Love this place! I stop by without fail every time I am in SoCal. The mission and lemon olive oil are staples in my kitchen. And their wide variety of balsamics are addictive. I have multiple bottles at all times. My favorite is the black cherry - perfect for salad dressing. I have also purchased online and sent gift sets to friends for various occasions. They are a huge hit every time! Thanks so much!

We have been buying olive oils and vinegars for years and this is the only place we will get them anymore! The exquisite flavors pair fantastically with so many dishes. The service of tasting the various types is so helpful and we love the pairing recommendations between the oils and vinegars. Just got 4 more bottles today!

My husband and I first discovered this shop while we were on our honeymoon. The owner, Matt, took time to teach us about oils and vinegars and gave us many samples so that we could find what we like. I only use his olive oil and balsamics now! I make sure to go back every time Im in Balboa and Ive ordered online when I run out but cant make it to the physical shop.Thanks to OO&B for the fun tradition and good food!

I visited Olive Oil and Beyond this week for the first time. I was immediately approached by the owner Matt Pour who took about an hour of his time to educate me on the fine art of making Olive oil and vinegar. He was a wealth of information and his passion for the subject made the conversation very interesting. He gave me many taste samples of his products along with the history behind making them. It was so good, I ordered many combo boxes as gifts for my clients and friends. Plus, Im going back for many more. Great store, great product and a very nice owner. I couldnt ask for more. I look forward to talking with Matt again.

If your on the Balboa Island Olive Oil and Beyond is a must stop. Matthew is always helpful and knowledgeable. We have discover so many wonderful oils here. And as always I found some beautiful Christmas gifts. We have been going for 15 years and hoping for 15 more.

There is no more special place to drop in when we visit Newport than to see Matthew and his staff. He is a gracious host, knowledgeable and articulate in his craft and understanding of all things olive oil and beyond. We are blessed to call him friend.

Love the size and selection - great produce, Boars Head products, Slagel Farms, solid wine/beer selection. Reasonable prices. But its the people that set it apart - big smiles, they remember our deli order, toss in a free bag when we forget. Highly recommend.

I was so close to buying the largest of their product sampled to me for my mom, but my mind was quickly changed when the owner grabbed my phone as I went to take a picture of the PRICE that was written on a piece of paper. The PRICE - on a piece of paper. I wanted to show my brother the cost/size so he could decide if he wanted to gift the product as well. The mans unruly actionsq destroyed any future relationship with promising customers, and I will never come back. Mind that this was the tipping point, and that prior to the incident he: rudely interrupted a couple trying to purchase products for their daughter so that he could inquire a total of three times how can I help you despite me answering each time that I was just browsing, insisting to know where exactly I was from, and guarding me from certain parts of the store. I tried to look past all of his quirks and rude questioning so that I could buy their product - of which was very good - but I had to turn around and leave after he he physically grabbed my property with his hands instead of just addressing that pictures were not allowed - even of the price.

Best quality and variety of imported Italian food products, hand painted pottery, cooking accessories and absolutely impeccable service. Matthew always treats us like family. This is a must go place to shop if you care what youre putting on your table.

We always top here when we are visiting Balboa Island. The owner is super friendly and gives you little taste tests of the delicious oils and vinegars. We usually stock up on some of the imported goods and always buy oil and vinegar to get us by until the next trip!

I went late one night with a friend as she needed to make a purchase. This store drew me in. Its clean, the owner made us feel welcomed and was very helpful with suggestions....not to mention how many different samples we had.

Ive been around the world, the entire world, several times, eaten at the best places, shopped all the markets, bazaars and stores and NEVER found better oils or vinegar than Mathews ... I was in this store and I must complain about the rudest employee I have ever encountered in my lifetime. I really dont care if this man is the owner, the customer is always right. This man hassled another patron about her not telling him what city she lived in, which is none of his business. This Lady was going to purchase several items, as was I, but this man just told her to get out of the store if she wasnt going to make a purchase. He never even gave her a chance to make the purchase. When she came back in to get a business card, he told her to contact his lawyer. I left the store without purchasing anything, which is a shame because I do enjoy the products. I will never go back to OO&B ever again and I will let everyone I know to never shop there as well.

I was re-introduced to this store by a friend (after trying a to-die-for balsamic at a food fair years ago) You simply have to taste these products to understand the difference in quality. In addition to the the delicious, vast variety of olive oils, vinegars and unique gourmet food items, the store is fabulous as is its staff. Matthew, the owner is extremely knowledgeable about his industry and a gracious host. He genuinely delights in introducing these wonderful products with his customers. Ive been cooking with Olive Oil and Beyonds products for a couple years now and I admit, Im now spoiled. I can never go back to regular oils or balsamics again!
