This us a great place to work in your own car. They have lifts, all kinds of tools, including air powered and impact drivers, all part of the $30 an hour price you pay. Its only $15 an hour if you pay a yearly membership fee. They also have guys to help. They were a bit over it today, but it was pretty hot in the shop. Still, its in Oceanside, so it never gets too, too hot.

Our first experience was really great, And if you are taking your car there to have them fix it you will be happy as well. However, dont join the club to be able to use the lifts because we have yet to be able to use our membership except for the first time when we bought it. Every time we call there are no openings...

It’s not easy to find a DIY shop with lifts so I was pretty excited when I came to San Diego from Florida and found Gearheads. As a seasoned DIYer I appreciate the no-nonsense approach to accessing a lift. First time I got there my car was on a lift in a matter of minutes after watching a two-minute video and signing a liability waiver. The mechanics that have been there on my three visits are friendly and approachable if you have a question about the lifts or need to borrow a tool. I purchased a membership on my second visit and will make regular use of it as it reduces the stress of owning a high-maintenance car while giving me the ability to enjoy my hobby in a good environment.

Need an honest mechanic at the best price, this place is exactly that.I had a check engine light which was diagnosed to be a bad servo. The servo needed to be ordered. When I returned they discovered that the servo connector was the issue. Not only was I not charged for the service but they paid me back for the servo I didnt need. This is the first time Ive ever received money for going to a mechanic!

They have very reasonable prices and they are honest too. they told me I did not need to replace something as they showed me it was working fine. Thanks for saving me 4 hours and 400 bucks love the integrity 👍👍

Joel and Brad are great! We have had them servicing our car and truck for about three years now. From keeping our Saturn kicking for over 250k miles and rebuilding our 2005 Avalanche, we wouldnt go anywhere else. They are honest, and are more than fair in pricing. Brad and his crew did a great job helping me replace my broken sideview mirror. Even after I purchased the wrong replacement. They showed me what part I needed to buy. Suggested where I could order it online too. Then waived any additional fees to install it for me when I returned with right mirror. Thanks Guys!

Great place to work on your own vehicle, or they install your supplies parts. If you dont have the right tools theyll let you borrow one. And if you get stuck in the process, one of their mechanics will lend you a hand. They have been nothing but gracious. Thank you Joel, Brad, Jose, and Ruben for all your help.

So glad to have found this place. Not only can you use their facility, tools and knowledge for your DIY projects and you can have them work on your vehicle for you, if needed.I came in today for a power steering flush for my 2011 JKU. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with 1 of 2 owners, Brad. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I felt like a long lost family member welcomed back into their home. Jose did the job at hand perfectly. I WILL be definitely recommending Gearheads to all of my family and friends. Great place that has great integrity.

Joel and the mechanic i worked with were very nice and helpful. The price they gave me to replace my two front brake pads and rotors was great and way better than what other places were quoting me at. Did the job quick and highly recommend for brake pad replacement /repair.

This is the only place that I trust to get my car fixed.I had a 2004 Sonata that was a complete piece of doo-doo. It had lots of problems throughout the two years I had it due to neglect from previous owners. Ive taken it to many different mechanics who have overcharged and screwed me over. Gearheads is by far the best mechanic I have taken it to. Ive dragged/towed the car to these guys on ATLEAST 6 different occasions and they have always fixed it within a reasonable timeframe and at a fair price. Unlike Firestone, they have been honest and have never recommend repairs I didnt need. I have since bought a better car and will continue to take it to Gearheads.Big thanks to Brad, Joel, and the mechanics at Gearheads.

Great shop, just joined the club for 50% off bay rentals. Plan on coming in whenever I need to do any car work. They have all the tools you need and if you cant find something just ask and theyll show you!

These guys were great. Ive been in twice and Highly Recommend owner Joel and Service Mgr Brad.First time, my LaCrosse had a wheel hub sensor issue. It couldve been very expensive. Because I didnt want to spend hours trying to diagnose the problem, then have to spend more on costly parts, I just asked them to take a quick look but not spend a bunch of time on it. I asked them to simply replace the parts.When I came back in the afternoon, they found the problem was a poorly made wiring connection. I was only charged for that. Id been expecting to pay hundreds o dollars. Instead I got out with a very small bill.Second time I went in to change my own oil. Because I was in and out so quickly, they gave me a bit of a break. Much appreciated!The shop seems to have a full array of tools, its conveniently located, the guys are very helpful and honest. Ive told a bunch of people about this shop.Thanks!

Automobiles play a large part in my life so working on them its a necessity they have several lifts tools Tech manuals online research basically everything you need to rebuild your car membership is reasonable and Lyft rates are reasonable as well staff is friendly and courteous

I have been a member for many years. They have increased the membership fee recently, but its still worth it.

Best place to fix your car. The owner of the shop is polite and very honest. I got my oil changed for 15$ and I had bought my parts for the job to be done.I definitely recommend this place for your auto problems.

I have a 1990 Miata that needs tlc. I was told my belts needed replaced by my tire guy. When I talked to Joel, I decided to take it in. They did a great job for a reasonable price. Very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. They explained everything to me. I will be taking my baby back there whenever she needs work.

I dont feel up sold or scammed. The prices are fair but they really can work on their customer service skills. Maybe a little more enthusiasm over the phone when booking the initial service? And a little heads up that they could not accommodate a ride after I dropped off my car. I asked about it at time of booking but the guy simply said we can worry about that when you get here. They applied a credit for the uber ride when I picked up my car but I still had to burden a friend to come pick me up when I dropped it off. Initial employee/mechanic didnt seem to want to be there. Maybe hire a friendly receptionist and keep the grumpy mechanics in the garage to do their primary job. 3 star because I dont feel ripped off.

Came here for a loose driveshaft on my jeep. They were very professional and they kept me informed of the whole process. When they couldnt repair the problem due to the ammount of damaged I had caused by driving on it they called around and got me an honest price. They were very helpful in letting me know that I could probably find a better price elsewhere if I shopped around. After finding one for around $600 less than the price that they had been told. They were more than happy to throw it in for me (which I expected to take all day like most places but it only took 4 short hours). Also Joel remembered my vehicle and problem personally even though he had plenty of other things to focus on.They are without a doubt the most professional, honest and quickest mechanics i have used. I will definitely return to them for any needs I have.

I brought my 99 Jeep Cherokee in to get my tires rotated and my breaks fixed. From past experience, I would have guessed that this would be at least a $500 repair. The guys at UFix it diagnosed the issues and broke it down with parts at a reasonable prices and at the end of the day it was under $200.
