Friendly people, but would not consider it a real gunsmith.Got my scope mounted with paper in the rings and not center over bore or level to the rifle. Paid too much and now have to redo it myself anyways.Waited 2 weeks because of multiple broken taps. So I basically paid $330 for 3 drilled and tapped holes.Maybe for simple rifle stuff they would be ok, but if you want it done right look elsewhere.
My lever action rifle got jammed up and Schlosser Gunsmithing did an excellent job repairing it. They made sure the repairs were done right and that I was happy. They have a nice selection of firearms in the store for sale as well. Ben was awesome to work with and I will send all of my friends their way if their weapons ever need service. The price was fair as well. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would!
I came to Ben with my sons Browning Citori cx. I had broke the site off trying to put a new one on. I had to get a 1 day turn around because we were leaving for a shoot that night. Ben was great very polite and down to earth guy he was able to get it done for us so that my son could shoot he next morning. He did a great job fixing and replacing the site. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend him. Thanks again
This place is pretty much going to have all you need. Definitely my go to.
Ben and Garrett are great guys and will take amazing care of you! I highly recommend doing business with them.
I cannot say enough good things about this shop and these people. Searched them on google to find someone to fix my 30 year old Remington 1100. They took it immediately and it was fixed within 3 days. Took it to a skeet trip and it cycled like a dream. Thanks again!!!
Super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We had a great time chatting with the folks at the shop. They answered all our questions and several we didnt think to ask. Its a very cool space as well. Very glad my friend recommended we check them out.
Ben the owner is a great gunsmith. He takes time to listen to what you need without up selling you. In addition to fine gunsmithing. The shop has a nice selection of new and used firearms.
Great service good prices fixed my, 357 magnum with the quickness and usually has different ammo is stock will return again💥🇺🇸💥 SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MOM AND POP SHOPS LIKE THEM
Awesome store, very cool history, and the owner is very knowledgeable.
Awesome customer service. Respectable gentlemen that are knowledgeable and will supply you with an abundant information regarding firearms. I purchased a rifle here and I am more than happy about my decision. I recommend others in the area to check this place out!
Ok for repair and old/vintage guns but nothing tactical or modern at all other than a few pistols.
Ben was excellent! Great customer service and exceptional work. The work was completed as promised with no issues and WAY sooner than expected. Ben’s prices were very reasonable as well. I would highly recommend Schlosser Gunsmithing to anyone! Five Stars!
Ive taken firearms ranging from 50BMG to 22 magnum to Schlossers and i couldnt be happier with the work theyve done. They are very responsive and the turn around time is always reasonable.I would and have referred friends and family to them.
Great place. Have a wide selection of firearms and fair prices. People there and knowledgeable and are great to talk to. After purchasing a firearm here, later went in for a sight replacement. The cost was fair, the turn around was VERY quick. If you ever have any questions, the people their will do their best to get you an answer
I had been a long-time customer of the gun shop and was gratified to find that the new owner, Ben Schlosser, is carrying on the fine tradition of outstanding, personal customer service. In my search for a deer rifle as a Christmas present for my son, Ben was most helpful in listening to my needs, discussing various options, and guiding me to the best rifle. My son and I are comforted to know that there will be in our neighborhood for many years to come a top-notch professional who can meet all of our firearms purchase and repair needs. Thanks, Ben.
Awesome customer service and workmanship. Extremely honest and fair pricing as well couldn’t be happier
I went to Schlossers to see about getting an old shotgun fixed. After speaking with Ben I ended up buying two shotguns from him. I was extremely happy with his customer service and ended up going back later and bought two more shotguns so that my wife and I could go trap shooting. His prices are very reasonable and his customer service is great. Even though he does not have a large stock I tell all of my friends that if they are looking to purchase a firearm go to Schlossers first.
Peter Garret and Ben Schlosser together make up a team of the best of old time experience and modern sales.experience. ( I‘m an old geezer so I get to say this.)If, like some disgruntled complainers don’t like what this gunshop does —, and is *superb* at doing, the then just go elsewhere. Where the 7734 you’d have to go is your problem. Cherios ... Marc
The work on my rifle was completed quicker than I expected and at a very reasonable cost. I would recommend Schlosser Gunsmithing to anyone that asks.
This shady guy not only tried to over charge me, but he ended up keeping 50$ for a background check that he still hasnt called me about. That was over 5 months ago. Hes also one of the rudest gunsmiths I have ever met with very poor craftsmanship! His work is atrocious. >:(
He was blunt and to the point but did a repair in a reasonable amount of time and price. I can see why he has low ratings, its not a commercial box store with people trained to kiss your ass and make you feel special. Its an old school gun shop with an old school guy.
Got the action worked on my S&W 686....smooth as silk now. This is a REAL gunsmith, not some fly by night operation. I’ll be back when I need work done.
Schlosser gunsmith is the best place you can go! Amazing deals, craftsmanship, and customer service. Would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to go here.
Just purchased a new gun and the owner was knowledgeable and extremely kind. So glad I shopped local! I will return. Thank you!!
Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Wonder work refinishing an heirloom revolver. Highly recommended.
