UPDATE 09/15/21: 3 weeks later still waiting...08/25/21-Recently I have had to assist my elderly parents with some of their medical and financial affairs. I have been dealing with a few companies that have treated them very poorly. I am beginning to wonder if National Seating Mobility is one of those companies that deals with elderly people and gives them the run around. According to what my parents tell me, National Seating and Mobility has made promises, with no results. My parents have had problems with their power chair since day 1. I have been in contact with National Mobility for about 1 month attempting to resolve the latest problem.
I have M.S. and was in my thirties. I had a very nice lady come out and do an assessment (this was a while back, a year or so). She did measurements, checked my body posture, the whole nine yards.I was in contact with Rich Anderson, very nice gentleman. He delivered my power chair, the insurance paid for the bulk and the company took care of the coinsurance!! I was so surprised and started to cry. As I am on disability it was a true blessing! I love my chair, and I loved the people!
Beware of National Seating and Mobility! They will sell you things you dont need just to maximize their profit. We ordered a wheelchair for our son. We are new to this so we didnt know better, but they convinced is to get the power assist wheels (which our son will never use, due to his disability). It turns out those wheels are a $5500 option. There was no transparency in the ordering process. There was no communication from the company in the 6 months it took to get our chair. We called the office time and time again and left messages to try and get some information but got no response. We finally were able to reach someone in the Salt Lake office and they contacted the Ogden office. When we got the chair, the rep forgot the hardware we needed to fold it up. He said he would come back right away. We finally got it 4 months later. The employees are nice enough when you actually get in touch with them, but this company has been a nightmare to deal with. I will never use them again.
Our first house appointment was cancelled but not until 20 minutes into the appointment (when I decided to call the office to see what was going on). Our second appointment was great. He was attentive and it was clear he knew what he was doing. We discussed a list of items that needed repaired on the wheelchair. Five weeks went by and I didnt hear anything. I called the secretary who checked on the progress and she said nothing had been done (not even sent to insurance for approval). She sent a message. The next week I called again and still nothing had been done. I am feeling frustrated. I would rather a person tell me that they dont have time to help us and that we should go with someone else rather than lead us on for weeks at a time. I agree with the other review: the people are nice but they are not timely with their service.
I called the listed phone number all morning (6 times) with no answer so I drove up and arrived during their door posted closed time. They are closed from 12-1 so I couldnt get help on the phone or at their location.
Cannot recommend. There are some nice people here, but overall a very disappointing experience...ended up canceling order and continuing on without their service.
