Good people, great service. They repaired an outboard motor candidly, in less and expense than I anticipated. The mechanic took the time to personally explain what was done. Couldnt be happier.

Wonderful experience. !! Staff was friendly and professional, and had everything ready for me. Its unfortunate I witnessed rude customers coming in and out, to be honest....they didnt deserve it, if anything they tried to accommodate your issue(s). Example: There wasnt any parking available for some of my friends, they gave us 2 extra passes to park on their private property (they didnt have to do that for us), they did this for us while a customer was being ignorant towards the staff. Pontoon was clean and efficient. I CANT WAIT TO RENT A PONTOON FROM THEM AGAIN!!

We had an excellent experience purchasing a new boat and brokering our previous boat. Advanced Marina is a GEM right in OC. We respect that they are a true family business and somehow manage to get it all done while providing a personal experience where you dont feel like a number. They answer all of our questions and respond quickly to emails too. We really dislike pushy sales people, and luckily there arent any at Advanced Marina. Laid back, efficient, and responsive!!! Dont overlook them when youre shopping for a boat!

Pontoon Boat Rental Nightmare of a Lifetime.I rent from Advanced Marina a few times a season and this will be my last time ever. Conditions were poor to be out on the water yesterday and before going out we were told conditions were great and 13 boats were on the water. We were out for only a 1/2 hour and the boat took on water 3x in the front and back. I called the Coast Guard and they said we shouldn’t be out in today’s conditions. Advanced Marina and owner Susan Wenzlaff said “my job isn’t to worry about the conditions and to rent boats and make money.” She publicly mocked all the groups and said “you must be bad captains!” Very unprofessional and worst experience with an owner ever. She wouldn’t give any of our money back and called the police on 5 parties that had the same experience. Everyone but the owner was being reasonable and we asked for a portion of our money back. She told us no and had the Police confront us and hid. Please DO NOT rent from this company. Very unethical! Thank you Advanced Marina and Susan Wenzlaff for knowingly putting our lives in jeopardy with children on board.

I purchased a consignment boat from Advanced Marina last week and I had an overall great experience with them. I tried to haggle a little to no avail really, but they were very pleasant and easy to deal with.They were accommodating for me being an out of state purchaser and setting up payment for the boat.All the staff I dealt with being, owner, sales, mechanics and the gentleman that did the sea trial were all super helpful and willing to go above and beyond with helping out and getting the boat loaded back up and trailer adjustments. They fit me in last minute to rewinterize as well with a loaded schedule.Their regular customers that were in there dealing with them when i was there seemed happy with their service as well.I think the negative comments on them were more related to rentals and that honestly has to be a tough business to be in.I have no complaints about my transaction at Advanced Marina and just glad they were helpful and nice which is rare these days.

PLEASE THINK TWICE. If all goes well, you will have an average experience at best with this business. If you have ANY issues at all, the customer service side of this business will let you down. I will not bore you with all of the details of our experience. However, i would like to give some advice to the owner or supervisor of this business. If you do not understand what polite customer service is, and how valuable it is, i recommend you hire a manager to run your facilities. It would greatly improve your customer retention rate. I for one, will never return.

RAN OUT OF FUEL ON THE WATER...THEY STILL WANTED TO CHARGE USReserved a 4-hour pontoon boat one afternoon. Customer service was to satisfaction during the reservation process, as well as acquiring the boat, and launching. After about 1-hour the motor cut off, and sure enough it was out of fuel. We contacted the office, they sent someone out who took 1-hour to arrive. We were told this gentleman was the owner, so we expected professionalism. He was extremely ignorant toward us, would not hear us out regarding our disappointment in wasting the rental time, and sent his dock hand on board with 12-1/2 gallons of fuel in busted up containers without a proper funnel to refuel. After refueling, the fuel gauge did not move so we were uncomfortable remaining out, along with the fact that the owner would not speak of what reconciliation/compensation would come of our situation and we were concerned they would charge us the full rental fee despite this down time. We went back to the marina, went in to speak with the counter clerk (the owner disappeared), and spoke regarding the situation. They attempted to offer us a refund for the time we did not use of the rental which we were not accepting as we planned the entire day around this, spent 1-hour getting to the location on the water to tube, and 1-hour stranded waiting for the fuel to arrive. In the end we did get a full refund. This may be long winded, but I wanted others to be aware of the full situation. Oversight, laziness, ignorance; all may have been involved here, but running out of fuel when renting a boat for only 4-hours was unacceptable!

