Cute little candy/ice cream shop. They have a chocolate counter with chocolate made down the road. Large selection of taffy that you can sample. Large variety of ice cream flavors and cones! They also have cute little prepackaged candy toys. The girls at the counter were friendly and sweet.

Every thing there was great. The saltwater taffy was great but the dark chocolate confectionery was to die for. I finished our seafood platter, crab, shrimp, ocean prawn, the and the dark chocolate was a great treat to finish off the feast.

Anybody with a sweet tooth? This is the place to go! Better prices than the other candy stores along the bay front yummy

The treats were tasty. However the line was long and it takes 2 minutes per item to make. The staff didn’t know how to operate the coffee machine. And they were missing multiple types of ice cream

We discovered this gem about 4 months ago. We have visited 3 times since then. We are always welcomed with a small and asked if we need help finding anything.Do take note that they are a cash only establishment. But there is an ATM available if needed. :)

We made a special stop at Newport Candy on our trip to the coast..my daughter wanted to go there above all, but several customers were not wearing masks. The staff report store owners directed them to not mention masks. Customers were not wearing masks despite the county order that all individuals in indoor places most wear masks. Will not be patronizing again.

The service there was bad. The Asian girl there very rude and keep getting mad my granddaughter couldnt make up her mind on ice cream flavor to have. I said she hasnt made her mind up yet to have patience.. She had the nerve to laugh at me. Wow would not go there again . her portions are small to others when i gone in there other times.

Pretty much stop here for ice cream when we go to Newport. Decent selection and good service. This place can get really busy in summer. When that happens it can be tough if customers get impatient. Ive only seen the employees here handle things well. Part of the reason we keep coming back.

Was very very disappointed today when I went to my screenshot with only $6 that I had because every time Ive went there Ive always gotten a good amount of ice cream in my bowl today for some reason the person just gave me two little Scoops the same amount that was given to my nephew for his kid cone Mall I dont get it at all I thought that when you paid for a full ice cream you got a bowl ice cream not just two scoops and a big old Bowl so Im giving it a bad review

Stopped by for a shake this afternoon around 3pm. There was a guy in there w/o a mask. **see other review by Baghdad Brian** The employee was chatting and serving him like nothing was wrong, I overheard him mentioning the fact that he was w/o a mask. I asked the woman working (the guy was in bathroom) why he had no mask, she pretty much said that if a customer comes in, no mask, there is nothing she can do about that. Hmm, seems to me that businesses have always had the right to refuse service here in Oregon...and I am talking BEFORE the pandemic, and PRIOR to the county wide mandate. Is getting exposed, (possibly) and possibly putting future customers at risk, really worth that 7 or 8 dollars you made? Definitely not impressed, and will not return. After seeing another similar review here, well, Ill just say it can speak for itself.

Awesome place. The two young girls working here deserve a raise. They were great as we had a huge group of kids and they had an awesome attitude.

Terrible service. Employee had long hair, and while scooping ice cream did not have it pulled back resulting in hair in the ice cream. On top of that she was very rude and rolled her eyes many times.

Pretty upsetting. I have been here a hundred times yet I dont know why I am shocked every time it disappoints me. I went in on 10/6 at 615pm. The open sign was on, online it says closes at 8p but the doors were locked and the stools were up. I could see employees inside but they just ignored me. I went to a different ice cream place but decided to call Newport candy and see if they changed their hours. A young girl answered and said they were closing at 7pm...... when I mentioned that the doors were locked she back tracked and sounded caught. She awkwardly said they were open until 7pm. I tried to get a hold of a manager by email or something but their websites dont work. Their Facebook accounts wont let you post on the wall. Clearly they dont care about what their customers have to say....

Great ice cream selection and yummy candies and popcorns. Theyre also really close to the beach, so you can walk a few minutes or drive just a couple and have beach access. Staff are friendly and quick. I believe its cash only though, no card.

The fish and chips are good. The chowder is excellent. But not crazy about going into the kitchen to go to the bathroom.

The samples for ice cream are smaller than my longest finger nail. The gal behind the counter with the brown dreadlocks had absolutely no kind customer service. No smile! Rude! Prices for ice cream resonable . Only 2 samples allowed and cash only! Really

Ice cream good. But the salt water taffy, hard as a rock. Too hard to eat. You could break your teeth on that candy. Good thing I only spent $3 on taffy. Dont go here if you want taffy. Go someplace else this is not the place to go.

Taffy was okay.

Nothing beats a fresh made waffle cone full of ice cream after a long day at the coast! They have good taffy too... The girls who work there tend to be high school age and generally arent very good at customer service. The girl who served us seemed to be half asleep!

Newport Candy is serving people without face coverings. I asked the staff about their policy and they said we are not allowed to say anything. Newport Candy had been a family favorite for 10 years - and now we will take our business elsewhere to protect ourselves and the health of the public.

Been getting ice cream here for several years. apparently things are getting tight because this summer for the first time they are pinching pennies by turning up the temp on the ice cream coolers. 2 times ago i paid before trying the ice cream cone today i tasted before paying. i returned the cones both times but today did not pay. this is ridiculous, if they cant afford to keep the ice cream cold they should shut the place down. if everyone stops going like i have they will shut down anyway!

We order a quart of ice cream. When we open it later that evening. It was missing 1/3 of it. FYI check it before you leave the place. Not happy at all.

Went here for the taffy and couldnt be more dissapointed. Its was old, rock hard, and twice as expensive as the fresh taffy we recently had in cannon beach. Will never be going back.

Disappointed! Young woman behind the counter did say the taffy was made locally in answer to my question. She either hates her job, doesnt believe in her product or was having a bad morning! The salt water taffy does not compare to my prior experiences, especially the salt water taffy on Cape Cod, Mass. No, no, no flavor and they are charging $7.99/pound!

Probably our last visit.My wifes ice cream was icy and tasted freezer burnt, I got a double scoop and the top scoop was about 2 spoonfuls.Disappointing, to top it off they only take cash so its just not convenient.
