I just love the staff and all my experiences here. I became a patient because a different company was very nasty about my concerns with dilating my eyes but Christine educated me on why it was necessary and made me feel much more comfortable about the experience. Several years of exams later my experience is still always as great!!
I have had my eye exams @ MyEyeDr for years, Dr Atkins has always been very thorough & honestly answered my questions. The staff are all friendly & helpful. They have a large selection of frames & have helped me find glasses that I love! And I am able to take them in when I need adjustments or new nose pads.
My attitude towards this particular office changed. They are always booked and never have openings for emergencies. I had an appointment scheduled at 3pm and was never seen by the doctor because they apparently dont deal with eye related diseases or conditions. While the other office in triple crown saw me before for sudden blurry vision and eye pressure and did retinal imaging and examinations and found hypertensive retinopathy. What I found shocking is they dont enforce Covid19 Prevention on all patients while other patients are told to wear masks. My mother and I were told right away to wear a mask they provided. But the other woman shopping for glasses was not wearing a mask provided by them . The assistant who was right next to her helping her shop didnt even tell her to wear a mask. I found this odd since the patients in the waiting room who were wearing masks included self and mother were people of color or hispanic ethnicities and the only one without a mask not being enforced was a someone who was not of color or hispanic ethinicty. very disappointing practice.
The My Eye Doctor office in Ocala on 200 across from the paddock mall is a great place to go for glasses and exams. All the employees are super friendly and knowledgeable; answering all the questions that I had. I even referred my mother to go them and she loved them as well!! Would highly recommend
Had a wonderful experience with the Dr and his staff. Very comfortable atmosphere and happy with my script. Will recommend to anyone for their eye care.
The staff is friendly and helpful. I called to make an appt and was unable to get in for a few weeks but asked to be put on the cancel list. I got a call two days later for an appt. next week. They went the extra mile to help. So appreciated.
Always a great experience! Dr. Atkins, Kim and the entire staff are amazing, compassionate and take care of our entire family. We appreciate MyEyeDr!!!
All the staff were so helpful and nice! I love my new glasses and I wont be going anywhere else!
The staff at the location are a special group of highly qualified and caring individuals. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone I know
My appointment went very smoothly. Everyone was very professional and courteous.
Love visiting them-super helpful staff!
Gail was very rude, still waiting for a call from Manager Walter. I spoke with their Corp. office and they told me they’ve had alot of complaints about this office. I guess thats why their revenues are down. Get rid of Gail and maybe new management is needed!!!!Hey Walter a customer service complaint is not covered by hippa, to bad you don’t have the guts to call me, you have my number!!!!!Time to move onto another review site and leave another poor review!!!!
Both of my pairs of glasses had broken one after another and I have very bad eyesight. I cannot see without them. And Ive been going to myeyedr for years. I immediately called and made an appointment and it was over a months wait. It was incredibly difficult to keep my broken glasses even semi-usable with a lot of tape and glue. I had an appointment at 10am. Its a bit of a drive for me to get to the location in Ocala and the traffic got me. I made it to the place and was trying to walk in at 10:09. The doors were locked and I couldnt read the sign through the window that said I had to call the number to be let in and I was given no other notice that this was going to be the procedure. But because of covid and everything going on, I didnt mind at all and when I called the place a lady answered and said that there was a huge pink paper that I should have read in a bit of a tone that suggested I was bothering her. But I figured she might just be having a hard day and didnt worry much about it. Eventually a worker named Christine W came out and told me that because I was so late they would have to reschedule me or that they could squeeze me in at 11:45. I have a difficult time trying to find time off from work and it is very frustrating that my trusted eye doctor cant help me when I cant see to drive, work, or really anything. I can barely see the ground underneath me without my glasses. And now Im going to have to go months without my glasses trying to schedule another appointment here. Id rather pay full price somewhere I know will take care of me than wait months more for a poor customer service place that takes my insurance. Im very disappointed that this place has gone so downhill.
Great staff. Very helpful
Horrible experience. They send a text to confirm the appointment, which I did but when I arrived 15 minutes early the lady stated that because I did not speak with them they gave up my appointment. Why send a text to confirm then? I waited 2 months for my appointment and had to pull my son out of school and miss a test. Waist of time and will never spend a penny in this company. Switched to Sams Optical.
