I am shocked at the recent reviews of one star and accusations against this store and staffmember. Herding family members together to strike at the employee and damage her livelihood and the store’s reputation is unconscionable. Not only because I can absolutely attest that these accusations are untrue and malicious. Especially now and In this current world crisis, Workers are struggling to keep their jobs and feed their families. Small businesses are struggling to stay open and keep themselves and those employees afloat. Careless, malicious reviews by these folks harm these businesses and employees. I am overweight. I struggle with it. But I dont seek to blame others for the guilt I feel about that. I see clothes I wish I could wear or try on, but know my limit. So I look and admire as I get inspired by the beautiful items I love. I have been going to Canal Street Chic for as long as they have been open. I go there because I love the store, the beautiful items they have and I keep going back because of the lovely, caring and always friendly staff. In all the years, I have never encountered what they are being accused if. Body shaming? At this store??? Nah!! As an overweight woman I have often times commented on my own weight only to be met with uplifting and encouraging words from them. Complimenting me and being kind and caring. Women building another woman up. So I enjoy going there. So to see these reviews is unfair and disappointing because of my long standing customer experience with this establishment. To have family members join in just to increase the number of negative reviews counted is shameful. Should this be considered business shaming? What is the goal here with multiple reviews? Get employee fired and stop buyers to the store so they close? I give a five star review for the quality of their merchandise, the absolutely beautiful and highly fashionable items they offer for sale, but most importantly to me, the consistently high level of service and care and attention they provide. I highly recommend a visit to the store.

Very poor customer service. Staff was rude!Since when do you go into a clothing store (consignment) and ask to try on a dress that you have been looking at for awhile, just to have the staff person look you up and down and say I doubt it will fit you. Much less in front if other people ☹️👎

Cruise car show

I have shopped here on several occasions and I always find something great. The owner is very attentive to her customers and she knows what is in her shop and she has excellent style and taste. She is very helpful when I’ve been trying things on and helping to find something that looks good on my figure. And when I’ve just come to browse she isn’t overbearing and you can just browse and shop without being bothered. The lighting is great, there are plenty of mirrors and the clothes are displayed nicely and very well organized.

I needed a outfit for an upcoming event. The owner after asking a few questions regarding the event suggested a pantsuit that was perfect and she even gave me a scarf that finished off the outfit.I would highly recommend this shop and am planning on revisiting in the near future.
