Have rented here many times. Had a great experience yesterday and today. The lady (Lala) at the front counter is an asset to your company. Definite multi-tasker....helping 3 of us at the same time at 8am on a Friday. Plus she hooked up the trailer to my suburban. Good people are hard to find. Keep her around.
Made a reservation online to pick up afterhours. The website made it very convenient. Found the van, followed the instructions to retrieve the key from the lock box only to find they never left the key. So here I am, having paid for the van, completely unable to move my time sensitive stuff. Pathetic.
Deal on your own risk!!I cant believe they made this basic installation mistake!!!! Checkout pictures. They installed hitch in opposite direction which cost the car thousands of dollar to fix. Also broke some of car parts.Do not trust their professionals. They dont have right people.Management is even worst than this. They did not refund a single penny and they dont answering email or call..
Normally when I go to uhaul, I have an ok to bad experience. When we went here to rent our trailer, both when dropping off and picking up, EVERYONE working was extremely friendly (and peppy), which made for a... dare I say... extremely enjoyable visit! We will definitely be coming back! Thanks Uhaul Norwood!
We rented a truck for 3 hours but when we got there they at first couldn’t find the truck we rented, then found it but couldn’t find the keys.So they changed the reservation to a different truck but charged us $40 extra for a different pricing scheme. Finally, the employees often take off their masks even indoors and seem to have no concerns about Covid.
This is the most incompetently run business I have ever come across. Over the course of 3 months and 3 separate scheduled visits, they were not able to complete a tow hitch installation. Each time they gave me a different story about why they couldnt do the wiring. They never got back to me, after promising to do so a half dozen times. I contacted corporate and they said they would follow through but never did. This location also fouled up a van rental. Find another business or location.
Unprofessional and incredibly rude. Would give zero stars if I could.I had an appointment for 1pm for a hitch installation but was called at 10:30 am asking if I could come in early. I showed up at 11:50 am and was told youre next. I waited outside in the shade since inside there were no chairs and Covid distancing. At 1:15 I came back inside only to notice my car had never moved. I was told they were backed up, but youre next. Why invite me in early if youre just going to waste my time? Finally at 1:30 they started working on my car. While backing it in, however, they hit the taillight on a yellow pole. Luckily another customer told me they saw this happen as the worker never said anything as he handed back my key. Sure enough the taillight was broken and worker admitted fault, but the manager became incredibly rude when I requested to file a report with U-Haul to pay for damages. He ignored me and flat out refused to speak with me while make the report. When I asked to see the report and proof that he had accurately written down all damages, he said it was already submitted with a photo and that he couldnt show me anything. He was rude and annoyed that I had the audacity to ask for a phone number for the incident team. Finally, about the actual hitch installation: luckily I had watched a video about how to install the thing since after the car was returned to me, I crawled under with a flashlight and noticed they had forgotten to reinstall a piece!Overall, terrible experience and I would not recommend this place at all! I chose this place since it was $60 to install the hitch versus $200 at a private shop, but you certainly get bottom of the barrel service.
They were completely understaffed. Feel badly because the people who work here are smart and hard working but management clearly is not taking care of this location. They were missing parts for the hitch installation I had ordered online. What should have been a half hour was two and a half, and I left to get my own wiring harness and relay wiring. Will NEVER trust this location again. Management is out to lunch
When I returned the van, the clerk asked me where I parked it and said I was good to go. Two days later, I get a voicemail from UHaul asking where the van is, then an email stating I had the van two extra days. No way to contact the store directly and long wait times on the phone to get this sorted. Do not use this location.
Whoever is reading this please do yourself a favor and never go to this location, you will be very disappointed with the service they provide. Anyways, the manager was very rude from the start after I asked him which hitch I needed for my vehicle. He was ignoring my questions, yelled at me for trying to gain knowledge on the hitch, then rushed me to pay for the wrong hitch. I ended up returning all the products the next day and getting a full refund. Very shocked on my overall experience at this location. Never do business here.
Understaffed I stood in line fir 30 min because only one person working and truck was not sanitized when I got in it you could smell a musty dirty smell and the cup holders were dirty and steering wheel was sticky! I disinfected it myself! They charged me for bringing back a dirty truck when I know there was nothing in the truck. They charged me fir dropping it off after hours but never told me there was a fee to drop off after hours but I was on time with drop off. charged me fir a surcharge that I dint even know about!
I ordered a trailer hitch install through Uhaul’s website, prepaid, and was provided an install date and time. Today I drove 45 min in for my 7 AM install only to be told the part is delayed a month due to COVID. I understand delays in parts but you couldn’t call, text or email me? No apology offered at the desk. No ownership of the problem, only excuses. I’ll take my business elsewhere from now on.
