Great store lots of product! Top notch in all areas.Only downsides are sometimes I feel singles card price is on the high end and I wish they had an online store. I look for singles all the time but the only way to get them there is to ask and they look or send them an email list which they will respond in a undetermined amount of time. I live over an hour away and want to know the shop has everything and the price is fair before driving over.

What a wonderful gem!Some of my friends and I were visiting from out of town and these folks were so very warm and hospitable to us. They have an extensive selection of products, with prices comparable to most other LGSs.If for no other reason, you should stop by to see this little princess (in attached photo). We will be visiting again we w go back to the cities!

My experience there two times in a row sucked. The staff is not helpful nor do they even look at you to acknowledge your existance. I asked about a product and what it was so the staff member tells me no it was not. By the 35 dollar price tag I could clearly see myself it was the jumbo packs but hay if this shop wants to pick and choose who they help I will never go back ever again. Negative 5 stars in my opinion.

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly players, and fun staff. What more could you ask for? Well let me tell you you could ask for, great selection of singles, a buy any card policy, FNM and usually a draft on Saturday is a pretty big ask, and youll get it here! Not to mention a vibrant casual play community, seriously, swing in for an event, you wont regret it.

Just want to shout out the entire staff, but especially Dylan at this store. I just started coming to A Rising Star, and am probably annoying always asking what new bling they have in to buy.Wednesday I went to another card shop (wont mention name, in case it was an honest mistake) to pick up a few cards before going to A Rising Star. While I was there, they had what appeared to be a great condition older card for a good $30-40 off online prices. I bought it even though I didnt need it knowing I would later trade it in since it was such a good deal. I even made a remark to the cashier it looked to good to be true, but they sold it to me and I went about my day.When I went in to A Rising Star and they had a card I wanted I tried to trade said card in, and Dylan told me it was a fake. But instead of making me feel ashamed, he walked me through how he came to that determination, convinced me not to do the tear test, and to go back to the store and see if I could work with them. Luckily I got that card just a few days earlier so the cashier remembered me and they couldnt even get the card to scan in. After sending some pictures and looking it over they agreed, and issued me a refund.Top class at A Rising Star for taking what was an embarrassing moment for me but not making me feel that way and teaching me what to look out for and best next steps. Highly recommend and will only be coming here from now on.

Very rude staff, too high of prices, to the point of rip off. I was told to f myself by the manager when I refused to put a ritualistic shame muzzle on my face. These people are cowards and wont let you in the door if you dont take their medical advice. Even to their standards they put people at risk when I came in 5 times before that without one on very disappointed

I went in on Wednesday the 11th and needed help with a card I just pulled. While I dont know his name, he was in the magic cards area, he came over and helped me protect my /10 card I just pulled. Very helpful, he was caring for it like it was his card which I really appreciated

Great store with great people. NOT a neck beard spawn point. Uncle Jeff generates big brain energy at all times. Talk to him if you have any questions, like any questions at all....One thing, the store is kinda lacking in the decor department. Maybe spruce things up a wee bit and make it a cozy card shop. White walls, with white tables, with white chairs, with white shelves, with glass cases is not very appealing to the human eye. But this place 100% deserves 5 stars. No Cap

The pictures do not do this stores inventory any justice. I was looking for a store that carried Magic The Gathering in my Girlfriends area and passed over this one because I didnt see much MTG in the pictures. Turns out this store has more cards than any store Ive been to. Also the staff is knowledgeable enough to help you sift through them all.

Was in town for a wedding. Very clean and friendly staff, just over priced. I came to buy something and left with nothing. Cheapest Pokémon booster pack was I think $8 and no prices on their Pokémon singles.

Great environment to go play games. Staff is helpful and the owner is awesome.

Service is quite poor. They do not let you look through card boxes on your own, and they are never quick helping you get a new one. Prices are mostly awful, and do not think you are going to get a good deal if the owner is there. Little upside for Sports cards collectors.

5 stars. I called yesterday to ask about my Pokemon card collection, and Dillon promptly set up a time for us to meet. When I asked about safety guidelines I was politely informed to wear a mask and adhere to the 6 foot rule; no problem. As I arrived today, the store was remarkably clean, spaces were marked off and clearly labeled, and there was a table set up for us to work. I was greeted as I entered the door and from start to finish was met with outstanding customer service. Dillon really knows his stuff, and was happy to share his unbiased expertise with me and concisely answered all of my questions. I am happy to say that I have found my new LGS!

I brought my niece in here last weekend and the guy helping us gave fantastic customer service. They asked her what cards she likes, helped her find what types of pokemon she was interested in and even gave her a little welcoming packet with a free pokemon card included.Above and beyond customer service is what that was.Signed up for their membership benefits the next day and plan on coming back often!

Sports cards are pretty much being moved out for Pokémon and magic. Top loaders $2 a pack higher than anywhere else. Blaster of hoops is $90. What a joke.

