If you have the slightest bit of of techy in your veins, leave your credit cards at home! They have stuff youve only seen on webites, product selections are great, stuff you didnt know existed, connections/connectors, power supplies, 3D printers . . . Staff is knowledgable as well.Christmas and birthday shopping for the next several years is complete. Good selection of educational products for younger children to cultivate interest and understanding of technology.

Micro Center is a fantastic place to go if you want to get anything computer related in person, rather than ordering online. They have a huge selection of computers and other tech accessories at competitive prices. My husband and I are big Amazon shoppers, but we love Micro Center for their massive selection, great prices, and the fact that we can walk in and get our tech in the same day. Weve gotten several laptops, a Vive, keyboards, mice, and countless rolls of Inland brand 3D printing filament. Yes, theyve even got a great stock of 3D printing stuff, and thats the only retail store I can say that about! Currently there are some stock issues with things like gaming laptops, video cards, etc. due to the chip shortage, but this is not unique to Micro Center. I highly recommend coming here over a place like Best Buy if youre looking to try your hands at some laptops or tablets before committing to buy. The fact that they manage to be a brick and mortar store that has prices competitive with Amazon will always amaze me. Oh, and yes, the staff is very friendly, too! Were always coming back!

Whether youre a diy computer person or not... If you need gear, this is the place. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, huge inventory, good prices and just a fun place to shop. After every purchase, a manager would come over to personally thank the customer for buying at the Micro Center. Nice touch.

I LOVE this store. I had to get a new computer, and had a few issues (most likely user issues. im old). Crista was very helpful with the return. I requested a store credit so I could look at the website and pick another model. Im absolutely delighted with my new laptop/tablet !!!!! Customer service at this store is top notch. I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Love the selection here, convenient location. But the employees are almost always way too busy for assistance. They’re constantly with customers and it’s hard to get a hand when you need them to retrieve lots of products. They should come up with a deli line number system or something so customers don’t monopolize their time lol.

This is one of my favorite stores on the planet. If youre into PCs, this is the place to go. I can spend hours wandering through this place. Weve built four PCs so far with components from Micro Center. The guys working there know their stuff and can make great recommendations. The prices are competitive to online retailers and it feels good knowing that you can make returns in person if something doesnt work out.

Micro center is so nice and clean. I always have an amazing, positive experience from the professionals at the knowledge bar to help with any computer issues. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because the other staff will see people needing help and not bother to help, or if you need help they kind of get annoyed with helping, or act like they dont know anything and cant help you,, but you have those rare customer service guys who are nice and act like they want to help and do their job.

The staff was wonderful. Very knowledgeable in all the various areas of the store we went to.Ben T. & John H. Helped with 💻 computer accessories..Dayne assisted at check out. And Rob McG a manager; Was very knowledge & assisted with all the questions we had asked.. I would recommend the coming here, was worth the drive out... It was not crowded, and check out lines were fast... Thanks all for such a good experience...The only downside is there is NO phone # to call and confirm ordering;however they do respond to texts and email fast...

Not What They Used To Be! I have been dealing with Micro Center long before they came to Baltimore. I have had many computers built by them as well as purchased laptops and other PCs from them. My last experience started of o.k. and has just gone downhill, the key as I know it now is that you better buy the extended warranty! I paid a lot of money for a fast computer and a few simple problems are ruining it. Simply put, the USB ports just do not work consistently, therefore thing like external drives, USB Mouse & Keyboard... you know, the important things do not work. Now the only solution is to drive 45 minutes and wait or leave the computer until they can possibly do something. In this process I have replaced the Mouse & Keyboard thinking that that might be the problem, but no such luck. There is no longer the feeling that you are valued when you come in with a problem!

This was my first visit to Micro Center, and it felt like I was on a different planet.The service team was outstanding, knowledgeable and actually made me feel like they cared about their craft. You just dont see that anymore with a lot of stores.The variety of products was amazing - like a Radio Shack, Best Buy, Staples and Home Depot all crammed into one space!The grand finale was my checkout process... no wait, and I was pleasantly assisted by a gentleman in a suite!Super classy guys!

