Not a bad place, lively and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food was pretty good. Our omelet needed a little salt, and surprisingly, their smashed tots were merely frozen, tater tots. The Irish coffee was good, and the pigs in a blanket were tasty.Good could step it up a bit, but I would be back if I’m in the area.
This is a great breakfast chain in Denver! Weve been to Syrup twice over a couple of years and both times have been excellent. The food is great, hot and tasty. The service is really good and the restaurant is nice, clean and open. The Nutella pancakes are the biggest hit with our family. The bacon with pepper and syrup is really tasty too!
I randomly ran into Syrup while walking downtown Denver. I was super Hungary and read a review saying they were popular breakt place. I like to personally try French Toast around the County and they have the best French Toast I think I ever had. The coconut French Toast is mouth watering. Get there before 2 cause they close then. Thats the only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 🙂.
Delicious!!! Nice place just inside a new-looking shopping center in downtown. Coffee was excellent!! Food was delicious…especially the French toast. Omelettes were huge!! Everything was tasty and service was great. Would definitely go back.UPDATE: We did go back! It was well worth returning on our final day in town. We tried different things, and all was delicious again. Coffee is A+.
This place is pretty good. I got the cherry creek. Not bad at all. My girlfriend got the monster burrito which too was awesome! Brother in law got the kitchen sink and I’m jealous I didn’t get any.. that looked good as well! Friendly service, niceeee nice drink choices and a great breakfast menu! I didn’t look at the lunch part of the menu but I’m sure it’s very impressive. I’ll return in the future.
With the COVID-19 restriction finally being lifted from restaurants and business establishments; I know that many owners are bouncing back and getting their place of business back and running. The staff at Syrup are a perfect example.of how a Restaurant needs to operate and run! Even tho they were packed the servers were very friendly and attentive. We did not have to wait for anyone to notice us or if we were missing anything. On top of the cooks pumping out great quality food the entire atmosphere and staff made us feel as if we were native Denver residence and this was just another Brunch day. I will for sure be back with more people!
Get there early on a Sunday! We did and there was no wait and the service was amazing. The cherry creek Benedict was great! You do have to add some salt then after that it’s great. French toast was nice and crunchy and mimosas although not bottomless they still have nice flavors. Fruit was also very fresh. Great ambiance. Keep up the good work syrup
Wonderful dining experience. The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are hearty to the max. The staff was super friendly and made the meal a truly great experience. They are a hopping business, so count on a short wait and for the servers to be extremely busy! Trust me, it doesnt detract from the experience one bit.
The food in here is absolutely great!.... Great drinks too. However, the service is extremely slow. This place is an excellent alternative if you have plenty time to enjoy the experience of eating here
The Maryland Eggs Benedict, which comes with a small salad (apples, arugula, blue cheese, and a vinegar based dressing), delighted my tastebuds! Also had the cracked bacon (5 slices), which is sweet and I love how the brown sugar and maple pairs with the oil and salt in the bacon; it may be too sweet for some, but you can get a side (3 slices) of regular bacon with any order. Beignets were good too, there are 4 in the appetizer.
BUSY even on Friday mid morning! Food was fantastic and the crack bacon was just that,,, addicting! Most impressed with the service. We were seated right by the entrance and thought Id be annoyed. The staff, one guy in particular, made sure no one stood in the lobby/bar area. Back to the food, it was awesome!
I’m from out of town... there was a bit of a wait because of COVID but they take your temperature and manage the flow of the seating very well. Good job!The food was absolutely ridiculous. Amazing. Delicious. The Maryland is an egg Benedict served on a crab cake, served on a croissant. It can’t seriously be this good. The pancakes are perfect. They have a hint of cinnamon, great texture. The wait was worth it.The portion sizes are very generous.5/5
There was about a 40 minute wait, which is to be expected. We were sat outside of the restaurant, basically in a mall food court, but whatever its a seat. We ordered bloody Marys which came beautifully garnished with olives limes pepperoncini and pepper Jack cheese. My fiance ordered the eggs Benedict with crab cakes which were pretty good. I ordered a highly recommended eggs Benedict with their signature corned beef hash, which apparently brought them to fame. I was very less than impressed. It wasnt awful, but it was definitely not worth any type of hype. I also got a stack of pancakes which were my highlight of the meal and really good.
