The no line bifocals go up the outsides, so it destroys your peripheral vision. For martial artists, this was unacceptable. Luckily, they took them back and exchanged them for no bifocals right away.

I really had a great experience with Dr Konkel & all the staff @ ShopKo Optical, in Onalaska, WI! I had a complete eye exam & picked out new frames, for glasses, with the help of Rebecca! She guided me with stylish frames and her expertise & knowledge! LOVE my new glasses! I get so many compliments on my new glasses! I came in for an eye exam and to finally get new glasses after not wearing them for a while and even with slight technical difficulties with the exam room equipment both Rebekah and Jordyn were fantastic and kept their professionalism while handling the situation and got me what I needed and kept me entertained! Dr. Konkel always gets my prescription dialed in for best vision. Glasses are always made exactly according to prescription. Customer service is top-notch.

My first visit to Shopko Optical. I was very impressed with the precautions, service, location and staff, here. Could not have been better. The only time I have EVER gone for an optical exam, anywhere, that there was not a push to buy products that I didnt need. And, they did take the time to explain a new product that I was interested in. Highly recommend!

Great place for an Eye Exam. Dr. Konkel is very thorough. Large selection of frames. I was in and out in 45 minutes.

Since it is the start of the new year, there were some changes to my insurance which stopped me from continuing to go to Vision Works in Valley View Mall for my eye care needs (GREAT SERVICE AND EXTREMELY QUICK). Since my insurance had changed, I had to look around for other eye care places. I came across Shopko Optical; since I was in network, and it was closer to home then most places, I went in to get an eye exam and a pair of glasses. I went there on an early day in January. I checked out and after picking out a pair of glasses, I went to check out. The two service girls that were there pretty much fought about who was having to check me out to the point were I had to butt in a say, Im not picky on which one of you does it, as long as someone helps me check out. Finally got checked out and got my total (after insurance covers) my total was around $104. Not bad, I thought. They told me it was going to take some time until I was able to get my glasses back, which is completely understandable since they are custom. I received a call the following day from one of the managers that worked there stating that the girl that checked me out, never added on my copay exam fee. The manager told me that it would be another $10 when I came in to pick up my glasses. As he was telling me about the mistake, all he had to say was I have no idea why she missed this and didnt add it on. But I get it. Things get missed, no big deal.As time went on, I was continually excited to get my glasses back, so that I would be able to see clear again. One week passes....another week....then another. Still no call from the Shopko Optical Center about my glasses. After almost 4 weeks of being patient, I called them and asked about the status of my glasses.The service girl that had answered my call, then told me that the day after I had placed my order, it had been cancelled.I had asked her why my order was cancelled because I had never cancelled it. She told me that from the looks of things, I called the day after and cancelled the order. I told her that I never called them, they called me, and that nothing was said about a cancellation, but just an added on fee that they had originally missed. I also asked her, why I was never refunded for my purchase, if my glasses in fact had been cancelled. She then put me on a five minute hold. After getting back to me, she apologized for the misinformation and told me that my glasses are actually in. When I asked her when they had come in, she said THE DAY AFTER I HAD PLACED THE ORDER. I asked her if they were in, why did she tell me they were cancelled and also WHY DID THEY NEVER CALL ME TO TELL ME THAT?! (Obviously staying as calm as I can, because I dont believe in yelling in situations like this because I too have worked in customer service and understand making mistakes...but this?!)In the end all she had to tell me was that she was sorry and that my glasses are ready for pick up.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT SHOPKO OPTICAL. THEIR SERVICES ARE NOT IDEAL AND YOU CAN GET BETTER SERVICE AT ANY OF THE MALL EYE LOCATIONS!!!! Sorry for the long ranted post, but please read my experience, and DONT waste your time like I did!

The optometrist is only available a couple days a week. Trying to schedule an appointment around a normal work schedule is almost impossible.
