I took a few days to visit a friend and I had told her I wanted to go to this book store. Let me tell you, the welcome was wonderful, the girl at the register was way friendly and the experience was fantastic. I met the owner at The Shed and I heard about what she did the Little Library during Covid. She needs to be commended for her work in the community. Such a heart for her home. Thank you for making my trip a bit brighter. I hope to be back, if not, I can order!

I absolutely adore this bookstore! They offer a wide selection of books at great prices. They have amazing sales and trade in options. The owner is passionate and super sweet. And it always smells delightful because of the candles and wax melts. The Book Rack truly is a hidden gem for all book lovers in Peoria!

It is a great place. The lady running it hosts childrens readings online with guest readers. They are expanding their store right now so they can have in person readings for the kids. It is a good place for families.

04/07/2021 - We came back. Same conditions exist; great staff, excellent selection and great prices. This store is the absolute best used bookstore in Peoria, IL. It’s prices and large selection are at a level that makes people want to come back and shop here. We always find a book or 4 to purchase. We spent time talking to the staff and had a very enjoyable conversation.3 years ago... Large children’s, western, inspirational fiction, women’s fiction and fiction sections. Great prices. Friendly staff. Will come back when in area.

Love this used book store! Always leave wanting more. The owner has such a great personality and is quick to help. The book store has expanded and every time I go in Im surprised at how cozy and creative she has decorated and arranged what seems like a billion books! The kids and young adult sections are so inviting and my children always find several books in very good condition. The adult books are well organized and she even has lists up to give you ideas of authors you may like. Prices, I think, are very reasonable.

This is easily my favorite place to buy books! They also have some lovely handmade gifts, and the icing on the cake? The owner is so sweet and helpful! Stacy makes people want to come back, even if its just to look around and see whats new. I recommend this place to everyone!

The new owner Stacy Hardin has given this place a new look! Atmosphere is wonderful. She has many many books to choose from. She is always getting in new books. You can even donate books that she sells them for a dollar and all that money goes towards helping people with dyslexia! She also has her homemade soy candles and melts for sale that she hand pours herself! A wonderful shop! Very impressed!

I have been pleasantly surprised by this little bookstore! I went in when we first moved to the area a few years ago. The previous owner was very nice, but the prices were a little high for me. I’m a bargain hunter especially for used books. :) I have recently been reacquainted with this bookstore because of their Facebook posts and the new owner has really redone the whole store! I didn’t know it had changed! I have been so blessed by their free cart out front and had a great experience when I shopped. I found a good children’s selection and the prices just can’t be beat. I will still visit other bookstores but honestly- it is so nice to not have to mess with trade in credit to get a decent price. The Book Rack’s prices are straightforward and appropriate, in my opinion. Thanks so much for the great service you’ve added for us book lovers. I hope the children’s selection will keep growing!

Love this store! Books, gift items, candles and the best people owning it! The Hardins are passionate about books and especially about literacy and reading. They have many projects and programs to promote increasing the reading scores (and love for reading) in our local community schools.

Best used book store ever

This book shop was recently purchased by myself and I am working hard to re-organize all of the books. No longer will you have to worry about books toppling over onto your head. Great place to shop! Very friendly and helpful! The owner is always giving back to the community with her free little libraries and helping schools obtain books for local students.

Theres a great selection of titles at incredibly reasonable prices. Not to mention the great local gifts that are sold at the front too. Theres no doubt that its a great local establishment that has benefitted from a terrific owner.

A very welcoming place with the familiar feel of a library. She is eager to answer questions and if she doesnt know the answer, she will find it. Amazing response time to a question I asked via Facebook messenger. I will be back in the very near future. For the books, and her wax melts(theyre amazing!)!!!

What a quaint little book shop! When you walk in, the first thing that hits you is the smell of soy candles that the owner makes herself! I couldnt help it; I had to buy a couple. I burned one last night and WOW! Its fantastic! You have to go and try them! And the books - so many books. And the owner is so knowledgeable about them. I asked her if she had a book and she knew right where it was, right off the top of her head. She said that when she took the store over, she had to move every book in the place so she knows what she has. I will absolutely make this shop one of my monthly stopping grounds.

Love this store! We bought 42 amazing books (paperback and hardcover mix) for $42 and change today at the Dr Suess birthday celebration $1 book sale. Everyone there is so nice, customers included, its a great environment!

This used book store has been in operation for several years now. I suggest you pop in and give them a look. They have other merchandise also such as candles, funny socks, cards, jewelry, etc.

Me and my family came to town for a doctors appointment and we always have to check out any used bookstores whenever we are in a new town. Book Rack was AMAZING. Nice selection of books, well organized, and the prices are great. To top it off the owner was great!! Very friendly, knowledgeable, makes you feel at home. She was able to give some good suggestions and make plesant, genuine conversation, which is something i have found sorely lacking in many places we have visited. We found some new stuff to add to our collection and walked out with two big bags of books. Dont worry though theres plenty left!! Cannot recommend enough, thank you so much!
