Couple of weeks ago stopped at Mercantile 37 for lunch with a buddy while heading north. The sandwiches were flavorful and worth the visit alone. Ended up buying a bottle of liquor for my brothers 50th birthday celebration as well. Before I gave it to him heard him and his buddy discussing Old 55. What luck, he loved it.
Absolutely awesome place. Delicious turkey sandwich! Numerous local artists creations for sale. Fun place to eat and browse.
Such great people who work there. The food at Wheelers is delicious Nd the items for sale in the Mercantile are lovely.
On a quiet country road amidst the corn fields and green summer crops I visited MERCANTILE 37 this summer and discovered a delightful oasis of delicious snacks, luncheon treats and a healthy choice of beverages. The area next to the Cafe was the modern version of an old fashion sundries shop, brimming over with handsome handmade local treasures. In the rear was the workshop for custom crafted wood products and furniture and having the inviting aroma of new and weathered timber. I cherish the memory of a joyous, satisfying afternoon in the middle of USA.(AKA: An old Lady from the Pacific Rim)
One of a kind stop! Interesting, unique and local products and services are available. Friendly and helpful staff, too! So pleasantly surprised to find vegan options; they navigate food sensitivities easily. Well be back!P.S. My husband loved the beard soap and oil, Barbershop scent. Now if we could make this into a cologne...
A hole in the wall!! I was driving down 37 after leaving Indy and came upon this little handmade local gift store & coffee shop. I could’ve spent so much money in the store and the coffee was fantastic! I tried the caramel latte along with a ham sandwich meal and absolutely loved it! I will definitely be back & tell my friends about it!!
Amazing Coffee and sweet little antique shop
Best drinks, best food, best service!
Nice slice of Americana and hospitality in the middle of America. This store and coffee shop is a free aromatherapy treat, if you are out in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful. Coffee and Big Cheese sandwich were a great impromptu lunch treat.
Ok, totally surprised and excited to have found this diamond hidden out in the Indiana cornfields!!!!! Cannot say enough how delicious the food (biscuits and gravy....$5.75!!!!!!)..was/is and the coffee..🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 out of this world. But, I believe that is just the tip of this colossal iceberg in the middle of Indiana. Really, amazing and the staff...engaging, funny, witty...and sincerely nice. Loved the food and adored the shop, too many things to see and want or need. Definitely a must see/road trip!!!!
Fantastic blackberry mocha latte. Highly recommend it. The shoppe next store is amazing too!!!
What a great find! Stumbled on the Mercantile rn route to a wedding. This shop is awesome! Great selection of products by local makers, custom furniture and lighting made with reclaimed materials, and a little cafe too. All in an historic building. We plan to stop back for a meal in the cafe.
Great decor. The Cafe was delicious. The market had many unique locally made items.
A must-see on 37! Wheelers quality sandwiches are worth the trip alone. Perfect stop for not only gifts and amenities, but custom furniture too. The owners are very friendly, and everything sold there is local! Keep it up Roudebush team!
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Everything on the menu is awesome!
Oh my goodness their roast beef sandwich was out of this world. And we didnt even go there for the food. ha ha.I always passed this building on my way up to the lake when the building was vacant. Merchantile 37 is a prime example of how to properly repurpose an old space for a new life. The selections of items are quite varied and you can even peer into the workshop from various spots in the store. Great craftsmanship and what is sure to be a great business and draw for the area. Well done.
Cinnamon roll and coffee better than ANY ANYWHERE...Service was great with a twist of humor! Makes you want to go back everyday!!!
Lunch at Wheelers Cafe. Excellent sandwiches. Highly recommend the Turkey sandwich. Th Bacon jam and sliced apples, amazing combo!
Wheelers are number one good food and drinks, and got me some goats milk soap ant 37 Mercantile
Awesome to see a landmark restored! Good food and friendly atmosphere, thank you!
Good food, nice gift shop. I like that they use local products and have hand made items.

Awesome place to visit. I am excited to order a new hand made mantle for our fireplace. The cafe is top notch
Loved this roadside store along 37. Country rustic products are sold.
