All the negative reviews are pretty hilarious given the reason the place is so busy (aka long wait times) is because its so good. Personal faves include the whitefish salad special and the veggie sammie. Dont want to wait? Call ahead and go pickup. They give you an accurate time estimate. This isnt rocket science.

The sign said hot bagels but the bagels we each had tasted neither fresh nor toasted or even warm. We didn’t realize you had to ask for it to be toasted as most bagel shops just do that, so my mom and sister received cold bagels with cold cream cheese, and I received a cold bagel and cream cheese with a warm egg and cold cheese on top. I ate mine as it was but my sister and mom took theirs back to see if they could be toasted or warmed somehow, and the staff looked at each other and then back at my sister as if annoyed and said they’d have to be remade. Not sure if this was on purpose but when she got the new ones and took them back to the car she realized they hadn’t even given them the same thing they ordered, but at least they were toasted this time? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not sure if it was just an off day but not a great experience here.

Good Bagels, ordering system was easy. We were disappointed in the variety of Bagels available, we went by here around 10am and they only had two options left. It was a bummer and obviously you need to plan on getting here to beat the crowd. The cream Cheese spreads are good though and slightly made up for the lack of bagel type options. They had us order, pay and then wait by their outdoor window for picking up our bagels. We actually didnt have to wait in a line, but it did take awhile for a place that wasnt busy when we went.

I been to his place one and they destroyed my everything bagel with cream cheese. It was a disgrace to bagels. So I thought maybe it was an off day. I go in ask for a bagel with cream cheese on the side. She showed me a tinier than the Dixie cups in the bathroom size togo. Smaller than the ones Dunkin’ Donuts gives you. So you either smother one togo only on one side of the bagel or none at all? What is wrong with this business? How is that an okay option for a whole bagel? And to top it off both times rude customer service from the walk in. If you don’t want to work mornings then don’t get a job that early.

Ridiculously slow service on weekends. I called ahead and was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes. From past experience I knew to give them more time. Got to the counter 30 minutes after ordering and they hadnt even started preparing my order yet. Took another 20 minutes of waiting.Do not go here on weekends if you have anything else to do in the morning.

Got the veggie bagel on an everything, -they used cream cheese instead of hummus, there were HUGE chunks of raw onion, the avocado was brown and saying the bagel itself was average is generous. This is not a standalone experience, -I have never had a bagel/bagel sandwich from here that I would recommend. I’m not sure why I thought this time might be different, but I wanted to give them another chance because they are close by and I like to support local businesses. If you’re craving an actually good bagel, try ordering from The Bagel Place. They’re farther, but they deliver quickly and their bagel quality is definitely superior. Since finding them and after this final experience, I won’t be returning to Fitzwater.

Its just not worth it. Ordering is difficult, they take forever, and the bagel sandwiches are pretty standard and just not worth the hassle. There is no order to their operation and the layout of the building is backwards (you order, then walk down the line and have to repeat your order to the cashier, then backtrack). I wont be going back.

I wanted to like the place. Close by and decent reviews. Born on NYC bagels and recently had one on a trip up north. I ordered a pork roll egg and cheese on a toasted ET bagel. Im glad I asked for it to be toasted otherwise it would have been a raw bagel. Barely cooked and terrible texture. Calling it an everything bagel would be a stretch by far. It barely had anything on the outside. Maybe everything fell off before I got it. Also its a microwaved egg which never complements a breakfast sandwich. You know the texture Im talking about. When the egg bounces back when you bite into it. Looks like its back to mail order bagels from NY.Note: The onion bagel was a better bagel and had ample Onion pieces on it and was actually cooked. Good amount of jalapeno cream cheese but lacking a bit of jalapeno flavor and heat.

I was here this morning and waited for 15 minutes without ever getting my order taken. There were only 2 employees working so they might have been understaffed, but the employees didnt even acknowledge me or the one other customer waiting to place orders. They also were answering the phone to take orders instead of taking our in-person orders. The bagels looked pretty good, but I ended up leaving empty handed after waiting 15 minutes without a simple Hello from the staff. If youre willing to deal with slow and poor service for 15+ minutes, Id say check this place out. But honestly, its not hard to find a decent bagel elsewhere where they actually want your business.

I stopped in on a whim during a walk in this cold weather and Im so glad I did. The environment felt very positive and joyful and the staff was really inviting and chipper. At the moment, only three customers are allowed inside at a time and once youve ordered and paid, youre asked to stand outside near a window where youll pick up your order once its ready. This might not jive with people who are sensitive to the cold, but I think its a stellar way to queue up customers during the pandemic, and my wait was only a few minutes even though there were a couple of people ahead of me in line.I ordered a turkey cali (turkey, avocado, peperjack cheese, and sprouts) on a sundried tomato bagel and it was stellar. Excellent, excellent bagel...can they be bought by the dozen? Ill have to find out!!

Extremely poor quality of service, which is a shame because the bagels are good. The service was always shaky ever since I started going here, but in recent months it has declined significantly. Frequently when trying to order ahead (Covid) the phone just doesnt get answered. When going to the store it feels like having to help me is a huge bother for the people working there. They give constant attitude and dont even acknowledge people that are waiting.Ive been there well over a dozen times and on my most recent trip they got one item in the order wrong. This was the first time Ive ever went back to get something corrected, so Im not a huge complainer, but when the order is wrong, its wrong. So I went back to get it fixed and was told, well we charged you for the other item. Ok...? If youre at a restaurant and order pizza and they give you a salad, you say it isnt what you ordered, they apologize, and bring out your pizza. We had to go back and forth with the employee, who was pretty much blaming us, and after a few minutes she finally agreed to give us what we ordered originally, of course with us paying the additional $1.50 for the difference between what she gave us and what we ordered (I had no problem paying the delta, considering I would have paid it originally anyway). Then, she proceeded to turn around to her coworker and talk smack about us.They barely answer the phone, mostly ignore you when you come up to the window, and act like youre bothering them when you do catch their attention. Thats not saying all the employees are bad, some are pretty good. I just dont want to buy food from a place where I have a good chance of being ignored or met with confrontation when the restaurant makes a mistake.

Overheard the employee say I “took too long.” So, you gave my sandwich to someone who showed up before or...? How could I take too long to arrive for a pickup order? Wow! This review is for a bagel sandwich I had twice now (I can’t comment on anything else).I grew-up eating bagels, Lox (not Nova) cream cheese, with onion/tomato & capers. And, almost always from a real Jewish deli/sit down eatery called Hymie’s in Ardmore PA. A true authentic Jewish Deli.-My son brought home a Fitzwater bagel sandwich - Lox and cream cheese onion tomato capers on an everything bagel sandwich - OMG, Yes, it was excellent. Easily 3, 3.5oz of lox + cream cheese on both halves. Wow! Everything was fresh and tastes great. It’s enough food to open the sandwich up to create 2 Packed open face sandwiches. Totally 2 thumbs-up for the sandwich. And, it’s worth every bit of the $10. price (Lox is very expensive, sold by the ounce), ($12.95 at Hymie’s).-That being said, I would not buy a dozen bagels to have at home. They get 5 stars for the excellent sandwich- the bagel alone is satisfactory as bagels go. It’s better than a grocery store but not better then other bagel stores that focus on selling bagels by the dozen.> Original Bagel-Rt. 3, Broomall Pa.> New York Bagel-CityLine Ave & Haverford rd.My son is in the City a lot and brought home the sandwich as a surprise the first time. I requested it the 2nd time and told him he doesn’t need to check with me he can bring that sandwich home anytime - excellent.