I had a great time with my friends on our pontoon rental! The staff was very helpful and got us through the rush, especially the handsome young man behind the counter. I would highly recommend renting from here!

The good: boat experience was fine. workers are nice.the bad: owner is not nice. she yelled at us for something her workers said was okay. when we asked for her name, she gave us a fake one. so so so rude. eventually gave her 10$ to appease her but will never do business here again.after reading these reviews, i see we’re not the only ones affected by their customer service.

TERRIBLE SERVICE! On 8/2, we rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours. 15 minutes later, we had to turn around because the front door latch would not stay locked and our boat was half submerged in the water. Luckily, my husband placed the boat on reverse and we were able to lock the latch and remove the majority of the water. We were on the boat for a total 30 minutes, round trip. Advance Marina, is not a customer friendly place. The owner is money hungry and does not care about having returning customers! Refused to give us a refund, we were happy with a 50% refund but the owner refused. This exact same situation happened to 4 other families who were also trying to request a refund. The owner proceeded to call the police to have us removed from the property and avoid speaking to us. Due to all the families who returned we saved a 90-year old lady who was in a party who was going to rent a boat! Advance Marina should be ashamed and I cannot understand how they are in business. The coast guard and the police said to us these boats should of not been in the water!

Terrible experience with Advanced Marina. I spent 5500 in maintenance over the past 8 months with them. The new starter that they installed in early May stopped working and the best that they can do to resolve their issue is July 7th. The owner and his wife need to take a lesson in customer service. Very disappointed and question their ability to service their clientsTo conclude on the final chapter with Advanced Marine. I never heard from Mark or Suzy nor their interest in addressing the faulty starter or their inability to address the situation. I had my boat towed to Harbor Marine where I was greeted warmly by the team and they were able to address the issue. They informed me that the starter was never the issue (over $1,000 later) but rather issues with the engine. They did this professionally and transparently within hours of arrival. I walked out the next day with a very fair assessment and options. I bought a new pontoon boat that day and was extremely impressed with Monica and the team and how they treated me. I wish I would have read these reviews before booking.I rented a Pontoon for my Husbands 31st birthday, group of 8 people. We arrived 30 mins prior to out scheduled start time and our captain went in for his training. He comes out and we waited and waited and waited. 45 mins go by and they start to put us on a pontoon. Then they say that one is booked and we get off. Then they say theyre sorry but they have to put us on a pontoon with a smaller engine and will refund us some money. So we go to get on that pontoon and its already been booked, we get off. THEN they say theyre going to upgrade us to a more powerful engine and we go to get on that boat and the same thing happens.At this point my husband walks back to the office while this poor 14 year old dock boy is confused and embarrassed and awkward. Now some lady in the shop is telling my husband they might not have a boat for us....like what?! We have now been here almost 2 hours waiting for a boat that they JUST realized they dont have...? How does that even happen?I go in to see what is going on and the front desk lady tells me that the boat we reserved has not returned and they were to be back an hour ago. There are at least 5 boats docked with no one on them and no one waiting to board.Things are not adding up and she then says that due to inclement weather the morning reservations were pushed back 2 hours. So either this person was actually late, or he still had a 4 hour reservation and they did not contact afternoon reservations to let us know. She said that she called the boat renter and he had just gotten his food at Seacrets...what?!She never even uttered any type of I am so sorry or really even tried to explain what was going on. I tried to ask her if we should wait or just leave and all she said was I will refund you. This was after 2 hours of waiting for a boat.The disorganization and lack of any type of customer service was appalling. I am ALL for understanding human error, but the way this situation was handled was mind blowing. If we had never gone in to see what was going on they probably would have continued to let us sit out in the heat for another couple of hours. I would never EVER recommend this company.

I had engine overheating and oil issues with my yamaha 200 horsepower outboard on a sailfish 23-ft boat. The staff at Advanced Marina was quick to diagnose the problem and fix me up. I was back in the water in no time. The repair cost was reasonable and they are pros. I would recommend their services to anyone.

