The owner Craig is a true foodie and coffee fanatic. Bagels are the best in the area. I also love the lattes - real coffee, not the bitter garbage from the chains. They also do more than bagels like killer burgers.

This was amazing. I know Im getting really excited over bagels but you dont understand. Washington state knows almost nothing about food... especially bagels. I love bagel sandwiches and miss having them in the mornings. Loved their bagels too. Nothing like the super hard things you find in most places on the west coast.Edit: I did have a latte with my sandwich. I enjoyed the latte as well. So much so Ive been annoying the heck out of all the people Im working with today. Thanks, Bagel Cafe!

I have only been here once, as Im from out of town, but was visiting friends in the area who insisted I must try a pork roll, as it was something I have never experienced. Well, Im not really sure how I feel about pork rolls... It seems a bit of an acquired taste. However, if you DO like pork rolls, I think youd enjoy them here. They seem really good for what they are, and my friends swear by them. I really *almost* liked it, and what I couldnt finish, my picky TM wolfed down. I will say that there arent too many coffee options here, which is the only reason I gave four stars.

I grew up in new prov and normally go to Noah’s bagel shop but my parents mentioned that they liked Bagel Cafe so my husband and I decided to give it a try when were in town visiting. All I can say is that from the bagels to the coffee, this place did not disappoint. The bagels were so fresh, the lattes were awesome and the people that work there are so friendly. Highly recommend!!

Incredible bagels, great hot chocolate, but terrible customer service. Only one staff member was gentle. The others seemed as though they were annoyed to take care of customers. One of them specially was mean and staring at me as if I were a criminal just because they got my order wrong. Guys, we are trying to support local businesses so they can recover from this horrible pandemic. Be kinder and more empathic with your patrons. At the end of the day, we are the ones who let a business either grow or sink.

Should change the opening the hours on the door from 5am to 6am. Last few visits at 5:55 am not a bagel in sight or was the grill turned on. Was told it would be at least 20 minutes. I left and went to Sam I Am bagels in Berkeley Heights. They are just as good, open and ready for business at 6 am..

Seems some of the workers and customers have left and gone to Craft Bagel in Berkeley Heights. Craft Bagel is always open on time, stocked and ready for business. A much better bagel and overall experience.

Long lines on a Sunday morning, but the bagels tasted great!

This is a great little place, well trained and pleasant staff, and absolutely crazy on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They give a good value for the price, with good quantities (and quality). If you walk in on weekend mornings expect a line and moderate wait, and unfortunately it is a small storefront. They have an online and text ordering system which I havent tried but will next time, while one is waiting in line to order you see the online customers waltz in, go to a large shelf against one wall, pick out the bag(s) with their name on it, and waltz out.

Bagels are fantastic. But I recently tried the Burger and it didn’t disappoint! Tender, juicy and flavorful. A must try.

Great bagle joint. Sometimes a bit confusing picking up a phoned in order but not worth complaining about. The menu is big, everything from bagels to smoothies, and so far everything is delicious.

Bagels are very good and worth the trip but only go if you order on line. I usually go on Sunday’s ( sometimes during the week) and a staff pays no attention to walk in customers. The last 5Xs I went I was one of a handful of people and the wait was ridiculously long. People were not happy on line especially those who only wanted a few bagels. Last 2X I left as did other people. I love the flagels but owner will only make them in the morning ... refuses to make more so if you get there after 8:00am or so your out of luck. I’ve asked several times why they don’t make more batches and was told “we have other bagels to sell”. If a type of bagel sells out quickly thatmeans there is a demand ... make more and make customers happy. Bagels themselves deserve 5 stars but customers service and never having flagels after early morning .. 3 stars total.

Not a large selection, but fresh great tasting bagels. We had a plain and everything bagel with lox spread which were very good. Then went back and got a egg, ham and cheese bagel sandwich with taylor ham (not something i can get in the midwest).The blueberry and cinnamon toast bagels are also very good.

Garden State breakfast wrap was so good!

This is probably the best bagel shop within 3-4 miles which is saying something in suburban New Jersey. Had an egg bagel toasted with cream cheese and a coffee, both were absolutely amazing! This is my go to place when Im in new providence.

Very nice establishment! It’s a bit pricey but worth it. Very friendly employees, fast service and quality food. This bagel shop is directly across the street from Noah Bagels which is very disgusting compared to here. Next time your in New Providence make sure to eat at Bagel Cafe and NOT at NOAH BAGELS!

Good place to get breakfast

Updating my previous rating.The food has always been great. The bfast sandwiches are excellent. The point of sale issues they had have clearly been resolved. The owner is responsive to feedback and for as generic a bagel can be, they really have taken it to another level.

Food is great, service not so much. Placed an order and they called a couple times afterward. I wasn’t able to pick up right away so I called back twice but never got an answer. When I got there to pick up my order they told me they tried calling to tell me they had no chicken. I told them I tried calling back twice but nobody ever picked up. While I waited for them to make a new order I heard the phone ring multiple times and not once did any of the 6 people behind the counter pick it up. Communication is clearly not a strong point here.

A great place to stop for breakfast, especially on a crazy morning on be way to drop the kids off to school. Delicious food and friendly staff that know how to serve a crowd of people. When I come in with the kids, they always give them free mini bagels so the kids love it (and don’t worry, they love to get their breakfast sandwiches too!)

