This is the second time weve used this company for moving and they did an absolutely fabulous job again. The crew was respectful and professional. Would definitely recommend them!!!

Guys showed up promptly at our house and packed up way faster than I thought it was going to take them; even the unpack at my place was fast (and they mentioned feeling they’d been slowed down because people kept using the elevator and couldn’t figure out they had to press a button to manually close the doors :p). So all in all it wound up being less $ than I was originally quoted, which was great. They also got this very large, heavy bookcase my boyfriend said there was no way was going to fit down the hall, and made it look easy to boot. Very happy.

The workers were awesome but could not complete my move. Despite the contract stating they would move 6 pieces of large furniture. I then proceeded to speak to a manager explaining they did not fulfill their contract so I would pay for what was moved. He then double charged me and they left the items they could not move out in the rain and drove away. Awful service and completely unprofessional.Edit: I was informed in the response i was charged hourly. I was quoted at 685 for 3 hours of work. I was then charged over 1500 dollars and the move did not take 7 hours. Also in addition to the box spring the electronic couch was left In the rain still. 685 divided by 3 hours is 228. So assuming the hours were correct thats over 6 hours of charge time to move from chicopee to chicopee.

The final charge was way over the estimate. Damage was done to furniture and was not compensated appropriately. And the owner, Pats response, was dismissive and condescending. I would not recommend, there are a lot of other moving options in the area to go with instead. He does hire nice, polite, hardworking movers though.

I was extremely pleased with a VERY difficult move. Extremely difficult, heavy pieces, second floor, minimal room. These guys made it happen and I’m extremely thankful. Did a great job.

I had an excellent experience with Five College Movers. It was the most stressful move of my life, especially in a pandemic. I had to move two locations at once to two new locations in a different state and underestimated how much stuff I had. They came on time and were happy to help. Some of the guys joked and told stories. I appreciated their lightheartedness during an incredibly stressful time.They figured out how to make all my things fit in the truck. When we encountered challenges, they troubleshooted and found quick and simple solutions. Having a great attitude and being helpful goes a long way with me. They arranged my furniture and assembled everything in my new home, including my washer and dryer. They made the move less stressful and I will always appreciate them for that. It was definitely worth the money. I strongly recommend their service.

Follow up to previous review: owner immediately reached out to not only complete the claims resolution but to offer apology, and explain their intention for better processing operations for their future customers. He did not ask me to update this, but future customers should be aware that the company did take immediate remediation action.DO NOT USE. Movers themselves were great young men. Professional, respectful, and strong. That’s all you need out of them. The management team should NEVER be allowed to operate a business. They are a month delinquent on responding to my damage claims that the MOVER insisted I file, after he accidentally damaged multiple planks of my hardwood floors. I have called 6+ times looking for resolution. Not for hundreds of dollars. Just resolution. On the most recent call over a week ago, Phil told me “I don’t like hearing from you as much as you don’t like having to follow up” and to “temper my expectations”. Essentially, leave us alone. I was then told I need to send an email asking for a follow up, because calling wasn’t sufficient. Was told I would hear back by the end of the week. That was a while ago.Save yourself the drama and headache. Moving is already hard enough.

These guys were great. They were fast and polite. Can pay all including tips with credit card. Would definitely hire again.

Five College Movers was all I could ask for in a mover. They were on time, very professional (never once did they touch their cell phones!), and quick! It was hot and humid and that never stopped the two young men. Thanks Five College Movers!

Really bad experience with these guys. On the day of the move, they sent three guys, one of which was so inexperienced he had no idea how to move a washing machine and dropped it. I filed a claim for it and a broken chair and thats where things got quite unpleasant. I tried to get clarification from the owner who got an attitude with me. They also broke one of our four dining room chairs. When I sent photos through the claims process, he asked for more. Then he asked for more. And more. Even though the photos were clearly showing damage to our items. They do not stand by their work and are a two bit operation. There are plenty of other movers in the pioneer valley, use them instead.

Great experience with Five College from start to finish. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Incredibly pleased with how they were able to accommodate around my busy schedule and with how smooth the whole process was. Highly recommended.

The office staff was very responsive when I was scheduling the move. The movers were very nice and the actual move went fine. On the day of the move they had me give my credit card information over the phone to pay, which I did. Soon after, I received an email invoice, which I did not pay because my credit card had been charged. A couple of weeks later, I received a notice that my payment was 21 days overdue. I emailed and called the office. The person I needed to speak with was never in. I kept telling them that my credit card had been charged. I even provided a screen shot of my credit card account to prove that it was charged. I was told that it was an authorization, not a charge, even though a phone call to the credit union where my VISA account is held confirmed that my card was indeed charged. Then I had to wait a week while the person who handles accounts was on vacation. Finally, almost a month after my move, I just received an emailed invoice that my balance is zero. No personal follow up by phone or email. So I’d say that the movers are fine, but the customer service is really lacking.UPDATE: After writing this review, I did receive several emails regarding the billing situation, with an apology, but also asking me to consider changing my review as not to damage their business. I stand by my review, as the information in it is accurate, and I believe that the time for outstanding customer service was during the 3 weeks I was communicating with Five College Movers about the accounting error that caused this issue.

Weve used Five College Movers twice now in the past 7-8 months. That we chose them directly for the second job tells you that we were very pleased with their work. They were quick, efficient, and careful with my property. I felt I got good value for my money. We plan to use them again.

Sean and Jake were our movers yesterday and they were fantastic.We were moving the contents of a studio storage from Easthampton to Northampton. The majority of the contents were books, which are VERY heavy and a set of very large file cabinets and works of art. The guys worked enormously hard and were congenial and polite throughout.The billing process and scheduling were smooth and we appreciated the paperless transactions. The pricing we found to be very reasonable and from the time I made a call to inquire about pricing and availability until the move was complete was just 4 working days - we couldnt be happier.

Just moved with Five College from an older home in Florence to a new home. They did a great job. I had four guys and two trucks for two days. Kudos to all of them. No problems at all.

Moving team was excellent! Moved our family over 2 days from Northampton to Longmeadow. The crew was friendly and very strong and efficient. Look no further!

I do not like customer service, it is a fault I respect you that I hang up the phone several times, I want everyone to know about your bad service. Maybe its because of racism.

UPDATE: I originally posted the review below w/ 4 stars, FCM got in touch shortly afterwards and offered to pay for any dry cleaning we had to do as a result of the water issue. They also made it clear that theyre not trying to influence my review and that I should leave it as-is, just that they didnt want me to have a bad taste in my mouth. This was an excellent response and I would now be quite willing to use them again knowing that theyre willing to deal with any issues that occur during the move.----------------------------Overall did a great job with a couple of bumps along the way. The movers were super nice and careful with the loading / unloading of our stuff. They were responsive to my directions and last minute requests, which was much appreciated in this fairly chaotic move.The first bump happened because there was a fairly large hole in the upper corner of the truck and we had them store our stuff overnight. It rained pretty heavily that night and some rain water made it in. Fortunately, nothing was damaged beyond repair because our electronics and furniture were packed further up the truck. The rain water soaked some clothing and a comforter that we were able to wash pretty quickly. It also destroyed a few cardboard boxes but didnt affect the contents, so no real harm done in the end.We probably lost 4-5 plastic totes from them being stacked so high and crushed so about ~$50 worth of damage, but from what I understand this extreme tetris-ing allowed them to avoid bringing in a second moving truck so probably saved us hundreds of dollars off the total in the end.They were quite apologetic about these issues, which was appreciated. I would consider using them again but just make sure to check the truck out for obvious issues beforehand.
