This Ulta has came a long way in transforming into a go to delight. Unlike other Ultas. This place is clean and well lit. The Ulta in Escondido, had displays burned out. No lighting. Employees had no personality. Thats where this location really shines. You enter with a greeting. Restrooms were extremely clean. The Ora in this place creates a calm and upbeat environment. Employees are happy and content to each check out. I like this spots because they have a men section of colognes. This store stays consistent with stock. This Ulta needs to be the high expectation of all the other locations. Bravo! I want to give a direct kudos to the lady employee who came over to me and asked if I needed help. She gave me suggestions. She rocked! I felt appreciated and manly! Her name was Lyn and our cashier name was Monica! You guys rocked! The first thing you asked us was our number for points! Watch out other Ultas. This ones coming for you!!!

I havent been to Ulta Beauty in a long time. Everything is clean and covered theres theres good customer flow and plenty of room to social distance.Everything was neat and organized and the sales associates were super helpful and friendly. Plus they had the item I went there to get.I also received a birthday present how bonus is that? It was a good day at Ulta.

Terrible experience. I tried to return an item (original packaging, new condition and a RECEIPT). I was told that I cannot return it unless I will create an account with them. I don’t want to share my personal information. I’ve never used an account in Ulta before and never had any issues!!!! It was my last shopping experience with Ulta!

Noriko is an awesome stylist! She can do pretty much anything you need. She did a great job on my blonde and haircuts. I am moving away and I will miss her. Thank you so much!

I went in today and asked about an eyeshadow palette. The lady in the long black skirt never came back. She said she would go check and let us know. We waited for her in that same isle for over 10 minutes only to find her at the registers sorting samples. Great waste of time :)~ not the first time this has happened so I guess it’s my fault for coming back

Had the best hairstylist Lela Tamayo do my hair today. She was so knowledgeable and kind.My color is just what I asked for.The trim was was perfect, I will definitely be back. Hope she never leaves.

I was having trouble getting makeup that was stuck behind a marketing sign & I couldn’t find the other item I was looking for. I asked someone for help and they just pointed in the direction of where I could find it. I then asked Hannah for help. She not only walked me over to what I was looking for, but she also took apart the display so I could grab the makeup that was stuck. If it wasn’t for her, I would’ve walked out. Kudos to Hannah.

I haven’t gotten my eyebrows done since high school for prom (7years ago), Heather did such a good job on my friends eyebrows I wanted to get mine done. She nailed mine, they look symmetrical, not super thin, and I look more awake. I feel so good, I will definitely be returning. Thank you Heather, wish I could give you 6 stars.

I love that they have so many options of brands both regular and prestige cosmetics and hair products. I get my haircut here as well which is so convenient! They always have 20% off coupons or $3 off coupons which is great!

Some of the girls are so rude, once I ask for help at the cashier. I know that probably they were so busy but that doesnt mean that they need to be rude with anyone. (Not the first time)

They can have great deals on their products (especially their Ulta branded items), however I have had issues in the past with them being out of stock of special promotion items (including items that employees have said they never even ordered). The line can take a crazy long time too. I will say that my more recent experiences have been much more pleasant with everything I came to purchase being in stock and a much quicker checkout line to boot.

I freaking love this place... My fav. makeup diva is Emily. She hooks you up, and keeps it personal. We actually became good friends! Vanessa for eyebrows, she wont leave one hair out of place... For the salon I love Kat... She is the only one I let touch my hair not, and the first one I ever let color it. Love all 3 ladies, go pay them a visit...

Got a facial and a haircut. Very happy with both services. Plus all the employees are super nice and help a lot and find multiple different options for what you may be looking for.

Im a guy going in to buy my wife stuff. I go in looking for a VERY specific beauty serum. The employee says, Yes we have a product exactly like that one right here. I read the label and NO its not even close. If you dont carry it admit it. Imagine me coming back home and giving this to my wife. Not good for Valentines day.

I went to get partial highlights and I was charged extra on purpose without being notified. They tell you one price and it always ends up being more. They use extra hair gloss or hair dye (not sure the proper term) and they charge you without letting you know. It was embarrassing because I had budgeted exactly how much a partial highlight will be with gratuity included, but when I was told the actual price, I had to scramble for a proper tip. I even confirmed the price before sitting on the chair. The cashier apologized and I didnt want to cause controversy, so I just paid the bill. After all, it was the hair stylist fault for over charging. Please stop over charging without telling your customers ahead of time. It is unethical and bad business practice. I wont be getting my hair done at Ulta again.