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. ON AUGUST 2ND, 2020 SEVERAL FAMILIES RENTED THEIR OWN PONTOON BOAT. WE ALL RETURNED TO THE MARINA DUE TO UNSAFE CONDITIONS. THE FRONT END OF OUR PONTOON BOAT BEGAN TO SUBMERGE UNDER WATER. THE FRONT DOOR/GATE TO THE PONTOON SWUNG OPEN WIPING OUT SOME OF OUR BELONGING OUT INTO THE BAY. WE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO THE MARINA WITHIN 30 MINS OF OUR 4 HOUR RENTAL. WE SPOKE TO A WOMAN WHO INITIALLY DENIED BEING THE OWNER TO ONLY FIND OUT LATER SHE WAS. SHE REFUSED ANY MONETARY REFUND. WE WERE CONTENT WITH A 50% REFUND AND THATS ALL WE WANTED BUT WERE DENIED. THEIR OWN DOCK WORKER HAD INFORMED US ON OUR RETURN THAT THE PONTOON SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN OUT THERE UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS. BUT YET AT NO TIME DURING THE BOOKING WERE WE NOTIFIED A PONTOON WOULDN’T BE ALLOWED OR RECOMMENDED. MULTIPLE FAMILIES (4 or 5) ALL EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. THE WAY IT WAS HANDLED WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND IMMORAL. PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER PLACES AND READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE AGREEMENTS. PLACE IS A SCAM

We were very excited to spend some time in the sun and saw the great reviews but unfortunately did not experience great customer service. We waited an hour to board on our boat as it was getting fixed. No explanation was given to us as to why we were waiting. When we tried to get answers the OWNER told the women helping us to not worry about us and to help her with another task stated we could keep waiting and the guys could take care of us. We were brushed off and it was extremely rude. When we tried to explain to her we had been waiting for over an hour she acted as though we were asking for too much and said well the time starts when you can leave theyll be fine. It was unprofessional. All we wanted was an answer as to why people who had came after us were boarding available boats but we were there waiting for that ONE boat in particular. In my view it was something that could have been handled differently, a simple apology would have gone a long way.

My husband and I has had multiple experiences on boats and this one was by far the worst. The boat was really bumpy and throughout the ride we experienced water getting into the boat ( something that has never happened) the radio on the boat didn’t work, the seats inside of the boat were a bit dirty. I am truly unimpressed

This was a great experience for my family and I! We rented a 60 HP pontoon and the boats there are new and they offer competitive pricing. My kids had a blast tubing and being out on the water! We will definitely be back!

Booked a boat, weather turned awful with thunder and torrential downpouring, not safe for a group of 7 with limited experience. They penalized us $100 and refused to offer a credit toward a future booking.

Extremely rude especially given the fact of priorMilitary. I’m a ussa member . Now they wouldn’t work with me at All... they require (a visa or master card CREDIT ONLY, not a debit card that can be ran as credit) I offered to us my American Express usaa credit card they can’t take it, I even asked if I my parents who have a credit card could I just use their card and they wouldn’t take that unless they drove from Florida to here and be in person, I asked if I could even show available funds and leave my debit card with them and they said no... I’m sorry I don’t want to rack up credit card debt that’s why I only have an American Express but this place wouldn’t work with us at all . The manager also just was rude and said no.

