I was helped by Priscilla and had an amazing experience from start to finish. It was simple picking out glasses based on what I normally get to getting something new and fresh. Pricing was great, they took my insurance and order came in extremely quick! They also had glasses for my 4 year old son which is impossible to find in store! We ordered his as well! Great experience, great store and extremely great staff!

This was my first visit to FamilyEye Care clinic and I was very impressed. They had easy to follow procedures for arrival during the COVID pandemic. New patient paperwork was brief and easy to complete. I was taken back to the exam room before my actual appointment time. Staff were very personable and professional. Dr. Kane was great. He explained what is going on with my eyes as I get older. I was interested in getting contacts for the first time and he walked me through my options. I highly recommend Dr. Kane and his team.

My first visit was today. From beginning to end, it was a very positive and professional experience. From the young lady that answered the telephone when I called to let them know I was there, to the awesome lady that helped me choose my frames! We love the service at Family Eyecare Clinic. We went in today to have my sons nose pads looked at and they were fixed up quickly and the technician was super nice. The office is always very clean and they have high levels of adherence to Covid protocols.

Customer service is terrible. Painesville Family Eyecare rarely answers the phone and routes customers through an innefective automated system. The automated text message system acknowledges your phone call. They have not returned my phone call on two separate occasions, when Im trying to give them business.

If I could give negative stars I would. At the time of my actual appointment everybody was very nice and everything was great the examining doctor was very professional and very kind. However this was a workers comp case and somebody somewhere along the line made a mistake, didn’t get something done didn’t send over the proper paperwork and I had a bill sent to me when it was supposed to go to the insurance. Mind you this was quite a few years ago and I was deemed responsible because the workers comp agent or an attorney didn’t send something in. I’m an injured worker I make a very small fraction of what I used to make I’ve been going back-and-forth with a Jennifer who apparently is the manager there and the billing person. She gave me the runaround for about two years telling me she was gonna do this she was gonna do that telling me she’s gonna call me back and never called back. So I’ve been calling pretty frequently lately finally got her on the phone not because I asked for her but because the person at the front desk apparently had to go through her to speak to someone else who was in charge. She quickly grabbed the phone, mind you while I was waiting to speak to someone else who wasn’t her. She yelled at me gave me a horrific attitude said a bunch of really mean things was not nice about anything she said, let alone professional. It was the least professional thing I had ever heard anyone do or say. Then she hung up on me. She was clearly upset. I highly doubt that myself and my current situation is what made her so upset. I’m assuming she was upset at something else, however this woman was unnecessarily rude this is not how you run a business whether you’re upset or not whether there’s something going on in your home life you don’t bring it into work and take it out on a patient. There is no way somebody could’ve gotten this furious with me asking for them to contact the collection agency and please remove it from my credit report it’s a measly $115 it means nothing to them. I’m at a point in my life right now where because of Worker’s Comp. I don’t make much money and I live on a very fixed income. As opposed to possibly just taking a hit charging it off because I don’t have the money to pay so you can either wait 4 years and get zero dollars and be the villain and keep that on my report and still get zero dollars. Through no fault of my own I was billed. As workers comp cases go I’m not responsible for any of the bills, but the way she handled it was ridiculous. All I asked was if they dug deep and found it in their heart to get it off of my report 100 measly dollars, an amount of money that is embarrassing to admit that I cannot afford to pay at this point in my life. She is clinging very tightly to every penny. What goes around comes around and there will be a time Jennifer where you’re going to be in not the greatest position and you’re gonna need some help and it’ll be the kindness of someone else to change what they normally do that is going to make the difference. Not only do I not understand why the owner (which is not Jen she’s just a billing person and I guess some sort of manager there who clearly never had training) would tell me he is going to take care of it and then have my review removed from google. Either way I digress, that woman Jen is absurdly rude she’s never been nice to me she’s been a rude human since day one when I initially contacted her years ago. Apparently today she was just very upset and she couldn’t find it in her heart to speak to me like a professional adult, although at the end of the day the decision isn’t up to her I’m assuming. I will be calling back and I would very much like to speak to the owner or whoever is above Jennifer because I know Jennifer does not own family eyecare. This is ridiculous I don’t like the way she made me feel the way she spoke to me and then to end it all and just hang up on me. I was told this issue would be resolved but instead my review was removed. Nice way to handle it. It’s okay, I simply reposted 😉

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Kane since he took over the practice from Dr. West many years ago.Dr. Kane is the best around, along with his staff!!If you are looking for a great doctor, look no further, you wont regret it!!

