I will no longer be eating at this establishment.PROS: The place is clean, bright and the staff are friendly. The food is good slightly pricey but I was ok splurging.CONS: I Purchased food on 10/8/2021 a sandwich and a brownie. After eating my breakfast I wanted to take a bite out of the amazing looking brownie. Unfortunately I was not able to because a hair was baked into the brownie. I am completely grossed out and can no longer trust any of the food at the Bagel Place. I am not spending money on overpriced food with hair in it.

STRAIGHT AMAZING BAGELS.A little pricey for the sandwiches - but they hit the spot.We ordered the:- Hummus Sandwich on an Onion bagel toasted- Whitefish Salad sandwich on an everything bagel- Chicken Salad on and everything bagel (has dill in it, I loved it, but there should be some sort of disclaimer for people)These are pictured below. All had pickles on them, and were fresh fresh.*****our only advice is that you all need some sort of pickled hot peppers as a topping, or hot pepper relish maybe. Something vinegary, to combine the flavors on some sandwiches.

The Bagel Place is a zen palace. If you do not know what it is like to actually order a bagel and dine in, come and experience a new delight! The bagels also hit all the right notes: no flaky textures, fluffy/melty taste, and filling size (to name a few).

I woke up to to an exemplary autumn morning, ready for lox and whatever the day may hold. All this changed when I went to this palace of shame! After holding the door for another patron, who promptly cut me in line, I still felt my day could be salvaged by the warm toasted center of an everything bagel with cream cheese and lox. Oh how wrong I was. After politely & plainly ordering a very normal bagel (toasted, with lox, and cream cheese), I left to continue my day with a new bounce of optimism. My fall from grace could not have been more abrupt. After a pleasant yet arduous pilgrimage home I tore the packaging away with Christmas morning fervor. What did i behold? Worse than a lump of coal: a plain, untoasted, spongy, almost defrosted, bagel with Salmon SPREAD AND PLAIN cream cheese!Who? Who would do this? Who would have ordered this? What enemies have I? Who have I recently wronged? What could I have done? All I have done today is pay full price for a lox-laden bagel I shall never see. Abandon hope, all ye who enter this hellish palace of sin. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Im not exactly sure why I had such a hard and persistent bagel craving whilst I was in Philidelphia... but I can tell you that I didnt just happen upon this bagel place. I sought it out in a similar fashion to an addict seeking out his next fix.Its one of the highest rated bagel places in Philidelphia, and for good reason. The bagels are delicious, the service is fantastic, the place is clean as a whistle, and that matzo ball soup #PlacesOpenPalmOnChestAndLooksAway. Man that matzo ball soup. That matzo ball soup gives my matzo ball soup a run for its money, and then snatches its wig!I kept sipping at it and trying to figure out what was in it... being like... my matzo soup will become better if I can figure out what herbs/spices Im tasting. Dang Honeychild!I got a bagel with everything on the side. Im very methodical about my bagel set up. Gotta get the cream cheese on the side if youre toasting your bagel. And you should ALWAYS toast your bagel; brings the bagel to life. If you have them put it on, the cream cheese starts melting and all because you need to wait for it to cool down from the toaster. Also, I like getting some whitefish salad, tomatoes, and if Im feeling indulgent (swiss cheese) on the side. Thats Mikes perfect bagel. Everything toasted bagel, scallion cream cheese on top, white fish salad, then tomato, then swiss cheese. I know what youre saying. Thats a lot of cheese. Well of course it is... were going for perfection - not just greatness.Everything here was super fresh. I would go back in a heartbeat when I find myself in Philadelphia again. Also a great place to work! They have wifi and a good deal of space. In a really cute neighborhood too!

This place does everything right. Their bagels are absolutely amazing. Best bagels in Philadelphia, hands-down, and even rivals some bagel shops in New York. This is coming from a New Yorker with impossible bagel standards, so you know theyre lit. If I recall correctly, I chatted one of the managers or owners once who mentioned that his wife is from Long Island, and I believe she helps to run the place. So they have some of that New York magic! The staff is so friendly. Theyre super warm and ask me where Ive been if its been a while since Ive visited (I can honestly never go more than a month without their bagels, though.)The interior is cozy. They have lots of tables and a couple of comfortable couches in the back corner. They have single, gender-neutral restrooms which is also a plus. The perfect place to come if youre looking for the best bagels in Philadelphia and overall good vibes.

Long wait for take-outs when you in a morning rush to work.Decent bagels and most staff are generally nice. However, if you order takeout in the morning, the wait can be very long. They seem to have most things in an efficient process EXCEPT the flow. Whenever the orders come in even from phone-n orders of like 6 bagels in the morning, the guy in the kitchen just makes it as it shows up on the iPad. On the other hand, I only ORDERED ONE EGG AND SAUSAGE BAGEL AND HAD TO WAIT LIKE 20 MINUTES, I DONT HAVE 20 MINUTES IN THE MORNING TO WAIT FOR 1 BAGEL. SOLUTION, I TOAST MY OWN BAGEL AT HOME AND ADD AN EGG ON IT FOR UNDER 5 MINUTES.

I am tempted to proclaim that this is in fact the best bagel in the city of philadelphia, but first, I have to ask - who at this establishment decided that the *default* for a bagel with cream cheese is UNtoasted? they only toast cut bagels by request, which lead me to a quite cold, dissatisfied first bite. all of my orders since, however, have been pure bagel excellence.Update: one year later - they still refuse to toast my bagels even when I order them toasted. great coffee, great ingredients, but still dissatisfied. downgraded to three stars.