Getting an FFL transfer done in this town sometimes feels like youre herding cats. It takes 2 or 3 calls to get the ball rolling... some want faxes... some want emails... some dont even seem to know what an FFL is. So, I tried Schlosser...Night. And. Day.Filled out the form on Gunbroker. Called the next day--Ben knew exactly what I was calling about. No problems. No hassle. No BS. And... Ben didnt even charge me a transfer fee. Certainly, I dont expect this every time (and I will be using Schlosser again, for future transfers) but it was nice to know he appreciated my business; I had some sight work done a few months ago, and he remembered me.So... long story short... if you dont want to waste your time leading the blind with an FFL transfer, call Schlosser. I can also vouch for Bens sight work. Solid business, with great customer service.
Bee n collecting gun for 40 years he forgot more than my knowledge of them
I grew up in Newport and have visited Garrett twice in my whole life. One time in regards to a gun repair and one to inquire about a part for a rifle. Both times he was very rude and spoke to me like I was ignorant. I dont recommend giving this place any business and find someone that is nice and will listen to you without being degrading.
A first class operation. These folks are true gunsmiths and believe me theres a difference. Workmanship superior prices reasonable.
Ben is awesome and helped me pick out the perfect gun for my fiancé. I know nothing about guns and wanted to surprise my fiancé with one for his birthday. Ben was extremely helpful, explained everything to me, and my fiancé loves his gun. He has a quite a few guns and now this is his favorite! I owe it all to Ben!
Great service.
Should have taken before pictures. I brought in a marlin that someone had taken steel wool to remove rust. After bluing, it looks brand new. Couldnt be happier.
The place to go to talk shop and not get ripped off. Imagine an old school barbershop, where the locals, regulars and 1st timers come to feel comfy. The owner doesnt make u feel stupid if u have a strange question. And you can see some real good relics. They have complete Walther p38 that im gonna buy with my powerball ticket. Save money, buy local, shop here.
Took an old Russian Nagant in to Peter for a scope mount and a barrel re-crown. Granted, it took 6 months to get finished, BUT, the work was superb (he even had to fabricate screws to fit because the ones on the Rock Solid Ind mount failed). If youre in greater Cinci and looking for a guy to get it done right, and have (a lot of) time to wait, go here. Hes really reasonable in pricing: not the cheapest, not the most $$$, but for the work, you cant beat it. If you dont mind the wait, Peters your guy.
Old school but he can have your gun finished in decent time and it looks great. Plus just bought a llama 1911 there great price.
Very professional. I have been extremely pleased with the service that I received. Great buying experience.
Heres hoping Mr Garrett recovers from any health issues. He was more than agreeable when I took my Remington 1100 overFor a tune up and rebluing. Although I wanted to. I did not try to talk his ear off. Seeing that Mr Garrett is our best local option. I hope someone keeps the craft going when he does decide to retire.Old school gun smithing is like many things. Becoming a lost art.Today. Broken gun. Buy a new one.
Owner is really cool and pricing is reasonable
Schlosser Gunsmithing is a joint effort between Ben Schlosser and Peter Garret. This business includes a small machine shop as well as the customary tools of the trade. They are no less than legendary in the industry, not only for fine craftsmanship and customer service, but for restoring antique and collectable weapons.I had them mount Meprolight tritium sights on my Smith & Wesson M&P Shield about six months ago. Recently the front sight loosened and came off during cleaning. Ben Schlosser immediately remembered me when I walked into the shop. After examining the sight, he found that it was defective. Neither Meprolight nor The Mako Group (their American distributor) responded to emails. Even so, Schlosser’s purchased and remounted a new sight AT NO CHARGE to me simply because they had serviced the gun and they stand behind their work unconditionally.Needless to say, my next set of sights will be Trijicon, but Schosser’s will ALWAYS be my gunsmith!James SmithCincinnati, OHP.S. The Mako Group did eventually respond after I showed them this review. They wanted me to fill out a form with all sorts of details but would only give me a replacement or credit. They would not compensate Schlosser for the cost of the replacement sight. Too late with too little.J.S.
These guys always do a great job!
Cant recommend working with Ben enough. Professional service.
I had my barrel cut down with target crown and a scope mount drilled tapped and mounted. being new to this I didnt know I was being highly overcharged. I also had to call and ask why my gun wasnt done yet as he was many days over and he said it was done but couldnt find the time to call. he didnt seem apologetic and was actually quite rude. he then charged me another $50 as he ran into problems. i found out later that his work was mediocre at best.
Went in to ask some questions. The man was not nice. Ill never go back or refer anyone to go there. Why be so negative to a potential customer?
Did not care for the service I received. I was charged for parts that werent installed, and the technician was rather rude in nature.
I have visited 3 times in the past 4 years etch one was the same experience of some rude old dude not wanting to answer my simple question . I felt unwelcomed because apparently I wasnt asking the right questions I told him I had littel experience with firearms . And that was the customer service I received as a possible paying customer .
Old man doesnt know how to run a business.Too many competitors in his trade to be rude and dishonest!Triggers....etc.Not here.
Has great deals
Not friendly......PERIOD!!!!!