This place makes the best bagels. Theyre always fresh and big and thick and soft, and at a buck each, the best deal around. They sell a whole lotta other stuff to go on or around the bagels, but the bagels alone are worth it.

Amazing coffee and bagels. I get the everything with bacon, egg and cheese and it is out of this world. Latte with almond milk is spot on. Cant recommend this enough. Only feedback is that they need an easier way of dealing with online orders, maybe a dedicated spot where you go and ask for yours and they can check the status/hand it over. As it stands now, you need to fight your way through the mass of people and find someone thats not busy to talk to

Ive driven up to 45 minutes away to try to find the very best bagel in the area and have concluded that this is it. Super fluffy and cooked perfectly.

Its a good bagel, maybe not my new favorite but high quality nonetheless. Busy place with lots of staff behind the counter. A little congested for the patrons. Their layout behind the counter isnt efficient and adds to the congestion on both sides of the counter. House coffee was good. I will visit again when im in the neighborhood and try a sandwich from the deli side.

Probably one of the best burgers Ive had around. I know this doesn’t exactly scream burger place but the quality and service provided pushed this to a 5 star. Definitely coming back for another!

Bagel Cafe has great bagels & more. My kids love the French Toast bagels & the Super Cinnamon bagels. I love their Sea Two, which is lox + cream cheese + tomato + onion on a bagel. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because it is expensive.

Such a great quality place. Compared to Noahs Bagels across the street its not even close. Unlike Noahs who microwave their eggs, NP has a griddle and cooks everything fresh and in front of you. Very down to earth people!

I just had an smoothie, but the food options are very good. The bagels looks delicious. The place is ok with enough tables. There is parking available in the back. Is not expensive.

Got here at 2:52 when they close at 3. The girl at the counter said yes they close at 3, yet they had no food left and said they can’t serve me. She said “well, we have to clean up.” Last I heard, you clean up AFTER you close, and if you want to start cleaning up at 2:45, then you close at 2:45. Don’t waste your customers’ time.

Good people, good bagels. Little pricey on the sandwiches, but reasonable. Service and quality always good though. Most popular breakfast spot in town it seems like on the weekends though, so expect a short but crowded wait if you come during peak time.

Bagels were so fresh and delicious. Fresh mixed cream cheese were excellent. Sadly, the wait time and organization of waiting on the customers needs work.

Best bagel shop around this area hands down. Great sandwiches, they have lots of options to choose from. Egg whites, turkey bacon, and all cooked fresh on the grill never microwaved.

Gee, it would be nice if one of the 5 people on the other side of the counter would actually greet me, say can I help you?, or ill be right with you, Or acknowledge my existence in someway or another instead of doing a diligent job of ignoring me. Great food, honestly surprise by their burgers which are only sold on Tuesday and Wednesday as of now. Their bagels are fresh and the staff works hard to keep everything in order.

So much better than the other bagel stores in the area. Tasty bagel and really good lox spread. Pleasant service compared to the famously bad chain across the street.

This is my go to spot with the family any given weekend. My kids actually prefer Bagel Cafe over getting donuts! Im originally from NY, so hopefully that gives me some bagel cred :) and IMHO they make really great bagels!

Your establishment has the most rude young guys in there that opens up early a.m...I walk in as a customer to purchase some bagel,, and a gentlemen walks in behind me. and he helps him instead of me...then I informed him would he like someone to do that to him, no response but do you want something or not....I will let people know not to go there for any business....not a good feeling....this is bad business.SO RUDE...Its sad that you let people like this work for you.

I was having breakfast this morning and that unpleasant situation, I asked for a coffe brew and I did not like it then I asked for a smoothie and the boy who attended to me did it and I went to sit down to eat, Antonio arrived saying he was the manager and told me what was It was the problem with my order, I told him that I did not like it because I felt very strong in flavor and that he had asked for a smoothie and he tells me next time to read before ordering because we are not to lose and then I told him I can pay I do not know worry Im still inside the store and it tells me anywhere you go first read before ordering and I say sorry you dont have to talk to me so Im a customer and the customer must be first and tell me for us the customer is not the most important thing, here we are not to lose money and I repeated again I can pay, and he says ok ok go pay, antonio said talk to the cashier and I asked you are the daughter of the owner and he tells me I am not only employed then gave go oh ok I want to talk to the owner thanks and I paid him the $ 7 that the smoothie cost, that is $ 7 worth a client, not only did they lose a client they lost 6 that we are the ones we always go, they should teach him how to treat a I am a client of the manager Antonio. I am Latin and bilingual and in Spanish I told him that it was outrageous that being of the same ethnic group you treated me like that and laughed in my face, that unpleasant situation I am 60 years old and not for my gray hair I received the respect I deserved.

I love the owner been going there for about 5 years today was my first time since 2014 or 2015 and he was so good to my son gave him a mini bagel and made his day!

Good bagels although pumpernickel only available sometimes. Needs separate service lines for bagels only and sandwiches only. Deli service seems to get priority -- this is a BAGEL SHOP!

Since coming across this bagel shop, we dont go anywhere else. Also, being able to order and pay online is great for Sunday morning bagel runs.