I had a reservation for 3:30, I made the reservation on-line. I waited 4+ hours for a hitch to be installed. I had even called ahead to get an estimate of wait time (it was a central phone location, not Norwood), they told me 1&1/2 hrs-3hrs at the most. When I arrived, there was one employee that was assisting a customer. The employee had a seemingly difficult time with this. Maybe he was new, luckily a second employee showed up to help the him. Basically, there was one employee helping to train the other employee (or, so it seemed) as well as helping all of the customers. I asked how long it might be, they told me that there was a very difficult car and I would be next. I decided to go for a walk. I sat outside for awhile. I came back to find out how it was going at 4:45, just to find out that they hadn’t even started. I finally decided to go inside to The Chateau nextdoor, luckily, they had just opened up to customers the previous day. I stayed there, ordered an app, an entree... and desert awaiting the call to tell me my car was ready. At 6:45, I decided to leave and go back to uhaul to check on my car before they were to close at 7. It was still not done. There were three men complaining about work in the office and one man (in the garage) actually working. The man working was working on my car and offering to help the next customer who had clearly been waiting some time as well. The man who worked on my car was clearly a hard worker. He did a great job installing the hitch. It seems this location does not function as a team. I don’t know the situation, but, I do know that I waited 4 hours for a hitch to be installed. I also know that the customer service in the office is lacking. Please, especially during these times. Work together, help each other, help your customers, and, corporate, if your listening, help your employees.
Jabriel was good. I was able to get in and pick up the truck fast
Everytime I call this location I am put on hold for greater than 20 minutes. The staff at this location are uninterested in helping customers.
STAY AWAY! Do not attempt to go here for any service work. Complete Nightmare
Very rude behavior after a reservation not met... no apologies...find someplace else
I got great service installing a hitch and then help beyond-the-call fixing a wiring harness challenge. Adrian worked late on his own time to make sure I left with everything in working order. The manager (sorry, didnt get his name) was super-helpful as well. I cant say enough good things about the service here.
Made reservation over the phone was told to not worry about follow emails. Came into pick up my truck and was told the reservation was cancelled via email. Dont understand why a phone call could not have been made on the part of uhaul to maybe help me fill my reservation if they were having trouble finding the equipment. There was literally zero effort on the company to full fill their agreement with me prior.
On so many levels do not do business here. When I regain my composure I’ll explain in detail. Terrible all around.
Would give them zero stars if possible, utterly unprofessional service and help from the staff.
LESS THAN ZERO STARS. I will NEVER use U-Haul again. This location provided the absolute worst customer service I’ve received anywhere in my life. This experience happened a year ago (Jan 31, 2018) and I am still beyond furious with how my husband and I were treated by the employees here. I have tried to forget this day as it made what should have been a smooth experience into a stress-ridden nightmare. Their mistakes ended up costing me significantly more money, and my CROSS COUNTRY MOVE plans were destroyed by the incompetence and apathy of these employees. My reservation was made more than a week in advance. My husband picked up the moving truck in the morning and planned to go back for the car trailer when everything was loaded (plans we made very clear through both our reservation and a conversation with an employee.) After loading everything we owned into the truck, including our nervous cat, we returned to U-Haul to pick up our car trailer, only to be told that they did not have the car trailer ready. They did not bother to call me to let me know it would not be there, nor did they tell my husband when he went to pick up the truck that same morning. When I arrived, they casually told me it was not there and made no effort to apologize, take responsibility for their mistake, or find a new trailer. My husband and I were calm at first but quickly became irate with the employees’ total disregard of the fact that we were in the process of moving across the country. The main employee I dealt with I remember only by his first name, Kyzer, as I stated above how I have tried hard to forget about this day. Kyzer, after telling us they didn’t have ready the equipment that was promised, simply stood behind the desk, laughed at our frustration, and made no attempt whatsoever to help us. When we eventually reached his “supervisor,” whose name I was never given, we were met only with more condescension, rudeness, and overall lack of any semblance of helpfulness. The supervisor tried to place blame on us, mocked us, continually interrupted my husband as he spoke, and then said he would give us a $50 refund because they did not have the trailer. This was quite a slap in the face seeing as the company was derailing our entire multi-day move and laughing in our faces about it. *Note: I never received this refund and was charged more than what was agreed upon after the fact (and no, not for the mileage. I paid the mileage. The truck was also returned cleaner than when we picked it up. This was an additional $100 that they simply stole from me.)After more than two hours of arguing and being laughed at by these employees (all the while my poor cat had to sit in her box in the freezing moving truck), Kyzer finally said that there was a trailer