Came in on a Saturday morning for an oil change and a sticker. Jason was very friendly and welcoming with asking for vehicle information and our requested services. Gave a reasonable time estimate and phoned ahead to inquire about suggested maintenance, which is always appreciated. After about 3 hours, our car was pulled out front new sticker and oil change completed, and we paid a very reasonable amount for great service. Looked for winter tires for my car. Had little luck since my rims 21 were hard to find some with. Initially tried to find all seasons.. they helped me find the right one. Kept me updated with phone calls along the way. Went in and got my tires done/ alignment. Def recommend and will go in the future for my summers / even regular maintenance etc!

I highly recommend the Newton location. I have never had a bad experience there. I drive an older car which has had a few issues. They have been diagnosed promptly and accurately and I have been given fair prices for services. I really appreciate that they dont talk down to me and assume I dont know anything about my own car because Im female. Although I am not a mechanic, I know a lot about this car simply through having owned it and driven it. The staff at Pleasant Car Care listened to my concerns and even offered to let me look at the underside of my car when they put it on the lift, so I could see the problem for myself. I wont go anywhere else for car repairs now!

Two of my friends took their cars to Newton branch and they were extremely unsatisfied with the service and price. One of their cars had issues with break and tires, Pleasent had the tires and brakes replaced but then it turned out that they didnt balance tires well and a light on dashboard came on and my friend had to return car again for further fix and another friend remained super unsatisfied with their prices, they were charging triple price. Overall Id say very overpriced place.

I did have more work done during the service visit after having a safety check done in addition to the oil change - highly recommend Pleasant Car Care- first time there after losing confidence in car dealership service, so was looking for a new local reputable place. SUPER OVERPRICED and not Professional!!! I brought my car there a few times. Struts’ lower control arms were in bad shape and they told me it’d cost 1100 dollars to have them replaced and I had em replaced for only 400 dollar. Check Engine light was on and they told me it was cause of gas cap and I had it replaced and then it turned that it wasn’t gas cap it was something else. One fog light had an issue and they wanted to charge me 400 hundred dollars just to solve fog light’s issue which is pretty basic. Overall I’d say ridiculously overpriced place and not quire professional.

Good appointment availability, courteous staff, seemed to do a thorough job on interior detailing. The seat upholstery was still wet from shampooing when I picked up the car, and this temporarily messed up the passenger seat ability to detect a passenger/turn on and off airbags. We ended up drying out the seat at home and this fixed the issue.

I felt pretty torn about leaving a review, as I usually dont, especially if my experience was negative.The folks at Pleasant Car Care were very friendly and Im glad they could replace the two tires that needed to be replaced.However, after paying $375, then looking for receipts for the last tires I had replaced a few years ago, and after consulting other shops in town and my father (whos been a mechanic for 40 years), I now know that I was ripped off. For reference, I drive a Honda Fit, which requires no special/abnormally sized tires.As I am a student, that much money really was a huge blow. I really needed my tires fixed that day, one of which was flat, so felt I was in a vulnerable position of not being able to call around town. Pleasant had great reviews, so it seemed OK; however, I wont be coming back.

They let me look at the car on the lift and pointed out everything that needed to be fixed. Ive taken my car here twice. Once for a flat tire. The most recent time was for brake pads, oil change, and some broken part.Very fast, they usually have the parts available. They also offer a free loaner car.

I was pleased with my experience. I needed Mass Air Flow Sensor that needed to be replaced. This was covered under my extended warranty. They received me the same day of my call. Worked effectively with the warranty company so I had minimum out of pocket expense. Got parts quickly. They cleared the check engine light within a few hours. From the first call, everyone at Pleasant Care Car was super friendly, responsive and accommodating. My car died at 3:30pm, towed to the shop by 4:15, and then 10 minutes later I got a call from Jim that he would get me in that evening (they close at 6:00). Jim and Bill updated me every step of the way and got me in and out really quickly. Erin at the front desk also was super friendly and helpful! After Charlie test drove my car, he ran it through the wash for me to get the pollen off. I will be using them from now on for all car care and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!!

I went in to get an undercar shield installed and they made it a quick and painless process. They didn’t try to hassle me to get other services done “while they had me” which has been my experience at a few other shops before. They did let me know about a potential issue, but kept it real with me. Will definitely be using them, in the future, for my vehicle maintenance needs.