We ordered a Benedict and apparently when they’re busy, they pre poach the eggs and keep them in a warmer, where they continue to cook until the yolk is no longer runny but hard boiled. Very disappointing!! Gordon Ramsey would be outraged! The cold tater tots just added insult to the injury. Do better.
Syrup was a very nice hidden gem downtown Denver. Its a short walk from 16th st, but the walk will be worth it. Its best to either get there early or try to call in a reservation cause the wait is about an hour. If you have a BBVA bank acct there is an ATM in the building. The selections were plenty and the food was wonderful. They have a variety of different butters and syrups. I recommend the pecan butter and the honey cinnamon butter, they go great on the pancakes, French toast or waffles. The waitress Holly was very nice and attentive. So if you are downtown Denver take a walk over to Syrup and remember they close at 145p
Not the first time here but every time I go, I enjoy my breakfast. The wait can be extremely long but the great thing is that you can just write your name down and enjoy a drink at the bar. The mimosas are okay, they just seem to always be kinda week. The Beignets are SO SO SO good, they are light and fluffy and the perfect appetizer. The crack bacon was perfectly cooked! I absolutely love how you can choose from different flavors of syrup and butters (the maple vanilla syrup and honey cinnamon butter were perfect). Now let’s get to the real deal...I always order the crunchy fresh toast to share and the Cherry Creeker. If you love corn beef hash, I promise you, you will absolutely love this meal!!! It’s perfectly cooked and mouthwatering. By the time you wait to be seated, you will be starving but they will make up for it by offering just overall great breakfast. The service was also great, as busy as they get, the waiters are on top of it! Like I said, the only con is the wait and the mimosas needing to be stronger but other than that, it’s my to go to brunch spot when I’m in Denver
Came for Saturday breakfast. Wait was about 30 minutes for 3. Quite a bit of people waiting so that made the wait daunting but time went by at a decent rate since they were getting parties in and out efficiently.Restrooms are outside of restaurant and require a pin code that they have posted on a chalkboard at the entrance.Had the The Cherry Creeker, their apparent best seller, per our Waiter. It was kind of bland. The tots were nothing great but had taste. The poached egg was over cooked. The hollandaise didn’t have much taste. We also had the ham and Gorgonzola omelette. The Gorgonzola was very overpowering. Also the stack of buttermilk pancakes which we couldn’t quite pin point what was exactly missing. You could taste the buttermilk but not in a way where it tasted good or great. We ended up leaving with at least half of our plates unfinished which did not sit well with me but the food was not worth taking home. Also saw a large party next to us do the same so that does say something about the food.Coffee is not worth the price. Better off getting an alcoholic beverage. The wait for our food was long (more than 20 minutes) considering we noticed parties (of 2 to 3) seated after us not in our section received their order before us.Our waiter was friendly and acknowledged and apologized for the wait which we appreciated.Atmosphere is a little noisy but bearable. I would recommend a try if you want to try something new but this place was not for me.
The worst gluten free pancakes ever. I realize that gluten makes everything better and with out it life its a little less tasty, but this was truly bad. The pancakes tasted bitter and the blueberry syrup might as well have been water. The service was very lack luster. My wifes breakfast burrito was average at best.
Great patio across the park. Coffee is good. The Benedict’s are awesome. But most of all, the service is impeccable. Had 4 different servers refill my coffee and water, one being the manager. Just great team work amongst the staff that made my dining experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend and kudos to the manager for creating a great team that provides great service. Highly recommend.
I’ve come to this location a few times and it’s been consistent every time. The coffee station is really quick for a grab and go cup, and the sit down service is great. There’s a typically longer wait on weekends for brunch (as expected at any brunch spot), but the cocktails are worth it. Food is solid, and you definitely get your money’s worth. I’ve always had to do a take home box because it’s so much food!