Absolutely horrendous pricing, was asking $55 for a 2021 Panini Draft Picks blaster box when the going rate is $30-$40 ( $20 MSRP ), How a “card shop” can charge over 50% an already scalped price and stay in business is beyond me.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I purchase all of my card supplies here. They have a great inventory of singles as well as sealed products. They can also help you get your cards graded which I absolutely love and has been the defining feature for me. I will never go anywhere else.

First and last time at this place. When you have a first time customer coming in, don’t be rude. Was given one word answers for pretty much everything, guy didn’t really want to help with the Pokémon stuff. He just kept talking to his co workers. Saw another guy walked in asking about the hatterene boxes and employee was just straight up rude explaining the prices. Would not go here again. Bring your business elsewhere to other local game shop that cares.

Recently moved to the neighborhood and was happy to see a lgs, thought Id stop in and buy a couple MTG booster boxes, well first off took fifteen minutes for anyone to even acknowledge my existance. After wandering around the store with dusty unorganized product strewn about on tables someone finally did, it was a grunted hi. Kinda rude, but lets press on. Asked about booster box selection and what he might recommend, no answer except pointing to the wall. Okay, maybe not a talkative sort. Asked what the Core set 2021 box goes for, $115! Gaming goat, and pretty much every online store has them for under $100. I stated that was a bit high, and the person said he gets so much traffic he hikes the price. Bummer, promptly left and went to Gaming goat. Bought two booster boxes at less than $100 a piece. What a shame, this is literally five minutes from my house and I buy multiple booster boxes a month. (Edit) No, I was not greeted right away. I was not even acknowledged when I walked in, the six or seven minutes I kinda just stood there looking awkwardly at your employee, the five minutes I was staring at you after I moved closer to try and get some attention from someone. It was a good bit longer than you are aware of apparently. Yes, there was dust on the product I saw and it was disorganized. Yes, I did mention that I was looking for boxes around $100 after you pointed to the wall. I did say it was too bad, because it is. Your product is more expensive than a good 90% of what Ive found. Thats immaterial. I would have been willing to pay that and support a local shop, however the attitude in which I was greeted after basically needing to hail you was what the biggest problem was. I have worked retail my entire life, and consulted for companies specifically on customer service. You never let a guest just stand there, especially if you have more than one employee on staff. A simple, Hello, Ill be right with you is sufficient. That aside, you offered no help when I asked what you suggested as far as editions go. You seemed extremely defensive when I brought up that the price was out of line compared to others as though this is a usual thing for you to hear. My guess is you have that conversation frequently. The tact with which you talked to me was blantantly designed to discourage me asking for a discount which I didnt and wasnt wanting. Higher prices can be fine, if justified. Simply saying you raise prices because you can comes off as arrogant and greedy. May I suggest taking a different approach? Youre a small shop, kinda tucked away and maybe you have higher operating costs? Put a positive spin on it instead of being defensive. Even if you have to fake it, it wasnt price, or the disorganized Discount product on the table but the attitude that made me take my business elsewhere. It seems a common theme in these reviews. Instead of being defensive, maybe take these to heart and use them for what they should be used for. As a guide to better your business. Its sad when from all accounts it was my sheer bad luck to deal with you and not an employee. Unfortunately the employee I first walked up to didnt even acknowledge my existance. As far as variety, about on par with any where else Ive been as far as MTG products go honestly. Its not the product selection, price, or even how product is displayed you are truly selling. Its the experience. Mine wasnt good. Your reply isnt truthful and you should be more focused on my perceived experience than to simply try to save face.

Went out yesterday after about 2 years and the place has changed for the better! The shop is huge, the selection is varied, and they really make you feel valued. Giom (I hope Im spelling that right) one of the managers stayed late and talked my ear off while giving me a great deal on the cards I was buying. Very respectful place of business and will definitely be spending a lot of time here.

Went there for the first time for some yugioh/pokemon. There selection wasnt bad plus they have packs that are sold out everywhere. I bought various packs including some battles of legend armageddon which are hard to come by for my pull party for my bachelor party. I bought 5 packs of battles of legend and pulled a number 39 uptopia starlight rare the second best card in the set. Id just like to thank a rising star for that experience as many of us buy cards and love the feeling of buying packs and pulling the card your after no matter what age you are.