Long time customer of Microcenter for 9+ years. Overall they have good stock and great discounts even in this supply-constrained environment, especially in the Build Your Own (BYO) section. However, customer service at the Parkville location has seemingly gone downhill based on the past few trip experiences I have had over the past 3 months. Today was the tipping point for me. All too often, I know exactly the parts I need and are in-stock but inaccessible behind security locked display cases, thus requiring a sales floor associate to grab the item and print out an order sheet. I would normally use the online order/pickup but many parts are now only available to select on location. I walked into the store planning on spending $2.5k+ in items today, but after 20-25 minutes of waiting for someone to become available to open the display or at least hand me the order sheet, I stood there standing by watching several associates walk around with customers for 10+ minutes as they picked out and discussed various parts which is great for first time customers of MC but unnecessary for those familiar with how to shop for parts. One customer in a similar situation as mine got served only because another customer acknowledged him and agreed to wait so the associate could grab the two items. Frustrated and empty handed from BYO, I grabbed a $20 Raspberry Pi case and headed over to the monitor section as I also planned on picking up a new 1440p or 4K monitor. After browsing for about 10 minutes, I picked out a couple on the short list but wanted to speak to someone on the location of the physical items as many times the stock is separate from the display model location as well as the fact sticker prices vary from the actual sales price. FYI, the same associates that work the monitor section seemingly also work the new/pre-built PC section as the two are intermingled. Another 15+ minutes of waiting with several workers active on the floor, not one stopped to help but instead seemed more interested in focusing on those that were looking at pre-built/OEM PCs. Time and time again, I watched customers walk away without a sale only for the associates to walk over, sometimes literally passed me, to the next person looking at PCs. It seems the incentive structure of sales employees is disproportionately focused towards spending more time with potential customers on larger ticket items at the expense of getting a quick and/or potentially more profitable sales (in terms of time invested per customer vs potential sales revenue). At the checkout, I had a short conversation with the guy working cashier about my frustration, to which he seemed genuinely interested in my displeasure and asked what I was trying to purchase. After listing off what I was interested (including an MSI 6700XT with 25+ in stock), he asked if I was interested in going back to try again just as one of the BYO worker happened to walk up to drop-off area for another customer. The cashier asked how busy it was, only for the BYO associate to say yeah, its a little busy, shrugged, then proceeded to walk into the back without even exploring the potential they missed out on an easy sale to a long time customer. I finalized my $25 purchase and walked away shaking my head thinking that they missed out on 100x more revenue in what would have amounted to essentially 5-10 minutes of time from two employees. At this point, my thought is the savings do not offset the 30 minute drive x2 (1 hr total), only to be ignored.

Hello.I used to like this store, but its getting worse, by the point that I must write this negative review.I recently purchased laptop from these guys, it was open-box deal with discounted price, so I came to pick-up my order, took my new purchased laptop home, and... what a surprise! It was not open-box, but used laptop without any box at all, with broken treads on screws on the bottom of my laptop, and already activated Windows with Spanish set as a system language, and only 9 months of original warranty left instead of 12.What a disappointment, Micro Center, and big shame on you for lying to your loyal customers.

I come in here a few times a year for work and personal needs and it’s generally pretty uneventful until I came in yesterday. For the first time I needed to do a return as well as pickup an online order. The person working the internet pickup area was Julien and he went above and beyond in respect to customer service. I had a few issues that needed to be worked out with a purchase etc and he was a pleasure to deal with and a plethora of knowledge. Customer service is so hit or miss now-a-days but man what a pleasant surprise. Julien, if you’re reading this, thanks again for making my day easier and putting a smile on my face. I was graciously helped by a sales associate and his manager to purchase 4 Chromebooks for students at the nonprofit I work for. The Chromebooks were locked at 1 purchase per household but after I explained what we needed them for he helped me get them to our students asap and they were able to attend their online orientations! Basically Lied To - Less Than Minimum EffortMy last trip to micro-center I had an issue with the fans and I asked for diagnostics done. They did diagnostics - diagnostics that took a full week... and during that time they were very hard to touch base with. They had mentioned that Dell had not responded to them about the parts multiple times. I logged in to review my ticket and all it would say is checked in, but I had to reach out to a manager with inquiries to get any information. Of course, when they eventually told me the part they couldnt get a hold of... I reached out to Dell myself and I heard back within 24hours.So in addition to hardly getting any communication about my device, when they identified the issue, I ordered the part (or so I hoped) and had my first experience taking apart and trying to replace parts in my computer myself. Well, needless to say, I was appalled. Only one of my fans was even plugged in and it was dusty to high hell... now Im doubting that they even opened up my computer to take a look.So in summation: I was directly lied to - the service was minimal and I was not treated like priority at all. Giving someones computer back worse than when they turned it in to you (during a pandemic none the less) is absolutely shameful. Im done with micro center.03/10/2021 Update - thanks for the reply. I know times are not easy right now, but I realize that micro center will take grievances thoughtfully and I am glad to hear that this will be facilitated up and hopefully micro center will take steps to improve its service so that more people are happy with their results. He had me down to a couple choices very quickly and gave insightful advice on those choices. Didnt try and sell me the highest model even for the price range I gave him. Very disappointed with their diagnosis and repair service. Was told my computer had a motherboard issue, so sent it back to ASUS only for them to tell me the motherboard was fine. When I contacted microcenter for a second diagnosis, I was told I would be charged a second time for this service, even though their first diagnosis was incorrect. Poor customer service in my opinion.

