I absolutely love this store. It got me back into reading books again. There is nothing like the feeling of having a physical book in your hand while your reading. The prices are truly amazing too. I purchased an entire series for less than $20. I am now a regular here. Also so many other cool stuff in the store too.

I love shopping at this store. The prices are great, they have a HUGE selection, and the staff is so friendly. Its always fun to come here and find new reads. I never feel like I have enough time here.

I needed the 4th volume of The Dark Tower series written by Stephen King, so I called Half Price Books. They not only had the book I wanted, but they also held it for me because I couldnt make it that day. They also had every additional book in that series, so I bought them all at a really fair price. I highly recommend this store! Great selection and prices as well as friendly and helpful staff. 10/10 will shop there again!

This place is an addiction. The rate for books you dont want isnt the best, but its a good way to get something for your stuff thats just sitting around. If you have a ton of books I would bring someone to help you because no one will help you with the front door and its a cluster. Love buying from here, they dont always have what Im looking for but its better than buying new.

People here are friendly and welcoming. Books and other merchandise in the store is super affordable. Selling books here is also super easy and enjoyable. I would recommend this business over any local place!

Its an amazing store! You can find the oddest books, along with the new with a great price if youre willing to browse for awhile!There is alot to find including out of print manga and graphic novels

Great store with a lot of selection of mostly second hand books, games, and magazines, (but also plenty of new ones!). Some bookshelves may seem slightly picked over sometimes, but they constantly get new items

This is a very well organized book store I try to visit every time I go to Omaha. The prices are great and the selection is unlike most other book stores I have visited

Each visit to this store is a new experience because the used inventory always changes. My son found a Pokémon book at a reasonable price. I opted for a history book about the 1935 assassination of Senator Huey Long and Life Magazines from 1967 and 1985 because I love seeing the old advertisements. They also had a good collection of personal fitness and travel books since I like nonfiction. A staff member was very helpful in pointing out which aisles had books and periodicals on our eclectic tastes.

Great selections at great prices. Found extra copies of a book for our book club, all in really good shape.

Tons of books. The shelving is vast with sections built to help you find what you’re looking for.

We went to Barnes and Noble last weekend. It was awful - packed full of people, couldnt find anything, the people were honestly not helpful at all. Ended up leaving without buying anything, while honestly understanding why they were losing locations.This weekend we got to come here (it was packed last weekend with a long line outside). Organized extremely well, easy to understand, great prices... I could easily see spending hours here. Ill definitely be back!

When people go to sell there book. They don’t give books price same time. They ask to come back after 45 minutes. After 45 minutes they offer you 2 to 3 dollar for 50 books. It is better to donate your book instead of standing in the line for long time and another 45 minutes wait

The prices were very reasonable for used items in very good to excellent condition.I also took about 40 non-fiction, novel and reference type books to sell. The selling process was very efficient. Their policy is to buy the entire lot that you bring, for a set price rather than Cherry picking. If your selling to raise cash, then first try the places that will pick out only the ones they want returning the bulk to you. My goal was to sell/ donate these books quickly,therefore I accepted their $15 offer for all items. Bottem line is the $15 was the value of a few of the items while the bulk had no monetary value to them at that time. Important to remember their stock rotates daily, according to what items are brought in, so same the books I brought in may fetch a different price another day.

Great store and is always a fun place to visit and see whats available when Im in town. I dont get to make it out to this one often, but when I do its good times since the amount of material there is solid. I will say I was a bit bummed on the low amount of comics this time around, but I understand its an eb and flow situation with what comes in. I look forward to my next trip there!

This is our favorite used book store in town! Great selection and if they dont have it they look online in their database and can usually find it! My girls LOVE coming here to look for new books!

I got here about every few weeks to update my book collections. They are very organized and clean. Friendly staff and very helpful!

Corbin was very helpful when I called in advance about the books I was looking for see did very well on searching for the books on the shelves. She was very nice and made my whole experience great when I came to pick up the books. I was extremely pleased with her service and her friendliness. She should be commended for her positive and helpful attitude.

Clean and well organized. We very easily found the pregnancy books we were looking for.

While Im inclined to provide any still existing brick and mortar book store with a 5 star on principal alone, my experience was lackluster at best. If I was rating the staff, for several of them itd be a 5 stars as well. Unfortunately I was there after speaking with somebody about selling used DVDs. Theres a Max of 50 a day? No problem. Youre going to have to wait in line behind other people? No problem. I was getting rid of only items I looked at myself with such a very high value on Amazon, and had estimated if all of them sold all at once they probably could fetch a minimum of $400 for my box based on current Amazon prices for used copies ( some were sets to popular television series, etc). I was quoted a dollar fifty for the whole box! Not per item, not for one item, not one hundred and fifty... but $1.50 for an entire box full of current, popular, and collectible DVD sets. I chose what to sell based not even on my personal taste, but off what I observed would fetch the most cash. Once I asked her to repeat the quote several times, I confirmed with her whether or not they actually sell online, or if they only sell theyre in the little store in Omaha. She confirms they do in fact sell on Amazon, so Im still having a difficult time understanding my quote. I certainly dont blame the staff for quoting as they are instructed, but surely EITHER warn people they will be quoted literal pennies-on-the-dollar on the dollar ahead of time, OR please be realistic with your offers! I wasted at least a cumulative hour or two of my time for absolutely nothing.