Nice staff, theyre always very helpful, I took off one star because sometimes a lot of products are out of stock, also, I wish they carried more brands in store, but over all, I love shopping at Ulta

Hello. I just visited your store in Oceanside, off El Camino - June 1st 2019. It was the first time in over 10 years, as I typically buy from department stores. Luckily I was greeted by Mary. She was so helpful and it was the best experience Ive ever had with a makeup artist. She took her time not only explain the products but to apply them. I felt like I was getting a mini facial. It was such a good experience and I wanted to commend her for great customer service!! Ill definitley be going back for all my beauty needs!

For two years or longer Ive been absolutely blown away by results with my hair coloring! Two of my colorists became store managers and my on-going fear is that the current one will be moving on to a similar post. In the meantime, Im lovin every moment Im in the place ~ everyone is kind, helpful and extremely professional. I shop nowhere else for my cosmetics also as their rewards system is terrific!!!

My girlfriend and I had some time to kill so we went into here. We walked around and were greeted and asked if needed help around 3 times. It felt friendly. I was just letting my girlfriend browse and then she decides she might need a perfume so we look, test some out, boom she likes one. It is expensive, we walk around and think about it. She decided to get a smaller, portable version of it since we are moving soon and need to keep a tighter budget. When we get bombarded for probably the 6th time, lady on our right asks us if we need any help. No thank you - then boom another older lady asks us Are you guys suuuuuure you dont have ANY questions about any of the products? As if we were a nuisance or a theft risk. Very, very hostile and I cannot ever imagine me going to one of my customers and saying what she said in that same tone. WOW. On the way out I tried to see if she was nearby so I can let her know to relax, we paid for our item. Mind you, we are average looking people, early 20s, both have jobs, not loud, clean. Absolutely awful.

I got my hair done by Desiree and she did such an amazing job!!! Shes so professional and sweet. Highly recommend her.

I dont agree with the previous two reviews. This Ulta tops all others Ive been to, from Colorado to California. The staff is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the store is clean and well merchandised. I saw Vanessa for a great facial and spa experience, one that Id come back for even if the store wasnt so great! This store has my business as long as Im in the area.

I went in on 2/14 in the afternoon and had HORRIBLE service. I watched atleast 3 customers go up to the front where all the associates were gathered talking to ask for help. I also watched an older women come in and want to learn to do her brows, and the associates response was “ok well it’s not that hard”. In such a sarcastic voice. This is the closest store to me, but I will drive farther just to have better service.

Ok place....sales girls are pushy. We had to go back a few times to return items the sales girls swore it was perfect for my skin type and color 😭

Came in to get items I bought online that were damaged. The person who helped me, Erika (doubt she even gave me her real name) was very rude and when I called her out on her attitude she gave me an even nastier attitude and called her manager Amanda to assist me instead saying shell explain what happened to her later. I have been a sephora shopper and never had a problem with customer service like the one I received from this store today. I have been pretty satisfied with shopping at this store but mainly online until today. The manager and another sales rep had to take over with assisting me and apologized the whole time because of this girls bad customer service. Truly sephora is pricey and ulta has better deals but Id rather pay more than be treated like how I was treated today. The only reason Im not giving this a 1 star is because of how Amanda and the other sales rep handled the situation.

Oh my so many options in beauty products. So many it confused me. Kind of pricey.

Went in to get highlights and my hair lightened. Don’t think I’ll be coming back, my hair looks the same zero transformation other than the fact that it’s 4inches shorter which is another disappointment. My hair went down to my butt and now it is barely at collar bone. I paid $200 to get the hair that I wanted and got the complete opposite. Sarah you are sweet but my hair should not have been that much money for little stuff you did to it. Every time I’ve gone blonde it’s all in one sitting and I’ve paid less than $200. Sarah refused to work on my hair longer bc she had another appointment, so she rushed it and there’s literally no change whatsoever. I have never been so disappointed in my life. Not sure how you got a license. Not even sure why you would book another appointment knowing highlights take a long process. I have a lot of thick hair and usually my appointments run from 5-6hrs and she only did my hair for 3hrs bc the first hour she just played with it to see what she wanted to do even though she knew I wanted highlights but instead I got a bayalage that barely exists on my head. I’m so disgusted in the professionalism this place claims to have. Not professional at all. If I could give this experience a zero stars I would. I forgot to mention that she also kept yanking at my hair and my hair was falling out due to her yanking at it so much.