Went in on Wednesday to have over 300 pokemons cards appraised. Met with I believe his name was Dillon, he instantly started snapping pictures with his phone, many of the cards that were in the albums. His comment to me was You have alot of nice cards and told me because there were so many cards I would have to leave them and give him 2 days to get it done. He never offered the option of an appointment to come back. Of course he reassured me they were in great hands and they would be taken care of. With much hesitation I did it anyway. After getting home I looked better at the shabby receipt he wrote. Never signed it, and very vague description of what was left. So Friday comes along and I had to call him, he explained still working on it, but found many cards that they are interested in and he would have them done by Saturday at 3:00pm. He said to call him then. When I called on Saturday at 3:55pm, the man said that Dillon was off that day. When I asked about my Pokemon cards he said and I Quote well theres a pile of of them just sitting on the counter here, with no name or no information, so what did yours look like.? Very upset that Dillon knowingly knew he was off Saturday, when we spoke Friday. And he just left my cards laying around (good hands my (beep)!!!!! The guy on the phone said he would do the rest in 2 hours to call he then. Well I called him 2 hours later and he states Well we can give you $20 cash for them. Mind you there were 81 first edition, 50 shadowless, 4 first edition shadowless, (including pikachu red & yellow cheeks) 25 halo, etc. 95% cards were mint condition and stored in picture albums for the last 9 years, making them mostly PSA-8 & 9s. I believe the lingo goes. I explained that his offer was ridiculous and he became very Rude and hung up on me. So I went down there. When I approached the counter my cards were all over the counter in piles everywhere. They were not being handled with care at all. I explained to him that they were not to be treated in such poor manor and not to be piled together. Basically when I gathered them from everywhere, I found a sticky note attached to one of the albums I brought them in, and it read as follows: dont know who these belong to. Priced them on September 19th. ( Mind you I went in on September 30th, thats what receipt states also) Offer them $10.00. It said. While collecting my cards from piles, I noticed that the condition of alot of the cards was no longer PSA-8 or 9 but they were really worn damaged cards. Whether intentions were there or not, some of my cards were switched with perhaps someone elses pile just laying around, thus the reason for the sticky note on my album and the rude unprofessional clowns they have working in that circus. Either way, I have more then enough proof with my pictures and logs prior to the visit, to verify my statements.

Been here a few times and the staff and owner have always been rude. Prices were inflated for MTG and they were unwilling to negotiate when cards were blatantly overpriced. Owner was snippy when my friend put a single card back, even though he was spending over 200 dollars. I recommend 1 up games in St Paul next to Target, much friendlier staff!

Another lgs where we walked in and the two employees there working barely looked at us, didnt say hi, didnt walk over and talk or ask if we needed anything as we were looking at the merch, and didnt say bye as we left. At least learn the basics of customer service, so many local game stores already have a bad rep.

They have some good stuff and their selection is wide, very spacious. The thing they lack is customer service, everytime I have gon in Ive been ignored, and it always takes a while for someone to notice me and help me. When I ask for help sometimes I do get it. Their customer service need a lot of work.

Rising star has a friendly and knowledgeable staff, their on hand card selection is better than every other store in the area. They have many tables of space for tournament play, or casual gaming, and their space is always clean.

Both the staff and people here are incredibly kind and patient. My son needed somewhere to go to talk Yugioh and we lucked out in stumbling across this place. We first tried it out on a Tuesday but were told about a more casual, relaxed game vibe on Sunday Funday and have been going almost every week since. Highly recommend for beginners and experienced players, especially of Yugioh, Magic and Pokemon.

Fantastic location for trading and playing cards (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic TG, etc) the employees are extremely friendly, helpful and patient. Be sure to show your appreciation and understand that they sometimes get busy and need a little time to help one customer before helping the next one.Very large playing area. Could probably seat about 60.

I play weekly MTG at Rising Star. Staff is great, card selection/prize support is decent. I personally would like to see a couple bigger events either monthly or at least quarterly to help get some more people to experience the store.

All the sentiments of the owner being negative, toxic and lazy mirror my experience. I frequently D Spot and was elated to see a card shop next door. When I walked in I overheard (as I soon learned) the owner talking negative about another employee, very unprofessional. I made my way over to the section I wanted to make a purchase in and stood there, and stood there and stood there. I wasnt greeted nor asked if I need any help. When he came over it became very clear that he knew little about MTG and wanted to get back to the sports side asap which is a shame because the remodel is beautiful. This was just one instance of three that I have seen when he is there. The staff is great, the owner not so much.

They specialize in Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and sports cards. They usually use TCG Player to determine prices so theirs are usually less than other locations.

This place is primarily a Magic the Gathering shop, big well organized singles, but also has a sports memorabilia section. There are also other tcgs like pokemon and dbz. They do sell/buy sports cards. Note: Talk to them ahead of time before bringing in your sports cards. There is only a couple of employees that handle them and they only take rare notable cards. Dont expect to unload your collection from thw 90s on them.

Not only does the staff not welcome in customers. dude sold me 4 of the same singles all at different prices, then had the nerves to sell the most damaged one as the most expensive one, also not willing to negotiate. its the same card from the same set yet priced at all different values. then he had the nerves to threaten me that hell raise the prices after I leave if I decide not to buy

Want Topps series one or High Number baseball cards? Then come here. Or go to Wal-Mart. Thats about all youre going to get here. They have a poor selection for baseball card collectors. But dont let that stop you. They have plenty of other cards because they reserve the good stuff for box breaks leaving retail costumers with scraps. Edit: Unfortunately, your website says you do breaks. Ive been to the store twice over the last year and always lacking in baseball hobby products.
