The quality of produce isnt always comparable to other stores I shop however the staff are very nice. They have a quality deli meat and decent prices. It is worth having the BigY card to get the deals though. You do need to bring in your own bags or you get charged for the paper bag per bag.

It’s the deals, the service, the meat department and bakery are amazing, there’s a veritable food court and a cafe to sit and eat. Most of all there’s a great vibe to the store with the friendly and engaged staff-bring your reusable bags!!

Alot of easy and quick meal ideas. Everywhere in the store was fresh food. Not to mention the price so much cheaper than other stores.

Another great grocery store, perhaps a bit more pricey? Alot more convenient for Hingham/Rockland/Norwell residents as going all the way to Abington is a little bit of a drive....

Its been a long time since Ive been to a Big Y because there arent many of them around anymore, and my visit to this one gave me a good idea why. First, Id like to say the manager who stopped in the middle of what he was doing so he could answer my question was very nice and professional, so my comment is on him but rather the worker in the self-checkouy area. I didnt have a store card and he was politely pushy trying to get me to get one. One of the items was on sale but you needed the card to get it, just like at stop and shop at other stores. He told me I was out of luck because I didnt have a store card. I didnt want to go through the time of getting one so I said no thank you. He told me they dont have a store card, etc, and I wish I could describe his demeanor but dont know how. I asked him if he was telling me I was out of luck and he said yes and then walked away. Also they have a 2 by 2 sticky saying 10 cents per bag. Nice way of letting people know right when theyre checking out.

The only thing I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really REALLY really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really REALLY wish that they would do is they have great potential for a very cute store and mabye a cute variety of more customers with the thing I really wanted you guys to do and this is what I really really really *ect* wish they would do: they could make each department of the store be like a little village and in each village mini building or stand ( like a fruit stand in an old timey village ) they would have a little department like a cheese market or stand or a butchers shop thing or like stuff like that and have a fake ( or real ) gravel road like in an English village and they could have like a fake gray sky with cardboard gray clouds hanging from the ceiling and then you could shop in a cute little village and I was thinking that it could be just the half of the store where the produce is and the fresh sea food and the pizza and the deli and the butchers shop are. So I really hope that the owner of big Y sees this and likes. The idea and maybe does it! ( P.S I got the idea while I was at that cheese section next to the produce where the sign said cheese market. ) I also put some example villages down at the bottom 👇

Fair prices on groceries and excellent selection of wine/ craft beer. Always friendly attitudes here. Today shortly after checkout I had 2 separate employees ask if I needed help loading my car because I had my 9 mo baby with me. Impressive.

Good prices- especially on grocery & frozen foods. The price on fresh meat is very good, but sometimes the quality isnt as good as some of their competition. Plenty of close parking for quick in and outs. A plus is Home Goods is in the same strip mall.Another plus is I can usually find a clerk in the aisles to help me find items. Like most supermarkets today, sometimes certain products in grocery arent where Id logically expect them to be.Overall a good food store.

I have known about Big Ys, due to working out in the western part of Massachusetts.GREAT MARKET...give them a try and compare to the markets here on the South Shore....you may just change!!!

The layout of the store could be better, considering the one-way arrows on the floor which slowed down my shopping trip tenfold as I kept having to turn around. (Disclaimer: I know why they are there, and I support any effort in slowing the spread of Covid-19. I do follow the signs and keep my distance, as everyone should. But most of us can recognize the slight inconvienence this brings about in our daily lives, regardless.) The aisles were a bit too narrow for my liking and it made it hard to shop as I kept having to pull to the side to let other shoppers pass by my cart without grazing it. Good frozen foods selection, lots of unique options I dont see in other supermarkets. Liquor store included inside, so you can buy food and drink all in one place. Self scanning is provided and makes the checkout process quicker. Nice store overall, just wish it was easier to shop here.

Frequently out of stock on brand names. Some of the store brands are ok, but would appreciate if they had what my guys like.

This is a very convenient grocery store and its located by a few retail shops and fast food restaurant so if you need to shop on your lunch break this is a great store. Theyve handled Covid-19 extremely well in my opinion, only let down is sometimes you might forget your reusable bags.

This was my first visit and I wasnt impressed. First of all the initial layout was very confusing because it is so crowded from the produce & other department islands. It actually took me a little while to figure out where the grocery isles where. The store seemed very small to me. At the checkout the rude cashier asked me for my store card ( oops I dont have one ), they dont supply a spare card, & they dont issue any there. Wont go again.

Prices are always great, especially when using your Big Y savings card.Very easy to get.The people who work there are always very helpful and pleasant.Today a plastic bag of over 50 coffee cups broke and landed on the floor.One of the ladies who works there ran and got another non-defective one at the back corner of the store.

Big y has lost me as a customer. They have always been over priced which I was willing to deal with for the convenience it’s a couple miles closer than stop and shop but they got rid of they’re pharmacy with no warning what so ever and they got rid of plastic bags now with no warning what so ever. This does not scream customer service....... it is what it is I used to spend atleast 50$ almost everyday at big Y (because I like to cook fresh food for my family everyday and pretty much decide what I’m cooking for dinner everyday at work so I never write a list) but I would much rather spend a couple extra dollars on gas to go to stop and shop (and pay less for my groceries over all) AND get free bags.....like a super market should give.....