We took 50+ DVDs, many Blue Ray, to sell. After a 45 minute wait, they gave us $6. Most were in good to great condition. I will never return and I’ll let everyone know about my experience. I promise you they will be selling these DVDs for far more than they gave me. I honestly figured they were worth $1 each.

I havent been to Half Priced books in a few years but an acquaintance recently took a job there and recommended I pop in. I made a trip there today. Coincidently, I had a tub of IT-related reference books (Unix, Windows Server, Systems Admin, Web development) in the back of the car and decided to cart them in to have them give me an offer on them.While they examined my treasure trove of text books, I browsed around and picked up a handful of paperbacks & a Blu-ray movie.They have a good selection of used books, thats for sure. And plenty of movies at reasonable prices. I cant dispute that. And I give them props for friendly service.But their used book business is horribly inequitable.I figured they might offer me $10 to $20. I thought wrong. After 10 minutes or so they called me over to offer me ONE DOLLAR.I could have accepted sorry, we cant take these books, they wont sell. or We already have plenty of geeky computer books, we dont really need these.But offering someone a dollar for over a dozen reference books in excellent condition is insulting.It reminded me a lot of GameStops horrible trade-in program. They bought your games back for a few bucks and then re-sold them at half or more of the original price.I get it, maybe no one wants aging IT reference books and I would give them away to someone who asked for them, but offering me a buck after I lugged them in seemed like a slap in the face.No thanks.

As a bookhound, coming here is a must... Ive found a lot of awesome stuff over the years, and the occasional hidden gem... Prices are pretty good, service is usually not bad....

While I enjoy the selection, especially the selection on records- I do not enjoy the selling process.As a student I’ve brought in multiple textbooks and books to sell. I never had a problem with waiting for someone to price the books- I have never got anything from selling them. One time I was even told it was $1 for 3 textbooks on business. When I said “no that’s okay.” The staff offered to just take the books! I quickly said “no I’ll just take them with me” they looked disappointed.Would recommend- shoppingWouldn’t recommend- selling

Do not take your movies here they off u less then 10cent per dvd horrible place to sell or trade dvds vhs or games take my advice and save your time!

I enjoy coming to Half Price Books! Each and every staff member has always been helpful and kind. Most recently, I went looking for a classic book and it wasnt in the Center street store. So they ordered it for me and had it sent to my house with no extra cost. Im assuming that is how they handle every customer. I was very pleased! I recommend going to Half Price Books!

Good place to get reasonably priced books. Ive been disappointed with the clearance section recently... Its been emptied out since covid hit. Its like people are reading more or something.

Found some Manga books for my step son! Huge selection of books, games, toys, ect. One of kind shopping experience for all.

They definitely took half of my stuff and offered me a buck and when I declined and went to get my stuff back they still took half my stuff and didnt give me everything back so yeah they are not my favorite place anymore and wouldnt recommend it to anyone unless you want half or 3/4 of your stuff gone when you decline so yeah thats it have a good day 😁

GREAT SELECTION. Nothing better than a handsome old book. If you take the time to browse you can find some treasures in here. Ive bought several large, valuable collections. When I need help browsing the high shelves the staff are patient and attentive. I always tell myself Im just going to look today, and end up spending $100 or more.

Anytime I visit from Indiana I make it a point to stop here 💕

Friday, Oct 2, 2020My first time selling at Half Priced Books. The male associate at the door blocked me and my infant from entering, arguing w/ me saying I must wear a mask in order to enter the store, DESPITE me having a medical condition. Therefore, I’m not required by my doctor to wear a mask. So rather, I will respectfully follow the 6-foot rule. Apparently 6-feet apart isn’t good enough for Half Priced Books.By actual, real Nebraska Law, I do not need to prove my medical condition because it’s considered an invasion of privacy. I do not need to explain myself to some pint-sized man who works for the bookstore that blocks me from entering!. On top of that, 3 other associates I interacted with were snobby and rushed me out. Will not be returning.

Great prices and wonderful selection. Little shy on the engineering books but overall great experience.

The staff is friendly. The market for used books and DVDs has really dropped so when you take these into the store be prepared it will be a smaller amount you will get for them.

Books are great (5 star worthy) experience brings the score down a bit.
