Very nice store. Prices are truly reduced here. Especially for new books. Bought quite a few there since they all were at least a a couple bucks more online.

It was a nice homey store. If you love the scent of books, it welcomes you on the way in. Though smaller than stores like Barnes and Noble, they have a nice selection of books and can order books if they dont have them in stock. Theres also little shelves outside and in the front entrance of the shop with discount books. The downside to this shop is that some books appear to have slightly higher prices than what I would expect. Some are also slightly lower so it just depends on what book you grab. Nice spot to visit.

The book table is the best bookstore in the near west suburbs. I love that they expanded their space and have an extensive art book selection. Support your local bookstore!

This is a nice store with a nice selection. It has very liberal leanings so just beware.The bathrooms though- horrid and disgusting. I dont know what goes on in there but I walked in and walked straight out. Shudder.

A good independent bookstore is such a wonderful asset to a community. The Book Table is more than good, though. Its like no other independent bookstore Ive ever had the pleasure of visiting. A huge selection in a large, bright, inviting store, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Its the kind of place you can get lost in and then spend a bunch of money!And in case you have become hooked on Amazons discounted book prices youll find the prices here are very similar. Ive never seen a book here at the publisher price.

This place is way bigger on the inside than it looks like from the outside. The staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. The selection is really good. The area with the older books was lots of fun to explore; it’s easy to “lose” yourself for a long time looking at everything.

My friends and I went on a spontaneous little trip to Chicago for a long weekend and our airbnb was in Oak Park. On the day of our flight we decided to walk around our place and we found this cute bookshop I even bought a signed copy of Seth Rogens book here! Everyone should see this place!

All of the things a local bookstore should be. Chill vibe. New releases, old classics, foreign magazines. Their staff is always friendly, well-read, & helpful, never overbearing. No need to take yourself to Bucktown, Lincoln Park, or any other fly Chicago neighborhood. Shop local!

I love independent book stores. This has all the attributes. Its quirky, had a wonderful selection, and the employees read a ton and make good recommendations.

I knew this shop was closing soon and wanted to grab a couple books before they did so. I walked in 15 minutes before closing and the staff was quite pushy and rude, reminding me of the time every few minutes. I decided to find my next read somewhere with friendlier service.

The Book Table is an oak park gem - extensive collections of fiction and non fiction in two huge (but somehow still cozy) rooms. The staff are wonderful, and they make great recommendations! Theyre being very conscientious about covid - 25 people max in the store, masks always, hand sanitizer at the door.

This is a remainder store, not a conventional book store like B&N.They say they are fiercely independent, which is laughable. Store is left-wing. or very liberal. They sell the same books, more or less, of major corporate publishers. as others do. Some independent or private publishers, so, do you care? The 15% discount is not enough for me. If you want to shop local, go ahead but dont feel obliged.I bought good books here. And the overhead music reminds me of Barnes and Noble and corporate big box stores.

Soo many Great Books. My children and I get lost in this world of books each time we go. Definitely go with a focused mind. The opposite is like going to the grocery store when your hungry👀👀 you want to pick up everything!

This independent bookstore is excellent, and, at a time when whole chains are closing, has succeeded not just in keeping its head above water, but actually in growing and expanding with a new rare book and first edition section.I could spend hours in this bookstore. The selection is excellent, the staff is knowledgeable and personable, the only thing this place is missing is seats to spend a whole lazy day in, reading (I guess for a reason, I would not be the only one tempted to spend my whole day in there).Please visit and buy books, magazines, kids books, and gifts in this bookstore! Its great to have a high quality bookstore in downtown Oak Park. This bookstore has a wide selection of books. If they do not have the book they will order it and call when it arrives. All of their books are sold at a discounted price. Staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. Parking can be slightly challenging. There is a large parking garage within a block of the bookstore.

My wife and I love this place, there is so much to explore, from multiple rooms of seemingly every category of book, to the helpful staff recommendations and highlights. They have a great childrens book section as well. If you dont find what you need they can order it for you, and the prices are reasonable.

Great bookstore. Love the selection and variety. Ive been transitioning back to physical books after a few years on the kindle. The only negative would be some of the staff. Ive been here several times and very few actually greet you coming in or ask if you need assistance. Sometimes I like to explore, but common courtesy should be a priority for businesses.

Nowhere has a better selection of books OR gifts, but what makes the Book Table stand out are those fabulous handwritten review cards on the displays recommending a books. If Im. Not coming in for something specific, they really DO help cut through the clutter. Whoever plans these does a much better job curating genres and putting like things together than most, which meant I left with two books and three more on my should read list!

My wife and I were looking for books for our nephews, 20 and 17 years old. With the little bit of information we gave her, the employee we talked with came up with some great recommendations for books we think they will really enjoy. Everyone who works here is well informed and passionate about the books they sell. We try to support this amazing independent bookstore whenever we can.

Hands down my favorite bookstore. I appreciate that the staff actually reads and have valid opinions. The pricing is great and I think that it competes with online book sales, its really nice to get the book you wanted at Amazon prime pricing but you get the experience of going to the bookstore and having the book right away. The atmosphere of this place is amazing, I often lose track of time browsing here. They will also order a title for you if they happen to not carry it in store at the time; while still offering it to you with at least 20 percent off. Best shop in oak park.

This shop is everything a book store should be, it has a large variety, cool layout and a really cool kid section. A few weeks back I could not find a translation of a Russian novel online anywhere. They found it in a few minutes in English, ordered it for me and bam we were ready to read.

Brick and mortar shops are dying. I hope this excellent shop survives. Excellent selection and superior service. A great place to browse.

I always enjoy visiting The Book Table because of the numerous staff reviews highlighting and describing books from every genre. Book Table prices are competitive with online retailers, and they make it easy to order anything they dont have in stock. Of course, the best part is getting lost amidst the shelves and seeing what staff favorite will be my next great read.

The Book Table has an excellent central location across from the Lake Theater and also nearby other great Oak Park businesses. Every time I come here I am always impressed by the selection of books that are available. Definitely my kind of books--way better than just New York Times bestsellers!This Christmas I got several presents from family from Book Table and I couldnt be happier. I look forward to coming here many times in the future!

I really shouldnt be the one rating this place as I seldom shop in a bookstore - usually shop on-line. But happened to pass this place and a few kids items in window caught my eye. They seem to have a great selection of books and other gift items. If there is anything you cant find, staff is very helpful.