Great repair shop! I had an issue that I didn’t understand or know how to root cause and they were able to resolve that and more. I want to love this place, they are very friendly and conveniently located. I have gone twice and will likely not go back, my first visit I went in to get a tire repaired and they replaced two other tires, I went back and they fixed that tire as well but it was an extra day of car repair. My second visit was for a replacement tire and after being told it would be ready that day I got a call telling me that it would be ready tomorrow because my car was all wheel drive(it isn’t.).Again super friendly place, if they did what they said they would do when they said they’d do it I would never go elsewhere.

Not going to lie I had an amazing experience with them. I got my car fixed with them and spent more than $2200 for a transmission axle and other things. After about 2 weeks, the transmission seal broke. It never happened before. Started to leak transmission fluid and my transmission got stuck. Had to spend another $300 for a seal and 3 quarts transmission fluid. On the phone, Jim mentioned that the first seal they put it also broke (it shouldnt if they put in the correct one.) Got it checked from another mechanic and he said they didnt put Honda original seal. I didnt care about that as much but when he showed me the position of my axle, its all shaking and loose. I called Pleasant Car Care and asked for Jim. The lady told me he will call me back in about a minute! He never did. Not sure whats going in since this isnt my 1st time with time them. But disappointed since my car was mighty fine before. It doesnt drive the same either after I got it from them.

For years, Sean Sullivan always takes great care of me and even follows up with me on nights and weekends to help me with better understand what my vehicle needs and why. Sean also helped me prolong the life of my previous vehicle another 2-3 years (and over 200K miles) due to his diligence and professionalism. My experience with the people at this repair shop was genuine, friendly, and incredibly professional. It couldnt have been done better without the man that helps master the best service experience. And that man is Jim. My review is long, but its worth sharing because it is one single experience that made a life long customer out of me. My 2008 Grand Prix had 110k miles, and it suddenly started to run very rough. As much as I wished I was nearby my usual shop, my engine was ready to flat line and needed to rest asap. Jim was the guy that made sure that my car got the best care possible as my situation was a bit dire. My problem was coded as a P0300. Jim called me and told me the issue and made sure I fully understood the situation. He of course explained the entire job, but it was (in short terms) $1100 engine tune up job.Jim called me a couple hours later to have me come down and take a look. Jim got the Charlie (the owner), and two other very experienced and professional seasoned repair guys wanted to show me a few things they noticed in my suspension arm and tire hubs. They let me video it (since Im forgetful and not much of a car guy) and explained what they found very thoroughly. And they wanted me to know this before they proceeded because the other repairs that would have to be done at some point down the road were going to cost $1200. They showed me this before I paid for this other job because they were truly looking out for my best interest. IVE NEVER HAD A SHOP DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR ME and the photos I shared actually screenshots from the vid i took to let me note/remember issues for later. They were doing this because they wanted me to understand they each took a look at it. This was enough to tell me that they truly have the best people take their time to give your car the best care. I was already so impressed by this, but this was only half the story.I ended up deciding to go with the $1100 tune up because I was in the middle of buying a house and buying a new car is not on the table. The next day, Jim gave me a call. He told me the unfortunate news. They did the entire tune up for me and ran the car only to find out all the work they did could not have predicted that my engine still did not run correctly, the culprit was a worn out internal bearing inside the engine. Jim gave me his condolences on the bad news, and explained **they would not charge me for the work that was done.** Jim never rushed or became impatient with me, even when I had a million questions. Im just a late 30s overweight male who knows very little about cars and doesnt have a gifted charisma that just makes people want to go out of their way to help. This shop didnt treat me special for any other reason other then that this is the kind of service and care to give everyone.

I just had my first experience at Pleasant Car Care and am really glad we have our go-to car shop now. Making an appointment was super easy, everyone I met at the shop was great. In addition to the oil change my car definitely needed a bit of maintenance that we had put off, and PCC did a full inspection and took care of everything that was needed at a very reasonable price. I brought my car in to check out the brakes and because the passenger window was not rolling up and down. Jim texted me pics of my brakes and rotors to see the wear and explained that they needed replacing. They also recommended tire replacement due to the age of the tires. They were also able to diagnose the window problem without taking apart the door. Jim was very friendly and took the time to explain the needed work. Communication was great in the timing of the repairs. I would definitely bring my car back for future repairs and maintenance.

Pleasant is always thourough. When I pulled my car in unannounced, (even though I am already a customer) they were right on my problem and scheduled me for the next morning. I could have left it there if I felt uncomfortable driving it. They repaired my struts under warranty and uncovered a ball joint that needed replacement. I feel they see their customers bring confident in their vehicle as part of their job.