at a different location, nearly an hour north of the store we were in. He told us we could go pick up that trailer—direct slap in the face number two. He expected us to add an extra two or more hours of driving through Massachusetts daytime rush traffic in the moving truck BEFORE setting off on our drive to our new home, when we had already been delayed for over two hours by their incompetence and refusal to correct their mistake. Since everything at this location took at least half an hour or more of arguing and getting nowhere, it was some time before Kyzer finally said that he could go pick up the trailer and bring it back to the store for us. We agreed, since this was the first thing anyone had offered for us that was even remotely close to a solution to the problem they had caused us.Kyzer took his time before finally leaving to get our trailer. We waited another two and a half hours. He returned, and we put our car on the trailer and left, still irate. We arrived at U-Haul with our loaded truck to pick up the car trailer at 11 am that morning. We did not leave U-Haul until after 6pm.I advise anyone considering U-Haul to run in the opposite direction. There’s a reason it’s the cheapest option. This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
We had a great experience with them recently. 15 truck for the day. Most accommodating and friendly.Bob S.Sharon
Called the day before and make a reservation to get a hitch installed in my new car. Arrived at the store 10 mins before my scheduled time and waited 25 minutes to be waited on. I was told on the phone it would take 45 minutes to install the hitch, at the store I was told 1.5-2 hours. I dont like being lied to so I left. Would never go back again!!! They know there busy days are the 1st and 15th to only have 1 person working the counter is not acceptable. When I left there were at least 10 other people in line. Not sure how this place is still in business.
Friendly, helpful people. did my hitch, came out fine. rented a couple of trucks, all worked out well
J. Smith was treated very fairly by the manager in a minor bill dispute, who resolved the issue in a very professional and efficient manner.
Horrible experience- I would give them 0 stars if I could. They booked us for a hitch at 7 AM. When my husband got there he was told the guy that does the hitch wouldnt be in until 9. Now we have the hitch but they knocked off one of the back up sensors on our back bumper and I cant get anyone from the Norwood office to call me back despite multiple calls to them
Great service and friendly staff. Manager Kyzer is very helpful and always available when needed
Horrible experience. I made a reservation months in advance and confirmed it regularly but when I went to pick up the truck they did not have one for me. At first they said it was re-routed which would have added another 30 minutes to my travel window which would make me late to meet up with the movers. So that was quite upsetting because I was on the clock and so were the movers. I was afraid they would leave before we got there and I would have no way of transporting a bed and the rest of the apartment. We had to be out that day because the lease was up. So I asked them to call ahead to be sure the truck was at the new location which they obliged but they found out it was not, so I was left high and dry. I became quite distraught because I was in a time crunch. I kept asking for help and requested a list of local UHauls I could call myself but they ignored me. I found the personnel not to be empathetic or particularly helpful. This is a watered down version. Again a horrible experience never again. I would have chosen no stars if I could.
Went to Norwood Uhaul to just fill my propane tank the guy seemed like he didn’t want to be there or doing his job. So I left the tank out and went to my car to wait while he refilled it. After I handed him a $20 in cash he said I’d much rather you use card. Then after all said and done he didn’t even put the filled propane tank in my car. Very awful “customer service.” I will be hoing elsewhere to refill my propane.
Pricey packaging supplies, but it is convenient to have it all accessible in one place.
Just too big,, bad service awful customer service from abington.the girl didnt know anything about trailers and lights.also in Marshfield I was charged for 2 trucks when I only rented 1 truck. becareful not very nice ..very wrong..also said I could only use truck for 6 hours. not all day. whois running this scam
I called local and no one to answer question and no prompt that allows me to get the answer to what I am asking...
I was looking for shipping cartons of a size I could not find elsewhere. They had them here and at a reasonable price.
Went here to get a trailer hitch. Dropped my car off at 9am, was told it would be ready in an hour. Had to be picked up because it was taking so long and its been 6 hours already and its still not ready. DO NOT GO HERE. They also could not find my vehicle name or number in there system when i called several times to see if it was ready. The people on the phone were rude and not helpful. I REPEAT: DO NOT GO HERE.
Weekend staff is clueless. Screwed up my contract and cost me $$.
Super friendly and easy to use them for truck rental!!!
It was literally all right.
I have been in this U-Haul about 3 time and every time i have to wait a little bit
Super helpful staff.
Dont ever go to this location. Service is HORRIBLE. Plus they make up fees.
Got on and out in about 15 min.
There was a wait but the worker cleaned out my cargo van. After returning it I was charged for damage fee and they said I stole a spare tire. So Im disputing it now and just waiting for the call back for these charges to be off of my file. I only use the car for a shopping and I use less mileage than I paid for in the beginning and I also paid for all the ins insurance fees that they fee you for.
