I hired Oregon Outdoor Lighting several years ago to light my front landscaping and steps. Recently I added additional pathway lights on the side of the house. I wouldnt have considered anyone else to do the job. I was especially impressed with Jesse, who has a great sense of lighting design and gave me a lot of bang for my bucks. I really liked his collaborative attitude. The quality of the lights they provide are top notch.One tip if you are a gardener and the lights are going into established landscaping -- dont be shy about working with Dan and Omar to prune back the plants yourself where wiring will go. Otherwise, they will do it with a shovel! Still, five stars and more for overall satisfaction.

Dan had my lighting system operating perfectly in a matter of minutes. The huge surprise was that Dan said that there would be no charge! I had a difficult time believing no charge as all other firms seem to charge $100+ for the visit, whether they do any work or not. I would highly recommend Oregon Outdoor Lighting to any person needing their services. Oregon Outdoor Lighting is absolutely top notch and a real breath of fresh air.

Oregon Outdoor Lighting has been fantastic to work with. Ryan came out and worked out how the lighting would enhance our landscaping. They use high quality lights (unlike the ones we started with) and their work is done quickly and hardly know they were in the yard. When we redid our driveway and walkways they suggested we light up out entrance steps. We loved the look.Winter 2021 was not kind as we had to remove nearly all out trees due to storm damage. Oregon Outdoor Lighting came out and removed the lights and wires so the trees and stumps could be removed. Despite loosing the trees we look forward to changing our landscaping and will again work with them on our new plans. Totally positive the yard will look great again soon.Everything they do is well done.

We met with Dan McMillan who walked us through the best options for our gigantic deck. He recommended far fewer lights than we had anticipated and assured us that the new technology would provide plenty of coverage. Lights were installed on schedule and they look spectacular! Wiring is very tidy and enclosed in copper tubing. And we do, indeed, have plenty of lighting. Dan and Oregon Outdoor Lighting was great to work with and we are thrilled with our new deck lighting.

I’ve wanted outdoor lighting for years on my pond and uplighting my cedar trees. Oregon Outdoor Lighting made this dream come true. Dan made the plan come to fruition and Garrett and Austin pulled it all together with expert, professional, friendly installation. This team of professionals worked with quality products, kept me informed throughout the process, and did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Who doesn’t love that! Our yard looks spectacular.After a brief power outage last night, our timer failed to re-set. I reached out to Dan and he returned today to get everything back in working order. Nothing but incredible customer service from start to finish!

High quality installation and products with great service

We want to give Outdoor lighting a five star rating. We had some unique lighting circumstances on our decks. Instead of traditional railings we used panels instead. Dan came by and looked at situation and knew right away how to address the best way to provide the right kinds of light. It was not just a matter of throwing a light on the deck, which was what we were thinking. There were other considerations that we had not thought of: the angle of light, distance of light from panel, the spray, the intensity of the bulb, the number of lights. Any change in any one of these areas created a whole different effect. Dan knew how to make these fine adjustments and worked with us patiently to find the right look. Furthermore, he set all of this up a night, as he said there was no way to make these adjustments and see the results in the daytime. So he was able to set it all up at night so that we could live with lights. Dan left them there about a week and there was absolutely no pressure along the way to make a sale. We did end up buying them: half down and half later. Austin and John, the install guys, did a real professional job of installing the deck lights; all the light boxes and wires were well hidden so there was no obvious intrusions when looking at the lighted deck. They were good explainers of how to take care of the light system and how to work the timer.Little did we know that deck light done right could have such huge impact on the outside house appearance. Outdoor Lighting is certainly worth a call to show you what they can do, and so easy and no sales pressure.

One of the best contractor experiences I have ever had! I have been in some form of construction my entire life and have worked with hundreds of sub contractors and never have I been so impressed! While not the cheapest solution, I have and will continue to highly recommend OOL for outdoor lighting needs.

I have been upgrading my backyard landscape for a number of years and the final touch was the lighting. Dan at OOL came out and listened to what I needed and returned with a DEMO set up a couple of days later. Dan Mackenzie came out to our house and explained everything we needed to know in detail. We were happy with the install of the crew that came out as well. The reminder calls we got in between were very helpful. Dan also came out during the install to make sure all was going well and then afterwards to make sure we were pleased. Oregon Outdoor Lighting is an exceptional site lighting company. Ryan came to our property for a lighting presentation and later, brought us various fixture samples for our HOA board to make a final decision. He answered all of our questions about warranty and repair. When we decided only to do safety lighting and develop our own plan for the layout, we were assured that we could add more dramatic lighting around the property at a later time. During install, Jacobs team hit an irrigation line and immediately took care of repair and quickly responded to our questions. The site and sidewalk look great. I would highly recommend this company and work with them again!

Ours was a small project compared to the large-scale ones I believe are their bread and butter. Neither Dan, our lighting consultant, nor Garrett and Joe, our install guys, ever treated us like anything but important customers. The install guys arrived efficiently early, so they could begin work at first light. They were friendly but focused, consulting us on placement and logistics of our path lighting, and never appearing annoyed at our hovering. They had to install wiring in a native plant bed, and were careful about where they walked. And then, after the lights were installed, Garrett programed the lighting and dousing of lights (a bonus we didnt expect). We love our new lighted path, not only because of good work, but especially because we were able to choose lights that combat light pollution!

We were very happy with our experience with Oregon Outdoor Lighting. They perfectly executed on what we described, and we were very happy with the results. We have a couple of paths in a terraced back yard, and wanted to be able to see the rock walls along those paths as ribbons of light from our deck, and they provided this beautifully.

