They are professional and courteous and they want the best for their customers. They will repair what it necessary, recommend additional repairs and they are always honest and up front. I have taken my car for service at Herold Family Automotive & Tire a few times and I already feel like Ive developed a great relationship with the staff. Personally, I get very nervous when faced with any kind of car repair because I dont feel like I know what Im talking about and it seems to always be so expensive. I took our aging backup car for an inspection to make sure it was roadworthy for a weekend trip. I had been taking my cars to a trusted mechanic over the past few years (shout out to Miller Auto in Mentor!), but since moving to the west side, I had to find a replacement. Based on my experience so far, I would recommend trying them outMy customer service rep was personable and knowledgeable, and they have a lot of the niceties more commonly associated with large dealership service departments: online booking, text message alerts, loaner car available, decent waiting room.They sent me a link to an inspection report that included all the findings, along with photos of potential areas of concern. For example, they sent decent photos of the condition of the struts, and some corrosion on the oil pan. They recommended a workaround for an issue to help keep me on the road and stillness save me a lot of money since the car is not worth putting a whole lot into.

Service representative who scheduled my appointment was polite and attentive, and straightforward about everything from start to finish, what they could and couldnt do, potential costs, and kept me posted about what was needed and when it would be done. After not so great service from other automotive centers this was a breathe of fresh air, they even had a loaner car available until mine was done. Id go back and recommend them.

Herold Family Auto staff was able to get me in for an appointment in a timely manner once I noticed my check engine came on. Within just a few hours of taking a look at it, I received a call with the results from the diagnostic testing with all the information I needed for the repair. They ordered the part, in which they said it would arrive within a half an hour from our phone call.My appointment was for 7:30am & I was able to pick my car up around 4pm. My daily errands weren’t interrupted as I was given a loner vehicle while mine was being serviced.I’ve always been skeptical about going to smaller auto shops & usually preferred to stay in the dealership, but I can say I have found my new mechanic & trust coming back to HFA if my vehicle needs further assistance/work.

Jeff and his Brother are really very good mechanics and are very honest in their dealings. They have worked on my entire families cars and they have never done anything I didnt ask to have done. I have worked in automotive before but they explain everything they did and they are very thorough, if you dont need it they dont do it but if you need something that you werent aware of they let you know before they do anything. This is the only place I have work on my cars because I know I can trust Jeff to do it right plus he is only a call away and is always willing to talk to you.

Amazing service with great value!! Not even the service at the manufacturers dealership has such efficient and personable service. Friendly and kind staff that are very helpful. The car was very well taken care of and they even provided a loaner. I love how even though it is a family-owned shop, their technology use was top notch. I got a proper status report on the car with photos of inspection findings sent right to my phone. The car was ready sooner than anticipated too. They left a nice little “thank you” gift in the car and did a follow-up call to make sure everything was good. They are family-owned and make you feel like family. They definitely exceeded my expectations and I will recommend them to everyone.

Ridiculous. I set up an online appt.for an oil change 2 days in advanced. I get a call on that morning stating that there are no lifts available to perform an oil change. And that all oil changes are done during the morning hours. So my appointment was canceled for me, got no apology and the next available was two days. Unacceptable. That’s not how you treat customers. I will take my business elsewhere.

I needed my car fixed up before heading home on break. Several other med students use this dealership and are incredibly happy with the service. From the moment you walk in you can tell it’s a family operated business. They’re great at prioritizing the services that need to be done, with your safety and the safety of other drivers at the center. They have great technology, photographing and texting you the problems they see. It’s your job to determine what you would like to do. They have great deals running and try to minimize the hurt while trying to run their business. I couldn’t suggest an automotive repair group more.

After getting my car back Ive concluded this is a great place to get auto repairs. I was treated well by the staff and firmly believe the owner didnt get to where he is now by being dishonest so go here if youve read this review and need any auto repairs. I am a DIY kind of person with auto repairs but needed new tires and an alignment because I changed out my tie rod ends and other suspension parts. They got new tires and an alignment done on my car for the best price thats why I chose them and they are also a quality repair shop. They also did it within 4 days of calling so it all adds up to a true 5 star review.

Took a tire there that had 1 nail in it. Tire was off the car already, just needed a plug. Is was $32!!!!!! As if the $26 for the 10 minute repair job wasnt enough, they charged us $4 for the tiny rubber plug. These guys are a RIP OFF. I went to a tire shop up the street and got a decent used tire installed and balanced for $25.

IF ONLY THERE WAS A ZERO STAR OPTION! took my car in at 10am for an oil change. i called all a few hours later and hey said its next in line. 40 minutes later they said the same thing. I call again at 2pm and was told it will be done at 3:30-4!! they said theyre working on it in between other appointments. i have NEVER waited this long for a simple oil change even if the shop is packed. you will NEVER EVER catch me at this place again. Absolutely ridiculous!

