Many thanks to Mike and the good folks at Carnivore for another beautiful rib primal, this one to be dry-aged for 70 days (hopefully)! Theres no other team in Chicago-land that Id trust as much as Carnivore to bring such top-notch beef.Thanks guys, stay safe and healthy. Me and this rib will see you in a few weeks.

I am so fortunate to live so close to one of the best butcher shops in the Chicago area. Not only are they knowledgeable and helpful and not only is the meat locally sourced but their meat is PHENOMENAL. Whenever I have a special occasion and want to be sure the meat is really good, I make sure I buy it at Carnivore. Yes, you pay more, but you absolutely get what you pay for. Worth every penny.

Its a great store. I can find specialty items there that I cant get at larger stores. And the community panty is wonderful.

Good food, good meat, good god -get in here!The product is beyond reproach and the people make it all work.Need a classic? The rib-eye, the strip, the porterhouse are there in first class examples -if you get there in time.Want to experiment? Ask for a recommendation and come home with some tri-tip, a flat-iron or some bavette.Do not forget the fish - the Skuna Bay salmon is fantastic.

Great service! Roast beef sandwich is delish! Fried chicken sandwich is good too. The seasoned fries are the BEST! They also have a nice selection of meats, sausages and seafood, some unique grocery items, local produce and flowers. Also picked up giant crab cakes, lettuce, lemon aioli & pate. When it’s nice out, grab a sandwich and eat at the park across the street. Food is high quality and a great price (sandwich + fries for $12)! I’m sad we did not try this place sooner. It’s definitely worth the visit.

Great Epicurean delights. The sandwiches to go are awesome! The guys behind the counter are friendly fun and very personable. I recommend the roast beef sandwich with swiss. The local fresh meats, seafood, dairy products, and other fine dry goods are exceptional. An Oak Park treasure.

One of the best pulled port sandwiches I’ve eaten. It was a large size, piping hot, and super moist. The bun was fantastic and held everything together from first bite to last.And the fries!!! The fries are seasoned so well. Absolutely coming back, often!

Hands down the best fish sandwich I have ever had. HUGE portions of perfectly grilled Atlantic salmon on the softest roll.

Never trust a butcher with 5 freezers. I wouldnt waste my time getting meat from there because its too inconsistent, but their sausages are pretty good.What you should be getting it their burger! Its fantastic, even if the french fries are frozen. Why cant anyone make fresh fries?

Phenomenal!! The food was Amazingly delicious, they offer both grilled & steamed seafood. The Service was great & the place was flawless. I highly recommend if your in the area. I will most definitely be back!!

Amazing local butcher shop with a huge variety of meats and accoutrements like cheese, limited vegetable selection, dark matter coffee and local eggs and dairy. The folks working here are so knowledgeable and down to earth, and they LOVE food, its really enjoyable talking with them about what were planning for dinner.

By far the best place to go in the Midwest for meats, fish, cold cuts, and even produce. Their selection is always on point and their frozen section will shock you with the amount of variety.100% recommend this place over any other grocery store. You won’t leave disappointed.

Delicious bacon burger!

The food here was fantastic. I had the fish sandwich and my brother had the burger. Both came with fries that had a barbecue, smokey seasoning. They were delicious and extremely generous portions. I think the price was an absolute steal, especially with the quality of the beef and salmon. We’ll eat here again and again.

Crazy beefy burger!! This place has shot up to my top 5 burger places in Chicago! Perhaps it’s the unique blend of bacon with beef, but cannot think of any other burger that comes this close to having the extra beefy flavor this one has. There is so much to savor in each morsel.

So glad I finally made it in here,what a treat! Excellent prime cuts of all kinds of chops and select seafood. The butchers are all very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. Still have to try their famous burger so we’ll be coming back.

You can order unique items. Theyre fun to talk with and really know their trade. I pop in and always find something interesting and delicious, most recently the burgers ground with bacon.

If you eat meat or seafood you should be shopping here, its truly the highest quality.

We come from Fenton Michigan and always stop in for house made sausage when we are in town. FANTASTIC!

Stumbled into and ordered brats with beef and giardiniera in them (I think). We cooked them tonight per instructions. They were fabulous. We will be back!!

The guys here are really friendly and know what their are taking about. Ive purchased the baby back ribs which came out perfectly. My most recent visit I can in with not idea what to buy and I just told them I wanted to smoke something they recommend the pork shoulder. I ended up buying 4 lbs of it and it came out great. The meat tasted so fresh and juicy. If youre looking for high quality meats definitely give these guys a shot. Oh and also little sausages they have.

The appearance of the place is great. Some really tasty looking steak cuts, sausages and some nice fresh seafood too. We were surprised to find that they also carry some bread and fresh veggies, milk and eggs. We were wandering by and dropped in to window shop, so I cant yet vouch for the quality or price, but what we saw definitely made us eager to come back for a shopping trip.

Amazing service. Great place to get meat without plastic packaging. They were very kind and didnt look at me crazy for asking the meat with just butcher paper. He said I can also bring in my own container next time. A+!

Great range of meats, seafood, and fresh produce from a fun bunch of dudes. They have you covered for small meals to big events. Condiments, wood chips for your smoker, breads, cheeses. All available. The housemade sandwiches are cooked to order and are generously sized. Great local place.

Good selection of high quality local (when possible) meats and fish. Great food, great attitudes. Very knowledgeable about their products. Easily come back again when in the area.

I have never written a review online for a place before so believe me when I say these guys deserve it. Fantastic quality, super helpful staff, charming shop, and theyre just fun to talk to to boot! If you are looking for something special for dinner, I cannot recommend a better place.

Outstanding butcher shop, amazing quality, really good vibe. I picked up some pork chops that were so beautifully marbled they were the piggy equivalent of wagyu. Took them home and reverse seared them, hands down best chops Ive ever had. Also bought some phenomenal tbones and at suggestion of one of the guys there grabbed a couple of the CBD smoked sausages.....outstanding. The guys who work there are really friendly and super knowledgeable. Love this place and will be returning often.

Carnivore is one of the nicest places inside the city or outside to get truly great quality meat and all the fixins. Any home cook must visit here to get inspiration, talk to the food-loving butchers and cooks, and pick up some exciting stuff that Jewel and Whole Foods would never, ever carry.

My favorite local grocery store. They have great produce.

Never knew this place was here until a search for guanciale made me stumble upon it. Sure enough they had it, and so much more. All the meat looked amazing, I had to leave before I bought too much. The staff was very knowledgable and said they get whole animals weekly and break them down on site. When I said I needed the guanciale to make carbonara, the guy even gave me tips on making the dish! I will definitely be returning here whenever I need quality meats and seafood.