Horrible.... I’ve regretted buying my boat from them from the beginning... the terrible customer service the old women that owns the place, provides is unbelievable . I made the mistake of going back for a possible problem with the boat... first trip back to ocean city in a while...we didn’t expect to just show up and expect them to drop everything .... called and made an appointment two weeks prior just for a few minutes of their time to hear the noise and discuss.... even that was a chore....when we arrived ...we waited 30 minutes to to talk to the guy for about a minute.... it was clear they didn’t want to help us... I was then told we would have to wait for another guy to come back from his break.....then the old lady came out annoyed we were parked at the dock( where one of the teenage employees told us to park)really???? Then they wanted us to just leave the boat... we drove it here.. we can’t leave it.... we wasted about an hour and half of our time waiting around for help only to be treated poorly.... I guess she figured if she was rude enough we would just leave......well we did.... won’t ever be back..... don’t waste your time with these people. Well I feel lucky after reading the reviews that my family had a good time. At the time of this review advance marina score is 3.9 and honestly that should be at least one star lower. for the rental side of the business. I was told when checking local prices 360 for our 4 hour boat rental.... I then told them I had a coupon for buy 2hr get 2 early bird deal.girl on phone was obviously busy told me ok bringing it in.I mentioned it two More Time as I was being processed and I do mean processed as it was very busy at opening. My bill was 350 +30 tow floaty +80 gas total of 511 plus a 200 damage deposit.ouch thankfully I got deposit back. But being a tourist I feel I got milked for every last drop. Boat was ok most of the dashboard did not work no radio,speedo, depth gauge or gps motor ran well although on the way back noticed a light on dash blinking oil. I informed dock guy but boat was already being processed for the waiting next customers and driver was being orientated never saw any oil go in the engine.all in all I now feel lucky we had a fun time with just my wallet taking a beating.

The sales guy ignored us completely, even after being asked for help with a specific boat. The boat was not clean and he was not able to provide any information on what worked or did not on the (used) boat.

I heard about this company through a friend who has used them many times already and recommended them to us. So we called in a day in advance and they were very helpful for us to choose the right boat for us. When we went there for the boat day we showed up and when into the office and did all our paperwork very fast and had us out the boat to get in thirty minutes and fifteen minutes later they had us out an on our way on the water. They told us information about the boat and showed us where everything is so we would know what to do. All the staff there are very nice and helpful. I would defiantly recommend them for boat rentals and jet ski rentals.

I would actually give no stars to this place. We had a horrible experience. We had inadvertently RSVP’d for a day that ended up having a thunderstorm/severe storm along with major rip current warnings. Regardless of this, Advanced Marina did not let us reschedule without losing our $285. So, like most people that don’t want to waste money, we went out on the boat. The boat itself wasn’t the best quality and it almost sank 2 times! It was a pontoon boat... we only had 2 people in the front..... after we all went to the back of the boat, our boat leveled out and we fortunately made it back safely. The staff members that gave the safety demonstration looked all of 15 years old and didn’t seem to care if we were going to be okay or not. The adults staff weren’t much better. Their tone, body language and general demeanor came across as though we were a nuisance. If they had let us reschedule for the next day (which happened to be a perfect beach day), we may have had a better boating experience on the water... but not sure if the staff would’ve been any nicer. The experience made for an epic story to share with family and friends, but wished it would’ve been a story that had a happier experience.

Mark and R.D. at Advanced Marina were the broker that represented me in the sale of my familys boat. They did a GREAT job getting the boat show ready, offering advice on fair market value, and eventually finding us the right buyer. I would recommend Advanced Marina to anyone looking to buy or sell a boat in or around Ocean City. They sold my boat in less than 45 days at the price I wanted. Kudos to Mark and his team!

Make sure they advise of their cancellation policy up front, because regardless if they did or not, you only get 50% of your money back if you cancel within 30 days. We were not notified when we made last minute reservations and had to cancel a week later due to a change in plans. Although they did not tell us, they will still only refund 50%. I understand policies are in place for a reason but this is not the usual circumstance. They could see when we made the reservation (just last weekend) and the girl we talked to barely knew what was going on, much less told us of their policy, so when we canceled for this upcoming weekend due to a change in place, and are only able to get 50% back, we are NOT happy. Hope this helps anyone looking to use this place. Customer service sucks.

This place was OK. We got a pontoon boat, rented it for 9-1 time slot. We didnt get out onto the boat until 9:40 because there was a video that was required to watch. The women there were not very nice. They have zero customer parking and when we got onto the lot, instead of directing us to find where we should park, they told us we need to get off the property. The one boy, who was nice enough to help us, had unfortunately tied our inner tube up wrong causing it to rip to shreds when we were out on the water. We returned to the dock and explained to the ladies what happened and we didnt tie it up initially. Their response was that they dont help customers tie up tubes. We said, yes, the boy did help us and in response they stated they were charging the kid $30 to replace the tube cover. Our boats speed maxed out at about 20 with 8 adults and a cooler. By 12:30 our gas indicator was on E so we went in to end our trip. We enjoyed our time on the bay, just not so much with the rental experience.