There are so many things wrong with this place where do I begin? We had come back from vacation and needed a quick place to go grocery shopping because we couldnt make it to maket basket, which is our usual place. I found it way overpriced, (on par with stop and shop) would have been better going to Shaws. Then to get the sale prices you have to sign up for the silver card, and thats fine took me a minute to do that, even though I thought we were all do e with these cards but whatever. Then to get the real sale prices you also have to get the app and clip virtual coupons. This is why I drive a half hour every week and shop at market basket.

Love it !!! Clean!! BEST MEATS, FISH and FRUITS and Vegetables ANYWHERE in New England. Employees are all SMILES. Reminds me of the FAMILY OWNED and Operated Grocery stores of my youth. Dont know what Management is doing but whatever it is, KEEP IT UP.

I shop at Big Y every week early Sunday morning, there is hardly anyone else shopping! I like them much better than Hannafords! Great selections, prices and a helpful staff! They stopped the gold coin with a certain amount unless you win one! I really like the butcher shop!!

Im a Big Y fan. We just moved to the area and I have visited the store twice. The selection and atmosphere are wonderful. I went for the chocolate moose mini cakes that come in twice a week. They are excellent and worth the trip. I would highly recommend this store.

Awful customer service from cashier!! Older gentleman, tall, white hair was very disrespectful. Talked back to us multiple times with an attitude. If a customer asks for the key pad to be wiped down it should be happening. With everything going on they should be cleaning. Lost my service.

Stopped in to Big Y in search of USA wild Caught shrimp! (So happy to find they had some) Everyone was so friendly and the gentleman collecting carts was so sweet, helping me load my groceries!

Unless you go there early in the day the lines are usually long. The main aisles are filled with displays so instead of being able to flow freely down the aisles you get stuck if people decide to stop next to one of the displays. Plus the prices pretty much line up with every other store now so theyre no bargain

Very clean typical supermarket. Only two sides because first none of the employees ever look happy. And I ordered steak tips from The Butcher Shop. They will put in a cardboard french fry container and wrapped up in butcher paper. When I asked the clerk helping me if they no longer used the plastic containers for such things I got this look like I was from Mars. Needless to say the sauce on the steak tips leaked through the butcher paper and all over the place because when you handed it to me he couldnt tell me which side was up after he wrapped it.

I was able to find most things I needed here. Good selection of produce.

Great staff— but— Since the Big Y takeover, prices have increased and quality has dropped. The aisles have tables of non grocery items blocking the way. Soon the Tuesday senior discount will be stopped. The in - store renovations in the deli, sushi, veggie, fruit area is nice but the “ in store bakery” obviously don’t know how to bake- most time the products are defrosted frozen items.

I was frequenting the Quincy store and it closed because of the lease ending. So today I checked out Norwell and Kingston stores. I was looking for a cookie my mum loves to snack on. The bakery area at both didnt have them. If Im going to drive the extra distance I need for the product to be there. Now Im not sure if only Quincy carried the cookies. They were a raspberry small tart like cookie.6 to 8 in a package, in the bakery section.I found the Kingston store more like Quincy. The Norwell store was beautiful. But its the product Im looking for.Should of check if the baker from Brockton Marciano was in.Jumped started his car a few sundays ago. He know if they have the cookies.

Profuce quality better than average. Sale items good value. Regular price goods perhaps 10% more than local Stop and Shop. Gold coin promotion very restricted. New in-house pizza ... very good and great value.

I got the impression that they really didnt want my business. I havent been to Big Y since they closed the one near me. I forgot my card and they wouldnt look it up with my phone number like they did in Quincy. Plus, you have to carry all of your groceries out in your hands because they succumbed to the Al-Gore-Qaeda types pushing the Marxist agenda dressed as a green movement and want you to pay for bags.

Their prices have inched up. I somewhat expected that to happen. But the reason Im giving in 3 stars is because they dont always stock that well. No iceberg lettuce?! I can see if there was a sale. But even then they should have had enough. Then the seafood department is cleaning over a hour before closing? Once a avid shopper there I find myself going to another competitor. Disappointed on how the store has changed in the last couple months

All considering I always thought it would be very expensive to go to Big Y but the traces were great and the prices were awesome keep up the good work you almost catching up to the other one MB thats the only way youll succeed pricing but all in all it was a good experience and service was excellent.

Disappointing. Went shopping for items and to buy some items that they advertise with their digital specials, and 1 day offer. You spend your time to download them and they dont have them when u get there, and they don t honor it so why bother. They seem to have limited shelf space for what they promote. So, dont wast your time with them. Just a scam to get u in.

Its bad enough that they took over Hannafords and raise the prices on everything. They are now charging $0.10. For a paper bag. I will never shop there again.

This is a store at Queen Anns Corner. I can say one thing it was a store, I used to frequent on daily basis . I spend a lot of money on food, guess just like everyone else. I would also buy other things I need. I brought a air conditioner that didnt work. The manager Mario have me a hard time, he insisted he could only give me store credit since I used a debit card, told me it was impossible to return my money to card. I told him that was not the right thing to do and he should give me back my cash. It was 100 dollars, I spend thousands in this store. I would definitely say bad experience all around Mario used to seem friendly and like a likable guy . But I told him he would lose my business and thats why Im at Stop & shop right now. Too bad Big Y how many chances u need lost my business!
