I have been shopping here since it was Food For Thought before it was Whole foods. The low rating is for the lack of concern for customers I see there now. I couldnt find items this morning and couldnt find anyone to help me. I looked at the checkout and saw that the only had 1 open. Instead of getting in line I went to Customer service to ask about the things I couldnt find. Then I went back and got in line at THE ONE checkout they had open. After I got my items on the conveyer, I saw the same customer service person call the person who was coming behind me over to check her out. NOT GOOD CUSTOMERS SERVICE WHOLE FOODS!!
Personal biases aside, the place isnt half bad. It seems clean and well organized and I dont remember having any trouble. My only real issue is that they sometimes put up a huge frozen storage container that makes it harder to notice or enjoy sitting right outside the coffee shop next door. Theyre not doing that right now as Im typing this so Im adding two stars to my normal rating.
I love this store! Have been shopping here for over 16 years and have worked here too. The employees are always helpful and kind. The seafood is awesome and the guys that work back there are so informative and nice to talk to. I stopped going to Olivers because the quality and the friendliness and knowledge was lacking. Wholefoods Petaluma seafood dept. Is top quality all around. 😊THANKS!!
Ordered a fruit tart and bought a death by chocolate cake for my bosses birthday. They were both yummy! Everyone was very happy. The customer service by the bakery was fab, I was nervous and called after ordering on line, they were really great. Ill order from them again next time!
Lines where full, no express checkout and they for some reason decided to close down my lane and send us all the way to the back of the line. Im on a lunch break and I get paid by the hour. In short the manager of this branch should be replaced with someone more capable of keeping lines short and staff working enough registers.
Still my favorite health food store! Huge selection including dozens of items on sale each week and lots of organic, non-gmo and vegan items. Fabulous produce! Great deli & burrito bar! And low cost 365 brand items all throughout the store.
Clean, well organized store with attractive displays. However, during checkout, we put our hand basket on the conveyor and it was summarily inverted and dumped out. Had he wanted it emptied, giving us a minute to do so would have been sufficient. This was simply rude and void of any customer service orientation. As an up-side, we are from out of town, so this will have no impact on future grocery shopping experiences.
Nice Whole Foods. The one in Coddingtown in Santa Rosa is a lot bigger and has a gigantic selection. This location is nice to get many items Whole Foods offers. From fresh fruits & veggies, bakery, dairy, meat dept, salad bar and most things you might need. The clerks are super nice, and parking is usually open. There’s also outside seating (not now due to Covid). I like some of the products in their beauty section and like smelling the essential oils. If you are an Amazon Prime member you get 5% OFF any yellow tag sale items. You can also pick up Amazon items in the lockers.
Not a good day there. Bakery and checkout long lines, bakery forgot to give me the chocolate plaque for the day that says happy birthday. Checker was trying to stuff my cake box into a bag and shaking it. I politely said be careful with the cake and she snarled yeah I know as she began to shake it more.
Soooo friendly staff!!!!!!! Id give 5 stars if Whole Foods carried Laloos goat milk ice cream and Bone Suckin Sauce but thats not the workers fault.
I was amazed! Some of the meat and produce was more inexpensive than at the other stores! And you know the quality is always very good.
Great place for grocery shopping, though its a little expensive. Its still an amazing place with fresh fruits, vegetables, and sweets!
Huge selection to cater to so many diets like vegan, keto, etc. Prices are really competitive in their 365 brand, its affordable for everyone now with the same great quality. Friendly staff, attentive and so helpful. Drop by and pick up a pizza, fresh juices, and amazing bakery. No
The meat is the best by far. Very nice store. Not too big but they have everything. The staff is very friendly
Smaller than mostParking lot full afternoonsBest live food. Thank you for reading my Review Haiku!
Overpriced. Now that they are with Amazon, you are not getting the deals that were so plentiful before. Portions are much smaller, local produce is not as plentiful as before.
Whole Foods!! Great place. Wonderful fresh produce, meat and seafood. Great selection of cheeses
I really like this store and the pizza is the best
I love this whole foods, staff is helpful and friendly, the store is clean.
Also known as Whole Paycheck, this chain has good produce and meat and many hard to find items. They are very much NOT your major chain grocery store in terms of their stock. They have few of the national major brands, but their focus is on healthy food.
Nice selection of local beers...WOOT!
Whole Foods is definitely the place to shop if you want to eat healthy. It is also good for all food but they have a large supply of healthy, Gluten free, & other ways of eating.
Since Amazon took over the produce has gone downhill. Avocados more times than not are black inside. I’m sure it’s because the trucks that ship them from the huge warehouse to the store are too cold. Most fruit is picked green in order to get it to the market quickly and has no flavor. Oranges are sour, grapes and melons are tasteless, and fewer and fewer products are organic.
Its whole foods, what can you say
The best cashiers ever!
Not enough hot food available to be 4 stars and there mac and cheese is always sour and never has egg rolls anymore
Great store. Benches outside make for great coffee and reading time.