This is a really cool shop with a variety of things to offer! If you are looking for unique home decor items, shop this store!! Some of the most unique and really cool decor items I have seen are here! I also stopped by the cafe for a breakfast sandwich and coffee, both at the recommendation of the man behind the counter! I got a roast beef and egg with pepper Jack cheese on cheddar jalapeno bread and the maple Lapel to drink. This was nothing short of awesome! The sandwich is full of flavor and the coffee was just the right sweet!!
Really neat place! Owners were super nice. I was just driving by and decided to stop to see what it was about. Glad I did!
This was my first time ever going! The coffee drink i got was so delicious! I asked the worker what I should get and she suggested this Maple drink that was amazing! Cant wait to go back!
Nice store. Quality products.
Wonderful shopping environment and super nice staff. Shop local!!
Great food. Friendly manager and employees.
Small Decor store with over 90% of the merchandise being from local artists and vendors. Lots of vintage/antique, repurposed, and handmade items. A bit pricey but quality is there.
A quaint roadside store off of highway 37 with ample parking. A wide variety of handcrafted items from signs to soaps to Bourbons and chatke items.
Very nice surprise! Sandwich was excellent and the store is amazing! Highly recommend!
Amazing store with unique items and local merch. A hidden gem that is worth the drive!!
Very nice.
What a cool little shop in the middle of no where! If you like old things and antiques, then this place is for you! The building is very nostalgic, and it a blast from the past. Definitely a must see!
Such a charming place! So many lovely things Id love to buy. The cafe is also really great with lots of unique and delicious drinks and sandwiches! I highly recommend coming here!
Lovely store where you can shop local.
The most excellent food at Wheelers. Love the Mercantile 37, so much to see, great selection of old, vintage and new. Love the atmosphere, and especially the people who own and run the Mercantile and Wheelers. Jr, Nick and their wives always has a smile on their faces. You know they love what they do. Neil and Angie always greets everyone with a happy smile. They make the best soups and sandwiches, oh and the coffee and desserts are amazing. Must see place to visit.
Very nice place had a lot soaps and lotions, handmade things nice place to go did not try the food looked very good though
Amazing selection of vintage and locally made items. Worth the drive to shop there.
Awesome place with even better people. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out.
The owners of this business are very kind! they will take the time out to have a conversation with you that is meaningful. they have the best breakfast food Ive tasted in a long time. The coffee is way better than Starbucks! If you want to go on an interesting date or meet up with an old friend this place is the spot to go!
Stopped by Mercantile 37 while on our way home from Christmas with my wifes family. We have driven by them many times before, due to being in a rush.Today, we had plenty of time for the visit.Such a interesting place, lots of antiques and collectables.A restaurant is attached and we bought two iced coffees and they were Fantastic. We will be visiting these wonderful people again.
This place is amazing! There are so many cool things. A great place to buy a gift or get a custom table made.
Cool mix of makers and the goods they sell. From farmhouse to industrial, there is something for all types.
Great Joe.
The lunch sandwiches and coffee at Wheelers were great! I really appreciate the owners focus on a simple high quality menu using local items. Mercantile 37 is also a great addition to Northern Hamilton County. The merchandise is local, high quality, and unique.
Great cafe and showroom. The quality is amazing. Its a must see. (Grab a piece of sugar cream pie cheesecake while youre there. Thank me later.)
Stopped by here on way home from noblesville. Its usually closed on Tuesday but Owners let us in. Great place for different things made by all local artists and some antiques. They have a wood shop in back which benches, tables and other items are made.
So sad you are not open on mondays. Im sitting in your parking lot. Came to see if you still have a very special item I wanted for a birthday gift. Love your store! So many awesome things!
Love the coffee and cinnamon rolls! Wonderful and super friendly service. You can shop for a variety of things from antiques to handcrafted jewelry and other unique items from local artisans.
Stop in and see the interesting and unusual pieces of local artisans works. So nice to see this long abandoned property made proud and useful. Loved our visit!
If you are driving the back way up to Mishawaka, IN, I recommend stopping here. It was the only place with a restroom for miles. I stopped for that reason and ending up buying this amazing bubble bath bar. If I ever end up that way for work, I will be stopping there for the food and other goodies.
