I am not bias but PMT has always been a cool place to visit & buy from. Yeah on line may save a bob or two but you miss out on the bedside manner BIG time. Always worth trying before buying & taking in advice from PMTs Expert Team!

I’m sorry to say I had a really negative experience here. I was in the market for a new guitar and had never been to this particular store. Initially no one had any time for me. The guy tasked with helping me was clearly too busy and I felt I was just bothering him. The small talk was forced and awkward. I didn’t make a purchase and left feeling the whole thing was a waste of time. I went to Pmt Oxford the following weekend and it was the total opposite. Friendly and extremely helpful. Answered all my questions and I bought sweet classical guitar. It’s a real shame to have two polar opposite experience from the same chain of stores. I wouldn’t say don’t make a purchase here but won’t be coming here again.

This is the place to go if you want to touch and feel and hear the guitar . A great selection. Ive purchased a couple now and Ive always found them very supportive in aiding you finding the right guitar for your budget.

Service is excellent, staff are really helpful and it has a great range of equipment on the shelf. They have a studio for trialing equipment before you buy and they are super helpful at setting it up with you. The prices are really good and arguably competitive with internet prices with much better customer service.

I went there looking for a mixer. I didnt have a clue what I wanted, gave Geoff who worked there a very vague picture of what I wanted and told him I desperately needed something the next day. He could of pick the dearest item as I was desperate, but he showed me 2 (both good quality) and explained the difference between them and why one was dearer, then he explained the lead I needed, again showing me two and the difference between them.I didnt buy it then and he was cool with it, but I came back and bought what I needed as it was such great customer service.I went away and tested it, couldnt get it to work with the head mike I had.Went back to the shop and spoke to the manager who without hesitation plug my mike up (which I didnt buy from them) with the mixer I bought and got it working.The best customer service Ive ever had.If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Big love to Jim for all his help with finding us a microphone today. We bought their own branded mic which only cost £20 so very happy with it as it seems like a sturdy mic with an elegant design. I had a great experience at PMT today, the staff were extremely helpful and were able to sort out an issue I was having with my amp. Whilst I was there I checked out a few guitars (as you do) and had a lovely chat with the manager about PRS and Fender guitar necks.I also had a question about string gauges on my acoustic and very knowledgeable staff member was able to advise me appropriately. They also provided options of string life and asked my preference rather than trying to upsell like other stores might do.Buying things online can be easy, but you cant beat going to a store and getting advised by someone that knows what they are talking about, especially if they can put up with the nonsense of someone like me while doing it 😋

Great shop...lovely staff...took my bass in for a set up..Id been trying for weeks to get it right...10 minutes in the hands of Heath and it was fixed but for a few minor settling adjustments...the guy is a genius in the black arts of guitar setup...thank you so much :-)

My son and I went to PMT for a Rock Steady music class. The staff were friendly and helpful in spite of the fact theyd listened to kids bashing away randomly at high volume all day.

Good product range. Fair prices. Staff are miles better than those at my local Leeds Branch.Unfortunately, they didnt have any cymbal boxes or bags and insisted on charging me 5p for a regular carrier, despite spending best part of 700 quid in there... Otherwise, it would be 5 stars.

Been to here 3 times now and every time Ive gone to the till Ive been ignored even when theres noone else to serve. Tried asking about the pedals and guitar straps but they only seem interested in people walking in to buy high price items. Couldnt even get served when waiting at the front of the till to buy stuff. Given up and going to the nottingham branch now.

Great branch of PMT here in Northampton. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who are hands off if you ask them to be but super helpful if you need it. Have to be honest, I sometimes like to come in and just noodle on all the synths I could never afford. And they never complain. Perfect :)

Pretty much the only major music store in Northampton. The employees are nice and the prices great. The selection is also fantastic.

Great choice of guitars here but you will need a few quid. Their own range of guitars are called east coast and are good value for money. I needed to lower the action but thats just my preference. Theyre good coppies.

Staff need motivating. More training on PR rather than £££££. It may be a £200 keyboard this week. But could be a £2000 set up next year. It may be the only major music shop in town. But it’s not the only town !

We came here to choose a guitar for our teenage son. He spent the best part of the day in a practice room trying out different instruments. The staff were really helpful - we were never put under pressure and they let him play as many guitars as he wanted. They even did us a really good deal on the price. You dont get that online... highly recommended.

Excellent service and knowledge of the subject matter. Great level of stock and nothing was to much trouble when you want to try instruments. Small staff car park that I was able to use otherwise it will be the pay and display at the end of the road. Cant wait to return.

The best music shop Northamptons ever had? It certainly seems that way. If youre looking for a new guitar, chances are youll either find your ideal instrument hanging on the wall in here, or theyll be able to order it for you with a minimum of fuss. Such a contrast to a now-defunct music shop that used to be on Kettering Road (no names, no pack drill) whose owner saw fit to bar me because you spend too much time looking and not enough time buying - failing to take into account that musicians are generally skint and that the customer, however annoying, is always right.

A really cool music shop with loads of stock and the staff are very helpful friendly and knowledgeable.Not usually a fan of chain music stores but this ones different.The size of a chain with the personal and friendly service of a small independent..Very happy with this store, would definitely recommend to a friend..

Great shop but only because of the staff! When you purchase an item online, it may have belonged to someone else for 30days and isnt exactly new and unblemished. The Shops themselves tend to be great with very helpful staff who can talk you through a product and show you the pros and cons of something that you were thinking of buying! This is extremely important and helpful. Kudos!!

Took my sons electric guitar here for small repair before Christmas. They thoroughly cleaned it as well as repair (thanks). Took it back as appeared to be a problem, turned out to be something simple son had overlooked which they rectified with no further charge. Knowledgable, friendly and helpful, thank you

Surprisingly comprehensive selection of guitars and other instruments. Friendly but not too chummy staff who give you space. Fragrant demo room. Just a pity they didnt stock the spares I needed from keeping my P90s from falling out.

Came back in to buy some strings after laying off the guitar for five years. They still had my £25 credit in their old computer system. Well organised and honest.

The store, staff and presentation were all top notch. Staff were eager to help and assist with the things i needed, gave me advice and reccomendations as well as getting a second reference for prices around vs their own which i thought was an amazing thing they didnt need to do but went the extra yard. The quality of the guitars, gear and their availability is also second to none. Would definately reccomend this place!

Great range of guitars available, from stock, from Gibson & Epiphone, Fender and Squire to Gretch, Martin and many more. Friendly knowledgeable staff. HOWEVER, BE WARNED watch out for parking restrictions. I parked outside the pub next door, after 4pm on a Sunday - for 15 mins, mind - and got a 70 quid parking ticket!!!