Just wanted to say the food was excellent and the service was awesome and attentive. I only gave 3 stars because of the hidden 2 percent service charge for “higher minimum wage.” They apply it after tax and I have never seen a more egregiously dumb business choice. Just raise your prices 2% and avoid calling it a surcharge? Or have it published plainly before I sat down. If paying a living wage is that difficult for the owners, just put it on the door so I don’t have to eat here
I really enjoyed the food.the french toast was amazing and their version of home fries had me addicted at first bite. Perfect savory to my sweet.Cant wait to take my friends
Great place in downtown Denver to stop and have breakfast. The portions are great for the price and the food is awesome. I definitely understand why the place stays busy. Which is something that you might want to be prepared for depending on which day of the week so the earlier the better. With that said I will wait if the waits not too long, it is definitely worth it. By the the way, if you do go and youre not familiar with where its at you will see the sign outside and a door that looks like the entrance, but you want to go inside of the building entrance to enter the restaurant. But in the case that you do have to wait theres an area outside of the restaurant where you can sit down and watch TV. Theres also shops and other things to do while you wait, within the view of the restaurant. Be warned though if you, your kids or any one youre with needs to use the restroom you will have to ask someone to open it up for you due to it being for guest at the adjoining accommodations I assume.
Delicious corned beef and Swiss omelet. Nutella French toast also satisfying. Four bucks for coffee should include refills; none were offered. Waitstaff was hardworking and attentive so I assume refills just arent included. Bacon would be better if not so sweet. Will try again!
Had some amazing breakfast here. I dont need to say more its amazing. Just come eat here.
I loved their breakfast alcohol drinks selection. The food was good for dine in and take out. Servers efficient especially for the amount of traffic they receive and the wait was minimum.
Service was amazing, food was great. Love the open bar in the early hours.
Not exactly what we expected. You can’t actually taste all the different syrups- you get 2 with any pancakes/French toast/waffle you order. Server took pity on us because we were so curious about the syrup flavors and ended up bringing all of them out. Buttermilk and maple vanilla were our top favorites, strawberry good too. The others were cloyingly sweet. Crunchy French toast was delicious. Eggs came out cold. They will sub avocado for meat if you’re vegetarian. Overall seems like a good place for waffles, pancakes, French toast but maybe skip on the eggs
Weve been here a number of times because our first experience was fantastic. However, the last two times have been lacking - last time, the poached eggs for the benedict were over-hard TWICE (sent the first one back, and it wasnt until the third time that they got it right). This time, the benedict was luke-warm. Still one of our go-tos for breakfast, but we may end up trying something else in the future given these two consecutive poor experiences.
My husband and I got here at about 9am on a Saturday and there was no wait. We had the coconut french toast and the strawberry fields french toast with a side of crack bacon. All of it was decadent and delicious. We left there in a sugar-stuper, but completely satisfied. All the staff we interacted with were kind and attentive. The house coffee was mediocre at best and the place seemed crowded for Covid restrictions, but the food was good. If Im ever in the neighborhood after Covid fizzles out, I might come back again and try something different on their menu.
Crowded, energetic local breakfast place in downtown Denver. The 30 minute wait was worth it. Very inclusive staff and clientele. The menu was extensive and offered something for everyone. Next time were im town, well be back.
Food is excellent, service is pretty good for being short staffed!
Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! From the welcome to the wait, to the drinks, to the food, all around best breakfast Ive had in a long time!I had the the Maryland with a Good Morning old fashioned. It made my day! I know the wait can feel like forever but its worth it! The hostess was hilarious too! Keep up the amazing everything!
Great little breakfast spot in downtown Denver, food was DELICIOUS and portions were more than adequate. Super friendly staff, top notch service!
Long wait but with it. Great food if you like sweet breakfast and great Benedicts if not.
For starters, Syrup is a great little diner, at their other locations. Here if you arent trying to hunt down the wait staff, you are left wondering why nothing is quite as good as at their other locations, and I cant think of a reason other than maybe its too busy for them to follow through properly? Also, avoid the sandwiches. They recommended the Cuban, and for that amount of money, I dont know what they thought they were delivering on, but it was neither a Cuban nor a lunch. Go to syrup, just not this one.
