Ive played at several golf courses in the area and Hidden Lakes is one of my favorites!! The course is in great condition most of the time. The short times they arent is just like all the other courses - due to aeration, which is a necessary evil. The clubhouse is one of the best!!! Spacious, friendly and attentive staff with great food and drinks at a reasonable price! The people playing there are always friendly and encouraging - not snobby like some other courses.Its obvious that the negative reviews are from those who got caught breaking the rules, being disrespectful to staff and/or other players and lashed out. Ive seen many people have total disregard for the course and am thankful when the staff addresses those issues promptly. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Great course, great people. I like the fact it is shorter than other courses. I cant hit the long shot and it gives duffers like me a chance to get a par or even a birdie. 19th hole is awesome

Great staff, great food, great time. We flew in from out of town, and didn’t have our clubs. The rentals they gave us were pretty great! Play was a bit slow, but that’s only because the guys in front of us were a bit older. The course was beautiful, but a bit narrow with some houses on either side of the fairway, so be careful if you’re new or not comfortable driving. Greens were great, and prices were fair. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Love this course! Friendly staff, great food, and beautiful course. Hidden Lakes is a “Hidden Gem!” My husband ordered irons from Hidden Lakes, came in quickly and at a lower price then the big box stores. Thank you Joe & Robert! It’s a win win!

Terrible time, a bunch of old grumpy men everywhere. Pace of play is 25 mins a hole. Told me nothing about a old timers league in front of me. Then as im playing, they had the grounds crew dictate my pace of play because they had work to do on several holes. More of a retirement home than a public golf course, never play again!!!!

Ive been playing golf at Hidden Lakes since the mid nineties, and I love this course. Its in really good shape, the staff there are so friendly and nice, and prices are very reasonable.

Liked it better than Daytonas course, better markers, better shape and course layout perhaps easier but the average golfer wont care.

The course was WAY overbooked. I understand we played on a holiday weekend but we had to wait 15+ minutes past our tee time to tee off, we had to constantly wait to tee off due to people taking 2+ tee shots even though there is clearly a line behind them and being rushed by the people behind us even though we were not the ones holding up the line. Better scheduling on weekend would improve everyone’s experience. We definitely won’t be returning here.

Was very good at this place of golf course was great fun and in great shape for this time of year. Going back next week.

Checked out a house for sale on the course and had to take a journey out onto the fairway. The course was in great shape and it wasn’t backed up at all for the players. Hopefully I can write a more comprehensive review once I move in.Edit: I have played the course a lot since I’ve moved in and overall it’s a good executive-style Par 69 course.The only issue is whoever the Golf Pro is. He’s kind of a d***. I’m assuming based on other comments that his name is Joe (taller, middle aged, dark hair) Otherwise, no complaints.

The course is pretty good a short par 69 on paper. More realistically this is a par 67 or 68, but I have had multiple bad experiences with some of the staff.The younger guys in the pro shop have always been helpful. The middle aged guy, assuming the manager, refused me the two carts I paid for (immunosuppressed in-law who had a time constraint and wouldn’t be able to finish 18). Multiple times the course was very overbooked 4.75 hour round. During 4th of July weekend they had the sprinklers turn on around 3pm. $9 for a bucket range balls is a little steep too. I’d rather pay more and go down the street and play than continue to give my business to this course.

Hidden Lakes is a great golf course to play, Staff is always helpful and course is in great shape. Play is fast and club house is a nice meeting place for after your round

Really wet and had to play CPO, but this was my first time ever playing there and was impressed with the layout and the fairways were in nice shape. Will definitely play again, hopefully when the weather is a little more friendly!

From NJ for the week. Played 2x. Great course!! Very good condition! Clubs are free to use. I liked some of the clubs better than my own! Very friendly staff. Food was the best Ive had at any golf course! Very diversified menu! OUTSTANDING! They dont gouge you for a beer. They had several specialty beers. Met the owners, very nice people.

Well maintained, fees are reasonable, challenging enough for all golfers.

Nice public course that serves a killer Fish Ruben sandwich.

We had a terrible experience with the golf person Joe. He was completely rude to a few guests the other weekend. Yelling and trying to fight a customer. Then proceeded to take it out on our team. We are locals and will not be returning to this course because of Joe. His lack of professionalism spoke monuments and we will not be returning. If I could give this course 0 stars, I would.

Great course. Probably some nice golf groups there. I played the course in January many times with my kids and my dad. Im a 6 handicap and chics luv me. I thought the price for my kids was a bit steep.

We were on vacation from upstate NY. Trying different courses, I picked this one out. Right from the get go we were greeted by Keith, and made us feel like old friends. Everyone we met from staff to players were very friendly. Not to mention what a scenic course!! This is definitely on our return visit list. Chris and Nancy

Played with my 15 year old son and his friend, along with his mother. Front desk staff upon paying was not friendly nor inviting. We started at 720am and finished the front nine at 910am. Staff member at front came into snack bar and excused us of holding up a two some. States we should have finished in 1hour 45 mins. Very rude individual. Wont return ever again and will tell friends to play elsewhere. No people skills. He threatened to give us a rain check and kick us off the course. Course was in great condition, but you should never be treated like we were.

Greens are lousy. Tee boxes are chewed up. Fairways have grass. Course has gone downhill.

Best Burger in New Smyrna Beach! Great beer selection as well.

I havent even played there yet but I know if they take speed of play seriously then its a good place. Ill be commenting after I play too!

How long does a round take to play:?

I was in Florida and had a chance to play it. As we all know, sometimes the general attitude of the staff at a golf course are a bit apathetic of your existence. The staff here was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. I cant say enough about it, the course was great too. After my round the owner Lee introduced himself and gave me a bit of the course history. Ill be back!
