The customer service was exceptional! Top notch professional, polite and genuinely nice
So many things to see in there! Fun to browse, very reasonable prices.
Every time we go to Group W Bench it is a great vibe experience. Too many trinkets for one visit to comprehend. Owner is awesome. Staff is always on point and super cool. Many thanks from New Hampshire.
A must go, anytime u in new haven. owner is cool af.
This is the coolest place in CT
Severely overpriced. Like $75 for a record, $38 for a tiny statue overpriced. Unique store yet never decent customer service. Prepare to be eyeballed the whole time.
Been shopping here since I was a kid, it’s a treasure trove of weird goodness
Have been going here for 20 years and its still a lot of fun. Kids (older kids) love it. Friendly staff, unconventional, kooky stuff - plastic zombie figures, wind-up robots, scarves, hemp pocketbooks, silver rings, postcards, unusual small toys for kids, big selection of retro & humorous pins, just a huge array - so many things hanging from the ceiling, pinned under shelves, on racks, on the floor, in the window - that you just cant take it all in. Small head shop section in the back. Funky, fun and a real trip.
Not surprise with the reaction of the previous comment. I had never been treated this bad as a customer. The staff just dont only know what a client means but also what means to be polite. I will never come back and dont recommend that place...
The manager is very helpful and does well watching people, even when there’s an abundance. The new girl with the blonde hair is super sweet and friendly. I’ve been going here for years and I find something new. Love it!!!
Best place for Indian curtains and clothes. Love the guy there. He is so chill and nice.
Love this place been going there for years, every time I pop in there is always something new in the store, and the staff is very cool.
Great, unique place. Amazing staff, perfect gifts!
Awesome funky shop! I come here every year on my birthday to get my self a special piece of jewelry. Owner is wonderful
Group W Bench is the best place around for tie dyed t-shirts, Indian skirts, and head shop items from the 60s. Boomers who stop here will find themselves on a strange trip down memory lane.
Amazing one of the best stores Ive ever been in when I walked in there I could not stop saying o man this is so cool wow I would visit it everyday if I could. I would give this place 10 stars
Super cool stuff and sweet staff! Had such an amazing experience. You could never get bored in this place!
When I informed the people behind the counter their hours were wrong on this site they said they were not in control of the internet. They were also not very customer service orientated. Raffeal, please train these people to be as nice as you.
The headier than thou clerks were rude to me, acted like the place was their house that i was profaning. like dude? you guys man a cash register. no need to make assumptions that the young twenty something kids arent hip. dont talk down to me, clerks!
Love this place and miss it to death, rather cramped but really cool selection of products. Extremely friendly staff, this is the place I missed most when I had to move away!
What a neat little oddity shop! Great service, lots of cool things (especially if you like knick-knacks and witchy stuff), nice location. Wish the prices of some things were a little clearer, but Im definitely going back there again!
The greatest head shop in CT..... Period... Awesome staff, unique stuff, handmade jewelry, cool clothes... Anything you could want, they prolly got
Not a place where you will save money. Lots of bohemian clothing, t-shirts, silver jewerly and Bijou, incense, ornaments lamps etc.
Nice people, very helpful. The best store for old hippies like me!
This is by far my favorite place in new haven. the staff is cool as hell and although some items are expensive it’s all good quality, totally worth it
I went into the store hoping to sell handmade products of mine. This being what I thought a laid back, open-minded, welcoming atmosphere was not the experience I got. I showed a woman at the counter my work, and she gave me a quick no, and no explanation. Then out of the thickness of hippy clothes, nag champa incence and patchouli appeared a portly bald bearded elf in a Grateful Dead t-shirt with an angry attitude (owner?)who said GET OUT! SHE SAID NOOO!!! DONT YOU UNDERSTAND NO???? I was smacked blindsided by this so-called easygoing hippyness. Hippies, especially crusty old ones who still think its the 60s can be mean, VERY MEAN. My wife used to shop there, but stopped going because of the way I was treated. Dont trust a hippy, and hippy wearing ponytails can contradict your notions of human decency. Remember, GWB are there to make that Capitalist buck.
Moved to Portland, Oregon. Nothing like it there ;(
Not a big fan of how customers are treated.
Awesome little slice of small business heaven
One of favorite stores in the world. No place quite like it anywhere else. A must see when in New Haven
Cant go to new haven without stopping here
