This place is a destination in itself! It’s quite scary and fabulously ghoulish!! This Halloween in nyc all year round basically! It’s scarily great! The staff are so helpful and friendly! You can find so much costumes here! I highly recommend this place! Check them out for sure!!

The staff was very helpful, and they still had a larger selection on Halloween day. I went in to get some last minute additions for my costume. Found a cute wig and got lashes to replace the ones that were running late. Ill def shop there for more costume props/makeup!Also, most everyone was in costume, it was very cool.

Placed an order for pickup before 2pm cutoff time for next day pickup. I was charged. I still havent received a notification. Checked today on site to see how many was left in stock of the item brought and it was 0. I was patient due to the Halloween holiday, but not responding and having a phone that doesnt work make it feels like the company doesnt care for their customers. Im going in person later, will update based on interaction.

I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of NY and never experienced a Halloween store like this until I moved to NYC. This is one of the many great things about the city. You can find anything you want here, from makeup prosthetics to theater-quality costumes. And the friendly staff is there to help. If Halloween is your favorite holiday, then the spooky season is incomplete unless you make a visit to this store.

I ordered these wings online and as I’m opening the package they’re stained, falling apart and extremely stiff to where I could even open them. They also smell.

They have everything! Staff are very nice. I came up with more and more ideas of what to do for future Halloween costumes while I was there. In the days leading up to Halloween though it was very busy, so I would not go at peak times.

Never received order, cannot get anyone to answer phone for several days not emails. Can’t even get refunded this is been going on since October 15th??Order # 5983Still nothing and it’s been a few more days. Still cannot reach anyone at phone number provided!!

The service there at Abracadabra is very bad. I have to deal with employees that can never understand a mans taste. I went ahead to finding the place very dirty and very unorganized. It smells like weed and the place is very confusing to find. The staff as I said was very bad and uneducated. It smells dirty and musty.

Went there today and saw several employees not wearing mask. dont appreciate this store not taking this pandemic seriously

Amazing store, but We weren’t comfortable looking around. Instead of greeting the customers, they watch you like your going to steal from the minute we walked in. They all looked miserable. The only two people in the entire store that greeted us was the magician & a Asian girl who worked downstairs. It’s Halloween season where’s the spirit??? especially working in this store!

Thank god for Abracadabra, like magic they saved our halloween. We originally ordered a costume from walmart, but they screwed up the order and sent the wrong item. My son was so sad and upset because that meant he had to find another costume. I searched the web for hours to find a store that could get us the costume before his school parade and trick or treating, but was having no luck. That is until i found this costume store. I called to check if it was in stock, they answered quickly and advised me it would ship in time. I placed my order and in a couple days, our halloween was saved. My son was ecstatic and hasnt stopped smiling since. This place is awesome.

The main floor and upstairs has a ton of regular packaged costumes of all kinds, something for everyone i would imagine. Tons of wigs, make up and accessories as well. The true gem of this store is the basement where movie extra style clothing is located. To me this large basement area was very impressive and included fitting rooms and alterations. If you really want a killer costume Abracadabra can make it happen.

Me my wife and child had a decent experience. But the manager rudely told my daughter to put her mask above her nose and when we pointed out that the majority of the staff had no mask on at all she rudely told us she couldnt control her staff. So because of her we left and came across spirit a few blocks away.

This place is a landmark of Halloween and costumes. Not to mention the magic tricks. They have an expansive collection of costumes from classics to this year’s pop cultural trends. The lower level is a museum of widely varied rental costumes for those who want to go the extra mile. I’m talking studded Elvis jumpsuits and Samurai armor to name a few! Go here before the season ends!

This place is over price. I bought a jacket and bow tie. I called the store the next day and told them I didnt use the jacket and tie it still had the tags and I have the receipt. All I was told that all sales are final and they hung up the phone on me. I SPEND alot of money on your OVER PRICE MAGIC TRICKS. WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING IN THIS PLACE AGAIN.

Incredible horror and magic shop experience. If you’re in nyc then this must be a place to visit any time of year. Everywhere you look is something incredible to see. There are 3 stories of fun. Don’t forget to look up at the ceiling. An iconic new york destination you’ll love.

