Dead end has the best bagels in ocean city (I would also argue they have the best bagels in south Jersey) Bagels have a nice crunchy outside and a soft inside, they’re always fresh and delicious. My favorite is their blueberry bagel. I always bring my friends here and tell everyone to try this place out. I crave these bagels constantly. If you’re in ocean city, I’d definitely recommend stopping by here!
The best bagels in Ocean City but the worst experience every time. I have been going to Dead End since it opened and consistently leave frustrated by either an extremely long wait, wrong order, or both. The bagels have kept me coming back in hopes that the business processes would improve but after 3+ years they have unfortunately only gotten worse to the point where I’m considering not going back. I can’t stress enough how important it is for this company to invest in a Six Sigma consultant if they want to stay in business in the long run. They have a great product and would be crushing it if they focused on business process optimization to create a positive customer experience.
I placed an order online. I placed it at 7:20 am. The order said it would be ready at 7:45. I arrive at 8:20. My order has not been made yet. There’s a line of people. Then, they tell me that the cinnamon raisin bagels are gone. They sold out of them at 8 am. If they had gotten my order ready when they were supposed to, that would’ve been a different story. Then, I had requested vegan cream cheese because I’m allergic to dairy. They gave me veggie cream cheese which is very different and contains dairy. Then on top of it all, the everything bagels were so salty we couldn’t even eat more than a few bites. This was my second order from them ever and the first order was great. But this order was a nightmare. You can’t serve people with allergies something they’re allergic to. Please be more aware.
Fresh and delicious bagels! Ordered the Dozen Bagged Combo (1 dozen bagels w/ 2 8 oz spreads) for an event. The Maple Whiskey Cream Cheese was a hit. Thanks to Ryan for taking the telephone order and having it ready as promised.
Scones - good, a bit dry, but as expected. Bagels - very good, best in the area. They are always out of cinnamon raisin, I should stop by earlier in the day. Cinnamon roll - blew me out of the water, tons of filing and icing, perhaps the best Ive had.Ill need to add another mile on to tomorrows run.
I really wanted to love this place. It’s literally “steps” away from home and the bagels are great. However, there seems to be a communication breakdown at the grille. I prefer my bagel and egg sandwiches with eggs fully cooked but NOT browned. I have ordered this 8 times, and emphasized this preference several different ways, and every time, the egg is well done. This changes the taste in a way I really don’t like. I realize this may seem like a trivial thing - I get it. I’ll still buy my bagels here (they are wonderful), but I’ll make my own sandwiches. I’m really just posting this for others who share my preference, so that you won’t be disappointed. If you prefer eggs well done, you will love their sandwiches.
Words can not Express how much I love this place. Its one of my favorite on the go breakfast places. But there not just a breakfast place they have the best grilled cheese! They do have indoor and out door setting tho. Theyre bread and focaccia bread are the best along with the bagels they have fresh everyday. Dont get me started on the pop tarts. So good! And the staff are always so nice.
Breakfast bagel was pretty good but there was a lot of guacamole on the bottom of my bagel that made the sandwich less than desirable. I didnt order any guacamole and I dont like it either. There was also a piece of a tomato in my box. Looks like whoever made the sandwich got a little sloppy.
Very disappointed, this was my favorite place every summer. Plenty of tempting baked goods, good coffee, delicious sandwiches and friendly, fast service. Last summer I noticed a decrease in service quality, but the food was still pretty good. This year I not only received poor service, but my bagel sandwich was depressing. Literally a single tiny slice of tomato on my Avocado BLT, 2 undercooked pieces of bacon, limp iceberg, and a tsp of avodado. The bagel wasnt even toasted! My husbands grilled cheese was likewise lower quality - burned and barely any filling. They got the coffee order wrong - pretty sure theres whole milk in mine instead of almond, plus its the wrong size. Muffins described as White Chocolate Oreo and Cinnamon Raisin looked identical and overbaked; I avoided them. The bagels themselves are still good, if you avoid everything else.
Great place when not busy. Not so great when they are. Getting your order correct is 50 50 when crowded, but they are spot on regular days