Excellent find! Trevor working behind the counter was awesome. The rotisserie chicken is fresh and delicious as are all the wraps and salads made with the chicken. I will definitely make this a regular in my dining routine. Five thumbs up yummy rating
Quick service, smells good and lots of social distancing going on. 10/10 would go again
Great pizza
Nice store. Clean. Good customer service and friendly helpful cashier checkout.
This store feels nice and comfortable. The employees are friendly. The selection of food is better than most. I definitely prefer the cheery lighting here vs the dark edgy lighting in Novato Whole Foods, It changes the vibe. I almost always prefer the darker lighting but for some reason this Whole Foods in Petaluma felt good. The only way I can describe it as non fluorescent maybe LED I dont know but I like it.
Very small claustrophobic store, too bad they dont have a spot thats large enough for their shelves as the isles are very narrow and cramped. They really need to move to a larger store like SPROUTS size.
Great staff. Good product offerings.
Love me, some bakery goods ! Appls crunch, cookies are the best, at Whole Foods Market ! 😁😎 LL KOOL RAY
Amazon ruined it. Much processed foods, and private label rip-offs.
Very nice store great variety of produce. Very good bakery. Lunch food to go seems to be very popular. They offer a lot of local and natural brands. The employee who works in the make up department is very friendly and knowledgeable. The store is always very clean and well stocked. The store is also always very busy.
Groceries and more. I miss the salad and hot bar due to covid...
Love this place, just wish I could afford it more often.Produce quality and selection is always great.
Staff preoccupied, borderline rude. Way overpriced but matches the staffs attitudes
Changing your grocery store is always miserable business, but my food choices have pushed me to seek out what Whole Foods is all about, so it was time. Im still struggling to literally find things that Im looking for, but what I AM finding I am SO GRATEFUL for. Alternative products, fresh ingredients clearly labeled with their homes of origin, a wide variety of local and organic products, and really awesome customer service. Really great staff culture 💗 I am green with envy about the size of not-quite-so-local Whole Foods markets, but I am grateful to have Whole Foods right here in Petaluma (and Im just waiting for our demand to push my local store to snag a larger location 😁)
At least I can find unique items.
Most staff are competent and helpful. Bakery is awesome! The cake decorator is VERY talented and make great effort to create unique special order kids decorations.
Never really a Quick in and out, but then maybe my timings just off... Other than time, I can find whatever Im looking for - quality meat, produce, dairy... I usually find whatever I might need. Looking forward to COVID restrictions going away so I can get the products I like to get in bulk.
My favorite Whole Foods due to the super pleasant and friendly service. Above and beyond seems the norm at this store. Definitely appreciated!
W E L L...my shopping experience was SWEET...as usual...even though I could get the fresh fish I wanted...ARTIC CHAR. It was sold out😪
I visited with the person behind the cheese counter for 10 minutes. I got a good lesson on aged cheese and why it matters and what the difference is. I was also offered samples. I really enjoyed visiting with that gentleman who is very knowledgeable. Dont visit him back there and try one of their many different cheeses they offer. They also have an Olive Buffet which is wonderful.
Great place if you have an Amazon account and get the extra discount.Excellent quality foods... But a little pricey ..
Good for the few special things you dont want to be cheap on but I wouldnt do all my groceries here. Good bakery and food/salad bar. Bummer about the whole Amazon take over... Kinda killed the whole hipster vibe they have always maintained
I like the store. Service is excellent.
I like them better now that Amazon took over. Prices seem more reasonable. Produce is lovely, bakery is very yummy. Staff could be a little more upbeat. Parking lot needs to be larger.
Great place to grab a quick healthy lunch on the go. Hot case always has something tasty for a quick lunch. Salad bar is extensive. Six varieties of hot soup daily in the deli area, plus 4 hot seafood soup varieties across the store in the seafood area. Staff is always ready to walk you to the item youre looking for (rather than saying a few rows over on aisle 6 or 7 as in some stores). I like that theyre so willing to offer samples of just about any item too.
Amazing customer service, awesome food in the hot bar. Plenty of check stands open, so its never a very long wait in the check out line. High quality meat for a decent price. Fresh fruits and veggies. Their whole body section is also stocked with a wonderful variety of health and beauty items. The Whole Foods Petaluma employees are extremely knowledgeable of the products they sell.
Love Whole Foods but this one is really small. Should be called Whole Foods Express. Because of the small size, the salad and hot bar doesnt have much selection and very little in vegetarian and vegan options. Since theres not much reason to go to this whole foods I do most of my shopping at Sprouts down the street, way cheaper too.
We bought three crabs. Asked to make sure the crabs were whole, no cracks or missing pinchers. Came home opened the packet: one of the three crabs had its shell totally crushed in and missing both pinchers. We paid $35, that a lot of money, it was supposed to be a special treat, we drove far, it’s so not cool.
If they could get staff to stick around it would be a great local market!!Produce is always solid, as is the salad bar.The prepared foods counter could use refreshing and more creative.
