One of the best things I found about Stevenson Transfer is the fact that they will come pick up your furniture & then store it until you are ready for it. You pay for storage of course, but they take exceptional care of your furniture & boxes of belongings in the meantime. This all is counted as one move, so you arent paying for the move to the warehouse & then again from the warehouse to your new residence. The employees from office to movers are all very professional & courteous. No wonder they have been in the business for several generations. I highly recommend them.

We used Stevenson Transfer for a local move and had a great experience. The crew was careful and courteous the entire time working non stop through thunderstorms, heat, and a power outage. We needed help unloading heavy furniture from the borrowed moving trailer. They were great and made everything so easy!!! They knew how the pop the backs off the heavy recliner sofa and move it in so much easier than us middle aged ladies could have done. Worth every penny! We will definitely call them again when we need any kind of moving help! They were a dream to work with!

They did a great job moving a piano for us, incredible care and they were extremely fast. Called them later to move a heavy table, and it was the same: they were right on time, very professional, communicated clearly, the whole job was done quick as a wink. I also appreciated that they wore their masks when they came into my home.

To be clear - they were not the cheapest bid, but honestly? They werent the most expensive, either. They were right in the middle. The team was fantastic, there was no guess-work and we knew exactly what to expect with every step of the move. We used Stevenson to pack us up - which Im grateful we did. Their crews of professional movers always wore masks, followed very rigorous safety protocols and everything arrived safe and sound. And they even were able to deliver everything one day early! We used Stevenson Transfer for two long-distance moves within one year: once when we moved from Chicago to Denver, and again nine months later when we realized Denver was NOT for us and moved back to Chicago. Thankfully, Stevenson made these very stressful processes far less so by being a dream to work with.Blindly searching for a long-distance mover is always a gamble, but Stevenson had good reviews and their office staff, Angie and Lorna, were very communicative and quick to respond when I first inquired about working with them. Before the first move, someone came to assess our place and what we were planning on moving in order to provide a very accurate estimate. Due to this level of service, we decide to hire them for our move.In the time leading up to the move, their office was on top of everything, reaching out to me to confirm addresses, times, loading dock access, etc. before I could even worry about chasing them down to coordinate logistics. On the day of the move, their foreman, Kevin, was right on time with a crew of movers who quickly got to work wrapping our furniture and loading up the truck. At no point did we see anyone being reckless with our belongings or feel like they were stalling to get more hours in. We took a few days to drive out to Colorado, and Kevin (who was driving the truck) was available via text or phone the whole time. He was at our new place exactly when he said he would be, and the new crew he was working with on this end quickly unloaded the truck and set up everything to our specifications.When we decided to move back to Chicago I was worried Stevenson wouldn’t be available for our move as they are not based in Colorado and I would have to do the blind search for movers all over, but I took a chance and reached out to ask, and they were more than happy to move us again and didn’t charge us anything extra for not originating in Chicago this time. We even had Kevin as our foreman again, who remembered us and was just as great to work with a second time around. Everything with the second move went just as smoothly as the first one, from the office staff communicating and coordinating to the moving crew doing the heavy lifting.Now that we are back in Chicago to stay, we plan to use Stevenson for any local moves we may do in the future. But hopefully not for at least a couple of years; we’ve had enough moving adventures to last us a while.

I contacted Stevenson based on the excellent online reviews and had a great experience. From the time Bill came to our home to do the estimate in Chicago until Dave, my crew chief, drove away after delivering in Denver, I honestly didnt spend a second worrying about our stuff. I just knew I was in great hands. They were extremely careful with our possessions, worked tirelessly for hours, delivered in Denver right on schedule, and were just a pleasant group of people. I thought the price was very reasonable - and I even got a refund at the end when the weight of our stuff came in a little lower than Bills estimate.

I had a large China hutch to move along with a smaller cabinet and a few misc boxes. But mainly the China hutch - it belonged to my motjer. Very big, very heavy. Wouldnt fit in the front door, had to go through the kitchen. The 3 men that came were wonderful. Professional, efficient and nice. Really nice. So worth the cost. I highly recommend this company.

They treated us like family, from the initial estimate through the packing/loading/unloading process. We received helpful, responsive service from the office staff as well as the moving crew - which helped alleviate the stress of an interstate move after living in our home almost 30 years.

This is the 2nd time in 3 years we have used Stevenson Transfer. We would never think of using anyone else! Mike Stevenson, the owner, is actually the one to come out to your home to estimate the cost of your move. He is so friendly and kind and very professional. We had our quotes pretty quickly. Lorna in the office sent us an email detailing every aspect of our move. For this last move, we even came in under weight and got a small check back. Every little bit helps! I had to call Lorna and email her with questions, and she was always prompt with a reply. Our previous move was a few miles down the road, so we only used their moving service. Unfortunately, we underestimated the amount of stuff we had and needed a 2nd truck and crew. I was so upset not expecting this additional cost, even though it was totally our fault. Bill Stevenson, Mikes dad, actually came out to our house to assess what was going on and only charged us for the extra truck and not the extra manpower. He even pitched in wrapping some last minute things for me on his own! Talk about customer service! This last move was out-of-state, so we needed packing and moving service. Both crews - Dave, Shane, Mark, Bill and Kevin - were so friendly and efficient. They wrapped all our belongings with extra care. They obviously took pride in their work and it showed. Shane is the fastest wrapper Ive ever seen! Both days the guys were here, we chatted and talked like we were all old friends. Again, so friendly and courteous, yet very efficient. This move we had a couple things that got bumped around, but Dave, the driver, took pictures and immediately sent them to Mike. They apologized profusely and totally owned taking care of things for us as far as getting things fixed for us. What other company does that? Everyone should, but that doesnt always happen anymore. I think that alone, offering to fix things immediately, speaks loudly of their professionalism and business ethics. I thank them all so much - Mike, Lorna, Dave, Mark, Shane, Bill and Kevin - for moving us TWICE to our new home and, for their awesome customer service. I would HIGHLY recommend them in a heartbeat!

From the minute I called to get information from Angie to Mike coming out to give us a quote, til the actual move...service was outstanding! Mike actually came out a second time (which was an 90 minute drive and he had to go to 2 houses) to quote because we kept adding items to our move.I have used Stevenson Transfer for several local moves but wasnt sure if they did more than local moves. We used Stevenson Transfer with our move from Chicago down to Orlando and could not have been more happy with the moving process. From the beginning Angie was super responsive to our questions and was kind enough to send a rough estimate over so we could compare quotes from different vendors. Bill, our cost estimator, was extremely friendly and his estimate was on point. We actually sold some of our furniture after the estimate and the weight came in under so we received a credit! Lorna was our move coordinator and would communicate with us frequently to give us a status on where our items were and the estimated delivery date. The entire process was a breeze. I was worried that a cross-country move would cause me a lot of stress but I didnt stress one bit and it was all in part to hiring Stevenson Transfer as our movers! I highly recommend!!