4 stars! We went they unfortunately skipped us on the the list. After complaining the manager stated we could go elsewhere…. We had already waited 30 minutes. They finally seated us. The manager did give us some complimentary appetizers, and discounted our bill. The customer service was outstanding once we were seated . Great food ! Good service!
Martha was amazing!! The service she provided was the best! The service was great from the first greeting to the exit! I highly recommended Syrup to start your day! The food was amazing also! This visit was a highlight to my trip!
WOW what a surprise find right across from the hotel . They have gluten free food. I had gluten free pancakes and be ready for they are huge filled the plate. Next day had gluten free waffles both pancakes and waffles are really good great taste and texture. THe service was wonderful very helpful. Also had lunch there and once again gluten free buns for hamburgers. THe prices are great for the area nice place will go there next time I am in Denver
Great food, friendly staff. Loved the Coconut French Toast and Kitchen Sink. The Vail Mountain Steamer was tasty too.
Great food, atmosphere, and even the waiting area was awesome. Parking validated from the garage for up to 2 hour, it has a sign that reads Syrup.
Everything was SO DELICIOUS on our 1st visit, we couldnt help but to ho back the next morning. Definitely the place for breakfast/brunch!!!!
I got the mile high tower in the breakfast classics menu and it was great. Friendly service and great atmosphere.
My third time here and it wasn’t until we ordered that I remembered why I wasn’t too keen on this place—Syrup, a breakfast place, doesn’t have any kind of traditional breakfast potatoes. They have tots, which aren’t bad, but for breakfast I like something more breakfasty, like hash browns or skillet breakfast potatoes, etc. And while we are at, something was off with sausage links as well, not bad but didn’t taste like a breakfast sausage. Still though my kids enjoyed their waffles and pancakes flights. My over medium eggs were cooked right and the Ultimate Bloody Mary was made well like a busy, boozy downtown place should do. The service was friendly but with the limited options for breakfast around the area it can get real busy.
Food was very good, wait staff friendly & attentive. There was a bit of a wait on our food. Waitress let us know that the kitchen was backed up.
This was the worst brunch experience I’ve ever had, seriously save your money and go elsewhere. The atmosphere of the place was not it, it was stuffy, crowded, and tables were so close together. The food was completed within like 6 minutes of being there and ordering, for what we ordered, that should’ve taken them quite some time to prepare being that they’re dealing with seafood and poultry products. The food tasted disgusting and service was poor. I love brunch places and trying new food, but this place is not the place to try. It’s could’ve just been the location, however, I won’t be taking any risks in the future.
My food looked great, but was very bland. The best thing here was the hash browns. The restaurant atmosphere also was strange. Just a big open room with tables and paint. Not what I usually experience at breakfast places. My server Alex was so kind and attentive. He was very busy, but still got me what I needed quickly and with positivity.
Wait was long. Food was good, but nothing special.
Not everyone knows, but they have a secret menu. Order the Grippo TachosIt is an order of the Green Chili Pork Stew, with Shredded Cheddar and Crack Bacon over the side order of Tots. One of the best breakfasts I had in Denver.
Food was delicious. Definitely recommend trying their special syrups. The coconut flavor was awesome!
Good food, but $6 for 5 pieces of bacon is a bit expensive, no? It was tasty but our bill for 4 people was over $130. Insaneeeeee. Our server was great though, very professional and nice. Very sweet host, super well organized and professional. I was surprised by the prices but I guess that’s what I get in Denver haha
Definitely try the butterscotch syrup! Good service! Get there early on Saturday mornings as it gets pretty busy.
Came to town for a few days from Iowa. This place was so good, we had to hit it again before going back home. The food was delicious, fair prices and good portions. Staff was so friendly and the restaurant itself is adorable. Great vibes. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town 😋
Very friendly staff and efficient service. All of the food was delicious. Highly recommend trying their specialty syrups.
Wonderful breakfast. Great service will definitely come back
One word AMAZING!!! This place goes above and beyond to serve you a beautiful dish in taste and looks. The portions are large and well worth the money. Not expense you will enjoy every bite. The staff was very friendly and kind. This place was super clean with the best vibe. The Mile High Tower was sooooo good
Highly recommend!
