Oakley restoration did an outstanding job refinishing a number of our antiques. Their workmanship is of the highest quality and they are very a pleasure to work with. I recommend them unconditionally.

Followed our requests exactly. Returned the piece to the exact look of its period. Executed a complex repair of spindles with complex changing shapes from cylindrical to ellipsoid and back to cylindrical all the while following the compound contours to shape the back support of a 100 year old rocking chair. You cannot tell the difference between the old spindles and the new replacements right down to the oak grain and weathered stain. The strength of the chair has been restored to its original design, if not better. We request the finish look like it had not been updated but represented the period of its manufacture.

If you love good furniture and want it to look great but not like its been redone, this is the place. The skills of George and Scott are unsurpassed,; they love their work and are a pleasure to work with as well. We have had a number of pieces redone and repaired and when done you cant tell that they arent in untouched original condition. This is my standard of fine work. They also go the extra mile to make sure the work is appropriate, for example finding a lock for our tall clock (it had been gone for about 100 years), fitting it and even fixing the key as well. All without having to ask. Cant recommend their work enough and have absolutely no hesitation in giving them fine antiques that need skilled attention.

If you want it done right, this is the place to go. Bill Oakley and his crew are true craftsmen. I had two Victorian arm chairs that have been in my family for three generations. They each needed significant repairs. Not only were the joints all loose, but some pieces had broken away, like the base of one leg where the brass wheel should have been attached. Surgery was performed wherein new pieces were crafted, attached, and stained to match the beautifully aged walnut. When the chairs came back, the repairs were virtually invisible. Now the chairs are beautiful and sturdy, ready for the next three generations. I was so pleased with the work that I plan to send several other projects Bills way over the next few months.

I contacted Bill Oakley or a custom job that required transforming an antique queen sized Eastlake style bed into a king size bed. Bill and his team took great care to match the finish, the wood, and the style so the work they did blended seamlessly with the existing piece. This required widening the headboard and footboard, and lengthening the rails. I was very pleased with the final result. Also, Bill provided excellent customer service throughout the project. He was responsive to my communications and took the time to explain the project to me (he even drew up plans!) so I was comfortable before he began work on a piece that was very valuable to me. Oakley Restoration & Finishing also finished on time and on budget. I think Billy Oakley is not only a skilled craftsman, but also runs a good business. Oakley has repaired and restored a maple hutch for us--to include taking five inches off the hutch to resize it. Terrific results--excellent craftsmanship! They also took a large table that needed to fit up tight stairs and into a large upper room--they rebuilt the table so it was easily moveable and can be changed out as necessary-- very inventive! We have found them professional, service oriented and very nice folks with whom to work.