If I could give zero stars, I would. As Someone who has frequently purchased Eyewear from this location and the Gainesville location, I will no longer be supporting this company. My daughter made a mistake and slung her glasses off her face, which landed in a pond, this past Saturday, when a bee flew towards her face. My husband called and set up an appointment and was told to follow the instructions on the outside of the door. When they arrived, a very kind African American lady greeted my husband, daughter and son and continued to assist them. In the midst of her helping my husband and daughter, a heavy-set Caucasian lady (With blond hair and teal) rudely interrupted their conversation, stating my daughter’s name was not on the appointment list and that they should have waited outside, called in and then her glasses would have been brought out to her. This lady did not allow anyone to explain why my daughter and husband were there. She further showed other signs of poor customer service, as if they were bothering her. My daughter starts virtual school this week and my husband took the time off work to ensure we had proper eye glasses for her. Needless to say, although we had insurance, we were unable to use it because the glasses fell in the water. That is no problem. We have purchased 7 sets of glasses and or contacts over the past 3 years and felt like this was our family eye doctor. First, my request is that your office no longer calls to inform me of upcoming appointments, as we are obviously no longer, unfortunately, welcomed. Secondly, please advise your associates of poor customer service, regardless of if they “feel like” providing that service. They are being paid to provide a service. Thirdly, my daughter’s heart was broken, as she witnessed other customers greeted with dignity and respect by the lady that had just treated her so poorly. I am not making this a race issue, I am just stating the facts.
Very unhappy. They need to get a new lab to do their glasses. I wasted my money going here. The tech that orders my glasses messed them up also. The doctors are not nice and are very condescending and arrogant.
Great staff and quick service.
My son and I were seen at this office last week and they were awesome! They were very nice and thorough. They took their time to answer all of our questions and we were treated like individuals, not just another number. I already scheduled an appointment for my daughter for tomorrow and my for my husband next week. I definitely recommend them to everyone!
I’ve been coming here for years and every time it’s a awesome experience. Mark is super fast, cool to talk to and very helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Very friendly/fast service!
Very expensive and unfriendly. Double charged me to boot. Will update after I go back for my second appointment in two weeks. To make a long story short, I am far from satisfied with my experience.Update: for both appointments they were over 30 minutes late and couldn’t even work around my schedule. I had to miss out on 5 hours of work. The first appointment the doctor told me she didn’t know if she had the right prescription because apparently “she’s not able to always get it right on the first try” but still ordered the prescription anyways. They got the prescription wrong on my glasses so it was pointless even getting those. The doctors kept having to go out and ask if they were doing their job correctly which isn’t very comforting to me. I mentioned I only wanted the $70 box of contacts for each eye so that it’d be covered by my insurance but instead they gave me a total without even breaking it down for me so I had to pay $226 total when it shouldn’t have even been that because the only thing my insurance didn’t cover was the $15 copay and the $85 fitting fee. Then when I received the receipt I discovered that they overcharged me and ordered the 24 pack for each eye and couldn’t do anything afterwards. The second appointment when I went back they had to ask me which prescription they ordered because the doctor guessed and wrote down the wrong notes and couldn’t remember what she guessed. Do not go here if you don’t want to waste your time and be overcharged for EVERYTHING. This place is extremely unprofessional and should not even be in business.
Called ahead and let them know that I would be a little late for an appointment, I was told I had a 15 minute window... showed up 20 minutes late and was waiting to check in for the appointment (of course realizing that I was past the 15 minute window, but there was no one in the parking lot or lobby so I was hoping I would get some good grace). When I made it to the desk to check in, the receptionist with darker black hair named Elizabeth said they would not be able to see me Today, even as a walk in and I would be forced to reschedule. I’m not the one to usually write negative reviews but I have been a patient for years and this has been the worse experience I have ever had here. I live over 30 minutes away and experienced traffic on the way to ocala, for someone to not underStand, especially with a completely empty office is ridiculous
I called to get an appointment because my eyes were really hurting me. I didnt think I would be able to get in till after the first of the year. But they got me in the very next day. I saw Dr. Atkins, he is great. All the people that work there are fantastic, very friendly, helpful knowledgeable. The young man that did some tests on me before the doctor came in, wasso great. He was very nice and thorough. My eyes are so much better now. It really eased my mind of what was going on with my eyes.My husband also goes to Lange Eye Care and has always had a positiveexperience.
Nice people but always running behind. Usually at least 45 minutes. Just a heads up for those with busy schedules, its pretty bad.
Im not one to leave negative reviews and I am pretty easy going but my last visit I was very dissatisfied with and my husband and I are not happy at all. I went in for a regular eye exam and to order more contacts. Everything was great until I went to go check out. I had to pay for a contact fitting that was not explained to me until the very end that was over $100. My contact prescription never changed and I was just there in September, not sure why I had to pay a fee again for a fitting if I didnt need it. Then, the clerk gave me a coupon that all I had to do was take a picture of my contacts when they came in and I would receive a $75 debit card in the mail. After filling out the form online as soon as my contacts came in the mail, I found out that the coupon expired about 2 weeks prior to my actual visit. Very unprofessional.