I had Chelsea (it might be spelled Chelsey) she was amazing. Truly friendly :) she fixed the haircut I got from a different salon and added gorgeous side swept bangs. Very sweet and patient with me especially when I kept asking for little preferences here and there. It didnt even take very long! I didnt have any wait time and I even showed up 10 minutes early. She did an amazing job and so timely :) she didnt push me to buy products either. She mentioned that a volumizer would be good for bangs before I blow dried them, but just as a tip, she didnt push me to buy anything or any brands which I really appreciate. I hate when other salons will push their products on me and make me feel like I have to buy something or my hair wont look good. The stylist I had genuinely cared about giving me tips :) its so hard to find a good hairdresser in a new area, but I was blessed to find this one!

They have some great stylist here. When im in town I love getting my hair done here.

I’ve been going to the Oceanside Ulta since it opened because I live down the street. I’ve only had a handful of good experiences there. Most of the time I don’t get approached even though it’s clear as day that I need assistance with something. The staff on the floor are usually busy restocking or they just don’t approach you, and the staff at the salon just stare at you or give you dirty looks. I would say the staff at the check out are usually more pleasant, although they always fail to tell you if you have points and almost always forget to put your “free gift,” if eligible in your bag. I wouldn’t usually write a review but I went to Ulta yesterday and spent 20 min in the NARS sections trying to find a concealer that matched me. I literally stood there and tried on 5 different shades and even took a mirror and checked the product in different lighting. I stared directly at a couple of girls and they turned their heads rather quickly and went back to organizing makeup. Hopefully I picked the correct shade. At check out, the girl gave me a sample of Becca Velvet Blurring Primer only to come home and realize the sample is empty. I kept pumping the sample and nothing was coming out so I opened it and there was nothing in it, haha! I realize this isn’t Ulta’s fault but it just made my last experience even worse. Anyways, I’ll probably still go back but only because it’s convienient.

I went to get my hair and makeup done and was told over the phone when i made the appointment that it was $50 for each and would come out to $100 all together. I ended up paying $130. My hair did come out nice but way over priced. My makeup came out horrible didnt look like the picture at all. I had to go home and fix my makeup myself.

I went to the Salon just want to ask for price of haircut and one of the hairdresser asked me if I have an appt. On top of it when I asked the lady if the coupon is allowed in the salon. She looked at me and said no like she doesnt know what Im talking about . This location has horrible customer service. They mail coupon but doesnt honor on particular products or services. Ulta just want you to spend, if so Id rather go to Sephora.

First time coming into the store and the cashier stared at me like she was better than me. She didnt look any good herself and gave me a face when I purchased a smash box liquid lipstick.

I am only giving another star instead of one even though I want to give one because the employees are actually very nice unlike the manager I feel bad for them. I have been going to this store for a long time recently I started acne medication and I wanted to test a sample of the mally foundation they have testers anyway but I wanted to see if it would work with my skin throughout the day. Sephora and Macy’s all give samples with no fuss and are kind about it, Clinique as well. Also, it’s not like I am not buying something I was. I got a sample from Clinique at this ulta but when I asked the manager (I could tell she was because she was reprimanding some other employee prior to this) and explained my situation she was condescending and said no then I told her that doesn’t make sense, she was somewhat nice at the end and described why they don’t . It’s frustrating because they would rather have you buy an expensive product makeup is an expensive commodity for you to take it back whether it was used or unused the whole process is frustrating and embarrassing. Now I won’t go to ulta but rather just purchase online if the product is only sold at ulta such as mally, Better off at Sephora & Macy’s!

Girls with curls beware! I’m a repeat ulta beauty shopper, however today was my first time using there salon services. I do not recommend them.I was quoted two different prices one when I made the appointment for a cut and straighten and then another price when the stylist was halfway done with my hair. The second price was only an extra $10 which was annoying seeing as how I did not receive the full service.I made the appointment for a cut $49 (should have included a wash, condition, cut, dry, and style) and straightening $10. I had washed my hair prior to the appointment so I did not take advantage of the wash or condition, after the stylist trimmed and dried my hair she gave my a different price for the straightening $20 at this point I was a little annoyed because I saved her time by waving some of the services I should have received, but whatever I figured $20 was worth not having to deal with the hassle of straightening it my self. She proceded to straighten my very curly hair without useing any straightening oil or heat protectent and by the time she was done I looked like a black mained lion. She left it puffy, frizzy and I had to fix it my self at home.In short this place is over priced for the horrible service they provide!
