Great place..I cant wait too move down here...love the range
Great place to go and find what you want. If they do not have it they will order it in. I like the Action Pistol shoot held on every third Sunday. The range is nice. By far better than some others I have been to.
Best Gun Shop I have ever been in. Amazing to be found in a little small town. The range is top notch, classes and instructors are knowledgeable and fun. Will get you anything you want (or can afford) just ask them. Great selection in house and good pricing. Tim and the guys are fair and honest. Both qualities hard to find in businesses these days. Will not go anywhere else to get a weapon, ammo, or for my hunting needs. As for the google user review that was poor. You must be a dick if they didnt treat you like family. Wish I could delete his post. Dont let it sway you, give them a chance and Im sure the guys will impress you.
This WAS a good little gun shop years ago when they first got started. Nowadays their prices are ridiculous and they will only pay you a small fraction of what something is worth if they will even buy it at all. Customer service has gone from bad to worse. The range is okay, but overpriced to use. When I first went to the Gun Guys years ago they were a small shop in the corner of the Town and Country store south of town. Back then the customer service was good and they werent nearly as greedy as they are now. They didnt have the range back then, but I would gladly do without the range to have that gun shop back again. Until that customer service returns and they become less greedy, I will no longer be doing any business with them. If I want to get ripped off, I can go up to the city and do that and have a much better selection.
I have been dealing with Tim & Marty since they were in Town and Country. I find them to be fair, honest, & overall GREAT people to do business with. Their indoor range is the best I have ever been in, and I have been in a few. I will continue to do business with them as long as I can. I cannot believe the review that slandered them. I would take it with a grain of salt. Thanks,Mark
Completely different experience than Dylan. The cost to shoot here seems reasonable, plus you can bring your own ammo. My wife & I try to go in once a month for practice. The staff has not given us a problem to date. We have bought several firearms here and is our goto place for any gun/gunsmith needs.
Love the staff. Great quality shooting range at an affordable price. The Gun Guys have a good selection of firearms and accessories. Have given high praise to many friends.
Friendly staff but way overpriced bought a scope and paid 150 more then anywhere else but couldnt wait so I allowed them to fleece me but will definitely plan ahead in the future so dont have to buy from them if I couldve waited the scope I bought for 699 I could have gotten for 449 from optics planet and the tru glo I paid 139.99 and could have gotten it for under 100 so if you are not impatient you can save alot of money buy shopping other places
For a town the size of Ottawa, this is a great little gun shop and indoor range. Sure beats shooting outside in KS winters and cold spells. Everyone that I have dealt with at this location is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, The range is a 6 lane range with lights, heat and traveling target adjustment. Great for honing distance skills or teaching new shooters the basics. Range is monitored by cameras as well as an occasional walk through. They run a couple of local competitions each month for rim fire and center fire. I have shot the rim fire and am looking forward to shooting the center fire soon.
The staff has changed from time to time. Some were very unfriendly and some even ignorant, and the range is pretty expensive even for a member so I only did the membership for a year and decided it wasnt worth it given you still have to pay to go each time rather than a flat yearly fee. Pretty small too at only 25 yards max and if memory serves about 5 lanes wide. Granted it is down town so I dont hold that aspect against them. Their part time gun smith (Colby or something) seems to know his stuff but is hard to get ahold of and can get backed up a few weeks. But if you need something fixed that is beyond typical maintenance he can get it done it would seem. With that said they are good about letting you barrow equipment such as eye and ear pro if you dont have your own. IIve even rented a gun a few times if I felt like shooting something different than what I brought myself. Most of the time, I dont feel watched too carefully which is nice. Other than some crazy lady came in reading arbitrary rules passive aggressively while i was zeroing a new sight I had just paid too much for from them and it was so far off I had to move my target back 5 meters so I could hit the paper and know where to make adjustments (support local business blah blah). In short Ive found other facilities that are much cheaper with more room to stretch out. Granted gun guys is pretty lax on arbitrary rules beyond the common sense ones. And when they put a leash on their staff it can be pretty pleasant. But they dont really get my business anymore mainly because they need to rework their membership system.
Got there prior to opening and didnt realize it. The doors and lights where on but it was just a conceal and carry class in the conference room. Went to gun counter to ask about buying two hand gun holsters,i was told they arent actually opened and i needed to leave.I would hope my new employees would do the same and I support that. I waa 30 mins prior to opening and the class looked to been going on for a few hours. My problem is both owners where sitting by register and the office desk 5 from me not participating in anything staring at me. Both i have bought guns and holsters with and know. I always pay cash and Im willing to pay extra to support local guys but if u cant give me couples minutes to buy them or say something cause your making that much money or dont care, than I dont need to waste paying extra for something thats priced cheaper some where else. I probably will be in there again but just when its a convience purchase only due to no where else to go.
Best gun shop Ive ever visited. A great place - they have everything you need and wonderful staff. Also have some really good classes that I would recommend to anyone looking to learning more about shooting and gun safety.
Great little home town indoor range. They support leagues as well as fun shoots for the whole family. They have a wide selection of weapons, and assorted gear. The best part is if they dont have it in the store, they will bend over backward to order it or get it in. Try that with the big box stores.
This gun shop is a great addition to what is otherwise a relatively small town in a fairly rural area. They have reasonable prices on firearms, reasonable ammunition prices (given the context of being this far from Kansas City) and a solid gunsmith who delivers when promised and usually at a better value than expected. Not sure what the other reviewer was referencing, but I am a regular customer, have bought a gun here and had a lot of gunsmith work done here. In my experience, this is not a cliquish place. Sometimes when you walk in the door, there are groups of guys shooting the breeze when the shop is empty, but that is just the kind of small-town service environment you can expect here.
Outstanding people. Wonderful place to shoot. Far and away the friendliest gun shop Ive been to. Thanks!
Got a Remington 700 308 chopped, recrowned, and threaded. The staff didnt talk much but were fairly polite. When I first called and asked the gunsmith said itd be about $150 total. Picked it up and the bill was $193. Wait time was well over a month.
Ordered my gun on thier website at 9:44am Monday! Called them at 10:15am Monday to ask about how long it would take to arrive, an was told it would be Friday, maybe Monday or Tuesday. Got a call Wednesday 1:30pm said come get your gun! The staff were polite not overly friendly not rude, just buesy-ish. Hey they did thier jobs! Thanks again The Gun Guys!
Great place to let off some rounds. Friendly and helpful to both new experienced shooter.
Great range and great competition matches. Best in Ottawa. Wide selection of guns and ammo, and great repair work and mods.
Great shop great gun store good staff and if they dont have it they know how to get it and get it quick
Great people, cleaning and modern shooting range, and reasonable prices on guns and supplies.
Great group of guys! Had a blast at their action pistol shoot!
My friend went here recently for some gun safety training and she said these guys were very helpful.
Great staff and nice range. If they dont have something they can usually get it for you.
Friendly small town gun shop. Great doing business with them.
Great staff, nice range, lots of fun shooting events.
Nothing but good things about their indoor range from acquaintances, however, it has been reported by numerous people that these guys camp out at Walmart and buy-up all their .22 ammo, then try to sell it for a huge profit in their store. From one post on Facebook 50$ for 500 rounds of Golden Bullet. 60$ for a box of federal Standard Velocity 500 rds. they have tripled the price of all .22lr rounds and are charging 1.5x the cost of other rimfire rounds.Just thought this information should be noted. Hopefully, anyone who might want to shop there for ammo does their research on what ammo SHOULD cost before deciding to give these folks their patronage.
Reasonably priced, great service, and a pretty nice range.
Great place to shoot and chat.