I actually went here by mistake, as my Ins. isnt covered by them. They were so nice. They took my insurance anyway and I just paid the co-pay of $45. On my insurance, I can get a big chunk off of the glasses I need, but after reading the reviews of the 2 places accepting my Florida Blue Ins. I have decided to go ahead and pay for glasses here. I was given a great exam by Dr. Benjamin Konynenbelt who explained everything to me as we did all the tests. Such a nice person! And... the staff there was so accommodating, so nice! Mark explained about the insurance and was so patient. Yes! I am going back there to get my glasses.
The worst store ever
I do not give the rating -10 stars because it does not give me the option but since this place changed its name I do not know if the owner is also horrible the service and there is no one to complain to because the manager Britney at this place is the most rude and Lack of professionalism, ordinary and very unpleasant, she is the first despicable person in that place, so I do not recommend any patient to come to this place.Change the manager please 🙏 she is not prepared to work with customers, for 10 years i go to this place with my 3 son each year but today i decided not come back because the customers services is very Bad and inaceptable and the store manager is the first person no recomended to talk.
Wonderful company !!! I lost my eye glasses and, I no longer live in ocala so the office is about 3 hours away ! I called them and they sent me my prescription, but no one in my area would be able to replace my glasses without a large fee! So I called them back to see what options where out there needless to say! I have my glasses and I can see clearly now ! Thanks Andrea & Mark 😘
They fit me into their schedule last minute. They worked with me for a long time to pick out glass (Im extremely picky) . They just went above and beyond! Great place!!
Wonderful service, very professional and friendly staff every time I visit.
I have been coming to this location for years. I got a really bad eye infection and went to the ER because the office was closed, they said follow up with my eye doctor. I called to make an emergency appointment since the infection never got better. The lady on the phone said “ sorry we’re booked up for several weeks maybe you should go back to the ER.”What’s the sense of having a doctor and investing my money in this company for years? When I needed them most they could care less of the health of my eyes!
This was the most disorganized and unprofessional place I have ever attended. First time as a new patient, I waited over an hour before I made the decision to reschedule. Huge mistake giving them a second chance. It was worst as these people scheduled me for an appointment when the doctor was on vacation. There was another doctor available but refused to see a colleagues patient. That was the last straw! I walked out angry and told them I will never return. Dont visit this place!!!
The people were nice but they are 145.00 for eye exam then they charge a addition 40.00 to check your prescription..what is that bullcrap an exam includes your prescription that is what its for...and of course your insurance doesnt cover it cause it is a bogus charge ...they should ask you if you want this not just do it .. why do I need my old prescription from my old glasses..this really upset me ...
I picked up my new eyeglasses a few weeks ago and they are fantastic.. Go seeMandy in the Ocala Office. Shes Dynamite!!!
Ocala loaction. Eye exam was good. Frame and lens prices are outrageous. My medical coverage benifits pay 100% but they made me pay the full amount. The girl at check out was rude and would not give me a copy of my medical records. She said that the doctor would have to approve it and made no effort to find the doctor. I waited 20 minutes and left.