There is always new inventory that I want, but the same friendly, helpful, smiling people. Good vibes all around. A happy place for me.
What an amazing place, full of high quality artisan made home goods. They have furniture such as hand made tables with reclaimed wood and salvaged bases, lighting fixtures, pottery, as well has smaller gifts. I highly recommend giving this place a visit, especially if you are a fan of farmhouse style decor.
Awesome! Love this place!
I have driven by this building for years. It finally has met its match. I finally got to stop in and see the place. If you are looking for unique items this is it. It has a little bit of everything. Reasonably priced items. Lamps, tables, benches, candles, pottery, soap, laser cut wood items, barnwood items, pillows, greeting cards....and almost everything looks as if it has been made by local hands, there were a few items that were antiques too..there is quite a few things with Indiana on it or in the shape of Indiana and it also has a cafe on one side. Would be a great place to meet for lunch or coffee. Two entrances from the road. Gravel parking lot.
Very cool! Handmade goods and coffee/sandwich shop. Also had local produce.
Stopped at Mercantile 37 today at lunch time and was greeted very nicely by Angie, met some friends who were dining there, and ordered a meal that was exceptionally delicious. Not too much, not too little, and the coffee was outstanding. The price was good and overall, a really great dining experience. I will absolutely return there the next time I am in Indiana.
I had higher expectations for this place. I guess I was expecting a Bonges like next level experience. How else could you drag people out to the middle of nowhere for breakfast? If it is convenient give it a try. Nothing bad here really, just not special.
It is cool to have asome local artist shop. I loved the fact the tell you hows barn the bran wood comes from. Its worth the drive.
Best kept secret...great food ... homemade items from local merchants... love this place.
Super cool handmade items
Had a great lunch a couple weeks ago, and stopped by Wheelers for some Kombucha today. What a great selection of unique gifts for grads to grandmas. Mercantile 37 makes so many things for home dec, and can customize something if you need it tweaked to fit your style. How about a portrait of your pet? A one of a kind kitchen table? Take time to wander around, its worth the drive.
Love the atmosphere! Coffee, history, beautiful works of art from paintings and signs to soap, oils, and candles. Its local. Its something Hoosiers can be proud of.
This place is over-hyped. I though we would be walking into a much larger building. The truth is, they have too much stuff in such a small space. Slow it down a bit! I appreciate the fact stay they make a lot of stuff in-house, AND sell for others, but there really is too much. Its cramped. I wont complain about the product quality because they do not make and sell EVERYTHING in the store, but I do believe they could find some better product sources. Overall, it IS a neat building and they have some cool stuff. Didnt get to try the cafe, but Im sure its fine.
Mercantile 37 occupies a quaint refurbished building south of Elwood, IN. The building houses a showroom of eclectic goods, ranging from local deluxe soap to lamps to tables made of repurposed wooden beams. But enough about the showroom; lets talk about the FOOD.Wheelers menu is not vast -- perhaps the product of a stick-to-what-you-know strategy - but the coffee is good and if you like a panini sandwich you will (probably) love the Tavern Ham and Mesquite Turkey. Both are flavorful and satisfying. If its too late for coffee, no worries; minor-brand sodas are available too. A good satisfying meal awaits you at Wheelers cafe inside Mercantile 27, but only until 2:00 p.m. though. The store is open Tues-Fri. 7-3, and Sat. from 8 to 4; closed Sunday and Monday.
The coffee is so amazing. Their products are great!!
Awesome place very happy it is here in the middle of nowhere
Cool place. Little pricey but neat. Owner was nice.
Very interesting local crafts. Lots of different stuff. Pretty good cafe.
Oh my gosh Im so ecstatic and excited to have fallen upon this wonderful gem.! The donuts were amazing it must have weighed almost a pound. For that Boston cream for your. And probably the coffee is the best coffee Ive ever had in my entire life I am 57 years old and I definitely know my Java LOL. The staff there was so friendly and warm. In the items in the store were so cool and I love the fact that they were repurposed I didnt find one thing that I didnt absolutely adore definitely got on the phone and called people that I knew and told them about this place
Such a great place to eat. Food is good, coffee is good, the workers are so polite and friendly.