This place makes incredible bagels however it’s no longer worth going to. The order for a bagel with butter takes well over 45 minutes each time whether you go in person, call ahead, or order online. The order is started when you arrive no matter what. I ordered a bagel toasted with butter and it took 65 minutes (phone said 20 min wait, and 45 min in person wait). Upon opening, the bagel was sliced, but not toasted, and no butter.The management has made no effort year over year to improve service. We have sent emails, messaged on social media, etc. The hardworking kids are trying their best and doing great but the management should be ashamed of themselves. Anyone can see this place is in desperate need for organizational structure (how to take online and in person orders, prioritize, expedite etc). Shame on management for failing their team so badly and creating such a negative experience for everyone involved
Although the product is great, they still havent gotten down their ordering/crowd control. Still a wait when you order online. However, the bagels are reminiscent of NYC bagels so for us, it is worth the wait!
Some of the best bagels (if not the best) we’ve ever had. Ordered a baker’s dozen early in our vacation week and went back for two dozen more before we left. Blueberry bagel was a highlight. Will be going back whenever I’m in Ocean City!

All the ingredients are fresh🥑 and tasteful and they do not short you on them. Perfectly cooked bacon and fried egg.As a self proclaimed coffee aficionado, I LOVE the cold brew. (Tastes like it may be roasted over at Ocean City Coffee Co. But Im not certain.) Smooth with fruity undertones that make it perfect for front porch sippin on a warm summer morning.I was pretty devastated when The Breakfast Shop announced their permanent closing but I have renewed spirit after my experience with Dead End Bakehouse. I would happily wait over an hour for the kind of food they are putting out. If people were so worried about it taking long they would put in their order ahead of time and give a time they want it fired and ready.When youre looking at these reviews and seeing Negative Nancys only minority complaint is that it sometimes takes too long and the rest are raving about how it tastes you must wonder if people are just too impatient.(Ive got my delivery within 45 minutes to the south side of the island all 3 times Ive ordered, food still hot)Some of these local guides need to have some respect and empathy for these restaurants putting out amazing food, now more than ever. Line was ridiculous long, the bagel I ordered onion, toasted and buttered was like a loaf of bread, not toasted.. I also ordered a side order of Crispy bacon, needless to say it was not cooked all the way, fatty as hell.. never coming back here again.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place used to be good, idk what happened, but the quality has dipped hard. Last year, I got a bagel with cream cheese, and they gave me a buttered bagel and wouldnt replace it. I left a review then and shouldve never came back. However, a year later, yesterday I got a pork roll, egg and pepper jack cheese bagel, and they gave me a bacon and american chese bagel. i asked them to fix it, but then they gave me the wrong bread, which is surprising since i had placed my origial order only 5 min prior. then, after i told them of their second mistake, they took the filling of my bagel and placed it in an toasted bagel and handed me what looked like a greasy pile of garbage. DO NOT GO HERE! Go to Hot Bagels in Somers Point, its just over the bridge and SOOOO much better.
Food is cold and soggy.Showed up 5 mins early to pick up food. Was dead when i arrived (one family waiting). Sat and waited for 30 minutes watching other people come in, order, have their food prepared and then leave. Asked about my order 3 times.Can actually see my order (3 out of 4 pieces) sitting on the shelf and the 4th bagel sitting on the counter untouched for nearly 15 minutes.As you would guess, bagel sandwiches taste terrible when cold and soggy.