I had this company install new outdoor lights to illuminate my grounds and to add a bit of spark to my house. Boy! Did they deliver. Id talked with the company before they came by and asked them to just do the work without my supervision.From my first phone call to them until my last call and dealing with them they have been superb! Better than even I could have dreamed. The layout was well thought out, and accentuated our property beautifully!!I struggled for years with my landscape lighting....I am very much a do it yourself guy. I really wanted to meet this group after I had reviewed many outdoor lighting companies. There was no decision to be made except how many lights we could do for this project. The fixtures we chose were the 20yr fixtures. Super value for the dollars. The installers George and Hayward were awesome, hard working, and punctual. We couldnt be happier with our decision. Our home had existing outdoor lighting that was failing. Many of the fixtures didnt work and replacing the light bulbs for the ones that were working was a huge consumer of our time. We live in the country and the roads can be very dark. In a year where its been tough to schedule contractors in Portland, Oregon Outdoor Lighting was a welcome surprise. Kyle responded immediately to my inquiry, showed up that week to check out my job and give me an estimate, and came back in the evening so my husband and I could evaluate the quality of the LED light - which is GREAT, warm and lovely, in spite of my initial skepticism. OOD had good choices to fit my budget and style requirements and the install was flawless - on time, completed as scheduled, and most amazing of all the install did not do a bit of damage - NONE! - to our landscaping. I needed some pathway and deck lighting for a remodeling project I had completed to convert a daylight basement in my house to a separate apartment. Kyle and everyone at Oregon Outdoor Lighting were knowledgeable and professional, from the design phase to completion. I had no experience at outdoor lighting except some basic do it yourself type work I had done years ago. The crew came in and followed the plan perfectly, came at the promised time, and anticipating that I might need additional lighting, had items in the truck so they could complete my request that same day. The pathway and deck lighting have helped make my new Airbnb apartment a very popular place to stay. It looks elegant and performs just as Kyle said it would from dusk to dawn. Four years ago, Oregon Outdoor Lighting Installed 26 low-voltage lights fixtures to uplight the trees along our driveway and around our yard.  They installed two control systems, one on each side of our driveway.  The trees that line our driveway are very mature Cherry trees with thick root systems, so extra care was required to run the wire under and around the roots to avoid damaging the trees.First they scheduled a night-time demo with us and we placed the initial order.  They came out a week later and spent a whole day installing the lights.  The light fixtures are rugged, the brightness and color are excellent (looks like halogen even though these are LED lights).  The lights come on automatically at dusk, turn off at mightnight, and use just 234 watts total (nine watts per light).  The whole yard lighting takes as much electricity as about four normal 60-watt bulbs.On their own, they scheduled a night-time follow-up visit to walk the yard with us.  We saw a few lights that would look better with slightly different positioning.  They followed up a few days later with another service visit to move the lights.  Then, another night-time walk-through to make sure we were happy.  They would not accept until all of the adjustments were complete. After two years ago, one of our kids ran over a light with a bike and they came out and fixed it with no charge.Its been four years and were still incredibly happy with our purchase and this company.

Oregon Outdoor Lighting sent me a brochure indicating that they were re-opening their branch in Eugene. Since I used them to install my original landscape lighting a few years back I was glad to have them do some much needed maintenance.However, after numerous calls to them to try to set this up, Ive been unable to get any response. They took down my number and told me that I would be contacted.So Ill go with somebody else because if they cant get it together to respond to several calls, what else will they drop the ball on?Revision: Oct 15, 2016:Oregon Outdoor Lighting responded very nicely to my review, and said that they have taken steps to address the problems I experienced. I will consider them for future maintenance needs.

Although our lighting needs are modest compared to some of the spectacular lighting installations Oregon Outdoor Lighting creates for expansive estates and commercial endeavors, everyone at OOL makes us feel like we’re their most important client. OOL came, quoted, and executed professionally and personably. The actual repair came out to less than the quote. As a courtesy, they rearranged loads to tune the system load for LEDs, rather than halogens.We will definitely use them again.

A few years ago we had Kyle and OOL install a substantial number of outdoor lights in our yard. They did a fantastic job and everything looked great. Last year we had some work done in the yard and two of the lights were broken. It took me six months (yes m-o-n-t-h-s) the get OOL to replace them. This was after numerous repeated calls none of which were returned (except the last one) because someone finally respondedand got the lights replaced. Then the lights were not the same and I was told ...they just look different. This issue is still unresolved OK now I am in need of a replacement LED bulb. The type of bulb needed is not available locally. I spoke with Kyle two weeks ago. At my request he said that he would send me three in the mail. I have not received them nor have my phone calls been returned. In the beginning the business seemed to be responsive to customers but now I have serious doubts about the commitment they have to their customers. If you are considering outdoor lighting I would make the suggestion to not get them and secondly if you really need outdoor lighting consider OOL if you want a good job done up front but think about the long term investment you have and what your needs will be down the line as the system needs maintenance and repair. Look at each business and their track record. I am not pleased with OOLs track record...Addendum: Shortly after posting this review I received a call from Kyle. We discussed the issues involved. Kyle apprised me of the changes that are being made at OOL to address these and other issues and assured me that I can count on OOL to follow through with their commitment to their customers in the future as a result of the changes. Within 24 hours two technicians arrived to take care of some of my systems issues and I look forward to them following up to address the remainder in short time.Addendum 6/23/2017: OOL has made significant changes in their customer service process. Also in the manner in which they provide needed service for the lighting system. I feel that an upgrade in the star rating is deserved and appropriate.
