My mom has needed hearing aids for a long time and was able to get an appointment at Hampshire Hearing. I cant say enough good things about the support she received. The radiologist was careful, patient and kind in explaining how to use the ones she recommended. Mom is thrilled with the outcome. She can hear again without straining. Deeply dissatisfied with my former hearing aid clinic, Hampshire Hearing was recommended by a friend. Joni tracked replacement and insurance issues, listened carefully to my concerns, and after a lengthy evaluation and new hearing aids, I can hear better than I have in years. The atmosphere is pleasant (coffee included!) and all of the staff are welcoming and helpful.

Allie H. is absolutely the best. It was not until I worked with her that I realized I could not only stand wearing the things, but that I could not do without them. She has a very unusual quality of genuinely caring about the people she works with combined with really knowing her stuff. The rest of the people on the staff seem to be on an equally high level. I cannot emphasize enough how important the service aspect of getting the hearing aids is. It makes all the difference, and I know this from experience.

I’ve been very resistant to getting hearing aids despite having hearing test indicating that I need hearing aids and my family telling me that I need them. My RN neighbor suggested I see Amy Catanzaro, Au.D. Doctor of Audiology from Hampshire Hearing & Speech. After researching many options for hearing aids online I decided to make an appointment to see Amy. I couldn’t be happier with all the help that I received from Amy. First she listened to my reasons why I’ve been resistant to wearing hearing aids, then, she went into action using her many years of knowledge and experience as a Doctor of Audiology. With Amy’s help in fitting me with the right hearing aids for my needs I’m very happy to say that after only two weeks wearing my hearing aids I’m 100% committed to my new and enhanced ability to hear. My wife is also very thankful to Amy for my new hearing capabilities. I also want to thank Jill for her very pleasant and professional process.

Hampshire Hearing provides the highest level of hearing care. We received the most wonderful customer service from the receptionist who remembered me from a prior visit, the audiology technician dressed as raggedy ann and the audiologist dressed as an angel. We arrived for an unscheduled visit when my mother was having a problem hearing in one ear on Halloween!After understanding her problem, the hearing aids were quickly cleaned and checked, a part was replaced by the technician and the audiologist discovered that she had fluid in her left ear that was causes additional hearing problems. With this information, temporary adjustments were made to the hearing aids and we were quickly on our way.The exceptional service provided demonstrated that good hearing aid service includes addressing the client’s health as well as the hearing aids.I was so impressed and grateful to have received this high level of care. It would have been so easy to have just checked the hearing aids and sent us on our way never getting the hearing clarity that my mother needs for good health and safety. Many businesses state that service is the cornerstone of their practice. I met Alli Holmburg (audiologist) at the cochlear support group she hosts and I sincerely appreciate all she does for the Deaf and hearing impaired culture. She is most kind, generous and always smiling as she shares her expertise with us all.Recently, I had an appointment with Dr. Amy to map my cochlear. She too did an outstanding job for me. I will be eternally grateful to Hampshire Hearing & Speech and the extraordinary Allison Holmberg. After struggling through more than 10 years of mediocre (and worse) audiology care by other providers in the Pioneer Valley and with my hearing loss progressing precipitously, I was depressed and desperate when a friend recommended seeing Alli (she was just taking over this practice, after years at Clarke). I cannot fully express how finding Alli at that moment has affected my life. She guided me, with expertise, generosity, and endless creative experimentation, through the immensely challenging transition from hearing aids to a cochlear implant. Unlike other audiologists who only serviced my hearing aids and provided none of the education, supports, resources, or even referrals I needed to develop strategies, get accommodations, and otherwise manage the many dimensions of progressive hearing loss, Alli helped with EVERYTHING, and with such kindness. When I had a question or need she didnt know how to answer, she researched, checked with colleagues and other patients, borrowed and lent me assisted listening equipment and multiple different hearing aids to try, scheduled me to see her as often as I needed as we tested strategies. After my implant, Alli began hosting a group of us with C.I.s for bi-monthly dinners; weve been getting together for a few years now, with Alli feeding us, bringing experts in to speak with us, and creating a space where we learn from and support each other, and troubleshoot living with implants. This is just one example of the lengths to which she goes. Now she has expanded Hampshire Hearing with colleagues who share the same professionalism, values, and commitment to excellence. With Dr. Amy Catanzaro and Dr. Joni Skinner on board with Alli, Hampshire Hearing is THE place to go in western Massachusetts for audiology care, hands down! I came into Northampton on an emergency, to visit a friend who was dying.I had some problems with my hearing aid system. I called, and they fit me in that day without an appointment and took care of my problem. The staff were so kind and understanding, and competent.