First time taking my car here, my car wasnt running and stopping while driving and after finding out my alternator went bad and they replaced it including the belt. Then I had the same problem and Jay told me it was the connector of the starter and had it replaced. Also, they did a thorough inspection and full diagnostic on my car and told me what else was wrong. He explained which ones the car need to be done as soon as possible and what else can be done in the near future. These guys went beyond and above for me and my car. My draft shaft split in half of Thursday. I was mortified because when I called the Infinity dealer I was told they wouldn’t even look at for 5 days. I called AAA and they referred me to Pleasant Car Care in Newton . Billy found my part at a cheaper price and had fixed by FRIDAY!!! The customer service is amazing. He also did a wellness check on my car so I would know what will be next in my repair maintenance. Can’t recommend them enough thank you Billy.

They identified and fixed the check engine light problem that I came in for, and several that hadn’t been identified before, which made the car much safer and a better ride. It’s very nice to be able to walk to a good repair shop.

Were new to the neighborhood, and I feel like I already found my go-to shop!I came in with a puncture in a tire, and they sourced new tires, swapped, and fixed the issues extremely quickly. More importantly, Jim took the time to explain and show why my existing puncture couldnt be fixed, and even showed me some work wed have to do in the future to keep the car in good shape. These guys did a great job without trying to hardsell/upsell anything not needed for the work. And theyre dog friendly and covid-safe to boot.

Was having trouble with the control of my vehicle last week, and was able to make an appointment at Pleasant Car Care in Newton the next morning. Within 30 minutes of dropping my car off they had brought it on the rack and immediately informed me of the issues going on. Unfortunately, my car was not in a condition to be repaired, but the personnel let me keep the vehicle there over the weekend while I figured out a solution with the local dealership. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful and if I have repairable problems in the future, I will certainly go to Pleasant as a first service option.

Pleasant Car Care was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I dropped off our car after business hours using their overnight drop box with a few notes on the issues we were experiencing and by the next morning they responded with pictures, diagnostics and suggestions on what repairs to undertake. They were honest about the ones that were more urgent as well as the ones that we could push off until a later date. Once we agreed to the services the PCC team immediately began work and had our car back to us very quickly.

Visited 7/7/2020 - 2014 Subaru ForesterCame in for oil change and new air filter, needed brakes/rotors, bearings replaced, and rear spring coil recall. If you have this similar make/model vehicle, go get the rear spring coils checked ASAP.Matt is easily my favorite tech and I always ask for him. Charlie, the owner, is an awesome guy and has given me rides to and from work (worked in West Newton back in the day) when my car needed work done. Theyve added some new techs over the years, and I wouldnt give it a second thought to trust the newer mechanics too.Theyre very thorough, which can mean you *think* youre going in for one thing and now its a few things you need to get done. I dont think this is unlike any other shop, but in this case, you shouldnt feel like youre being taken advantage, which as a woman can often feel like you are. That stigma still exists out there, but not at this shop.Ultimately you need to be aware of what might need adjustments to your vehicle prior, so that there arent any big surprises coming your way when they call you.Yesterday, I came in for oil change and ended up needing rear brakes and rotors. I was not surprised by needing brakes etc, BUT they found a cracked spring coil on one side, which could have been VERY ugly for me if not spotted. This is what I mean by thorough. Check the photo attached - this was texted to me when the brakes/rotors job was just about done, and told me to call around town to Subaru dealers that can get this fixed for me. I got lucky and was able to wiggle my way in at Quirk in Braintree MA. I am going on a road trip this Saturday and the timeline was tight, so again, I got super lucky.To add, its also good to know the status of your warranty. One time I brought my 2016 Jeep Wrangler here and they found axel leak for both front axels. I was very surprised by the issue and wanted a second opinion. I took it to the dealer because its a certified pre-owned, and this type of issue was covered under my warranty at the time. Pleasant Car Care gave me an estimated of over $400.00. They wont know about the warranty unless you tell them, and they might make you go to your dealer anyway, so just know this right up front and you wont be annoyed like I was. Hindsight, I didnt read my warranty coverage.I give it 4 stars because their prices are comparable to other shops, and in some capacity, can be a little more expensive. You get what you pay for.

Had an oil change it took less than a half hour Great staff so easy to work with

They take good care of me each time I bring my car in. They charge reasonable rates, communicate well, and perform their services competently.

Pleasant Car Care was great! They were able to take my car on very short notice and got the repairs done the same day I brought my car in, despite that short notice. They were very helpful in explaining what repairs were needed and even sent me pictures to help show me what the issue was. Will definitely be going to them again!

Charlie and the crew are amazing, and I am very happy to be a long term customer of theirs, for all regular maintenances and repairs. Highly recommended.
