I experienced a burglary/assault and did not have a reliable firearm near me at the time. I came in to drop a lot of money on a full-size handgun for home defense. I may not look like your typical gun owner (long hair dude lookin’ guy) but I grew up on a ranch in Idaho and I am very familiar with firearms. I was met by a dismissive sales person who insisted I buy a shotgun then walked away while I was asking a few questions about a used DA/SA Sig.I said, “Thanks, remind your neighbors to lock up, theres a burglar around” walked out, went straight to Turner and bought a new Sig from helpful attentive reps.As a member of the Palm Desert community and gun owner; this business lost my respect and patronage.

I took the CCW class last night and had to write a review - The class was a few hours but the time flew by as a result of Storm’s knowledge, spunk, and humor. He engaged the entire class of close to 30 people and kept everyone interested, informed, and (most importantly IMO) entertained. I thought I had a pretty good understanding of all things firearm related and I was given so many gems of information I don’t think I could have gotten anywhere else.Storm’s vast experience in the gun world and law enforcement really add value to what could have been a boring hurtle in the concealed carry process.Thank you Sir the incredible experience, I will be recommending your class any chance I get!****UPDATE****4/23/21****Went to the range qualification today with Tom and I had to update my review! First off, Guns of Distinction just plain is a fantastic business with even better people working for them. I’ve read some bad reviews and they either seem to be from the previous ownership of overly sensitive individuals. We had such a fantastic time today on the range and it was educational, captivating, entertaining, and a good safe time. Tom knows his stuff!!! He is so patient and knows exactly how to get you back on target and calm you down. Just a really great day even if it was a tad windy. I have purchased ammunition, firearms and a tazer for my wife and my dealings with Storm have all been excellent and only surpassed by his CCW Course and the range testing by Tom was also excellent. When I decided to add a additional firearm to my license Storm and Tom were more than accommodating and professional. Storm! You not only have my business you also have my vote!

I really like this place. The selection is among the best I’ve seen in the valley. I finally found my Glock 17 here after looking everywhere for months. I bought it right away and they were patient with me while I got all my paperwork in order. They know how this state is, it takes time to get the legal stuff together sometimes. I appreciate them holding it for me for so long. I highly recommend this store because of the customer service and selection.

He promised that he offers a 100% money back GUARENTEE...(WRONG AGAIN!!!!!!) I got denied for my CCW and he has been dodging all my calls never returns the emails. i have been asking for 4 months about my refund and he wont even call me and tell me NO!!...... Save the money DONT do Business with him !!!

AMAZING experience! I was a first time buyer, first time tester, first time everything. I knew nothing about guns other than I wanted one and I knew there was a test. My husband had called around to a few places and they seemed impatient. THIS store was amazing in every step of this process. They made what was a nerve wrecking experience to an absolute pleasant one. One where I left with confidence and excitement. They answered a hundred questions with knowledge and patience. Never making me feel like it was a dumb question. They were helpful with understanding the process from beginning to end. Do not do your CCW with storm Jenkins! He is the worst kind of retail owner / service man I have ever dealt with. Once he receives your payment he just disrespect/ ignore you . You will come to the store, seat there and wait even if you are first in line if you already paid him he will ignore you till all giving money right now customers will leave.Ive had the worst experience ever in any service giving business and I will highly recommend to no go to this store.Once you will tell him that he is doing wrong he will than tell you to get out of the store with f*** you words.

These guys are great! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. If you are looking to acquire your CCW their VIP program takes the headache out of it and worth every penny. Despite the current backlog from the Sheriffs Department, I was able to obtain my CCW in a very timely manner because of the VIP program. For most all of your firearm needs, Guns of Distinction should be your first stop! Highly recommend!

Great Store!!! Ive gone to this store quite frequently over the past several years and I have always had a very friendly & professional experience. Extremely helpful & knowledgable staff will allow you to feel comfortable asking any questions that you may have. The store doesnt have a massive inventory because its a boutique store but they will be able to procure whatever you are looking for. The owner also provides CCW (Carry Concealed) classes as well. I would highly recommend this store!

BEWARE FAKE REVIEWS. It is clear that somebody either has a grudge with the owner of the shop or a competitor is posting fake reviews. There are several reviews from people who clearly have never been to the shop and in one case two reviews under two different names with the same complaints cut and pasted. This is a great mom and pop gun shop. What you might lose in a huge inventory you gain in personal attention and helpful atmosphere. and if you want it, they can usually order it. End of story.

I think it really depends what kind of mood the person working is in, when you come into the store. I see some reviews with positive feedback so I tried to come by and check out the store to buy some ammo and check out some firearms...maybe because it was the last hour they were open and they might have been ”over” helping customers during that day, but we got a hello from a female talking with a gentleman looking at houses on Zillow. Perhaps it was more important than helping us? maybe I shouldve spoke up and asked for help?...Hopefully Ill catch him or her on a better day....ill edit this review if the customer service experience is different on my next visit, because I understand we are all human...Great selection of handguns though.

This is the only guy I trust with information regarding all these guns. The owner is very aware and informative of current gun laws in our home state of California, which are always changing .

This place was the best gun store I have ever been to!!! Not only was the service amazing, there prices were very reasonable. I bought a used gun and the gentleman cleaned it so prefect for me. Picking up the gun was so easy and he made sure I knew all safety points. I will defiantly be back to purchase all my guns there!!!

Rude. When a customer walks into your store, have the decency to say hello. Regardless if youre busy, you should acknowledge the customer. I walked around for 10 minutes, there were 3 guys working, not one acknowledgment and I was there to purchase a firearm.

I did but a gun and I am first time buyer and when I went to pick up the gun they couldn’t find the magazine and the store owner said they will order and will be there in 2 days and it’s been 3 weeks now and they don’t even answer the phone and will keep updating if any action needed to be done or they did order it will keep updating

Was just about to purchase a very expensive revolver as it was my third time in; when some fat man yells from across the room, not even involved in the sale, and tells me not to dry fire, which I had already asked if I could. Needless to say I walked right out as I don’t take lip from the obese. It’s too bad as I’m born and raised in Palm Desert and prefer smaller gun shops close to home, but not if they’re creeps. I’d steer clear from this place. They’re overpriced and rude. And mentally ill!, as obesity is in fact a mental illness.

These guys are very helpful, honest, and friendly. The comments about Glock are a bit out of line. With the various laws, a lot of guns are simply NOT California legal anymore. Glock has one of the best CA approved selections. Plus, they have a great variety of used guns, and will work with customers to find guns that they are interested in. You wont find service like that at any of the big chain stores. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Definitely a must for the collector of rare firearms and just everyday firearms with the exceptions of assault weapons, unless collectible. Mark and staff helpful and knowledgeable with friendly service.

Mark the owner is very genuine and willing to help. More of a boutique store, but they will help you find what your looking for at an excellent price.

Pretty ok service, bought a glock here and got the law enforcment discount. One of the gentelmen that worked here event went as far to show me how to properly field strip and oil the weapon, and threw in a free complimentary can of hops number 9 oil. Over all pretty ok prople.

They lied to me. They flat out lied to me. I am not evening going to explain. However, CV Guns and Ammo or 2nd Amendment is the way to go.
