I rushed over there to get mixed paint. I was told they close the mixing machine off 15 minutes before closing time. The machine should be working till closing time. I rushed over there for nothing very frustrating. I will bring my business elsewhere.

Well this place used to b up the street. So as always know your worth. Service n men r always polite n respectful, about 1st come n speak up service is given.Never had a problem. Of course prices r different but if u know your worth go 4 it or go to another store. A couple of times as a matter of fact they sent me another store. Honestly goes a long way.

Need to pass along a find here. Ive shopped here before when it was Modern too. They carry Benjamin Moore paints. But they can mix paint colors from other stores and companies. The machines have access to paint formulas in multiple companies. I had to get another gallon of a 6-year-old color from a designer -line that was discontinued in Valspar at Lowes. Lowes in Yonkers wait was insane-one employee for all paints. I thought about going to Nanuet. The Valspar site said this store carried them. But the employee said they dont carry Valspar. the guy at the paint counter knew it well enough to explain. The machine was able to find that sixx-year old discontinued color on the computer. So he could mix it, but he could not provide Valspar base--which is what makes is a Valspar Paint. He could provide that color in a Benjamin Moore base. BM is a good paint, I use either the middle grade or one step up. So I got a gallon from them and the Benjamin Moore paint matched the 6-year-old Valspar color perfectly. Home Depot made a mess of paints several years ago, where they were unable to produce 2 qts of the same color. Even color matching failed. It was infuriating. I think they werent cleaning the machines properly. I will never risk H.D. again. Look at colors wherever, but see if they can find it in their computer and get paint from a reliable source.The store is small but they have lots of stuff in a small space. Modern wasnt a corporate store where every customer must be greeted by low paid and uneducated salesclerks. That is customer service theater in every major chain. It gives people the illusion of having people capable of servicing you without actually doing anything. Ive walked through Modern in the past and not been asked if I needed help. Which very often is what i prefer. If you need help ask. They will ACTUALLY help you as they know their products.EVERY deep-discount Walmart MUST have a greeter. Doesnt mean youre going to find knowledgeable and trained staff.