Excellent Nutritious Grocery & Produce Offerings! Friendly helpful Staff! Very good produce department! Lots of Organics! Clean! Easy Handicap Access! Unisex Restrooms! Ample Parking! Very good Fish Counter, Meat, Cheese & Deli Counters! Centrally located on E. Washington Street near Lakeville!
Staff here are friendly and awesome, and many have been here for years so the management must know what theyre doing.
Great selection of food but hard to find parking sometimes. If they had a bigger parking lot and store I would go there more. The aisles can get pretty tight with so many people you can barely get through.
There isnt much to say about Whole Foods that hasnt already been said. Great fresh produce, helpful staff, and wide variety of health foods that are hard to find elsewhere. It is a bid pricey but that is expected since it is a Whole Foods. They have a wide variety of ready made items like salads, meats, and side dishes made every day.
Great Organic Food Store in Petaluma. They offer a complete selection of healthy and organic groceries as well as a salad bar, hot food and sandwich counter/delicatessen. Super service and knowledgeable staff. A bit expensive on some items but well priced on many food staples.
Good food and helpful people.
Very small w a dedicated staff n whole food prices...my opinion is that since Amazon bought this chain is become more less personal n Safewayish...but the people are very nice...Petaluma has a lot of nice people too.
Cant go wrong here
Update after not being Hangry: Ive had only a few bad experiences here. But I have had a lot more positive experiences here overall. Almost every member of staff that I encounter feels like they are trying to do their best. This place has zero salad greens at 7pm on three consecutive days. From April 23rd to April 25th 2019. each time I would notify a member of staff and they would say theres nothing they can do. Multiple members of staff noted that its always sold out for the dinner rush. Why not order more if you are always sold out? There is a wall of lettuce in produce why not just cut up a few heads of lettuce? Imagine how much more money this place could be making on the salad bar alone if they simply provided greens for people to make salads with.
The worst most rude checkers you could ever find. It must be a requirement to work here. You better bring your own bags and you MUST bag your own groceries after spending a fortune or these checkers will scoff at doing any extra work.
Cute
Good fresh meat
More like Whole Paycheck right? Yes yes I know there is a certain demographic that swears by this place because it offers organic and specialty foods and shies away from all the name-brand commercial stuff that makes the average American obese. But it takes that special someone to be able to pay your credit card bill every month after going here on a regular basis. However, they do offer a great lunch buffet area at a reasonable price if you can learn to control your portion sizes.
I finally got my turkey 🤗
Pricey, but quality products and service.
Its whole foods. Over priced amazon food.
Way better than most supermarkets but Amazon needs to stay online and not try to get in the box store market place
Took my lunch to go to the Whole Foods in Petaluma to order a Hot Christmas dinner for my family’s gathering. Was directed to a completely stoned person sitting outside to help me.20 minutes of my time trying to get this Gentleman to understand what I wanted to order and watching as he tried to focus on work but was just too stoned to do his job. And his job was to click on items I want to order on his computer.Needless to say after 20 minuets and him trying to understand what a Turkey was I gave up.Sorry Wholefoods but you have lost my business
Horrible service! Slow and very unprofessional! Plus to get your coffee you need to go to pay at the wholefoods register and wait in line one more time.
The whole foods in Sebastopol is a joke they ought to just close it up and give it up
Nice clean store.
WORST STORE EVER!!!!Today:2 kinds of mac n cheese (neither one gluten feee), 3 kinda if pizza (none gluten free), prepared foods in cold case was completely empty. No tofu in:Burrito bar, salad, bar, cold case, prepared foods. (This is every day)You would think a gluten free vegetarian would be able to eat at a Whole Foods. NOPE.
I mean, it is called Whole Paycheck by some people for a reason. While some items are reasonably priced, many are quite pricey. However, they do sell some great foods and quality organic produce.
Always great choices at the hot/cold salad bar. Discount for amazon prime members.
Great selection & our checker was awesome...really nice guy!!
Came here Thanksgiving morning and it was a mad house, but we were desperate. Sam in the meat counter was amazing and super helpful, we got exactly what we needed and he was so kind, despite what was clearly a really hectic morning to be working. Thank you!
Cant beat amazon brick n mortar
I had to return some food that was already open and whole foods accepted it with no questions asked. It gave me confidence to buy there again.
Great selection and lovely displays with lots of organic and sustainable options.
Great store and great customer service
Even though this location is smaller than most it tends to have a better, more refined selection. The in-house made food is wonderful.
Great customer service good varieties close to home
Its expensive! But its all organic! Thats pretty awesome! You can use your Amazon prime membership their to get a discount! That pretty cool!
Very fun and exciting but very pricey!
Love the Zeek Bars :)
Can be on the expensive side but it has great options for organic foods and overall the store promotes a healthy lifestyle. Its off of a pretty busy street in Petaluma, and the parking lot is tight and often hard to find a spot in. Other than that it had great, friendly service.
Very typical whole foods in a convenient location to 101. I stopped for a quick bite on a 5 hour driving trip and was not disappointed.
This is a great Whole Foods. Huge store, big selection, quick checkout. Parking can be difficult, so if you can get there without a car, Id recommend doing so.