They got me in the next day and fixed it the same day I dropped it off. They gave me a loaner car so I wasnt stranded and were able to save the calipers, which saved me hundreds of dollars, rather than charging for something that didnt need to be replaced. I left and said I would be in touch with her. I called her back the next day, Tuesday. Tires were ordered on Wednesday and by Thursday I had tires put on and other work done to my car. They even gave me a loaner car to use that day. When I picked up my car there was a little bag of candy on the seat which was a very sweet surprise. 😁 Thank you to Brandy, Matt, Jeff and whoever else helped with the repairs to my car and were a part in making this a great experience for me. I took my car to Herold Family Automotive to get headlights installed. Not only were they upfront about the cost, they were honest and transparent about how much work would go into the installation. While I was there they gave me a great price on tires, which I desperately needed. Not only is it a family owned and run business, but they made me feel like family too. That was an accident on the 2 stars honestly... And I wasnt in your shop. I actually live across the street. So I called to ask about putting a tire that I already have onto my rim. And the women that answered the phone was very nice and helpful. I honestly didnt mean to put two stars. I didnt come to your shop because your price was around $30 and I previously talked to two other tire shops in Cleveland and their charge was $10. Besides the price difference I had a great experience with your staff and she was very helpful... I apologize if accidentally putting two start effected u in a negative way.

I got an appointment right away at a time that worked well with my work schedule. Jeff (the Owner) and his staff were very friendly and a pleasure to be with. I called and asked for a BALL PARK estimate for a certain part... I understand that theres a lot involved and it could be other things plus labor costs and etc, but the way the mechanic spoke to me was INCREDIBLY unprofessional and condescending. Telling me rudely its like calling a doctor and saying my arm hurts and expecting a diagnosis and who told you it was that? I just cant believe the way I was spoken to and the tone that was used. He could have just said its too difficult to tell or something simple if he didnt want to give me an answer instead of what he did. I decided to not go with this shop due to it already exceeding the reputation of speaking to women condescendingly. I was only asking for, if the crank seal DID need replaced and only the crank seal, what would the ball park estimate be.... The front desk girl was sweet and patient though, I will say that....

I called in a panic the morning of. They were able to get me in that day. They sent an online report of their findings. They called me within 10 minutes of sending the report and explained everything in detail. They gave me a realistic expectation or time and cost on that phone call. They far exceeded my expectations by having my car done the same afternoon in less time. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. We will be returning in the future.

I brought my 2004 4Runner in for what appeared to be a reaccuring alignment and wheel balance issue...according too (2) other local auto shops. After 5 weeks of taking my vehicle to these shops without any satisfaction I went to Harolds Family auto. They put my truck on the lift and showed me exactly what was wrong. I agreed to have the work done. They provided a loner car for the weekend at the cost of returning the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as I recirved it. Took my car in for the first time and could not be more pleased. The diagnostic check they do is awesome to keep the customer informed about current and future repairs. They send you a report with pictures so you can physically see the problem. The loaner vehicle helped me out because I could not get my car due to my work hours. The service was awesome and the constant follow ups to make sure the job was done right shows how much they care about their business. Would recommend to anyone.

Had a very nice experience dealing with Herold Family Automotive. I initially called to inquire about getting a 90K service for my vehicle and found out quickly that this place is different in a good way. I spoke to Jeff and he let me know he wanted to get the car in because even though youre supposed to have such and such checked, thered be no need replacing things if they really didnt need to. I really like the fact that they send you the inspection report with pictures so you can see for yourself versus taking someones word for it if you have little knowledge about vehicles. I also like the fact that theyll let you know about the priorities of work thats needed for your vehicle and set up a timeline as to when you can get certain things done. Everybody at the shop was incredibly nice and I received a phone call and text after the work was done asking was I satisfied with the work and thanking me for giving them business. Now its never a good thing when you spend two weeks pay in a span of thirty seconds, but I felt the price was fair and I would not have any issues going back to get future work done.

Ive used many auto shops in my time & I always dread the visits. This time was different. I found them online & read great reviews so i booked my appointment. 5 Star service from beginning to end. All the ataff was highly attentive and friendly. Keith did my intake process. I work in healthcare & I felt like my car was going through auto doctor triage ! LOL. He was very thorough & made notes. Shortly after, I received a text with a full report on my vehicle- pictures included. My car was in bad shape and needed a lot of repairs. Some i was aware of and others that were discovered upon examination. He was aware that I did not intend to keep the vehicle long. Therefore I was not looking to spend a lot. Only enough to make the vehicle safe. So, when I called he listed all the things in order of importance and made his suggestions. J was offered a FREE loaner vehicle. Which as we all know not having our vehicle and trying to rely on others is a major inconvenience. I had never been to a shop that was not dealership that has this benefit. I called them once more to tell them i would not be in to pick it up at the time I originally agreed upon because I did not have a ride w a car seat for my son. I told them I would be taking the bus and be there soon. They set me up to have Brandi pick my son and I up! She grabbed his carseat and was at my house in no time. She was a lovely girl. Professional and genuine. I enjoyed chatting with her on the way to the shop. The loaner was clean and rode lovely. My car was repaired a day ahead of schedule. They left a little candy bag in my car and gave my son his own. I even had a cool keychain put on my key rings. The following day i received a follow-up text from Jeff asking how my car was running and if I was satisfied. I rarely write reviews but this one was well-deserved. I will return & recommend!