Im writing this review in spite of not buying anything from Micro Center. I was in the market for a high-end laptop. I had done a lot of online research, but wanted to support a brick and mortar store if I could. Micro Center only had one of the three computers I had narrowed it down to. Instead of talking me into buying that computer, the sales person/technician I spoke with in the store gave me wonderful additional advice and ultimately encouraged me to purchase one of the computers that was not sold by MC.Thats a level of integrity and knowledge about personnel computers that I think is incredibly admirable, and theyll definitely continue to be my first stop for computer accessories and recommendations to friends and families because you know they are giving you good advice.

Not shopping here anymore. Great price on TV with free delivery. Took 4 employees to set up delivery for some reason. Turns out they have to ship the TV to a delivery warehouse which is 3rd party, who then ship it to you. You have to wait for them to call and set up delivery. Been 7 days no call. Store less than helpful and gave me the warehouses number. Delivery warehouse is only open M-F of course. I was told 4 days to se up delivery.To add fuel to the fire you cant call the store. You have to do a web chat and then they have the store call you. I was in chat que for ever last night, and by the time I got someone in another time zone my stores hours were over and closed. Chat said someone would call me in the morning. Spoiler alert no call. Drove to the store and waited in customer service line. Apparently you have to wait in the cashier line to talk to a manager!? And got no resolution to this issue. What kind of backwards store is this??

Ordered a pair of headphones listed in stock for store pickup. Was emailed that they were ready and I went for pickup. Afterwards I noticed that they gave me the incorrect color of the ones I had ordered. When I went back they couldnt find the original color I had actually ordered. Worse yet I was informed that hadnt been able to find it all morning and eventually gave up and just decided to substitute a different color...without telling me or asking. I guess they hoped I wouldnt notice?

I called to see if they had any GPUs, assuming they didnt. Their app said they had a limited in store selection on one. I drove an hour just on the chance because they stated they couldnt tell me if it was out of stock over the phone, I had to go. I got there and someone in a suit laughed at me when I asked if they had any of the limited stock item left. I drove over an hour and got laughed at for my efforts. Not nice...

I have been looking for a gpu and went there to get one because they said they had one in stock online. When I got there after driving for 20 minutes they told me it was a bug on their site and they actually didn’t have it. Another thing is they don’t have a phone number to call and check what items they have in stock, because sometimes their site isn’t reliable. In the end it’s a great store really nice people just some irritating little things.

I had three stars because on my first visit I thought they offered great products but was given very poor customer service. I lowered it a star because on this visit I witnessed others receiving even worse customer service as to what I was given on my first visit. A great example is a woman was looking for a specific item and found an associate for help. He never took the time to hear what she needed just said he had to do something and then never bothered to return to help her.

Good choice if you need to pick up a component quickly and cant wait for delivery. Prices on some items are comparable in price to online retailers, some items are quite more expensive. So, do your research and compare prices first. On the plus side, there are no sales people in blue shirts descending upon you the minute you walk in the door.