Greeted immediately and cordially, ready for me as soon as I finished brief paperwork. Pre testing clearly explained, carefully performed, same with exam. Results well presented. Comfortable environment, wonderful staff. Excellent practice! That was my 2020 review.A year later and experienced the same excellent service and cordiality, received assistance updating my info on their new kiosk system. Same fine pretesting, and thorough exam and explanation of changes in my vision by Dr Kane. Very considerate and thoughtful help selecting and being measured for new frames. I strongly recommend this practice!!

The staff at Family Eye Care make appointments easy! They are knowledgeable. They are patient with my son, answering his questions and making him feel comfortable. Dr. Kane is thorough and cares about my sons health. Many of my friends recommended Family Eye Care and now I do, too.

L went in for my annual eye exam, that is covered thru my AETNA vision insurance. Dr. Kane or his staff made no mention to redirect my billing charges, thus incurring out of pocket expense. Very deceitful business.

Much more than a vision screening; I walked out knowing that the entire health of my eyes was addressed. Since then, Ive entrusted FEC with my familys vision...and Im so glad I did.

My wire frame broke as I was trying to adjust it. That was mid noon on a Saturday. Went to the Family Eyecare Clinic to ask if they can fix it or replace the prescription lenses using another wire frame I had. Holly was most professional and helpful in swapping the frames in a jiffy. No charge! She and other office staff are exceptional. I would highly recommend this group of doctors and other professionals to anyone looking for eyecare services.

My family of 3 have been customers for more years than I can remember.... yes, a long time... My 18 year old daughter recently forgot her contacts at college... I called and asked if they could SELL me a couple pair of trial lenses in this emergency situation. I was told since my daughter was not seen in a little over a year and half, that they would not do this until she had an eye exam. I told the person I was speaking with that due to an unexpected surgery, my husbands insurance flexible spending was used up for 2014 (todays date 12/15/2014)... so I was unable to come in until the new year (two weeks). She basically told me I was SOL...and they couldnt help us out until my daughter had an eye exam. I then said, Id try 1800CONTACTS and hopefully theyd help us out...she said that if 1800CONTACTS calls them, they will tell them my daughter doesnt have a valid prescription. Basically too bad, so sad - nothing they will do to help us until our daughter comes in for an exam ($$). I then called back and left a message for Dr. X and said I would like our records sent to our home as we would be finding another optometrist that would be more accommodating in an emergency. Dr. X called me back almost immediately and said he would send the files, but didnt understand why there was a problem since our vision insurance covers one exam per year at no charge. He said to bring my daughter in the next day and she would get an exam and there would be no charge. He would then give her 2 trial pairs of contacts with the new prescription. ...and we could order the contacts in the new year (2 weeks for now)...when our flexible spending money kicked in. So, long story short, I brought her in and after the exam, we are told we owe them $75 for the exam. I paid the money, and believe me, it was worth paying the bill to never to have to set a foot in that place again. I felt DR. X misled me. His office assistant was unaccommodating...and they lost 3 long time customers that spend a lot of money on premium eye wear (Ray Ban, Gucci, Transitions lenses, etc). If you want to be treated like this in an emergency, go to Family Eye Care Clinic, Im sure you will get a good eye exam in their fancy, brand spanking new office. But, Ill take my business to a place that I feel values its long time customers and treats them right. Would have like them to say, sure, Ill SELL you a couple pair of contacts to get you through until we can see you in two weeks. lets make that appointment NOW... But, instead, they lost our business over those 2 pair of trial lenses that I was willing to pay for. Hope it was worth it to them. BTW: The first of the year, I will be making appointments at a new optometrist - they will get our business for 3 new pairs of premium eye wear and lenses - as well as 2 exams (since DD had hers already)... thats at least a couple thousand dollars worth of eyeglass frames, lenses and examinations... too bad, so sad.

Had a 645 apt there first apt of the day arrived 10 min early wasnt called back to the exam room prior to my departure at 705. 20 min behind on there first exam of the day really, must not realize other people work. Further more my wife and I have same insurance she was charged $70 for an exam I went to Lens Crafters and was charged $50 for the same exam. Contact prices are 2x the price of the contacts on the internet they compile discounts to make you seem they are a deal when in turn they are not. Not a fan of this place

Bad customer service. Bought a Nike frame....went to get the frame fixed only after 2 weeks and was asked to pay $50. One of the lady told me that I had tempered with the frame myself. They finally fixed it for $25. Never going back.