If I could give no stars I would. The staff was fine and very friendly but the quality of the boats you can rent are subpar by far. and me and my fiance came to rent a pontoon just to find out after the fact that none of their boats have radios and they dont disclose it! then before we even got on a boat we decided to change our mind and were told no refunds!! terrible service from the woman who was running the organization. Will never recommend and will never get my service again. I will be leaving reviews on this junk of a rental place everywhere possible.

The boat rental experience at Advanced Marina was great! Staff was friendly and timely.. The boat was clean, new, and operated perfectly!

Would not use them again, we called ahead for overnight jet ski slip rental for 3 skis( just a slip not a jet ski rental). We arrived at 4pm and planned on leaving by 9a the next morning. We prepaid for this and upon our checking in they wanted an additional $210 because it was 2 calendar days. 420 dollars for 16 hours of dockage seems a bit ridiculous.

Ordered a 80 hp speed boat got a 60 hp pontoon instead but was nice.Old lady was very nasty. Told my 11 yr old daughter to loose weight then maybe the lifevest will fit. Tube was shot and fishing pole was half a rig and couldnt use. They Said come 930 got boat at 10 and back at one. Wasnt told it was a special deal or I would have come at 9 to get the full 4 hrs. Would have rather given 400$ to another vendor. I never posted a bad review till today. For anything. This was not a very nice experience on the shore. But boat and bay was nice Still love ocmd

DO NOT GO HERE! Their unprofessionalism is unparalleled. We rented the boats for 4 hours, yet they neglected to inform us that the training video and paperwork, as well as them getting the boat ready, would not only take nearly two hours, but was part of our 4 hours. So we essentially paid to sit on their dock. And then when we returned the boats, they had called the police to watch us while we took our things off the boats. Not a friendly business, not a friendly atmosphere, and I have no intention of ever going back to them.

We called and reserved a 4 hr pontoon boat for today. All they took was our last name. After reading all the bad reviews we decided to cancel. When we called to cancel they didnt have anything down for us today for a 4hr pontoon rental at the time we scheduled it for. Im glad we went with our gut and didnt go.

I would not recommend renting from this place, in fact I am certain the pontoon boat we rented was faulty after the fact. We have rented from other places in OCMD before and have never experienced anything like this. We rented the large pontoon because there were 11 of us, ages ranged from 19 –75. We were not even 5 minutes out when we decided to slow down and see which way to go, when we slowed down the front of the boat began to take on water and it wouldn’t stop, the front of the boat actually started to sink and the boat was filling up with water! My 75 year old mother and our children all had to run to the back of the boat. This was a VERY scary experience, it made no sense based on the slow speed that we were going - this should NOT happen. We decided to continue to go out but every time we slowed down the front of the boat would start to drift into the water. We did not enjoy our time on the water. When we finally returned the boat the staff was less than understanding, they said and I quote “Oh, that happens all the time”, well I don’t know about you but I don’t ever want to rent from a company whose boats take on water ALL THE TIME!!

I have been boating for a long time, mostly in South Florida and Detroit, it was my first time in Ocean City. A few days prior I purchased a new Robalo R180, had the boat out in Annapolis, but again, no experience in Ocean City. Where was I going to launch it? Where was I going to keep it? I found a few places and made some calls. Ended up at Advanced Marina. Dropped the boat off in their lot, still on the trailer, at 10pm. The next morning showed up and they had it moved to the yard and were ready to lift it off the trailer and drop it in the water with their forklift. They put it in, and moved it to a slip, all setup ready to go. Ended up talking a lot with Mark Wenzlaff about the shallow waters, he even gave me his cell, just in case I had questions, where to go, not to go, etc. I ended up keeping it in the water for 3 days in a slip. At the end of my trip, they pulled the Robalo out, cleaned it and flushed my motor, then put it back on my trailer and I left. Very easy process, very convenient, great group of people to talk to. I will be back a few times this summer and plan on staying there every time. - Ive posted some photos on my instagram and on vine, look for me.