My review is mixed. I would give 10 stars to Jesse Johnson, who sold me a new Apple computer and went out of his way to help me get it started and running. He is knowledgeable, patient, kind, and sincere. I give 2 stars to the Apple technical crew at the bar, who were not easy to get in touch with, were not all that helpful, and did not follow up to my repeated attempts to contact them. They did not answer the phone or respond to text messages, and I had to drive back to the store in order to get my new machine to work properly, after spending alot of money in order to do so. It would be helpful if the actual technicians would emerge from the back to address the customers. I think I will be taking my Apple computer elsewhere for service if needed.

Had them build me a pc and as soon as I got it home the led lights on the fans did not work properly and the led button on the case did not work at all. Called 2 days later and they said to bring it in. I work a lot and finally had a chance a week later to bring it in and they said it would be 2 weeks before they can look at it. Mind you it was broken before it left the store so really it should be first priority. Obviously the techs didnt check it before they were done building to make sure it worked correctly. Poor customer service as the tech wanted me to fix it myself. So make sure you test your builds in store because obviously those techs cant be trusted.

Two terrible experiences in a row. The first time I ordered online for in-person pick up they did not include an item in my bag. They told me I would have to drive an hour back to get a refund and they could not ship the missing item. They also stopped responding to me.The second time, they cannot keep track of their own stock. Website and phone says they have one video card left in stock, again, driving an hour to get there for them to tell me it was misplaced in their inventory.Their advice if we say theres one left in stock - just dont come.Fantastic advice for this MicroCenter. Just dont go.

I can not say enough good things about my experience. I’ve been debating on a new MacBook or new iPad for some time but honestly, I just wasn’t totally clear on what I really needed, the differences etc. After tons of online searches, comparing models and reviews, I decided to just go look in person and went to Micro Center. I was asked if I needed assistance within a few minutes (it was probably clear I was a bit lost lol) but then, they sent out someone to help me. This gentleman’s name was Jesse. He was so incredibly helpful and answered all my questions and offered knowledge I wouldn’t even have known to ask. He explained differences, showed how to do the specific things I asked about and wasn’t trying to push me to buy the “best thing out there” but instead, helped me find what was best for me. I felt very confident with my purchase by the end. He thanked me for my patience! What? Sir, I assure you, YOU were the patient one with all my questions and indecisiveness!!! Awesome people who knew what they were talking about, but I was shopping for a new chair. All of the chairs are on the top of a display and are not removable for testing. If I am going to drop $300 on a chair then I expect to be able to test it out and make sure it fits.The other issue is that this store is old(Parkville, Md), and I mean OLD. The store was a cluttered mess and the lighting was non-existent. I honestly felt like I had stepped into a flea market rather than what I thought was a top-tier electronics store. I dont know if the store in Rockville is better situated, and I will give it a shot before completely writing off Micro Center, but the store really needs to rock my expectations before I spend a single dime there.

I would expect that if you are not taking calls to check instock items you are on top of updating your website. I would understand if the items in question went out of stock within last 30 minutes but for the items to be out of stock since 10 mins after store opened and im arriving 3 hrs later the site should have been updated

Sales staff in the computer hardware section are knowledgeable and polite. I gave them an idea of what I was looking for and was able to stay within my budget while getting a much needed upgrade. I will always do my PC hardware shopping here for whatever parts I need.

Horrible service. Very rude staff.tried to force sales by telling me “this other customer is going to get it if you don’t” without even talking to the other customer he pointed to. I’ve heard great things about micro center and was very disappointed about my experience there. I will be going with a different company for my pc needs.

Good spacing, greeter at the door telling you how to wear your mask and asking if you need assistance finding what you are looking for. They have hand sanitizer throughout the store. They are wiping down items people touch often.

Out of a lot of items, prices on some items are ok the rest is higher then Amazon and thats crazy. But if you want it now or didnt know you needed it then maybe its worth it.If its on sale its been a very competitive price, half the help is great but ask the wrong person and it gets confusing at best, ask 2 staff and you will get 2 different directions, if they work for you then maybe they should all look at the same script!

If you have issues with the Best Buy CEO saying that if you come in the store and you dont buy anything... this is the store for you. Staff quickly approach and ask if they can help, are knowledgeable. Store (Towson MD.) is easy to get to. Go in knowing what I want, staff help me and Im gone in 10-15 mins .