The BEST breakfast sandwiches on the island! Went in today and was blown away by the quality. I ordered online and everything was prompt, ready, and correct. The bagels are phenomenal and the ham that is used on these breakfast sandwiches is like the kind your grandmother used to make at Christmas...amazing! Very impressed
Posting an update for my recent visit where I had an extremely negative experience. I placed an order through their website to avoid waiting in line and to make sure I could get the sandwiches I wanted before they ran out. Once the order was placed I saw I had a 40 minute wait. After showing up at the directed pick-up time, I was directed to the back of the line and once they pulled up my online order, thats when they started to make the sandwiches and realized they were out of almost everything. Id already paid but was pretty much told to screw myself and pick out something they had left. That just defeated the entire purpose of even having the option to order ahead for pickup. I’ve been vacationing down in Ocean City for 20+ years and just came upon this gem of a place. Hands down the BEST breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Between the home made bagel & endless options for toppings, you can’t beat it. Not to mention totally reasonable pricing. It doesn’t just end at a sandwich, there’s so many other amazing breads & pastries I can’t wait to try out. Thanks Dead End Bakehouse, keep doing your thing!
The food overall tastes very good bits it’s very expensive. For any vegetarians: they will still charge $6 for an egg and cheese with no meat which I think is kind of ridiculous if it costs $2 to get extra meat. It should be cheaper to get the sandwich without meat. We also got there at 7 am and there were only a couple bagels made which is kind of annoying when the menu lists so many and i could only choose from plain everything and a couple others. i was a little disappointed but the quality is still good.
Ordered a plain bagel...got an everything bagel. Ordered cucumber, they were out...opted for spinach....no spinach. Vegi cream cheese was anything but creamy as it was more of a watery consistency and soaked into bagel. Cream cheese was slopped on all over making the sandwich a complete mess (inside and out). Bagel didn’t even taste fresh (maybe that’s how everything bagels normally taste? But again didn’t order an everything). Real disappointing when you get all the way home and it’s nothing what you expected.
Yum. Jus yum. We had a par of lox. Cream cheese, tomato, red onion and dillPerfect balance especially when I got to the gresh dill. Mine was on an EverythingThe bagel was crisp on the outside and wonderfully tender inside. Sis had hers on a Sqid Ink. So black! She loved the addition of the briney ink with the lox. She says Squid Ink is now her favorite bagel. Prices are in line with other places of the kind and while we took takeout the bar to eat at looked very nice. Goin back for sure.
CBD oil latte was off the chain ! The poppy seed bagel was a perfect fresh bagel. The workers were pleasant even with a non compliant non mask wearer and took care of them outside. I felt Covid19 safe there. My next two visits didn’t go as well I’m sad to say.

Pretty great! Food was delicious. We had two breakfast sandwiches. My partner got a garlic bagel and, though they dont offer gluten free bread options, they were very accommodating for me and gave me my bagel sandwich on a bed of lettuce.The nitro coffee was strong and the chai was great (love a good chai that doesnt taste watered down).

Coconut chocolate chip macaron was moist and delicious, the cheddar bagel was dry but the bacon was great. The store seemed a bit off but that comes with being newer. Also thought they were going to have the tomato basil focaccia bread today but I was proved otherwise. Looking forward to trying avocado goat cheese on sourdough and the tomato basil focaccia.
Amazing bagels but ridiculously slow service. There is no reason it should take 45 minutes for a bagel and cream cheese, especially if I online ordered prior to arriving.
Very disappointed that they didnt have 2 out of the 6 bagel flavors they advertise and that I intended to buy. They bagels they did have were good.
I can’t speak to the bagels because we never got our order. After waiting 40 minutes the boy at the counter said “I can’t even tell you how much longer. Your ticket is back there.” Everyone in the store was waiting and multiple people asked for refunds. So unless you have hours to wait for bagels, don’t bother.
Don’t read the negative Yelp reviews... this place is amazing. 99% of there food is amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the pizza bagels. Omg the veggie one with balsamic drizzle was 🤤 Pretzel bagel also amazing, but would recommend as a breakfast sammie and not loose. We love it here! Don’t see how you couldn’t!!