Amazing shop. All of your costume, mask, wig and makeup needs in one amazing shops. 3 floors. They have costumes for rent as well as to buy--a very wide range of everything. I was there for a wig and mask, had a plethora to choose from, and came out a very happy customer.

Great place to buy Halloween costumes and anything you need. The place is very well set up and has a great variety of costumes for all ages and even for dogs. There are also infinite amount or decorations and anything you can imagine so create the right scene at home or your party ! People attending the store are friendly and willing to help.

Love this place. Many effects make up kits to choose from staff is awesome they allow customers to look around and take photos while they shop. All my inquiries were addressed and was not pushed into purchasing anything. Left here happy with my purchases.

Incredible array of costumes and props for all tastes!

Creepy as hell but really cool pieces can be found here. They also have the most variety of and best masquerade masks. I was also able to get everything I needed for a cute, simple, glitter lip.

Only got to go here once, but it was great. Such a variety of awesome makeups and facial prosthetics, plus amazing costumes for rental. They even have coloured contact lenses. The staff were all super nice and friendly and helpful.

Insane costume selection for purchase or as a rental. Reasonable prices & helpful staff. I rented a Victorian gown & hoop skirt from here. Its basically a one-stop costume shop.

This place was absolutely amazing! When we walked in they treated us like family and were extremely nice to us. We actually got my plague doctor mask from there and oh my god it’s freaking amazing. On top of that some of their costumes are hand made and they look amazing, i’ve never seen such a large selection of costumes in my life.

Love this store, so unique! I worked there for the Halloween season & it was so much fun. Employees get to dress up & interact with customers. Items are pricey but the clearance area is the bomb dot com. Totally worth it if you love dressing up!

Great store with knowledgeable staff. I came in for a goatee and spirit glue. The color I wanted was sold out (I came a week before Halloween so it was to be expected) and they were able to help me figure out the best way to cut and dye the pieces to get the achieved look without damaging my new purchase. OMG!!! This place is Awesome I ran into it by mistake I didnt have much time to actually browse I had an appointment to go to. you do need several hours if you dont really know exactly what you want to look around its so much fun with all the masks wigs and the costumes, magic zombies scary stuff sexy stuff whatever you can think of its there then you go downstairs and there is the high-end rental costumes that are gorgeous or the clearance part. Unfortunately I didnt have time to take pictures but I definitely will go back! Also whoever I spoke to from the staff there were super nice and super helpful.

Go to Halloween Adventure. Its filthy in here and smells awful. Inefficient staff all around. Kind of a chore to go here. They only had half of what i was looking for.

This is hands down the best costume shop in NYC. And its also just super fun to go there and walk through the store filled with outrageous props. During Halloween week be prepared to wait outside until they let you in because its crowded.

Great store with lots of props. I was in New York filming a music video and needed some props which I found easily at Abracadabra. A really great collection and variety here, would highly recommend if youre looking for props or simply having a fancy dress party!

Everything you need to get in character is here. So many choices and options.You can also rent costumes but it’s SUPER EXPENSIVE. I would not pay that much at all. They need better tier pricing options.

This place has two lines for regular checkout. I waited for 10 minutes in one while cashiers kept calling customers from the other line. When I finally asked to be helped, the cashier rolled her eyes at me and said “I guess” and several other employees seemed fine with it around her. Mystified why I just have this store money.

Best costume store for all occasions. I needed a costume for my niece to wear on her 5th birthday. Not only did Abracadabra have the costume, but they pulled two options aside for me to choose from. Great store with amazing service.

Great store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I come here for props for my shows and costumes for parties. The only downside is that it is pretty expensive and no returns. So you have to be very sure of what you want.

Went here to pick up my daughters Willy Wonka costume for her play and it wasnt there but they helped me put one together. The customer service was good but let me warn you, no returns or refunds. I bought a rain coat to substitute for Willy Wonkas jacket and it was too big for my daughter and it was fresh out the packet and they wouldnt even let me exchange it.

Abracadabra is a great costume & Halloween destination. The store is quite large, and has an extensive selection of costumes, decorations, and accessories. The makeup counter has an insane variety of special effect and gore makeup. During Halloween-time, approximately 20 makeup artists are on staff to create fun and fabulous makeup creations. By appointment early!

This place is really awesome. I spent about 2hrs at the magic counter being amazed by cool tricks and I got very helpful advice from the makeup artist. Definitely going back again.