After my first visit with Doctor Jessie on June 29, 2017, I could have given a better review. I had routine exams for my prescription and basic tests. I talked to the doctor about other tests that I had for Eye Issue in the past and suggested that I would like to get tested again to stay current with my numbers. Since these tests were not under my Vision Insurance, I provided my Medical insurance and asked that they call the insurance company and find out how much these exams would cost to have done. After being told that the individual, Melissa, was unavailable to contact my insurance company but would call the next day. I ordered my contacts and asked for my Visit Notes. Jessie said that she did not finish them yet. I was okay with that answer since I had to come back to pick up my contacts at the next visit.I had my second visit on 7/6/2017. This visit was the most outrageous visit that I have ever had with any doctor. I show up at 8:00AM for my visit. I am taken into a room for some basics exams with my new contacts. So far, so good. I am then placed into an exam room and I am told to wait for Jessie. A few minutes later, Jessie comes into the room and sits down to look back at her notes. She then turns to me and says that if I dont agree to come back every 3 months to have my Eye Issue checked, then I would have to find another doctor. I was appalled. First of all, there have been no tests done to get any results from to come to any conclusion about Eye Issue. Second, I am the patient. If I have an issue, then it is up to myself as the patient to come up with a plan of care. Jessie finished checking the contact fit and I went to the front area to pick up my contacts. I spoke to Melissa, who was supposed to call my Medical Insurance to find out the cost of the tests that I asked for at my first visit, but never made the call. I asked her again when she would call my insurance company, she said that she would call after 9:00AM. I told her what had happened in the exam room with Jessie. She said Did she try to strong arm you into coming in every 3 months even though we have no results to come to a conclusion of Eye Issue yet. I said, Yes. Melissa said that she needed to inform her manager that this had happened, as if she was concerned. Melissa said that she would contact my insurance company and get back to me via phone.Today is 7/10/17 and I have not received a call from Melissa to discuss the insurance cost or to inform me what her manager said in response to the tactics used by Jessie.I finally did get finally get my exam notes from the first visit. Is it general practice for doctors to lie in these notes. Because Jessie lied in the Eye Issue Suspect OU Plan: Other section. She said that she explained to me about delaying Eye Issue treatment. First of all, Jessie did not even discuss with me during the first visit the results of my tests. Both turn out to be in the normal range. She stated that she discussed Eye Issue with me and that I, the patient, voiced understanding to all that was said. Cant voice understanding to items that were not fully discussed.I work for a medical company who provides service to thousands of patients. I will never go back to MyEyeDr or Jessie. I will make sure that I inform my friends face to face and via social media about how I was treated by MyEyeDr, Doctor Jessie, and Melissa. The MyEyeDr staff needs to understand how to treat potential patients. You dont try to coerce patients into by saying if you dont agree to come in every 3 months then I will not be your doctor. You will have to find somebody else. Well, guess what. I will find another doctor and take my commercial insurance with me.
The worst but I mean absolutely the worst customer service after telling the dr my situation and symptoms I got no solution from the dr never even spoke about it, than I go over today to pick up my daughter and my glasses and had to wait over 30 mins after spending so much money in this place I wouldnt recommend this place to my enemy.
If I could give this place a negative I would!! First off let me make sure all understand this. I have an astigmatism. I have had needed glasses since grade school for reading, as with majority of people. In the last two years my eyes have went from 30 to 50 or so my eye care says. The lady as she was doing my eye exam looks at my history sees im 39 will be 40 this year. Automatically tells me well your 40 or soon to be and need reading glasses ok I have needed glasses the majority of my life for reading the astigmatism. Oh no. NOW because your at the magic number of 40 we can suck more money out and push bi focals on you. ok whatever i get the glasses put them on THERE. im straining my eyes to see out of them they are not the right script. The lady that does the glasses tells me oh you need to just get use to them so here it is a few weeks later severe headaches they are making me sick and im not wearing them anymore. So I call up there today. The receptionists gets an attitude with me. she informs me hey if you bring them here we can check to make sure the glasses themselves are the right script, OMG if the Optometrist wanted that extra money so bad and sent the order out for something that is not right do you really think the glasses are going to come back wrong? NO the Optometrist herself was more into getting more money then doing it right. How do I know this? I went to a REAL place happy to say my eyes are 20/30 NOT 20/50 and I do NOT need bi focal. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
My visit to Lange Eyecare was amazing, great customer service, doctor & technicians. They had a huge selection of eyeware for everyone, will go back next week to get fitted for contacts.Scott
I received my first pair of progressive lens glasses and have had no issues. Great fit first time fitting.
Friendly staff, always willing to answer any questions and fix any problems at hand. Would always recommend to friends and family.
Had to come back 3 times for the same test due to their error/inability to test correctly.Had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a scheduled appointment.Glasses do not fit correctly. Felt rushed during fitting and tech seemed careless in measurements.
I just left out myeyedr. Walked in the door and waited to be helped for 10 minutes. Employees walked past and around me the entire time and I wasnt greeted by one person. I dont plan to return.
I will never be coming back here again. They were very rude and not helpful at all. When i ordered my glasses they told me they would be ready on the 11th, so I called and I was told that my frames were ready and that I could come pick them up, but when I got there they told me they werent ready and it would be another couple weeks. But they were very rude about it and didnt even apologize for the inconvenience.
Everyone is very helpful and friendly.
My grandaughter went 3 weeks ago to get her eyes checked three weeks later no glasses they said days to two weeks no glasses were still having to wait
Worst place and worst service.
I paid a small fortune for new lenses. They were supposed to be sapphire colored transition lenses. They are gray. The corrective lenses are not exactly right but I am not bringing them back because I have better things to do with my time.My Eye Doctor use a very inferior lab to make the glasses and lenses. This lab kept making mistakes which seriously delayed my order. I have been going to this vendor for years without issue but this appointment was the worst. I will not return.