Would leave 3 starts because the bagels are pretty good but the constant inconsistency of the sandwiches is why I am giving a 2. Ordered a Pork roll and cheese no egg. Got home and had a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. Wasn’t that big of a deal since I live across the street and they were willing to remake the sandwich. Get home now with remade sandwich and it was slopped together. Pork roll under cooked and bagel not even toasted. Just a waste of time. This is not the first time this has happened either which is why I am now finally leaving a review. It’s ashame that we would rather drive to hot bagels in somers point then to support our neighbors.
Food was good, and staff was friendly, but I feel like this bakery lacks organization and/or management. People who ordered in advance still had to wait in line with others who were ordering on-site. Cashiers were touching money, then food and back to money. Employees were adjusting their masks, then touching food. Ill try back again, later in the season, to see if their cleanliness procedures have improved.
This place is amazing. Beautiful breads. Fresh bagels. And a list of cream cheese spreads a mile long. Will definitely be visiting again soon

This is the worst place I ever went to, the wait was astronomical even when there was nobody there. The order was WRONG at least if I’m waiting 30 mins for 3 bagels at least get them right . Only 3 bagels is what I ordered and this was absolutely ridiculous. I will not recommend this place to anyone . They couldn’t even get the order right with a huge amount of time

Good bagel joint for the vacationer
First time visiting. Ordered cookies promised to be ready the next day by 9:30 am. I promptly show up 9:30 am. The cookies aren’t ready. I’m a reasonable girl so I say I’ll be back in an hour. I promptly come back 10:30 am the cookies still are not ready. I ask for a refund and the girl says it will take me 5 minutes to write on the cookie. I answered if it takes 5 minutes then why aren’t the cookies I ordered yesterday ready? I give her another hour but this time I come back two hours later and there was a cookie missing. I never ever write a bad review for a business but this will obviously be my last time here and as a business owner myself here in Ocean City am completely disappointed.
The service was fast. The bagels were great! I also got a dirty Chai and it was very flavorful. I liked it better then rinova or Starbucks.

The red haired girl taking orders in the front is very rude and doesn’t know how to talk to a customer. On top of that I waited about an hour for a cold breakfast sandwich. When I received the sandwich it also had a weird green slime all over that box that went all over my shorts. The sandwich also made me feel sick. I suggest coming here if you want the worst breakfast experience of your life.
Cheddar Jalapeño bagel, sausage, egg, and pepper jack cheese was dynamite. Very little grease but tons of flavor!Never had lox before, but being someone that loves sushi, I grabbed that to save in the fridge for lunch. Phenomenal. So fresh and balanced.Nitro Cold brew - no sugar, no cream. Awesome!Girlfriend grabbed a grilled cheese and loved it.Next time I’m back in OC I will have to swing by again.

So many delicious bagels and pastries to choose from. This morning I went with a bacon egg & cheese everything bagel and freshly squeezed orange juice. Tomorrow maybe the humongous cinnamon roll. Everything looks great, maybe Ill be back for one of their specialty grilled cheeses. Im for sure going to take home a brioche and sourdough loaf of bread. Ocean Citys best kept secret right here. ❤
I came here during my vacation and I was not prepared to have the best bagel I have ever had in my entire life. Staff was absolutely incredible and accommodating in helping me decide what to order. Cold brew was top notch.

I always look up for a new dish, and that habit doesnt change after 40. I recently discovered this bakehouse, and I am pretty impressed with what their menu offers. Smoked Salomon Toast is the first one that I tried here, and it turns out to be excellent. I loved it!

This place is very interesting to me. We went there this morning at 7 a.m. foreclosed thereafter and it seemed like they still were not ready for business yet. I was hoping to walk in and see a complete spread of everything that they had date but they had yet to put the product out. The bacon egg and cheese sandwiches that we ordered were delicious and the bagels were fresh. The service was okay, nothing over-the-top.

Would honestly rate a zero if I could. Ordered online at 10:50am was told 55 mins and arrived at 11:55am and had to wait in line to tell them I was there and didn’t receive my order until 12:30pm. Why offer prepaid online ordering if you cannot accommodate. Horrible
