owe me $20, WLH.

Terrible experience with the owner. Completely misled me and lied to me. The mattress feels like youre sleeping on a rock. Miserable experience top to bottom.

LOVE our White Lotus pillows! Comfortable, no smell, and from an aesthetic perspective perfect fit and no sad droopiness for making the bed. They stay upright and look sharp. Rare to find something that meets a non toxic standard and the look you want. We’re hoping to get a mattress from them one day too!
